"… thus, I could make her move here…" Mirii's thumb was sliding over the screen, leaving one more line behind. "… yes, this must be it." Her eyes closed. "Vira, it's time to leave those walls…"
"About time!" Vira smiled, as her knees bended.
"I will stay here, monitoring every move or attack you make." Mirii's head followed the woman's forward jump.
She turned into a Squid, while in midair, as she dived inside the green ink.
Mirii, I have successfully synchronized the computer with the Agents' communication system… albeit, only in text form. Nothing grand, but at the least the HQ will never be able to track down this activity.
"To think I even claimed to possess unmatched computer skills..." She frowned slightly. "… I can't possibly be that far away from perfection! The evidences are"
The Agents are reporting that Hun was sighted near the base!
"WHAT?!" Mirii's irises shrunk, as she frowned even more.
Don't react like this! Vira might grow a suspicion! This is not bad news, anyway: they are claiming that Hun is disrupting their base. That means Hun is successfully keeping the Stingrays at bay!
The girl had her words exploding inside her throat... as sweat covered her face.
"Mirii?" Vira's voice came from the ink. "I'm waiting your orders..."
"Make sure you cover as much ground as possible... but keep an eye on any trees and tall grasses you encounter!" Mirii's irises went on her right side. "There might be Stingrays hiding inside them!"
"Roger!" Waves came from the ink, moving over the left side.
The Agents are now reporting that the Stingrays are retreating! Members of the main team are chasing them, while others are starting to assign the various building areas to each other for patrolling reasons.
"… great…" Mirii snorted. "If the Stingrays were all focused around the hospital, we would have met a smaller resistance… luckily, Hunley is doing a great job attacking them." She smiled. "He's truly the Squid I need the most, right now…" She sighed.
As Mirii's eyes began focusing over the green ink, she lowered her device. The woman was spraying ink on the sidewalk, while standing some feet away from it. The girl took a rapid look over the lonely tree in the middle of the tall grass, before focusing back on Vira.
"That tree is tall enough to guarantee a height advantage over the enemies…" Her head lowered. "… yet, Vira is getting closer over the unknown zone."
Her thumb began sliding on the screen, as her irises pointed at it.
"This could mean that no Stingray is nowhere near us..." Her head rose, as she was seeing the Squid icon being tapped by her thumb. "... at the same time, they might be waiting for me specifically. I do have a fame for possessing a brilliant intelligence... I wouldn't be surprise, if I'm considered their primary target."
Mirii cleared her voice.
"You are getting closer to the grass. Keep your distance from it."
Uff! I was getting the hang of inking around…
"Listen to my knowledge." Her eyebrows lowered slightly. "Once you have covered the right side properly… throw a Splat Bomb over the tree."
Alright… but I'm starting to feel tired, actually.
Instinctively, the girl lifted the device in front of her face.
"I remember that Supportive Agents can check their Agents' health and emotional status…" Her thumb swiped the screen, making a whole choice of different icons pop up. "… Aga, I need to check Vira's status."
You can't do that with it.
"Curses!" Mirii frowned.
Why you want to do it?
"Hmpf… how can I expect my brawny to fully charge at the enemies, if she doesn't have the energy to do it?" Her head rose. "Of course I must monitor her status and decide my next moves based upon the facts…"
… you are really enjoying this position, don't you?
"It reminds me of my current job, Aga…" Her eyes closed. "… I'm a manager, in case you aren't aware."
Tonna told me.
Vira calling Mirii! I have tracked suspicious movement over a house!
Her head tilted to the right, watching the woman standing still and observing a 2-floor house emerged from the grass.
"Describe it!" She bended forward.
…
If one of your Agents send a message and you want to answer, you have to press the screen: the device will keep you connected, until you press the screen again.
"Bah…" The girl pushed the screen hard. "Vira, describe the suspicious movement you just saw."
It's just a shadow who was staring back at me from the window… before disappearing once I sighted it.
"… it could be a Stingray…" Mirii lowered her head. "… would they be capable of storming through someone's house…?"
What shall I do?
"… check the windows and doors." She nodded. "But first, make sure that the surroundings are safe."
I'm on it!
The woman began walking with her knees bended, reaching the house's main door. Mirii turned her head to the left, seeing the green ink and the tall grass.
The main door seems fine!
"Keep inspecting." Her head returned forward.
Her irises pointed over the nearest, tall tree on her sight… noticing a red dot coming from the group of leaves on the right.
"… gah!" Her eyes expanded.
BLAM!
Mirii tilted herself backwards, as she fell all the way down.
Plump!
She emerged back, from the green ink below, in her humanoid form.
"Cease the searches!" She frowned, looking left and right. "There is a Stingray Charger sitting on the tree!"
I noticed it! I'm already spraying ink near the tree!
"Drat!" Her head rose, watching the top of the wall. "I knew it! I'm their primary target!"
Where are you?!
Mirii pressed the screen, as it showed the compilation of various icons.
"I'm behind the wall!" Her teeth gritted.
You fell?!
"Yes… it was my last resort!" She sighed. "I cannot return to the top and see Vira…"
In times like this, you must rely on the camera feature.
"Hmm?!" Her irises shrunk. "Th-this machine has"
Press the video camera icon: your device will connect over your Agent's cameras, which are located on one earpiece each. You can still talk to her by holding down the microphone symbol on the top of the screen.
"And for what reason were you keeping this information?!" Mirii growled, as she pressed on the video camera icon.
I'm receiving and reporting the Agents' messages, I'm explaining everything I can think of, I'm giving a look on Stella, I'm preparing my judgment over your performance… do you still need to know the reason?
"… just tell me more about this feature." Mirii grimaced, now looking the screen depicting the wall of a tree being covered in green ink.
It consumes a lot of energy, so you must use it when it's truly necessary. The only way to charge the device is to connect it with an USB plug over any source of electricity.
"I see." Mirii's eyes were glued on the screen, who was zooming over the green ink.
That's all you need to know about its role. Help your Agent out, Mirii! Don't leave her alone!
Her thumb went over the microphone icon.
"Vira, I'm looking through the cameras attached to your earpieces." She bended forward, seeing nothing but green on the screen. "Listen carefully to my words and we will triumph over this fool!"
You can really do that?! Awesome! I didn't knew about such option!
"Neither did I… but don't talk while you are fighting." Her eyes squeezed a bit. "The enemy might hear…"
Understood!
The screen was suddenly showing some darkness in the air, covering the mountains of leaves.
"The Stingray could be anywhere…"
Ah!
BLAM!
Goo flew from behind, impacting over the leaves. The cameras turned together with the woman, just in time to catch a shadow jumping out of their sight.
"Don't stand still!" MIrii frowned. "Jump on the branches and identify the Stingray!"
She moved in between the leaves, crackling down some in the process. Mirii rose her thumb…
"There is a high risk of receiving an ambush, if I keep staying on the road..." Sweat covered her forehead, as her irises sniped a look to the right, before pointing back on the screen. "… it's something I cannot ignore! I must find a hiding place!"
She turned behind and watched the opened entrance.
"… Aga!" She stepped towards it. "How far can this device keep its connection?"
Depends on the environment. Normally it's slightly less than a half mile… however, if the signal encounters barriers or some sort, it will drastically reduce its power.
The screen was suddenly broadcasting still images each second!
"Thank you for the information." Mirii sighed, as she twisted behind and rush back to the wall. "What kind of obsolete technology I'm handling?!" She frowned. "I will file a complaint about such atrocity, once I'm done with this mission!"
As the girl reached the wall, goo popped out from the screen, followed by a scream.
Ow! Right on the arm!
Instantly, Mirii held down her thumb on the microphone drawing.
"Don't talk, Vira!" Her left shoulder leaned on the wall. "Try exploring the edges! Keep an eye over any red dots you catch!"
The woman groaned, as more leaves were moving against the cameras, while leaving crackling sounds.
Wh-whoa!
The screen image was now tilting all over the place!
"Is she losing her balance?!" Mirii's free hand clenched into a fist. "Grrrr… I'm directing an incompetent! That's what she"
Green ink projectiles flew forward, as they passed between the leaves… followed by a yelp.
Gotcha!
Mirii's mouth opened.
You are gonna give me the interests for that shot!
The leaves were smashing against the cameras… as they tracked down a sitting male Agent, whose green ink stains were spread all over his jacket.
"… Vira is attacked by an Agent?!" Mirii's mouth flattened.
