Scarlet was grabbing two papers, written in the known Inkling language, from the little table residing in between the sofa and the television screen. As the woman was inspecting those, she let her bottom meet the settee, sighing once she impacted over its soft cushions.
She smiled, reading the words mentally. As her left hand was holding both papers, her right hand went onto the pillow in the right edge, caressing it delicately. After a few seconds, she folded the papers and stored them inside her own clothing.
Voices were coming from her left side, together with step sounds. As the woman's head turned to her left, she first glanced at Vira who pushed the door fully and entered inside the room, followed by Hun: behind him, a group of Inkling men and women came right after, each wearing their respective Protective Suit.
"There she is…!" Vira pointed her finger over Scarlet, keeping her eyebrows up. "The friendly Stingray who helped us!"
"Scarlet is name." She smiled at the group of Inklings, still petting the pillow. "Meet you, my pleasure. Friends with Mirii, yes?"
"Yep!" Vira smiled, carrying her right wrist onto her right hip. "Even though we just became friends today...!"
"Wh-where is she?" The Inkling boy had his mouth downturned, as he inclined himself left and right, seeing nothing but the wall and the known room's belongings. "Sh-she came in here, right...?"
"She chased Stingret, there." The Stingray pointed over the marble slab, while mantaining her smile. "Little Squid is very strong and can defeat the taller opponent."
"I wouldn't be so sure about that." The front man frowned upon the explaining ally. "Even a genius can be manipulated by tricks..."
"Mirii is smarter, she can manipulate tricks and destroy them!" Scarlet stood up, smiling a bit more. "She is also wise and role model for others."
"... unbelievable..." Vira shook her head slowly. "A Stingray who compliments over a Squid...!"
"I know right!" The Inkling woman, positioned on the front man's right side, scowled. "Is she even one?!"
"I was..." Scarlet chuckled. "... I took off the effects and deactivated the machine that control tricks. Experimental rays included."
"... you have many things to explain, Miss Scarlet..." The man took one step forward. "... but right now, you have to open that wall for us."
"Only Stingret knows." The Stingray lowered her shoulders. "Wall leads to secret area, which is not told by her..."
"How come?" The man folded his arms, still grasping his own weapon with his left hand. "You are all"
"Let's hurry up already!" The Inkling woman marched past the front man, while holding her sight glued onto the slab. "We will find the mechanism in one way or the another."
"I fully agree!" Hun brought his eyebrows down, following the Agent. "Perhaps, I-I can bring it down with my own strength..."
"Pfff!" Vira went past the walking guy, managing to carry her hand in front of his chest, as she proceeded after the newly-leading woman. "You are too cutie to use raw strength against that heavy thing..."
"Wh-why are you calling me cutie?!" Hun halted, as he blushed and showed a frown too.
"Because you are so adorable when you slid all around in your Squid form!" Vira giggled. "And your below-average height, for a male Inkling, makes you charming even under your normal self."
"H-hey!" Hun's scowl and mantling increased.
"But really... leave the huge work to me!" Vira lifted her own sleeves, as she passed Scarlet without too much notice. "That improvised meal we found inside that Stingray kitchen, truly gave me a boost... and that quick snack provided by the Agents, let me recover all my lost energy!"
Vira stretched her arms sideways, watching the prominent Agent locking her feet right next to the slab.
"You are not seriously thinking to punch this wall down... right?" The talking woman rose her shoulders, shivering in place. "Th-that's crazy!"
"Can she do that?!" Scarlet's eyes expanded. "Wall is no joke!"
"I think I will hurt my hands like mad, if I try punching this thing down..." Vira placed herself in front of the mentioned target. "... but kicking will not hurt my foot, considering the fact that I'm wearing solid shoes."
"Th-that is...!" Scarlet tilted herself backwards, carrying her fists closer to her chest. "... c-can you do that?!"
"Just watch." The front man smiled, approaching the front of the shy Stingray. "Vira is one of our special Agents for a reason!"
"This young boy is also one of our special Agents...!" One of the Agent women left behind, arrived near the man's right side, stopping immediately after. "And we 5 are regular ones who wish to have a special ability for the good of our own society..."
"You are special!" Scarlet chuckled. "All Squids are special! Friends of Mirii, also my friends!"
Vira swung a kick towards the slab.
PAAAAF!
The Stingray jumped, properly turning her sight onto the introduce Agent: while Vira brought her right foot backwards, Scarlet tracked down a huge crack on the slab, as small pieces of it fell down.
"W-wow...!" Her eyes almost popped out.
The strong woman engaged another kick, who hit the cracked spot on the hunk: a small hole grew out of its place, leaving down more pebbles.
"... ehm..." Vira lifted her hitting foot from the floor. "On second thought... th-those kicks are damaging my foot...!" She yelped in between words.
"Great...!" The woman nearby rose her irises, as she sighed. "Right when you created a hole in the wall...!"
Scarlet was carefully observing the powerful companion... as she distanced herself with some timid back steps.
"Then, let me try!" Hun turned into a Squid, as he bended onto himself. "Step aside, please!"
The Stingray squeaked, as she rushed behind the sofa and curled herself down.
"L-luckily we are all sporting the green color...!" The Inkling man near the room's entrance grew a sweat drop on his head's right side.
Right after, the Agent went back inspecting the silent machine... as he extracted his own smartphone and-
FUM!
Hun went off! The first woman dived on the sofa, almost passing above him. Vira threw herself to her left side, rolling once she landed on the floor... while the leading woman simply took a lazy sidewalk, away from the exposed weak point.
The Squid jumped while spinning in midair, nailing down the exposed hole.
BOOM!
The gap grew in size, while Hun dived inside the room's darkness.
"Whoa!" Vira's eyes were wide, same for her opened mouth, as she stood herself up. "You truly surprised me there, cutie!"
"MIRII!" Hun's voice blasted from the gap.
"Oh, Hunley...!" Mirii's voice happily echoed out of the hole. "Your intervention was as impeccable as usual...!"
"Thank you! Now, let's get out of here!" Hun's voice grew closer.
The Squid bounced through the gap, landing on the floor and sliding some feet away from it. After a few seconds, another Squid sprung off the gap, chased by one more Squid who successfully copied the same action. Hun changed his form back to normality...
Mirii resumed her humanoid form, noticing the presence of both the Agents and her friends. The nurse returned in her former self, letting out a big sigh. Vira's irises shrunk.
"Wh-what happened to your clothes?!" The man bended forward, almost losing his grasp onto his original weapon.
"The Stingrays tortured her and reduced her in such state..." Mirii snorted, as her head rose. "... how did you Agents infiltrated inside the vessel? I distinctively remember that the main entrance was sealed..."
"We arrived on its deck and entered from there." The previously-leading woman approached the girl. "We tried to do that, earlier on, as part of our rescue plan... but the Stingrays sent flying reinforcements on us! Specifically, smaller flying boats who shot at us... we had to battle it through in order to reach the deck..."
"We also tried to get in contact with Agent Vira..." The other female Agent simply freed her arms on the sides. "... but the signal was disturbed by some sort of electromagnetic force field..."
"It must be the operate of Stingret's machine...!" Mirii casually looked at the shut contraption...
"That's what we thought about it, at first...!" The Agent man, who was still located near the entrance, aimed his eyes onto the girl. "But when we moved in, we managed to track Vira down! Well... for a short second: when we tried to call her, the signal went completely missing! That signal distortion must have originated from those little boats who fought us."
"My earpieces broke, unfortunately..." Vira's hands went each behind one of them... "We were battling a robot, when I punched it right in its face… it hurt my hand too!" Her mouth downturned.
"Your hand is fine, right now?" Scarlet's eyes sniped on Vira's hand palms.
"Yes, don't worry." Vira smiled at her. "I'm just a bit tired… can't wait to dive in my bed and get myself a deserved nap!" She laughed.
Hun laughed at that too.
"Anyway!" The man near the sofa looked at the girl. "We had no choice but to explore the vessel and hope to find you somewhere." He nodded at the girl. "Thankfully, we did... and now, we are going to bring you out of this dump!"
"Finally some good news!" Vira clapped, smiling a little bit more.
"True!" Hun nodded, smiling as well.
"... can I come...?" Scarlet lowered her face, bringing her hands behind her back...
"Of course you can!" Mirii smiled at her new friend. "As I said before, me and my friends will bring you away from this nightmare... and that is exactly what we are going to do."
"Oh... oooohh...!" The Stingray also clapped, while smiling. "Thank you again, my friend! Always be in debt with you...!"
"Same for me!" The nurse nodded, as she was tempted to clap. "How did you managed to find the key for the rings, it's beyond me...!"
"That would be the brilliant results of perfection..." Mirii's eyes closed.
"Well! Now that evertything has been solved..." The leading man cleared his voice. "... shall we move out of here?"
"Absolutely." Mirii's eyes reopened, focusing onto the speaker.
"Same!" Hun blushed slightly...
"About time, I say!" Vira lowered her eyebrows and maintained her smile.
"Urgh... I really wanted to explore the vessel more..." The girl grimaced faintly, as she began moving towards the exit. "... still, I'm satisfied with the fact that I saved the innocents."
Gradually, a smile blossomed on her face. While she was walking, Hun neared himself on her right side: the girl directed her smile at the boy, growing a blush on her cheeks as well.
"Besides... there might be a potential clue to utilize in our fight against Project Neo..."
She glanced back at the large machine.
"... once I return home, I will immediately start my searches in the Hidden Sea and verify if such monstrosity is related to the project..."
