"Pffffff!"

…

Stingret brought her irises to her right… staring at the woman holding her mouth and puffing her cheeks. The nurse's eyes went wide, as sweat covered her face.

"… laughing at me, did you dared?" The Stingling frowned slightly.

"Ccrrrrrrrr, pppfffffffffff!" Tears formed on the woman's closed eyes, as she kept stomping the floor with her right foot.

Hun turned into a Squid, as he immediately charged after the group of Stingrays. A Stingling man jumped in front of Stingret, shooting goo over the Squid. He dodged to the right… only to find himself in front of a Stingling woman whose weapon was already aiming at him.

"HUNLEY!" Mirii thrusted her arm forward.

Her eyes observed the enemy woman hitting Hun with her goo projectiles.

SPLAT!

"NOOOO!" The girl jumped forward, only to stop in front of the man's weapon.

Hun went through the wall as a little Squid, as he left behind a stain of goo. Mirii's hands grasped her tentacles, as veins popped out from her forehead and her face frowned like mad!

"Come back, your friend will… on the other side, through the pad." Stingret smil-

"Pffffff" The nurse's hands went over her stomach. "Ha ha ha ha ha!" She walked backwards, hitting the wall with her back.

Smoke came from the Stingling's ears… as she shout non-comprehensive words: two more Stinglings, both male, dashed from behind Stingret and grabbed one of the nurse's arms each.

"EEEEEEKK!" The woman waved herself around. "HEEEEELP!"

"YOU NOXIOUS STINGRAY!" Mirii's irises turned into dots, as she showed her gritted teeth and lowered her eyebrows some more. "NOTHING WILL SAVE YOU FROM THE DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES I WILL BRING UPON YOU!"

Stingret laughed, as she took two steps forward and looked at the complaining Inkling.

"Useless words, you say." She folded her arms, while smiling. "Just a little Squid, you"

"Pfffff, ha ha ha ha!"

The woman laughed, stomping on both her feet and twisting her head left and right.

"Gggggghhh, ppffffff!" She puffed her cheeks, as a stream of tears fell from her closed eyes.

Black smoke rose from the Stingling, as she shook her fist with one hand and slapping her forehead with the other. She shouted unknown words: the two soldiers brought the nurse over the crowd, as she kicked in the air and screamed. Three more Stinglings were walking without their weapons, as the man on the left cracked his knuckles.

"Keep your distance from me!" Mirii stepped backwards, as sweat covered her face. "Especially YOU!" Her forefinger pointed at the walking Stingling woman. "STAY AWAY FROM ME!"

The woman smiled, lowering her eyelids to the middle.

"Don't worry… you will end up just like that stupid Squid you have for a friend."

The man on the middle turned his head, frowning at the woman. Mirii's mouth opened… suddenly, her sweat quickly dissolved, while a frown formed on her face. She growled, immediately rushing over the taunting woman.

She jumped, while thrusting her foot over her belly.

POW!

The Stingling yelped, as she fell on her back. Two men grabbed each one of her arms, lifting the girl from the floor: she began kicking the air, screaming at the top of her lungs and looking at her enemy.

"YOU WORTHLESS STINGRAY!" Her eyes squeezed, waving herself back and forth. "YOU ARE NOTHING AGAINST PERFECTION! YOU ARE NOTHING!"

Stingret sidestepped to the right, as the men kept walking and holding the girl. They exited the room, now walking on the hallway to the right, while Mirii kept kicking in the air and tilting her head all around.

"Stop!" The man on the left snorted, pulling her arm strongly. "Aren't you happy enough with that kick of yours?!"

The girl reopened her eyes, yelping slightly, as she stared at the hallway stretching for less than a half mile…

"… YOU FOOL!" Mirii swung her left foot over the man on her right side.

POW!

"Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhh!" The man's hands went over the middle point, bending his knees and squeezing his eyes.

"What the?!" The other man stared at-

POW!

"Aaaaaaaaaahh!" The second man fell on the floor with his back, carrying his hands down and rolling left and right.

Mirii rushed ahead, as the rest of the Stingrays shouted and chased after the running girl. She panted, but gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. She aimed at the right corner, swiftly turning over its direction.

"Curses!" The girl kept sprinting, staring at another hallway. "I'm getting fatigued… if I keep this rhythm, I will have no choice but to proceed by walking!"

Voices came from her back.

"Being captured is worse!" Her eyes expanded, as she accelerated. "Th-the floor is slippery…! One wrong step and I will slid out of control!"

Mirii growled, as she lowered her head…

"Uff… uff… m-my head cannot sustain more stress… an aspirin is required." She swallowed her own saliva. "I would also like to drink a nice, fresh bottle of Inkling water…"

The step sounds, coming from behind the girl, were gradually increasing in volume.

Stop!

We are going to reach you, Squid!

"Enough dreaming!" She frowned, focusing completely ahead. "I have a crowd of vicious Stingrays to leave behind!"

Her feet were about to reach an opened multi-door… as she passed through the opening, while pushing away the right door standing in her way.

"Gah…! Sweat is forming on my forehead…!" Her wrist went over it, drenching it in a rapid swing. "Uuuufff…! Where are… those cursed stairs?!"

Her eyes looked at the window, located at the end of the corridor… then, they shifted to the left corner.

"Unfortunately, I do not know where to go…" She frowned. "… no matter! I have brilliantly navigated through real mazes, before… I will perfectly figure out the real way, even when I'm escaping those Stingrays at the same time!"

Mirii reached the left corner, bending over its direction and managing to complete the turn: once she was stepping on the straight hallway, her speed increased again.

"Th-those monsters are screaming like brutes!" She snorted, panting loudly. "Yet, no one is exiting those rooms… such fact cannot be ignored."

Her head rose.

"I can't help but to think about a logical reason for such event… is there something else going on behind the scenes?!"

Her eyes glimpsed over a metallic, green door standing on the left side of the corridor. She smiled widely.

"That door will lead me to safety…!" Her legs filled with energy, as she accelerated slightly more. "Once I lost those idiots, I can calmly find a proper explanation for such silence inside those corridors…"

She slowed down, approaching the left wall and aiming her hand over the door's handle. She stopped, grabbing the handle and pushing it down.

"Ngh!" She pulled the door once, as her eyes expanded.

She immediately switched her right hand with her left hand, now pulling the door even more.

"My elbow isn't fully healed…" She rushed inside. "Great… now I can only count on my other arm!"

Without thinking too much about it, the girl stepped on each stair steps who were leading downwards.

"Drat! I could have closed the door…!" She snorted. "It would have slowed down those Stingrays, thus allowing me to spare a bit more time…!"

She twisted to the right, descending more stair steps.

"Those monsters…!" She growled. "Thinking to treat me like any piece of cargo… they do not have any respect towards the others!"

As she was descending the stair steps, her mind was seeing Hun smiling at her.

"Hunley…" Her mouth downturned. "If only I decided to trust you… perhaps we would have already been on the car, heading off over home… and pass some more time together…"

She blushed a bit, as her head lifted back. Her ears caught more voices coming from above.

"… I'm still in time for that!" She frowned. "At the end, it doesn't matter if we will not stop those Stingrays, today… because of our current conditions, we must think more about ourselves. There is no other solution…" She sighed.

Mirii stepped on the last stair steps, now moving towards another metallic door colored in the same way.

"Ufff… I'm almost out of this hospital…!" She pushed the door with her left hand.

Instinctively, she turned to her right side: three Stingrays were running in her direction, while at the same time escaping three Inklings who wearing each their respective Agent Suit. Her eyes grew, as she turned the other way and resumed her dash.

Save yourself!

Keep running!

The Stinglings were shouting and frowning at Mirii. Sweat was falling from her forehead, as she was waving herself around and slowing down a bit…

"N-nnnnnggghh…!" She panted loudly. "I… need… Inkling water… now…" Her eyes closed. "Uuufffff… … Hunley…"

SPLAT!

Her head twisted to her right: her eyes looked through one of the windows, staring at a Squid sliding off while a small Stingray was flying away from a green ink stain. Her eyes grew, as they sparkled.

"… Hunley!" She ran faster, ignoring the pain growing from her legs. "I-I can't wait to reach you!"

Her mouth sealed for a moment.

"… perhaps, it's better I assume the same ink color as his…" She took a wrapped candy with her left hand.

The girl unfold the wrapper, immediately throwing a green candy in her mouth and chewing it with her mouth closed.

"Who knows what would happen to me, if I'm accidentally splatted…" She gulped the candy. "… this Inkgreen gum is surprisingly tasty!" She smiled, putting away the wrapper. "As if it was filled with energy…!"

From the left corner in the distance, a Stingling walked right in the middle and pointed his weapon over Mirii.

"Curses!" Her eyes expanded. "Not when I finally found Hunley!" She gritted her teeth.

"Stop right there!" The Stingling man pointed his weapon, while closing his right eye. "Or else!"

"Nnnnnnnngggh!" Mirii slowed down. "This is why I hate fighting without weapons or more resources at my disposal…!"

She stopped, raising both her arms. The man walked towards the girl, as Mirii turned behind: Stinglings and Inklings were shooting their projectiles over each other, while jumping or rolling sideways… the Inklings kept turning into Squids, sliding inside their magenta ink.

"Look at me!" The Stingling growled, while cocking his weapon. "Don't try tricks!"

Mirii frowned, as her irises went to the right.

"That ridiculous Stingray is really getting on my nerves…!"

"FREEZE!"

An Inkling woman, wearing her Protective Suit, jumped from the right corner and landed on her knee down. Her hands were pointing her weapon over the Stingling's back.

"Let her pass, brute!" Her eyes squeezed slightly.

The man roared, as he turned behind and shot goo projectiles over the woman.

"Relying on luck is something I would never choose…" She lowered her arms and turned behind, while staring at the two shooting at each other. "… but I can't waste the occasion of overturning the situation in my favor!"

Her eyes aimed at the man's back: he kept jumping left and right, while shooting goo at the Inkling. Mirii sprinted towards him: once near, she jumped and thrusted her foot over her target.

PAF!

"Aaaaaggh!" The man fell on his stomach, opening both his hands and letting his weapon bounce away.

"Great kick!" The woman shot magenta ink projectiles over her enemy.

SPLAT!

The little Stingray flew off, leaving a large magenta ink stain on the floor. Mirii sprung herself over the stain, landing in a roll over the cleaner side of the floor.

"Thank you for the support!" She jumped back up, watching the woman and smiling. "Can you please show me the exit?"

"It's right there!" The adult swung her arm over the right side, running that direction. "Follow me! I will escort you out of here!"

"Understood!" Mirii nodded, running after her new ally. "Hunley… I'm coming!" She smiled once more. "I want to see your smiles, I want to hear your voice!"

"Do you feel fine, right?" The woman was looking over an opened emergency exit door.

"A bit fatigued…" Mirii snorted. "A nurse just released me from my room…"

"If you feel a sense of dizziness, don't hesitate warning me about it." The Inkling went right in front of the opened door, thrusting her hand behind.

The girl slowed down, almost impacting over the stopping hand. The woman waved her thrusted hand up and down.

"Stay here…" She whispered, walking with her knees bended.

Mirii swallowed silently. She couldn't hesitate scanning behind her… seeing an empty hallway stretching for at least a mile! She returned forward, watching the woman stepping outside and twisting herself around.

"Go! Go!" She swung her arm towards the left, sprinting in that direction.

Mirii began running, jumping over the three stair steps connected to the asphalt. Her eyes couldn't help but notice a green ink trail stretching over the same direction she was running into.

"All I have to do is to simply follow this green path!" She jumped again, this time turning into a Squid and diving inside the green ink.

She slid inside, passing the running woman who stared back at the small waves forming from the green ink.

"Don't rush ahead!" Her free hand went forward, as her eyebrows went up. "There might be more Stingrays over there!"

"Forgive me, but I must reach a certain Squid!" Mirii's voice came from the ink, as she was advancing more and more rapidly. "I still appreciate your support!"

"You are crazy!" The woman frowned. "The enemy has conquered the area and we Agents just arrived!" She accelerated, jumping past the green ink and landing on the left side. "We are fighting them off! We haven't secured any portion of the area yet!"

"… no… there is no excuse!" Mirii's eyes emerged from her ink. "I can reach Hunley just as easily, if I keep sliding inside this ink! I-I couldn't possibly delay"

"Please! Slow down!" The woman panted. "You might get splatted in an ambush!"

Her Squid eyes expanded. She stopped out of pure instincts. Immediately, the adult stopped nearby.

"What's gotten into you?!" She panted loudly, watching Mirii's eyes popping out from the ink. "Why are you rushing ahead?!"

"… I-I… I said that I must reach a certain Squid!" Mirii frowned a bit. "He's an excellent fighter under his other form! He would grant me more chances to"

"Are you thinking that following this ink path will lead to him?!" The female Agent opened her arms.

"Not necessarily." Mirii's eyes closed, as sweat surrounded them. "I-I just need an indication… I still have enough energy to defend myself, in case of an ambush."

"Defend yourself with what? Your fists?!" The woman folded her arms. "You don't have any weapons with you!"

Mirii growled.

"Listen, I cannot stay here… I must go! I must reach Hunley!" The top of her eyes 'smiled'. "He got splatted before… h-he also ran a medical examination! H-he might be in peril!"

"… I understand…" The woman's eyes closed. "… but are you absolutely sure that this is the right way?"

…

"I'm not saying this for the sake of throwing doubts in your mind." The female Agent reopened her eyes, looking rapidly left and right. "I want you to reflect over your own safety. Earlier, I noticed that piece of cotton hanging on your elbow… you just came out from a medical examination yourself, right?"

"Correct." Mirii dived inside the green ink.

"Then, think about the current situation at hand!" The woman nodded. "Do you really prefer running the risk of looking over Hunley alone? Or should you think about yourself first instead?"

She moved closer over the green ink.

"Don't worry: we Agents will find Hunley… I'm sure."

…

"You forgot one detail: I'm not alone." Waves began forming, while the Squid resumed her sliding. "I have an ally who's ready to support me!"

The woman's mouth opened.

"How can I do that if you rush ahead?!" The female Agent ran along the green ink. "How can you defend yourself from the ambushes?!"

"I can stop myself and slid the other way." Her eyes emerged once more, as her irises pointed forward. "I'm inside a compatible ink, after all!"

"Th-that's too risky!" The woman gritted her teeth. "Why are you"

"Risk is not a factor to consider!" Mirii's eyes frowned. "… especially when I'm using the truth to justify my actions! Do you see any contradictions to point out in my logic?"

The woman's mouth sealed for a moment.

"… alright… if you are truly sure of your answer…" She accelerated her running pace. "… then, let's go save your friend Hunley!"
