"Aga is not known to be a fool…" Mirii frowned. "… probably the only Squid, aside from Hunley, I could assign important responsibilities."
What I said before is true: for this mission only, I will be your teacher. Your performance will be truly submitted to the HQ, so you must listen to me carefully.
"I will, Aga." Mirii's arms folded.
"Shall we start things now?" Vira stood up, carrying her weapon closer to her chest. "I think we"
"Vira, Aga is explaining some fundamental information regarding my role." The girl's forefinger pointed over the chair. "Please, sit down and be patient."
"… ok, ok!" The woman rose her arms, as she sit back on her chair.
Nicely done, Mirii. This Vira must not hear our conversations… make sure you never say anything that might expose our true goals.
"Understood." Mirii nodded.
Good. Even though I'm your teacher, I will also act as your own Supportive Agent… albeit I'm not in my office at the moment, so I cannot use most of my tools for the job.
"Where are you, right now?" Mirii's head rose.
… I'm at home.
"Ah, inside your room…" Her eyes closed.
No. I meant a real home.
…
"So, you also moved out from the Headquarters…" Her eyes reopened, as her head tilted back to a neutral position.
"You don't live inside the HQ?!" Vira's eyes grew a bit. "Yo-you are still an Agent, right?!
"Of course I am!" Mirii snorted, shaking her head. "And so is Aga!" She stepped over the door. "I earned a different role several months ago… this role made me move out of the Headquarters, which is the reason why I do not have a room in there anymore."
"Huh…" The woman's mouth opened a bit.
The HQ… it was getting smaller and smaller for us… especially for Stella. I was stressing myself for thinking her future inside the building… I-I was losing my sleep at night, fearing to have nightmares about the future years. Harry… he fought with all his will to get us out of that furnace…
"Aga. The explanation." Mirii's mouth downturned. "You can continue your story later on."
… forgive me for that…
"No need to apologize." She smiled. "I'm glad that everything is proceeding for the better, on your part."
… thank you, Mirii. Stella! Don't jump from the sofa! … … … … uff… today, she is really energetic. Actually, I wouldn't mind taking her to the park… but I have a duty to fulfill, so let's get back to the explanation.
Mirii's smile increased a bit more.
"She truly cares about her child…"
As I was saying, I'm not in the office at the moment… so, I can only assist you through my home computer, which owns an updatable map and several information regarding an important objective you must follow. I was also controlling a drone, assigned to me by the HQ… however, a Stingray shot it down with its long-ranged weapon. They only sent this one for the main mission…
"… drat!" The girl took some steps towards the medical bed, as her throat was keeping her own words. "It could had been useful for our mission!"
Anyway! According to the secondary mission recap, you requested a rescue operation towards Hun… unfortunately, the device you are holding cannot help you for the current task… nor my computer.
Mirii's eyebrows went up, as her face went slightly paler.
However, there is a way to detect him.
Her eyes grew.
An… indirect way, admittedly. If it's true that Hun is sliding around, splatting Stingrays after Stingrays… he might be after their flying vessel.
"A flying vessel?!" Her irises shrunk, as her mind was remembering something from the past…
After all, The Stingrays didn't came inside the hospital for no reason: the complex has ties with Project Neo!
"CURSES!" Sweat formed on Mirii's face. "I should have been more careful about the activities of Happy Squid Land…!"
Vira was snorting, lazily turning her head around…
The place has important files related to previous medical cases… those are nothing more than the consequences of Project Neo's previous experiments ran in their labs!
"… I see." Mirii nodded. "Consequences? Could that mean… they truly cure the cavies?!"
The Stingrays came after the medical documents… rumors claim they are located in the hospital's 'utility' room.
Mirii sighed...
I was observing this hospital for a while, actually… especially after the event that happened tonight: several Inklings were brought to the hospital, unconscious… they all came from
"I know this type of information, Aga…" The girl frowned slightly.
… I should have known that. You sure know your way around Project Neo… and this is why I took the occasion of assisting you once more.
"Conclude the explanation…" Her eyes closed, as she grasped her device. "I'm prepared for the task."
"Goodie!" Vira stood up, as she smiled.
My drone tracked you, while you were running outside with the Agent… but before I knew it, the Stingray sniped a long shot on its propeller: the drone fell all the way on the ground and crashed into it.
"… such feature would have been useful for my job…" Mirii's head rose. "… I must look out for this 'long-ranged' Stingray…"
Before I accepted the task of being your teacher, I was still hearing the messages said by the other Agents… when that Agent pronounced your name, I knew I had to pay attention. I was right: the HQ let you earn the role of Temporary Supportive Agent and sent their request for a teacher. I had to accept it quickly, before another Agent would have done so…
"… I understand." Mirii headed over the door. "I can safely conclude that the explanation is done."
"Did you understood everything, Mirii?" Vira smiled, following the girl.
"Yes." She nodded, as she stopped and simply turned her head to her right. "Vira, you must walk in front of me."
"Wise choice!" The woman closed her eyes, while keeping her smile and passing the girl. "I'm ready to splat everything that resembles a Stingray!"
"You must splat Stingrays... not beings resembling one." Mirii snorted, watching the Agent reaching the door. "We can't afford to splat innocents by accident."
"Ha ha!" Vira's right hand grabbed the door's handle, as her left hand rose her weapon. "Come on! After all that talk you had to get through" She pulled the door. "you deserve some"
Suddenly, a fist reached her cheek: Vira flew backwards, letting her weapon glide over the chair and hitting it. Mirii gasped loudly: a male Stingling, covered with magenta ink stain all over himself, was panting and growling at the girl.
"N-no!" She took some steps backwards. "Nnnnnnggh!" She frowned.
Mirii, is there something wrong?!
"… it's better to put this device away…" She stores it, as her hands were shyly thrusting forward. "I'm not sure this Supportive set will survive, if the Stingray"
"You better say your prayers, Squid!" The man jumped over Vira, as he dashed over the girl.
Mirii swung a lateral kick, as the man stopped and watched her foot passing in front of his stomach. The girl jumped backwards, hitting the wall with her back. The man rose his fists. Mirii rose her right leg, as sweat formed on her face and her hands were pressing on the wall.
Mirii! Mirii, can you hear me?!
The Stingray took baby steps, while keeping his fists near his face.
… the connection is working… Mirii! Say something, please!
The girl swallowed silently. The man was still proceeding…
FUM!
Mirii's kick went over the Stingray's left side, as he punched the girl's right cheek and threw her down.
"GAH!" Her arms and stomach flattened on the floor.
MIRII!
The girl yelped, as her eyes squeezed… the man walked towards Mirii, as he grabbed the back of her shirt and flipped her 180°: now her back was facing the ground, as the girl was slowly opening her eyes. His hands grabbed the top part of her shirt, lifting the girl and carrying her sight right over his.
"You are lucky I'm not allowed to finish you off…" He snorted.
A frown was gradually growing on Mirii's face… as her left fist clenched.
"… otherwise, I would have been more than happy to turn you into a pile of useless ink…" His eyes squeezed a bit.
Fum!
Pum!
Her fist hit his right cheek, making his head turning over his left side.
…
"Is that all you got?" The man kept his head tilted.
Mirii growled, kicking his left cheek: the Stingray yelped loudly.
"You son of a" He charged after the wall, pressing the girl on it.
"GAAH!" Mirii's arms opened wide, as her eyes squeezed.
The man brought his left fist back…
"Goodnight, Squi-aaaaAAAAAAAAHHH!" His eyes expanded.
Vira's left hand was grasping his fist, as the man kept yelling at the top of his lungs. His hands let Mirii fall down, as the girl's mouth opened. The woman pulled the Stingray, twisting him over the other way and grabbing his greenish military jacket with only her right hand.
She lifted him for almost half a feet, as Mirii's irises shrunk and her arms were pressing on the wall.
"It's so easy picking on the small Squids, hmm?!" Her left arm moved backwards… "You piece of ship…!"
"Yo-you think you are scaring me with your strength?!" His face went paler, as he swung a fist over the woman and missed her face by an inch. "Turf you, Squid!" He frowned. "TURF YOU!"
FUM!
POW!
Her right hand opened, as the man immediately fell on his back and closed his eyes. Mirii's face was completely pale, watching the Stingray's head reaching her feet. She lowered down on her knees, as her index and third finger landed on the Stingray's neck, next to the side of his windpipe.
"… he fainted." Her head rose back, looking at Vira. "… how…"
The woman cracked her knuckles, lowering her eyelids to the middle.
"Pfui!" Her eyes closed. "That basshole deserved it."
Mirii, are you alright?!
"… I'm fine, yes…" The girl kept looking at the woman… before sealing her mouth and standing back on her feet. "How did you…" Slowly, her forefinger pointed at Vira. "How did you lifted him like that…? How did you punched him with such strength…?!"
"Eh eh!" Vira smiled, opening her eyes. "Let's say… it's kind of my specialty." She winked.
Mirii's forefinger lowered a bit.
"By the way…" The woman walked towards her. "Did that shiphead punched you or something?" Once she reached Mirii, Vira's mouth downturned.
"… he attacked my cheek…" Mirii's right hand went over her cheek, massaging it. "… I will probably get better over time…"
I should had finished the explanations as soon as possible…
"Aga, it's not your fault." Her head rose. "That Stingray appeared as soon as Vira opened the door."
The woman frowned, as she looked down at her enemy.
"Those Stingrays… they cause nothing but trouble." Her head shook. "That's the truth."
Mirii's eyes went also on the Stingray: she grimaced.
"This disgusting creature will return attacking the innocents, once he's done with his sleep…" Her left hand took her device and looked at its screen. "He must be brought to justice, before he has the chance to deliver more attacks…"
Her thumb swiped on it, pressing on the Squid icon once it was caught on sight. The screen was now transmitting several magenta Squid icons of small size, spread around squares. Her thumb pressed on the Squid icons, as a circle grew from below…
Beep!
Mirii pressed on the screen again, keeping her thumb on it.
"Attention, main team: this is Mirii speaking!" She bended forward. "Agent Vira successfully stopped a Stingray psychopath, who fainted on the ground because of her punch. One of you must reach the room and arrest the Stingray, before he has the chance to recover fully and escape justice. The room is located near one of the entrances."
She tilted her posture back.
"You must turn behind and move towards the nearest corner: keep observing over your left side and find the multi-door entrance."
Her thumb rose from the screen.
"Now we must wait for the other Agents' arrival…" She gave another look over her enemy. "… there is no way, I'm letting this filthy animal roam around freely, once more." She grimaced some more.
