There is no other way, Mirii. You said that Hun was injured, right?
"Y-yes..." Mirii nodded.
You said that Vira is severely wounded, right?
"Of course..." She re-nodded again.
Then, you are their only means of defense. What else would you like to do in a situation like this?
Mirii opened her mouth, as air entered inside it. She looked down at the woman, who was yelping faintly. Her eyes moved away fast, as she noticed a large door composed by wires and uncountable smaller doors on its surface. Something orangish was present on it, as well.
Anything to say regarding my advice?
"... I don't mind arming myself, Aga..." The girl's head rose. "However, you must consider the current situation: if I take Vira's weapon, then I would have to keep Hunley on one arm. I'm positive that I cannot aim my shots as precisely as I do when I wield any weapon with both hands... n-not to mention, th-the Stingrays might hit Hunley more if I"
Is Hun really that hurt? Can't he
"He's injured!" Mirii frowned. "No, there is nothing we can do... I must bring him to the hospital and"
"Mirii... I'm feeling better..." He inhaled and exhaled the air deeply. "We have to save that woman..."
"You must recover fully, Hunley." Her hug tightened. "You and Vira... both of you need medical attention at all costs." Her eyes closed. "Luckily, we know the exit of this vessel… it's only a matter of time before I brilliantly find the proper way of unlocking that"
Hun slid off Mirii's grasp, as she reopened her eyes just as fast. He was slowly sliding towards the woman-
"HUNLEY!" She dashed, stretching her arms sideways. "What are you thinking?!"
The Squid returned back into his humanoid form, as he jumped past the woman and turned over the girl once his feet touched the ink stain.
"Mirii…" He panted a bit. "I can help…"
As the girl halted, she swung her right arm from the left and scowled.
"You can barely talk to me!" She folded her arms. "You are exhausted, Hunley… with your current status, you will never"
"Pl-please…!" Sweat jumped out from his head, as he panted some more. "We… are Agents! Agents save the innocents…!"
"You and Vira are also innocents…" Her eyes squeezed slightly. "Innocents who must be saved as soon as possible."
Hun frowned slightly.
"Think about it, Mirii…" He sniffed deeply. "… would you really leave an innocent in the hands of the Stingrays?"
Suddenly, Mirii's mind was seeing several images who flashed before her eyes… all depicting adult Inkling scientists. Her mouth opened, as her arms freed themselves without resistance.
"Th-they could torture her… actually, they might even started doing that!" As he panted, he bended on his knees. "W-we went this far, Mirii… we can't retreat just because you think I'm not well…!"
Mirii's mouth sealed… as her head rose.
"I shouldn't have doubted the words of wisdom…" She smiled for a brief second. "At the same time, underestimating the situation is a risk we shouldn't ignore…"
She looked away, identifying stairs leading over the upper floor.
"What would it be the true solution behind such predicament…?" She sighed. "What shall I do, now…? Now that I know this additional information…?"
"I-I'm still strong enough to lift Vira and carry her with us!" His hands went under the Agent's laid side, as he morphed a small smile. "Watch!"
His arms extended, as his eyes expanded and his mouth flipping into a flat line.
"… eh eh eh!" A sweat drop appears behind his head, as he resumed his now-bigger smile. "Maybe not as strong as before… bu-but I can still do that!" He nodded twice. "Give me one minute!"
Mirii couldn't help but to raise her eyebrows…
"Vira does look heavier than the average woman… could it be because of her above-average height?" Her eyes blinked once. "… in any case, I finally know which solution we must adopt."
The girl walked towards the woman's weapon… as she lowered down and captured it by its handle.
"Hunley." She twisted over the boy. "Could you please hand me over Vira's Ink Tank?"
"Ink Tank…?" His head tilted downwards. "Is that… thing?" He pointed his forefinger over the woman's tank.
"Precisely." Mirii smiled, as her eyes inspected over the clutched firearm. "It looks fine… just a little scratch over its left wall." Her left forefinger landed on the targeted element. "It should still be functional…"
Have you found Vira's weapon?
"Yes, I did." Her head pointed over her ally. "It only has"
"OW!" Vira's head tilted upwards, while compressing her eyes. "THAT HURTS!"
Hun jumped backwards, as he quickly brought his hands up. Mirii sealed her mouth, now observing the two…
"S-sorry!" Sweat covered his forehead. "I-I was just trying to take off that ink container or whatever you call it…!"
The woman groaned, as she let her left cheek impact on the ink stain.
"Allow me to do it." Her shoulders wiggled, releasing a yelp at the smallest movement.
"A-are you sure…?" Hun downturned his mouth, thrusting his arms in the direction of the adult Inkling.
Vira shook her head, as she managed to let a tank strap slip off her left shoulder… and eventually, making the remaining strap slip off in a similar matter. The Ink Tank rolled away from her back, as the boy rushed and aimed at the freed item.
He carefully stopped, wrapping his arms around the Ink Tank and showing it to Mirii. The girl smiled, as she nodded.
"Now, bear that item over here." She gave a quick look over her left side, glancing that large door again. "… I wonder why no Stingray arrived yet…"
Were you saying something about Vira's weapon?
"… nothing worth knowing." The girl's head rose. "Just a scratch found on the weapon."
That would actually be a worthy information… for the HQ, at least.
Mirii snorted. Hun halted in front of the girl, carrying the Ink Tank in front of her chest.
"They better not punish Vira over an insignificant scratch…" She brought her weapon in between her knees, as she latched on the Ink Tank instead.
Yes. Speaking of her…
The girl wore her Ink Tank, now laying on her back.
… I found some extra information related to her.
"You will reveal it, once we are outside the vessel." She recovered the holding weapon, now properly grabbing it with both her hands.
Are you sure? The extra information is very interesting… at least in my opinion.
"… the Headquarters did hid most of Vira's information, according to Aga…" The girl swiftly pointed her weapon diagonally up, as a cocking sound rose from it. "I wonder what this newly found data is all about…" Her eyebrows slightly lowered.
Apparently… she's one of the few Agents who received a good deal of grants over various permissions and vacation requests.
"... I see." Mirii nodded.
Considering the ongoing situation, it might be wise to check out those classified information. I will work on it… in the meantime, be careful out there.
"Understood." She nodded again.
Her eyes landed on the woman, who was still resting on her ink stain, while leaning on her left side.
"… I might have the solution for this next predicament."
