"Oplà !" Vira rose back up, while holding the fainted Stingray with both her hands. "Alright… where did you said I should put this guy?" She turned behind.
Three Inkling Agents, two men and a shorter woman, were staring back at Vira… with their irises shrunk. Mirii's mouth flattened, as her arms were folded.
"… no matter how many times I'm witnessing this phenomenon…" Her hands were grasping each one of her arms, as she slightly frowned. "Sh-she's picking the Stingray, as if he doesn't hold any weight on his own!"
Mirii.
"Aga." Her head rose.
Nice job for the call you made over the Agents. This action of yours will neat you some nice score.
"… thank you." Her eyes closed. "Although, I should have been more careful against that psychopath…" She shook her head. "I had the occasion of bringing him down myself… my kicks were effective"
You cannot think of yourself as an invincible machine. Or should I say… think to be a perfect machine.
"Bah!" Mirii grimaced a bit, freeing her arms. "I will revise, in the future, my close-range fighting abilities…"
Sigh… anyway! Out of curiosity, I gave a look over Vira's bio data…
Mirii's eyes squeezed a bit, looking at Vira talking with two men Agents, while staying on the medical bed's left side.
… I only found some very basic information regarding her. Most of her data is 'classified', though…
"Vira." The girl swung her arm in the direction of the opened door. "We must go."
The woman opened her mouth, immediately facing Mirii.
"The Agents told me that, even outside the walls, there are Stingrays on every corner!" Her mouth downturned. "I might be strong, but I'm as vulnerable as you… I will be splatted"
"The motivation is overruled." Mirii took some steps over the opened door, passing the medical bed and looking over her right, tracking Vira's weapon. "… grab that weapon and follow me."
"M-Mirii! Please, be reasonable!" Vira dashed, moving in between the two men and reaching the girl. "I can't defeat an entire army of Stingrays alone! It-it's impossible!" Her hands grabbed her shoulders.
"… you called me a 'brainy' before… am I right?" Mirii twisted behind, properly facing the woman.
"Yes…" Vira sighed. "But this is"
"Do you think a brainy would act without a reason…?" Her eyes squeezed a bit. "Or perhaps the brainy you are talking to, knows more about the current situation than the 'brawny' of the team?"
Vira's mouth sealed.
… you are bluffing, Mirii. You just want to save Hun as soon as possible.
Mirii growled, as a vein popped out from her forehead.
"My decision is final!" Mirii twisted behind, resuming her walk. "Grab that weapon, Vira. We have a Squid to save."
"… I hope you truly know what you are doing…" Slowly, the woman walked over the weapon…
"Those fools!" As the girl passed through the opened door, she looked left and right. "They haven't seen perfection yet… they can't even imagine what perfection's form is truly like!" She proceeded over the entrance. "... there is only one Squid I know, who understands it…"
She stopped on her feet once past the entrance.
"… Hunley..." Her hand grabbed the device and brought it in front of her face. "Where you could possibly be, right now…"
"You are rushing again."
Mirii snorted, as Vira passed near her while holding her weapon: she smiled a bit, raising her head just enough to see the brick wall's top edge.
"At the same time, though…" She turned behind, carrying her weapon behind her back. "… I can't help but find it cute that you are willing to risk your tentacles for this Hunley."
Mirii blushed, as her head pointed at the woman.
"Wh!" She frowned. "C-cute?! Insolence! Th-this is a whole operate of perfection!" Her forefinger pointed over her face. "It has nothing to do with cuteness! There aren't even hints of it!"
Vira giggled, as her eyes closed.
"You surely sound like someone who could talk about him for hours…"
"Nnnnggh!" Mirii's face went full red, as she retreated her forefinger. "E-enough w-with your worthless assumptions… I-I'm the brainy here!"
Yes, you are the brainy… thus, you have to learn the general location of their vessel.
Mirii sealed her mouth… as she looked back over her device and swiped her thumb on its screen.
My drone managed to track it down, before… I had to carry it back to the battlefield, since the HQ was ordering it. Luckily, I registered its location on the map, so I can provide some sort of indications for you… but I'm suspecting that the Stingrays are prepared for any 'unpleasant' visit from the outside. You must be careful, Mirii… especially for those Stingrays who use long-ranged weapons.
"Aga, is there an option to draw on the map?" Her head rose, as her irises were still pointed over the screen.
Yes. There is a pencil on the top-right corner of the map screen: tap it and you can now draw white lines on it. To turn it off, simply press the X button located in the same place.
Her thumb went over the pencil, as she pressed on it.
"Thank you." Her irises went on the middle. "Vira, make sure that no Stingray is coming from neither side…"
"Sure!" Vira returned forward, as she stepped on the stone tiles and carefully lifting her weapon with both hands.
Swiftly, she inspected both right and left side of the road…
"No one on sight, at the moment!" The woman kept looking in both sides.
"Prepare a green path on that wall and inspect the outside." Mirii's thumb was sliding on the screen, leaving a white line behind.
"Right on it!" The woman marched over the wall, as she shot green ink projectiles on the asphalt.
"According to the map and my knowledge, there are few houses on the other side of this wall…" Her thumb left the screen, as she admired the lines on the map screen. "Since we are looking for the vessel, the Stingrays would have more than one reason to locate it in such area... I should consult Aga, just in case."
Mirii cleared her voice, briefly closing her eyes.
"Aga, I would like to hear more about the drawing feature present on this map."
… Mirii, say 'I'm ready to learn' if you want me to talk more specifically about it. In case you want me to talk more about the vessel's current location, say 'I understand'.
"… I understand." Mirii nodded.
Good. The vessel is located somewhere on the plains. You are near the area, so try getting on the grassy field without being splatted! I'm currently trying to get more information than this, so keep your ears open for the next ones.
"Yes." Her head pointed over the woman who was now standing on the top of the brick wall. "… I haven't tried to talk with Vira, while she is far away from my voice's range… … perhaps, if I utilize the same method as I used for talking with the other Agents…?"
Mirii's thumb pressed on the X, then she left the map screen: it was now showing several icons. The girl pressed on the Squid one, as the screen was now revealing several, littler Squid icons spread around a collection of squares.
Her thumb tapped over a green Squid icon.
Beep!
Mirii pressed the screen again.
"Vira, did you found any Stingrays?"
Nope! I'm covering the road in green ink, so I can mark down our territory.
"… yes, I approve." The girl stepped towards the wall. "I'm proceeding over the top of the wall."
Ok!
Mirii's thumb rose from the screen.
"As I calculated…" Her eyes closed. "No device can hide their features from my sharp eyes…"
Her feet touched the green ink on the road, as she didn't hesitate turning into a Squid and sliding quickly forward. Once near the wall, she jumped on the green ink trail hanging on it and climbed the barricade. As she reached the top, Mirii sprung off the edge and returned into her humanoid form before landing on her feet.
Vira was bending on her knees, watching the large green ink stain below. The girl gave it a quick look, before looking over the surroundings: some trees were growing from the grassy plains, as three houses had each their little roads connected to the main one.
Her eyes went in particular over the largest tree of the bunch.
"… I'm more than qualified to channel the instincts of a Charger user." Her thumb went back on the screen. "There is no turning back, now: once we pass this wall, we will find ourselves into enemy territory…"
"Mirii, shall we dive inside this fresh ink?" Vira smiled, turning her head over her right side.
"Be patient." The girl's thumb was sliding on the screen. "Guard our position until I'm done preparing a comprehensive… examination."
