"This should be enough."

Mirii had her posture boosted, letting a delicate sigh flee without resistance. The expanse of ink overtook every corner and side of the floor, counting the lonely box. Her eyes went quick over the non-claimed area, as a light scowl was hinting its arrival.

"Even though I'm holding an immense movement advantage... I'm not holding the information advantage."

Her lips flexed to the right.

"If only I have a map who's capable of revealing anyone nearby..."

Her eyes grew slightly.

"I almost forgot!" She smiled, snagging her device with her right, free hand. "I can track down both Hunley and Vira, thanks to this essential tool"

Her mind echoed the perception of her eyes: a little green Squid wrapped in her fingers.

"Ha ha ha haaa! Like that how would you, Squid?! You, it is!"

"… not even the right of learning the position of my friends." Her head tended on the ceiling, as the hints of frown became certainty. "I have never encountered such ruthless, pathetic, cowardly adversary who spends her resources to torture the others."

"Enemies, we are… it, you deserve."

Mirii snorted, responding with wide-shaking head movements…

"I will gladly apply the same logic you just pronounced." She stored the littler herself in her clothing, seizing her weapon with both hands and cocking it loudly. "You will soon learn to not pose as an obstacle in front of perfection."

With her mind transmitting the appearance of her allies and an intense energy flowing through her veins, the girl marched in the direction of the unconquered piece of area.

"Now that I own an important amount of turf, I might have the occasion of adopting more combative tactics… while still paying attention over my surroundings, obviously."

She shot ink bullets, as the first ones landed inside the laid ink… while the next ones successfully went over it and landed on the unclaimed floor.

"… the thirst is still present…" She gulped silently. "That must be also considered in my fighting plans… not as much as I initially thought, thankfully."

Vira calling Mirii…

Her feet freeze and her thoughts shuffled. Instantly, her left hand was holding the smaller Squid self, bearing it right below her visive attention.

"… I can't see anything, even when Vira is calling me!" She snorted. "Although, I can communicate with her if I touch the screen… …"

She shivered.

"A-am I supposed to touch my own eyes?!" She rose her shoulders. "Th-that's"

Mirii…! S-say something to me, please!

Her head shook in less than a second, as she frowned at the illusion.

"It's just an inaccurate image of myself! I don't have those deformed curves or those unpolished tentacles!"

As she grimaced, her left thumb rose high.

"A disgrace over my refined persona!"

The thumb swung, swooping through the immobile eyes. The tip felt a glassy, delicate texture…

"Vira." Mirii focused ahead, noticing a turn in the distance.

Oh YES! I-I knew it!

The girl smiled a bit, taking the opportunity to put away her disguised device and clutch her hardware properly.

Mirii, how are you? Did that witch hurt you...?

"I'm fine, thanks." She nodded. "Is Hunley with you?"

Yes... he's guarding me, actually. I wanted to contact you as soon as you fell into that trap... but we encountered Stingrays coming from that closed door...! ... wait a sec.

"Th-they knew...!" She grimaced, as she pressed the weapon's trigger and fired ink shots ahead. "They were waiting for my wrong move...!"

Back. Hun keeps watching that door, thinking that the Stingrays might arrive in any seconds... although, he jumped and smiled when I told him about you.

"D-did he!?" Mirii blushed, as her feet flattened the older ink and spread the newer one on the floor.

… eh eh… you cannot wait to return to him, eh?

"Vira!" Her neck lifted, as she lowered her eyebrows and focused towards the incoming turn. "I'm in the middle of a fight, currently… tell me more about your situation."

Perhaps, when you are not fighting… right now, you might get

"I clearly said to be alright." Her head rose, attentively crossing the reaching right turn. "To add on the statement, I'm also capable of multitasking…"

Fine… when you fell down, the Stingrays came from that locked door you inspected earlier on. He was still hugging me, at the time… he made a desperate escape, waving me all around as if I was a box!

"Forgive him, please." Her face saddened.

I have no reason to hate him, Mirii... in fact, he was cute when he went all that trouble to protect us...

Her feet solidified. The following hallway was out of her focus, as hints of darkness appeared on her face.

He might look so far from our society… but he is quite charming in his own way.

"... don't forget, Vira..." She snorted, lifting her shut weapon next to her chest. "You are injured. Probably on the head too..."

Actually, not on the head... at all.

"Hmpf!" She frowned. "You shouldn't force it at all, in any case... you might end up committing a gaffe who will penalize you in the long term."

... what are you talking about?

"Sigh...!" Her head shook. "Vira, keep an eye over yourself..." She separated her right hand from the weapon's handle, extracting her device with it. "Over."

Th-this soon?! Hey! We

"I said to keep an eye over yourself!" Her thumb was shaking above the unfocused eyes of the drawing. "I have a battle to perfectly conduct!"

… sorry, you are right yet again.

"I'm always right!" She growled. "Unlike you, who are an imbecile that exterminates witnesses out of pure rage!"

Hey, HEY! What is gotten into you?! Why are you getting

"OVER!" Her thumb dived into her eyes, perceiving the thin glass. "Moron…!" Her eyes compressed slightly, while putting her device away.

Are you crazy?! Vira calling Mirii!

"Grrrr…!" Her right hand pulled her headphones with strength.

The peripherals also went in the same place as her device: whispers were emerging from her clothes…

"She really can't stop talking!" The free hand joined the other, as the girl marched. "Such a primitive, stupid"

Her eyes expanded.

"… Hunley is with her… sh-she might…!"

Her feet stopped again, immediately recovering both headphones and device, after carrying her weapon in between her legs.

MIRII!

Her left hand was holding the device, while her right fingers were inserting each earpiece in the relative ear. Once the left earpiece entered inside the left ear, Mirii tapped the middle of the Squid image again, as she formed sweat on her forehead.

"F-forgive me!" She exhaled plenty of air from her mouth, storing the device yet again. "I... I-I was observing the battle field!" She swallowed visibly, holding her weapon with both her hands. "I-I'm alone... w-without any trusty ally t-to count one..."

... Mirii...

"Wh-what?" Mirii bended forward, as sweat was descending from her forehead.

Did I said something... wrong?

"I-I already said the reasons!" She breathed loudly. "Wait... I-I'm seeing someone...!"

You do? Well, then... be careful out there.

"... thank you." Her eyes closed. "Just in time... I wouldn't know what to do, if Hunley would know"

As her eyes concentrated, a shadow was leaning over the behind of a box located in the distance.

"... the runaway target I was looking for." She frowned, relaxing at the same time. "Odd that she hasn't used her goo... although, I'm not sure how she would use it at her own advantage."

She resumed her shooting frenzy, advancing thoroughly and aiming over every inch of the ground. A closer box was on the left, which was placed right in front of a closed door. Mirii's head was tilted in its way, while still firing with slightly less attention that earlier...

"... that idiot really thinks to outsmart me?" She shifted the muzzle over the box. "Tsk! Such obvious stupidity!"

The shot ink flew over the box... passing right through it! Mirii smiled.

"As I predicted... no tricks can confuse perfection." Her eyes closed, increasing her smile a bit more. "This is truly the gift for those worthy Squids who"

Hun! Watch out!

The girl gasped.

"HUNLEY?!" Her irises shrunk.

G-go get them...! ... uff... s-so fatigued...

"Vira!" She frowned, while proceeding towards the box. "Describe me the situation!"

Hunley is fighting against three Stingrays! He is

"Hun!" A vein popped out from her forehead. "His name is Hun!"

Eh... but you

"I AM the original creator of the relative nickname!" She dived inside the box. "Thus, I'm the only one who's authorized to"

L-leave me alone!

...

Mirii reached the front of the door, not hesitating to lay her hand on its handle.

Boom.

"Did she hit her enemy...?" The girl pushed the door, instantly recognizing a table in the middle of the short room.

Ugh...! As if I didn't had any more pain than this...!

Mirii scanned with her vision, noticing a cupboard on the right wall and a desk on the left side: a computer was sitting on it, coupled with its keyboard and speakers situated behind its monitor.

Yes! You did it, Hun...!

The girl couldn't help but tapping the floor with her tiptoes, while releasing a little cry and a wide smile.

You are still listening to me, Mirii?

As she stopped her taps, she lifted her posture and folded her arms.

"Yes, I am..." She nodded. "I'm inside a room, right now. I could search for information connected to the vessel's exit door..." She scowled. "... but that Stingray might use another one of her distortions in order to"

Suddenly, a cold element pressed on her back: the Stingling woman was grinning, letting a snicker pass through her teeth. Instictively, Mirii's free hand went over her device…

"… I will try calling you later." She pressed on its screen.

"Victory... is me!"
