"Ha ha ha haaaa! Stupid Squid, you are! Illiterate better, she is! Never learn, you!"

Mirii's head rose.

"... and what reason would you have to simply keep your gun on my back, instead of shooting that disgusting goo over my persona?"

"Because of taunting!" The enemy snickered. "You say it like that, yes?"

Her head shook slowly...

"We do not talk like primitives, you ignorant." She grimaced. "I suggest learning our language, before insinuating any 'taunts' towards my disliking..."

"Ha! Stupid language I would never learn fully!" She chuckled, pushing her weapon a bit more. "Stupid Squid who caught her down guard!"

A vein popped out from the girl's forehead... as she suddenly shifted into a Squid, while the insticts of the woman made her pull the trigger and shot her goo projectiles overhead.

As Mirii twisted back into herself, she swung her foot and hit both the adversary's weapon and her hand. The Stingray yelped, holding the injured hand and directing her yelps over the ceiling, while keeping her eyes closed. The weapon bounced and flipped continuously, until it impacted over the wall.

Mirii's right cheek and forehead had some goo on it. As she showed her frown, her hands joined the weapon's handle and aimed the ink ammo over the yelling target. The woman dashed in a twist, avoiding the projectiles who formed a green path behind her feet.

The alien words echoed through the room, as Mirii dipped in her own ink and chased after the fugitive.

"You fool!" Mirii exited her ink under her humanoid form, shooting more ink and running. "Your presumption was the reason why I perfectly gained the upper hand!"

"Presumption...? ..." Stingret gasped loudly. "You! Knew you!"

The girl blended inside her ink, once again, while sliding after her opponent.

"You thought I would be drawn into a hidden room, hoping that my curiosity would suppress my concentration and allow your soldier to easily deliver her ambush... hmpf!"

The girl rose from her ink, rushing through a corridor of rectangular boxes and some doors. The woman panted, sometimes looking behind her and shouting the same exact unknown words. Once there was a nice stretch of ink, Mirii dived back as a Squid and proceeded.

"I didn't predict your warrior's illogical decision, who granted me the possibility of utilizing my effective counter-attack... I would had triumphed the fight in any case."

"You, whyyyy..."

"Countenance reality: your tricks succumbed in front of my immense knowledge." She remerged, shooting more ink out of her hardware and sprinting. "Admit defeat while you still have the possibility."

"Countenance? That what is?"

Mirii rose her irises for a short period of time.

"I should have known..." She sighed. "I meant 'Accept reality'." She immerged again and slide within her ink.

"Sgrunt!" A bonking sound blasted in the air. "Still in game, I am! To the teeth armed myself, I am."

"Bah!" Two little waves were still advancing towards the tip of the stretched ink line. "Ignoring her words would be the best strategy to apply. ..." Sweat drops appeared in between the waves. "N-nnnggh...! H-hold it for just a bit longer, Mirii...!"

She reappeared as her taller self, while keeping her legs a bit closer than usual. The woman was aiming to the right, as she was caught opening a door and entering inside its room.

"It's my chance!" Her mouth shaped as a little o. "Good shots... it's all I require, in order to record another sophisticated performance in my status book!"

She kept firing her ink projectiles, while gluing her sight onto the revealed room.

"Don't forget to pin down the territory..." She panted, as her lips went inside her mouth. "... aaah, why such embarrassing moments must happen during any missions?!" Sweat conquered her forehead. "I should invest over a solution that repeals this... inconvenience."

The girl arrived, not hesitating at firing some more ink at the floor, past the room's entrance. As she properly faced the intern, she immediately tracked down the Stingray looking over a tall collection of different weapons, laid each on one of the many shelves who composed the steel rack: she leaned over the firearm situated to the right side... before lifting back her posture.

"Freeze!" She thrusted her weapon, squeezing her legs a bit more.

The woman pronounced a loud word, before running as if she got pushed from the back. She turned her shoulders in the same way.

BUMF!

The arms flexed fully, going above and beyond the interested weapons. Her stomach, who flattened in contact with a shelf's iron edge, sprung herself backwards. Her feet tapped fast, but slipped: she landed on her bottom. The steel rack was gradually displaying a growing oscillating movement... while the Stingray just barely hoisted her vision.

Mirii's mouth opened wide, letting a gasp leave in the process. She dashed, subconsciously keeping her attacking companion close to her chest. The foe enlarged her eyes, learning the increasingly motion caused upon the rack: some of the Splattershot-like firearms slid off their shelves, meeting the ground without resistance.

The woman's legs felt like rocks and her breath went lost, despite her mouth being opened as wide as possible. Her arms moved in front of her face, as she felt diving inside her memories. The rack was finally tilting in the direction of the floor... suddenly, the girl grabbed her with both her arms, carrying her over the left side.

KATATAPOOOOOWWW!

Weapons flew out of their shelves, either landing on the floor or reaching the desk, the walls, the cupboards or one of the plants… Mirii left the grasp, turning into a Squid and rolling over her right side. She resumed her form, sitting down on the floor.

The girl kept breathing loudly, laying her hand palms on the floor and watching the declined rack. The Stingray was also breathing in a similar manner… leaning her back against the wall: her face was as pale as the color of the relative dam.

"… one second later and she would have been… … wait." Her irises shrunk slightly. "Where is my weapon?"

Her head went on her left, first, seeing a Charger weapon broken in a half… it was positioned near the room's corner. Her head went on her right, seeing her own weapon sitting right next to the Stingray's feet. Mirii gasped, observing the woman touching the related firearm with her left foot's left side.

Curiously, her head aimed over its way…

"C-CURSES!" Gritting her teeth, Mirii was jerkily getting herself up…

The enemy's left hand managed to claim the abandoned weapon, wrapping its handle with her fingers. Mirii yelped under her breath, pressing over the wall while lifting herself up… but the woman simply picked herself up, while holding Mirii's means of ranged attack.

"N-no!" The girl finally stood on her feet, raising her eyebrows on her forehead. "Nnnnnggghh!" Sweat dominated her face.

The Stingray commenced her walk… while grasping the weapon. Mirii took shy back steps, swallowing silently and lowering her head… before she knew it, her back met the wall. Her arms cemented themselves onto the vertical surface, her legs pressed themselves even harder… as the woman was now standing some feet away from Mirii.

She was still for some seconds, maintaining her sight over the Inkling… all the sudden, her mouth formed a smile.

"It's yours…" The arms lengthened, as her hands formed a platform where the weapon was now laying without an owner.

…

"E-excuse me?!" Mirii's mouth flattened.

"Pick it up, please." The woman nodded, smiling a bit more. "It's yours."

The girl's eyes could not grow another inch. Her mind filled itself with various thoughts… as the eyebrows went all the way down, almost meeting her expanded eyes.

"You… do you really think that your tricks will work against I, Mirii Hanache, who's a"

"Tricks no!" The woman downturned her mouth. "No no no, no tricks." She took one more step closer. "Weapon… it's yours." She bowed, while still maintaining her arms elongated. "Please, take it."

…

"Does she… really want to deliver m-my weapon back?!" Her eyes blinked.

"You deserve… I was in the wrong." The Stingray sighed.

"Hmm?" Mirii's eyes squeezed slightly.

"Yes… I was in the wrong." The woman lifted her posture, now bending her elbows instead. "Me and my thoughts about you…"

Mirii left the wall, folding her arms.

"… what did you thought exactly?" Her head rose.

"Lies." She frowned slightly. "Words about you, Squids… untrue and mean." She nodded in a similar manner. "I was being told lies… and I believed them."

Her eyes went slightly watery.

"They said… Squids are evil." The watery effect increased. "They have fun hurting Stingrays… they are the reason of trouble… they will always be our enemies… … but that WAS LIE!" She bended forward, as a tear fell from her left eye. "THEY SAID SQUIDS WOULD NEVER SAVE US… BUT YOU DID! YOU SAVED MY LIFE!"

Mirii's arms freed, as her hands opened and her back slightly tilted backwards. Her mouth was a bit open and her eyebrows rose. The woman aimed her eyes over the ceiling, as tears were descending over her cheeks.

"YOU!" Her forefinger pointed in the same direction. "YOU MADE ME BELIEVE IN LIE! YOU WANTED ME SPLAT A TRUE FRIEND! HOW YOU COULD!"

Unheard words roared from the corners of the room. The Stingray began shouting terms who fell in the same category, as she sobbed and growled.

"I-I… … no… th-this cannot be an act!" The girl's jaw dropped. "She is truly fighting her commander!"

"BE NOT CHICKEN!" The Stingray's hands pointed over Mirii. "APOLOGIZE!"

"Wh-what?!" Her tentacles skyrocketed.

"… big mistake, you are making… what this means, you know…"

The Stingray shouted even more unknown words, this time almost throwing Mirii's weapon at the ceiling.

"Carefully, you think… second chance, there is none…"

"I DON'T CARE!" Her free hand drenched her tears, sobbing once more. "I HATE YOU! I ENOUGH OF YOUR MEAN! I ENOUGH OF YOUR LIES! I ENOUGH OF FALSE HATE!"

She inhaled the air loudly…

"YOU ARE TRULY SHIP PIECE!"

She lowered her head, crying loudly. The young Inkling kept watching… as she took one step-

"Scarlet. No longer one of us, you are. Enemy of Stingrays, you are…"

…

"… f-fine!" She sniffed, looking back at the ceiling, while her eyes were slightly red. "I HAVE TRUE FRIEND, THIS TIME!"

Her head twisted in the direction of Mirii…

"True friend..." She smiled a bit. "… thank you for saving me."
