Lucy wasn't sure what time she woke up again but she knew that it must be getting pretty late. She sits up and looks at the clock seeing that it was 4:30. Wow I'm surprised Laxus let me sleep this late… Wait a minute, where is he?
Lucy looked all around the room, seeing a note on the table with "Princess" on the front of it. Smirking softly, she reaches for the note and reads it. Text me when you wake up beautiful.
Although Lucy loved that he called her beautiful, that didn't answer any of the millions of questions that were running through her head. Reaching for her phone on the nightstand, she texts her Dragon Slayer, hoping to get some answers.
Lucy: Where are you and what have you been doing all day?
She was surprised at how quickly she got a response, she had just barely locked her phone when she heard it beep.
Laxus: I've been keeping busy… Take a long bath and get ready, I'll be in the lobby waiting for you.
Been keeping busy? What in the hell is that supposed to mean? Lucy thought to herself as her thumbs quickly typed a reply, but his were quicker. She receives another text.
Laxus: Don't get feisty either, if I tell you it'll ruin the surprise so will you please do what I asked? I told you I had a lot planned for you today(;
Lucy's anger melted away as she saw his next text. He's probably spent all day getting ready, I should've guessed. She thought before replying to him.
Lucy: Alright, but only because you said please ️.
Once her phone was safely on the nightstand, she attempted to get out of the bed, but her lower body wasn't cooperating like it should've. Her thighs were so sore she could barely move a muscle. Slowly but surely, Lucy made her way out of the bed, no matter how bad she ached.
Lucy finally made it to the bathroom, once she looked in and saw another figure in the room she nearly screamed before she saw who it was "Uhm… Virgo? What are you doing here?"
"I think the better question is why do you look like you went to battle with a Dragon Slayer." She says with a devious smirk on her face. Virgo watched Lucy look down, realizing she was in her birthday suit, grabbed a towel and wrapped it around herself. The whole display made Virgo laugh uncontrollably "You'll definitely have to tell me about that later, but right now I'm here because your boyfriend asked me to. He wanted me to pick out an outfit for you and help you get ready for his surprise." She says with a smile. "Cancer will be here later to do your hair.
Lucy looked at Virgo, unable to comprehend exactly what was happening. He really got ahold of my spirits to help with his date? He must be going all out, Lucy thought with an amusing smile on her face before she walked over to the warm bath and got in, leaving the towel on the floor. Once her body was submerged in the warm water, all of her sore muscles immediately started to relax. The feeling was so intense that Lucy groaned in relief, knowing this was the perfect thing to get rid of the ache in her body. "Thank you so much for the bath Virgo, it's exactly what I needed.
The Celestial Spirit smiled and stood from where she was. "It was my pleasure, now if you'll excuse me I must be going, I'll leave your outfit on the bed for you." She says with a wave before exiting the bathroom, making Lucy wonder what other plans she may have.
I wonder where she's off to in such a hurry… Oh well, I shouldn't worry about it. It's probably none of my business anyway. Lucy thought before she started to take her bath. The sweet scents from the oils in the water soothed her mind and her body, allowing her to relax and close her eyes. Her mind drifting to thoughts of last night as she relaxed fully in the tub.
After about an hour, Lucy exited the bathroom. She felt refreshed and full of energy. She was about to go to the bed to look at the outfit that Virgo had picked out for her but there was a loud bang on the door.
"LUUUU-CHAN! OPEN THE DOOR RIGHT NOW MISSY!" She heard as her best friend yelled and banged on the door. Lucy was taken by surprise, but otherwise happy that she was here. She wraps the towel tightly around herself and goes to unlock the door, letting the little script mage in.
"I came to help you get ready." She says with a smile. Lucy's eyes widened at the huge bag in her hand that was more than likely full of her entire collection of makeup.
"How did you even know I was here? And when did you get all of these piercings?" Lucy asks as she gets a good look at Levy. She could feel that she had gotten considerably stronger and now she had piercings on her nose, lip, and eyebrow. Lucy also noticed that her ears were nearly lined with piercings.
Levy blushed and bit her lower lip as she thought about what had happened. "Well… uhm Gajeel and I are kind of mates now." She says with a smile. She watched as her friend was slowly comprehending what she was saying. Levy laughed and shook her head as she saw the wheels turning in Lucy's head before she looked at her in excitement, but with a still slightly confused look on her face.
"I know that that's a good thing and all… but I don't really know what you mean by "mates"" Lucy said as she shrugged.
Levy looked at her in shock, perhaps that was what Laxus was going to tell her about tonight. She didn't want to ruin the surprise for him. "Uhm… it's a Dragon Slayer thing… I'm sure Laxus will talk to you about it sometime." She says with a shrug before she smiled. "But Gajeel and I are finally together!" She says excitedly.
Lucy smiled at the bluenette before she began to wonder why Levy shrugged the subject off so easily. Maybe it's something that she thinks Laxus should tell me himself, she thought to herself. "Well I'm happy for the both of you, now let's look at the outfit that Virgo picked out for me." She says with a smile before turning and going to the bed, her jaw completely dropped at the dress that Virgo had picked out for her.
the dress looked absolutely breathtaking. The top was black with little hints of silver with beading along the sweetheart neckline. The bottom looked as if someone had taken the galaxy and painted it on. It was mostly blue with hints of pink and purple; with tiny constellations scattered throughout, Upon closer inspection, Lucy noticed that it was a corset dress. She couldn't believe how beautiful this dress was. Next to the dress we're a pair of blue heels that laced up her legs. She looked over at her best friend and she had what Lucy assumed was the same awestruck look she had on her face moments before.
"He's going to rip this dress to pieces when he sees you in it." Levy says with a smirk. Lucy looked at her best friend in shock before blushing and rolling her eyes.
"I'd like to think that he has a little more self control than that." She says, but knew that Levy was more than likely right. Lucy looks down at the dress once again and smiles, she couldn't believe she was going to wear something this amazing.
Levy laughs before she shakes her head at her best friend. "Alright let's stop gawking at this dress and get your makeup and nails done." She says with a smile.
After about an hour of getting ready, Lucy looked in the mirror with Levy. She couldn't contain her smile at how good she looked. Levy had done a perfect job as always with her makeup, and Lucy had asked Cancer to let her hair fall in loose ringlets, knowing how much Laxus loved when her hair was down. She took her hair and swooped it over her right shoulder, "What time is it?" Lucy asked.
"It's almost six, you'd better get going." Levy says with a smile. "I'm gonna head to the library, pick up some books before heading home." She says with a smile before hugging her best friend, "Go get him."
Lucy hugged her back and smiled at her, she was lucky to have such a wonderful friend. After she gets back to Magnolia, the two of them definitely needed to have a girls day. Lucy watched as Levy left before she looked in the mirror at herself one last time. Her heart was nearly beating out of her chest and the butterflies in her stomach were not making matters any better. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to think of things to help her relax.
After a few minutes, she realized it was useless. She was too anxious and nervous to see him and what he has planned. Once Lucy was out the door, she made her way to the lobby. She hoped to see him before he saw her. Walking closer to the wall as she reached the lobby, she looked around the corner.
Lucy's heart nearly stopped at the sight of him; he was sitting there, headphones on and eyes closed. He had worn his glasses for her she noticed before looking over the dark blue/gray button down shirt, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He had on a black tie and was in a pair of black slacks.
Lucy smiled as she watched him, not surprised he was probably sleeping while he was sitting there. She decides to pull out her phone and text him as she walked over to him.
Lucy: Hey sleeping beauty, you can't sleep on our date lol
She heard his phone beep in his pocket as she came to stand in front of him. He jolted in his seat, not even noticing her there as he looks at his phone. She chuckled as he looked up at her, his eyes widening as he took in what she was wearing. He quickly stood up; instead of speaking, he pulled her close to him and kissed her passionately. Her eyes fluttered closed as she wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him back just as passionately. She felt his hands snake around her waist to pull her as close to him as possible.
Once they pulled away from each other completely out of breath, Laxus tried to get his mind to uncloud enough to speak. He couldn't think straight with as beautiful as she looked. "Wow…uhm you look… wow" was all the Dragon Slayer could come up with as he looked down into her beautiful brown eyes, unable to take his eyes off of her. It was as is the entire universe had melted away and it was just the two of them standing there, sharing this moment together.
"Wow is right… That may have been the best kiss you've ever given me." She says with a smile before she kisses his cheek gently, seeming unphased by their meeting compared to how he reacted. Lucy smiled up at him, one of her hands that was around his neck made its way to his chest and rested there.
All the Dragon Slayer could do was stand there and smile down at the beautiful girl in his arms. He was fighting with his second option to skip their date all together, and just take her back up to the hotel room. As appealing as it did sound, he really wanted to take her to this festival. He knew that she would have a great time, plus that was the only way his plan was going to work. "What do you say we get out of here and head on this wonderful date I have planned." He says with a smile.
"I say that sounds perfect." She says with a smile before she pulls away from his embrace and entwined their hands together as they began to walk toward the door. Lucy couldn't stop thinking about what he had planned for their date since she was getting dressed up this nice. He had said it was a surprise, but he hadn't even given her a single clue as to what they were doing.
Once Laxus opened the door for her, he looked down and smiled at the awestruck look on her face. In front of her was one of the most magnificent sights in the world. Therrr streets were colored with blue and yellow flowers, they were also lined with vendors as far as the eye could see. Food, games, some people spray painting, music and street acts filled the main square of the town. He could see the excited look on her face as she looked around at all of this, but it quickly changed to a questioning one. "Please don't tell me you did all of this for our date… is there something going on in town?" She asks curiously.
"If I felt it was necessary to do all of this myself I would." He says with a smirk before continuing. "I'm taking you to the Starlight Festival. Come on, it's just getting started." He says with a smile, but Lucy could tell that there was something that he wasn't telling her. She decided to let it go for now, figuring it was just part of the surprise. As she was led down the streets of the festival, she started to notice a recurring theme of stars around the town. She had never heard of the Starlight Festival before, but looking around at all of the banners and flowers reminded her of something that her parents took her to when she was little.
Lucy looked down at her reflection in the water as her mother held her close to it, she took Lucy's hand and gently put it in the water. The action caused her reflection to ripple and to surprise her, making her mother chuckle behind her. Lucy looked up at her smiling face and she couldn't help but smile back at her before looking over at her father, who had just sat the paddle back in the boat and was picking up a large paper balloon with stars covering it. She stared at it with wide eyes, "Daddy, what's that for?"
Lucy's father smiled at her before holding the balloon closer to her. "Do you see all of these boats sweetheart?" He asks her, watching her look around before nodding. "All of those boats have a balloon like ours. Here in a little bit, all of these boats are going to light their balloons and let them go together."
"Why would they do that?" Lucy asks curiously as she looked up at her mother who had begun playing with her hair, braiding parts of it absentmindedly.
"Well sweetie." Lucy's mother says as she smiles at her."They're trying to light up the night sky with the balloons. It's to put back all of the stars that have fallen out of the sky. But I don't expect you to understand that now. I'll tell you all about this festival when you're older sweetheart, when you can really appreciate it." Layla kisses her daughter's head and holds her closer as they watch all of the balloons float into the night sky.
Lucy was startled out of her daydream by a pair of strong arms wrapping around her waist. She felt his lips against her ear and she shivered, "Care to tell me what you're daydreaming about? You've been in your own little world for quite a while now." He says with a chuckle, making her blush before she looked back at him.
"I was thinking that this festival looked familiar, I remember coming to something like this when I was really little with my parents before my mom died." She says as she looks around the city square filled with people. "My mom had told me back then that she would tell me what the festival meant when I was older, when I could appreciate it. But she never got to tell me because she died when I was so young."
Laxus smiled and held her close to him, assuming that this was the same festival. He kept her close as they continued to walk around the square, taking everything in. They stopped at a lot of the little places that were selling trinkets and clothing, intrigued at what they had. He would watch as her eyes lit up at she saw something she liked.
The look in her eyes was so mesmerizing, the Dragon Slayer never wanted to stop watching her shop. He leaned back against one of the pillars in the tent, absentmindedly watching his beautiful girl. I can't believe it… She's all mine. He thought with a small smile on his face.
After a while, Lucy looked back at her Dragon Slayer, seeing that he was watching her, but he had a far off look in his eyes, like he was daydreaming. "Now look who's daydreaming. We don't have to shop if it's boring you, there's plenty of other stuff to do." Lucy whispered under her breath, wondering if he would hear her since he looked like he was off in another world. She chuckled as she watched him blink and look at her smirking.
Standing back up, Laxus goes over to her and wraps his arms around her before picking up the last thing that she shad grabbed. "This was the last one you looked at, I think you liked it a lot because it took you the longest to put back down." He says with a smirk before he kissed the bewildered look off her face. "I'm having fun watching you get excited over this little shit." He says with a chuckle, holding her close.
Lucy wasn't sure how to react as she looked back down at the table, unable to hide the blush on her cheeks from him. "Wow...I uh- I guess you were paying attention." She says sheepishly before she takes one of his hands that was wrapped around her and held it as she walked him out of the tent. "I was done looking anyway, now it's your turn to pick something." She says with a smile. As she looked around, a girl at the face painting booth caught her eye with her bright pink hair.
Laxus smiled and spotted the same pink haired girl as well, only he actually knew who it was. Since Virgo wasn't facing them, the Dragon Slayer squeezed Lucy's hand and pointed over to the booth. "How about we get our faces painted?" He asks her. Lucy was surprised by the suggestion to say the least. She figured he would be one of the guys that would say he was too manly to get his face painted. But like always, he never ceased to amaze her.
As the two of them made their way to the booth, Lucy started to notice that the pink haired girl looked familiar. She was surprised to see her Celestial Spirit painting a young girl's face like a butterfly. "Virgo? What are you doing here?" She asked curiously as she watched her turn around with a huge smile on her face.
"Princess! I'm so glad you finally made it." Virgo says with a smile as she looked at the couple. She really had picked out great outfits for the both of them, they looked absolutely adorable together. Once she was finished painting the little girl's face, she watched her run off before she grabbed Lucy's hand and forced her into the chair with a smirk on her face.
"This is the Starlight Festival… It's a big festival for Celestial Wizards all around the world. Every year we come here and honor the stars that have fallen out of the sky by lighting balloons and sending them up into the sky. This year is really special for the Festival, it only happens every fifty to one hundred years. But you'll just have to wait to see it for yourself."
"I remember seeing you here when you were younger with your parents. Now stay still… I know the perfect design for you." She says with a big smile, making Lucy speechless. All she could do was smile as she looked between her spirit and boyfriend, making sure to stay still for Virgo.
"How is it that you manage to stumble on the perfect place for a date? A Festival for Celestial Wizards just happens to be in the same town this week that we're here? It's like it's too good to be true." Lucy says, unable to look away from her Dragon Slayers smiling face.
"Guess I just got lucky. Just like I did with you " Laxus says with a coy smirk.
Lucy rolled her eyes and smiled, unable to hide the blush that covered her cheeks. After about ten minutes of sitting still, she watched as Virgo pulled away from her to grab a mirror. Her eyes widened as she was shown the intricate combination of swirls and stars around her eyes and face; She looked like a Celestial Princess. "Wow… Virgo this looks amazing!"
Virgo smiles and looks at her "It's the same one that I drew on you when you were younger at the festival. I thought it would be perfect for you." She says before looking up at the Dragon Slayer with a devilish smirk. "Alright now it's your turn, but you're going to need to remove some of your clothing first."
Lucy looks at Virgo, eyes wide before she watched as her boyfriend chuckled and did as she asked. He unbuttoned his shirt to reveal a black tank underneath his shirt. He took it off along with his tie and handed them to the maiden, watching as they disappeared back to the Spirit world. "What's that devious mind of yours thinking?"
"You'll just have to wait and see." She says pulling out a blindfold, quickly leaning up and wrapping the cloth around his eyes. Laxus wasn't sure to make of this situation, and hearing the girls laughter didn't make him feel any better. "Don't worry, I just want to make sure you can't see it until I'm done since most of it won't be on your face." She says with a smirk.
The Celestial Maiden made quick work of her painting on the Dragon Slayer. Adorned with his new tribal style dragon painted on his arms and part of his chest and neck, the couple says their goodbyes before heading out of the tent. Lucy couldn't stop looking at how well the tattoo accentuated his muscles on his arm, making Laxus chuckles before kissing her temple. "You hungry?" He asks as he spotted a food vendor, his own stomach growling uncontrollably.
Lucy couldn't help but chuckle at him, but smile because of how sweet he was being. "Sounds like you're the one who's hungry here. Come on let's go." She says tugging on his hand as they head to grab a bite to eat.
After a couple of hours of exploring the festival; dancing together, riding a couple of carnival rides(at the displeasure of Laxus, but knowing it would make her happy he did it anyway), and playing some of the small carnival games that her spirits had rigged up. Laxus had an especially hard time at the games because it seemed as if the Spirits were making it purposely harder for him, as if to test his worthiness of being Lucy's boyfriend. He didn't mind in the slightest that they did this, honestly it made him feel better knowing she has so many people that love and care about her. It didn't feel like very long before the sun had set and it was time for his real surprise.
As the two wizards hold each other on the dance floor, listening to the music that Lyra was playing on the stage. Laxus couldn't help but smile as he began to think about what would take place soon, imagining the necklace around her neck. Slowly, he leans his head down and places his lips on her forehead, taking in her scent to try and relax some more; the motion sickness still affecting him slightly. "I'd say besides the damned rides you made me go on, this has been a pretty great evening."
Lucy chuckled and shook her head "I told you you didn't have to get on. You chose to get on them yourself because you didn't want me to go alone." She says with a chuckle as she looks up to the Dragon Slayer and kisses him lightly on the cheek, letting her hand run gently over the back of his neck to try to get him to relax.
"You always know how to make me feel better though, so does it really matter all that much?" He says as he slowly leans his head down and rests it on her forehead, closing his eyes. He could feel himself slowly starting to relax, the combination of the music and Lucy working her magic was nearly enough to put him to sleep.
Lucy chuckled and moved her hand from her neck into his spiky locks, running her hand gently through them. "You can't fall asleep on me now, the best part is still to come." She says with a smile before kissing him gently.
If only she knew how true that statement was… The Dragon Slayer thought as he smirked into the kiss. Suddenly, he music stopped, causing the both of them to jolt away from each other and look up curiously.
A tall man was standing at the mic with a smile on his face "I'm sorry to interrupt the festivities, but it is time to head to the lakeside! Our friends from the stars say the display is about to begin!" The announcement caused the entire crowd to cheer in excitement. Laxus smiled and picked his girl up bridal style, making every one glance as he was carrying her all the way to the docks.
Lucy wasn't sure what to think as she looked up at her Dragon Slayer who had picked her up, All she could do was snuggle closer to him and try to keep the blush from getting too dark on her cheeks. "You don't have to carry me you know, I do know how to walk." She says as she looks up at him, nearly instantly regretting the decision because of the cocky ass grin that he had on his face. "Trying to show off in front of all these guys huh?" She says with a chuckle.
The Dragon Slayers smirk only widened as he looked down at the beautiful blonde in his arms. "Gotta show them how a real man treats his girl." He says before looking down at her, giving her a kiss on her forehead. "Besides, you can't act like you don't love all of the attention you're getting." He says with a chuckle as he looks around, seeing how many people were glancing back at the two of them.
Lucy takes that moment to look away and see for herself, her eyes widening as she saw nearly every person was watching the two of them at one point or another. All the Celestial Wizard could do was smile and wrap her arms around her Dragon Slayer, occasionally glancing around to look at the people walking. Lucy's eyes widened as she thinks she sees a familiar head in the crowd. Is that… Wendy?
Laxus looks down at Lucy, seeing that she was concentrating particularly hard on something. She kept staring at this girl with blue hair that kind of looked like…Wait, was that Wendy? Laxus thought for a moment. It was then he looked down and saw a pair of short white legs that looked a lot like the Exeed that the girl had. Thank Mavis she's here… "Oi Wendy!" The Dragon Slayer called and watched as the bluenette jumped in surprise before turning around.
Wendy smiled brightly at the two wizards, surprised she hadn't known they were there. She waved at them happily and walks over to them. "Hey guys! What are you doing here?" She asks excitedly, noticing that Laxus was holding Lucy in his arms, but chooses not to mention it.
"We were in town for a mission and Laxus decided to take me." Lucy says with a smile before she looks at the docks that they were nearing, thinking of his motion sickness. "Hey Wendy, would you mind using your magic to help with his motion sickness?" She asks as she hops out of his arms, much to the surprise of her Dragon Slayer.
"Of course." She says, smiling before she raised her hands and used her magic on him. I bet they're on a date while they're here… Does this mean that he's going to ask Lucy to be his mate? Oh I'm so excited for them! I wonder if anyone else knows? She wondered as she finished up. "You're all good to go."
"Thanks Wendy… you're a real life saver." You have no idea.. Laxus says with a warm smile that surprised the smaller Dragon Slayer a little, but she returned the smile none the less before she felt Carla poking at her.
"I know you want to talk Wendy; but we need to go, we're next." Carla says, taking Wendy's hand and pulling her along.
"Well gotta go guys, I'll see you later! Have fun on your date!" She says with a smile before turning away from the two wizards.
"How in the hell did she know?" Laxus says, surprised as he took Lucy's hand and lead her to the next boat.
"Maybe it was the fact that when she first saw us, you were carrying me." Lucy says with her Really? Dumb ass... face, making the other blonde chuckle in embarrassment. Once he got in, he grabbed her by the waist and put her in the boat, holding her close before placing her down. Lucy blushed and looked at him as he sat down, leaning over to give him a small kiss as a thank you.
Laxus smiled at her and winked before he grabbed the ores from the people above and began to row on his own, giving Lucy a wonderful view as she stared. Thankful there were a lot of stars out tonight, making it bright enough to see his muscles working as he rowed over to a spot toward the middle of the lake. "Liking the view over there?" He asks with a chuckle.
"It's perfect." She says with a wink before she turns her attention to the water, seeing all of the stars refecting like little sparkles on the lake. She couldn't remember seeing a more beautiful night sky in all of the years that she has spent under the stars and she was glad she gets to share it with him. How did I get so lucky? He's every woman's dream; handsome, strong, great personality when he decides to show it, and to top it off he's fantastic in bed. The man that said he'd never sleep with a girl more than once had found a girl he thought was worth keeping, and it's me. Lucy thought as she smiled, running her fingers through her hair as she watched them slow to a stop before looking up at the sky. "There's so many stars out tonight." She says with a bright smile
"Yea, it's really something." He says with a smile as he glances up at the stars for a moment. Once they were stopped, The Dragon Slayer reached behind himself to find the box the necklace was in. She had given it to Leo earlier and he had placed it in the boat, he wanted to make sure that it was where he had told him to put it. Once he felt the velvet of the box, he felt a small sigh of relief flow through him. Alright… now's the time… He thinks before he looked at his beautiful girlfriend, noticing she was still distracted by the night sky.
It took Lucy a while to figure out that she was being watched by her Dragon Slayer, she gives her neck a break and looks at him with a bright smile. "Thank you so much for bringing me here, this has been the perfect first date." She watches as he gives her a heart stopping smile before he leans closer to her and takes her into his arms, pulling her into his lap before giving her a breathtaking kiss.
Just as she pulled away from him to say something, the sky lit up in shooting stars as far as the eye could see. Lucy watched in awe as she feels the lips she was just kissing travel down her jaw before trailing back up to her ear. "Quite a sight isn't it? Happens once every hundred years or so, this town is the best place to watch it from so they host this festival with the help of the Celestial Spirits." He says with a smile before kissing her ear.
"It's… it's breathtaking." She says, unable to take her eyes off of the sky, she leans against Laxus and runs her hand along his arm gently as they watch the display together. After the sky had cleared of shooting stars, she turned her attention to her Dragon Slayer, who had been running his nose along her neck.
Laxus looked up into Lucy's beautiful brown eyes, getting lost in them like he nearly always did. "How did I get so lucky?" He whispered before leaning in for a gentle kiss, one hand cupping her cheek while his thumb stroked it gently. Once he pulled away from the kiss, he looked down into her eyes and smiled. "I have something for you." He says before pulling the necklace box from underneath him. He takes a deep, steadying breath before continuing.
"I've been a Dragon Slayer for most of my life, and it has taken you to help me realize what part of that meant. I knew all about the magic and the awesome power it gave me; but what I didn't know was that being a Dragon Slayer would help me find the woman of my dreams." He gives her a small wink as he continued." I realized after my talk with Gajeel this morning that there's a reason that I'd only sleep with a girl once. I found out after being with them one night that they weren't the one for me."
"I told you how I truly felt last night, but I didn't know what that truly meant until this morning. While you were sleeping, I went to Gajeel's to help him train and he told me a lot about Dragon Slayers I didn't know. Like the fact that even though I'm a second generation Dragon Slayer I still have the instinct to mate like the others, I assumed for so long that I didn't because I just had Dragon Slayer Magic from a stupid lacrima in my head." He says as he looks at her with a soft smile "Now I know why I can't get you off my mind, I haven't been able to since the day I walked back into the guild." He says before placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.
"Dragon Slayers only choose one mate for life" He says before putting the necklace boxes in her lap. "This necklace is a token of my love and devotion to you. If you choose to accept it, it starts the Dragon Slayers mating ritual. It has my magic inside of it so that you can always have a part of me with you." He says before looking down into her tear filled eyes. His eyes widened in concern, but before he could ask what was wrong, his lips were being captured in a passionate kiss the likes of which he had never hands found their way to his hair and he groaned before he pulled away panting. "I'm taking that as a yes?" He says with a nervous smile.
"Of course it's a yes." Lucy smiles before she takes the top box and opens it, seeing his necklace. The dark wood being accented by the bright gold lightning looked so intriguing. She slowly ran her hands over the necklace, feeling electricity on her fingertips. "So… what exactly does this entail?"
Laxus could only smile back at the beautiful girl in his arms before he flipped the boxes and opened up the second one, watching as her mouth fell open in awe at the sight of her necklace. Taking the necklace between his fingers, "Well, by the time we leave the festival and go back to our hotel..." The Dragon Slayer let his fingers graze over her chest and neck on his way to clasp the necklace around her. "The necklaces will have taken on their full effect, and from what I've heard it's a little… overwhelming at first." He says with a chuckle
Lucy couldn't believe the size of the diamond it must have taken to make that key that had the Dragon around it. The necklace was absolutely breathtaking and once he put it on her, it was like she could feel his magic around her.
It was a warm feeling that made her feel safe, she could tell that he felt the change as well. Lucy couldn't help but smile and lean back against him before kissing his jaw, her head resting against him as she takes a hold of his hand. His fingers moved along hers, sending tingles along her arm and over her body. Wow… Is this how it's going to feel everytime he touches me?
Looking down at their hands, Laxus smiled and kissed her ear. "I love you Lucy." He says softly to her before he looks around and sees that they're the only boat still in the water. With a laugh, the Dragon Slayer grabs the ores and begins to row them back to shore.
Lucy looked to see what had made her boyfriend laugh; as she turns and sees that they're the only boat in the water, she couldn't help but chuckle herself. "I love you too." She whispered softly as she held onto him.
