"Look carefully in my eyes."

Mirii was wearing her pajamas, as she was pressing her hands onto the drawer and looking at her mirror with her frowny eyes.

"You… you who claim to be a purist, a Squid that doesn't even comprehend the low intellect of mere charlatans…"

She took a deep breath with her nose…

"… what was that stupidity?" Her fingernails stood vertically, almost wishing to penetrate through the drawer's surface. "How could you let the circumstances conquer your high senses…?"

She snorted.

"It was, hands down, the worst interlocution I ever had in my whole life!" Her frown kept conquering her face, while her teeth were shyly exposing themselves. "Not just because Greta's way of speaking falls into the category of pure idiocy… bu-but I followed her suit! I talked like a moron!"

She bended forward, lowering her eyelids past the middle.

"Why I let the presence of evidence manipulate my reputation?! WHY?!" Her eyes squeezed fully. "Now that imbecile will always strive to make me talk just like her! She even claimed to be my fan, because of a skill I do not even have naturally!"

She reopened her eyes, tilting backwards and raising her hands off the drawer.

"… she might be lying about that…" Her head rose. "That whole praise might be nothing more than a mere attempt at turning my wonderful persona into a deranged version of myself… more specifically, she wants me to be just like her and Bars!"

Her face grimaced.

"She insisted into making me wear those fresh clothes… f-fresh?! THEY ARE ROTTEN!" Sweat formed on her forehead. "They are completely out of my refined tastes! How did that word slip into my mind?!"

Her mouth waved, as she turned in the direction of her bed.

"… enough…" Her eyebrows went up. "I should had ignored this terrible experience altogether…!"

She shyly walked towards her bed, mentally seeing herself sitting on it.

"The more I think about that whole way of talk… the more I"

Knock! Knock!

Mirii twisted behind, facing the closed door. She rapidly stepped in its direction, grasping the handle and unlocking the door: Hun was standing in front of her, smiling and wearing a plain white shirt, short-sleeved pants and a pair of slippers.

"Hunley!" Her mouth stood open.

"Hello!" His eyes closed. "I… I tried to sleep…" As his eyelids went up, his irises were already on their respective eye's right corner. "And… well…"

Mirii smiled a bit.

"Is there something you want to… tell me?" She blushed a bit.

"I-I just wanted to know if you are fine!" His irises properly aimed back at his friend. "I-if you feel sleepy, then"

"I'm fine, Hunley." Her blush conquered her cheeks, as her smile grew an inch. "You?"

"I'm too!" He nodded, copying the smile. "That lunch we had, completely restored my energy and mood!"

"Glad to hear such wonderful news." She giggled, as her eyes shut. "Would you like to enter inside my room and sit?"

"Well… if you want… sure!" He blushed a bit, nodding once more.

"Good!" The girl walked over her right side, showing the bed. "You can sit on my bed, if you have such wish… I haven't pulled the sheets yet."

"Alright!" He walked inside the room. "I was afraid you were already sleeping…"

Mirii pushed the door back, as she twisted over her friend.

"I thought to navigate through the Inknet, before I would sleep…" She leaded herself towards Hun.

"Navigate through the Inknet?" He sat onto the bed, as his bottom slightly sunk on the matrass. "Did you meant to say 'navigate through the sea'?"

The girl stopped, simply staring back at the boy…

"And in such case, why doing that in the middle of the night?" His head inclined to his right side.

"Pffff, ha ha ha ha!" Her hands held her stomach, while tilting forward. "Oh, Hunley…! Ha ha!"

Hun chuckled a bit.

"I-I said something stupid again, didn't I?" He slightly grinned.

"Th-that's not stupid…" Her smiling mouth sealed, as her posture lifted and her hands went down on the middle. "… 'clever response' would be the appropriate word for it."

"Uhm… I don't know…" His irises went diagonally up-right, as his mouth rose.

"I used a common terminology in regards of the Inknet: by 'navigate through the Inknet', I meant to simply look at digital pages who contain various information." She resumed her walk, freeing her eyes as well.

"Ah…" He faintly nodded, pointing his irises at her head.

The girl sits down, correctly inclining her head in its direction.

"… actually, now that you are in here..." She picked both her tentacles and brought them on her knees.

"Yes?" His ears tried to open more, as his mind was completely focused on both Mirii and any sounds surrounding them.

"… I was wondering the reason why you decided to ambush the Stingrays' vessel this morning." Her right hand petted her right tentacle, while directing her smile at the boy.

"I haven't told you that?" His brain was searching through his most recent memories…

"I don't recall such event." Her mouth flattened. "But if you don't remember the reason, by all means… ignore my request." She bowed her head once. "I don't need to know it."

"I do remember the reason!" He smiled for a brief second. "Not exactly what I did… but I distinctively remember a voice telling me that you were headed towards the vessel."

"A voice…" Her eyebrows lowered a little.

"I couldn't recognize it." He sighed. "This voice started talking to me, ever since we were headed to the hospital… but I think the voice stopped once we arrived at the vessel."

His shoulders lowered, as his mouth downturned.

"I don't remember much else, unfortunately…"

"A voice… who happens to know the location of the vessel?" Her eyes squeezed slightly. "… this cannot be the work of Stingret's maniacal machine…"

"Are you thinking about something…?" He scratched the bottom part of his chin.

"I'm honestly perplexed about the reason you provided…" Her head rose. "Not that I do not believe in it… on the contrary, I'm sure you are saying the truth, Hunley."

He smiled, blushing a bit.

"With everything considered, I would like to claim that…" She held her breath for a moment. "… a Demon Squid might have talked to you."

"I knew you would say that."

"Hmm?" Mirii looked carefully at him.

Hun's mouth stretched to his right side.

"... I thought about that solution too." He nodded. "In fact, once we returned home from the studios… I visited the Shrine and mentioned them about the mysterious voice."

"Now that you mention the Shrine…" Mirii frowned. "They could had sent reinforcements in your aid."

"As far as I remember, sending reinforcements means that pure energy must be used… I might remembering it wrong, though." He looked over his right side. "Besides, I highly prefer to take care of the situations on my own and let them focus on the Shrine's own defenses… I think I said that to them as well." He nodded. "However, if they notice that I absolutely need their help… they are allowed to do so."

"I would say that they should had done something about this morning's situation…" Her eyes locked.

"They told me that they received an attack, later in the morning…" He scowled for a few seconds. "Luckily, they managed to stop it… although, they said that some things went destroyed."

"D-do you happen to remember s-such destroyed objects…?" Mirii swallowed silently.

"Not at all." Hun shook his head.

"G-gaaah!" Sweat drops formed around Mirii's head. "T-to think I-I even told Greta to send the evidence to Chie…!"

"In any case, they haven't perceived the presence of Demon Squids around the hospital's area… but they said that certain Demon Squids can hide themselves pretty well from us." His head lowered. "Even then… what if it was a friendly voice instead?"

His eyebrows went up, repositioning his head back to neutral position.

"A friendly voice wouldn't lie to you like that…" Mirii petted her left tentacle. "Hunley, we will never know the truth with those evidences… thus, we shall focus on other matters."

"Like the acting activities I have to attend…?" He looked up, raising his mouth.

"Because of today's medical attention, I had to postpone several appointments and tasks…" She whispered a grunt. "Tomorrow, it's going to be a long day for both of us…"

"… alright." Hun nodded widely.

"I believe you should retreat in your own room, Hunley." Her mouth downturned. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience…" Her shoulders rose. "If it wasn't for the various postpones, you could had stood in here for a bit longer."

"That's fine, Mirii." Hun smiled, as he left the bed and leaned onto his own feet. "Work is work, no matter how hard it is…"

Mirii giggled, while pushing her bottom down a bit more than usual.

"It's always a pleasure, hearing your inspiring enthusiasm… have a goodnight, Hunley." Her eyes closed for a moment, as she smiled widely.

"Goodnight to you too, Mirii." He waved his right hand, as he headed off the sealed door.

"… hopefully…" The girl observed the boy arriving in front of her room's door. "… this voice in his head will not interfere in his job in any shape or form…"
