And before you say anything, this is MY story, anime or game universe, I can use what characters I want as some people find it amusing to be rude. It is FanFiction. It is for the enjoyment of reading, not to harass anyone.
If you have any questions about this story, or any possible requests of arcs or magic, then feel free to leave it in a review. Remember, NO HATE! Now, have your cupcakes, and enjoy!
It was now late in the evening and it had begun to grow dark. Ash had proceeded to lay out his sleeping bag and had made extra room for Loki. He always like to be beside Ash, awake or not as he didn't want to admit that fact that he didn't want to be alone. To be honest, Ash had that fear too. Pikachu and Caterpie had perched themselves on a tree stump beside them, as they both wanted to sleep out in the cool air. Ash was scanning through Caterpie's data on the Pokedex.
"Caterpie, the worm Pokemon. Its feet have suction cups designed to stick to any surface. It tenaciously climbs trees to forage. It's known moves are: String Shot and Tackle."
"Looks like we need some special training," Loki commented.
"I know I am weak…" Caterpie said sadly.
"Nonsense, you have a lot of potential!" Ash answered back and Pikachu smiled at his new trainer's positive and kind attitude. He really knew how to take care of Pokemon.
"Well said," Pikachu added in as he yawned.
"Well, time to get a good night sleep. We have a long walk ahead tomorrow," Ash said as he made himself comfortable. He decided to sleep on his side, so Loki would sleep by his chest.
"Wonder where Misty is," Loki said as he scratched his ear.
"Right over there behind the tree," Ash said as he placed his head down, on the surprisingly comfortable ground. Guess the grass does help a little.
"You're not going to do anything?" Pikachu asked as he curled up.
"No point, she'll keep following us anyway," Ash mumbled as sleep finally took over and surprisingly started to frown in his sleep.
"What's wrong with him?" Caterpie asked.
"Oh he sometimes suffers from nightmares because of his magic. He says that people talk to him in his sleep or sometimes he dreams of his dragon, so it makes him sad," Loki explained tiredly.
"Talking to people in his dreams? That's odd," Pikachu stated.
"I know but maybe something will change and he'll sleep better," Loki said as he then fell asleep too.
Pikachu and Caterpie looked at their new trainer with curious eyes. He was a strange human with strange magic but he was so kind and considerate to their feelings. Maybe they would see his dragon one day and maybe more of his magic. Happy thoughts stayed in their minds as they both fell asleep.
"Man, you're such a loser!" a voice snarled.
"Don't be like that, it's not my fault that you're stuck here!" Ash told him. He then let out a yelp as he got a smack on his head.
"You're the Dragon Slayer, you're supposed to figure it out!" the voice snapped at him.
"Why is it always me that has to figure stuff out?" Ash complained.
"You know why moron. I'm dead," the voice answered bluntly.
Ash was awoken the next morning by a loud scream ringing in his ears. Loki yelled too as the scream woke up him up too. Pikachu actually fell off the tree stump in shock. Ash leapt up out of his sleeping bag along with Loki, only to roll his eyes and press his temple when he saw that Misty was screaming at Caterpie. Seems that he'd gone over near her to sleep next to her during the night.
"Do you have to be so loud? My senses can't take much more of your screaming," Ash mumbled as he tried to wake up properly.
"My cat ears hurt too!" Loki protested.
"Mine too," Pikachu grumbled.
"Get the bug away!" Misty said as she scrambled to her feet.
"He just wants to be your friend Misty, give him a chance!" Ash told her.
"If it wants to be my friend then it can go away and back in its pokeball!" Misty yelled and Caterpie was extremely hurt by this.
"Why he likes you, I don't know," Ash muttered and was shocked and angered when the Pokemon crawled back into its pokeball. Ash knelt down to the pokeball that was on the tree stump and looked at it.
"Aw, don't be sad, we will be your friend," Loki said and even Pikachu came over to pet the pokeball. Ash had finally lost his temper as he turned to glare at Misty.
"Alright, I've had it with you Misty! Not only are you rude but you offended my friend's feelings! I want you gone, now!" Ash demanded.
"Or what?" Misty said although truth be told, she was quite nervous as she saw the anger in his eyes. She was even more nervous when he raised a fist and it started to glow purple with power.
"Or I'll make you," Ash growled.
"Ash look!" Loki yelled as he tried to take away the tension and anger of his friend.
Ash lowered his fist and looked over to see that Loki was pointing at something moving in the grass. It was bird with brown and cream feathers with a bunch of slicked back red feathers on his head. Its talons were quite sharp and its tail feathers were yellow and read.
"Huh, a Pidgeotto," Ash said as he pulled out his Pokedex to scan it.
"Pidgeotto, the bird Pokemon and the evolved form of Pidgey. It renders its prey immobile using well-developed claws, then carries the prey more than 60 miles to its nest. It's known moves are: Gust, Quick Attack, Steel Wing and Wing Attack."
"Catch it, catch it!" Loki cheered.
"You got it. Pikachu, you're up!" Ash said as Pikachu came forward. Ash was clever enough to realise that he couldn't put Caterpie against a bird. It was a major disadvantage. Pikachu on the other hand, had the advantage.
"Let's go!" Pikachu said with enthusiasm.
"Alright, let's start this off with Double Team!" Ash said and Pikachu immediately doubled itself so many copies of him were surrounding the bird.
"Pidgeo!" the Pokemon cried as it rose into the air as he then flapped his wings rapidly, creating a large Gust attack to get rid of the doubles. Pikachu clenched his eyes as he did his best to stay on the ground but it was incredibly hard to do so.
"Keep calm Pikachu! Use your tail to stay firm!" Ash called. Pikachu heard the call and dug his tail into the ground which helped him immensely. Misty was surprised by this move but nevertheless, it was impressive.
"Pi!" Pidgeotto screeched as he then used a Quick Attack to charge at Pikachu. Ash grinned as he had Pidgeotto right where he wanted.
"Now, Thunderbolt!" Ash shouted. Pikachu then charged his cheeks and let out a bolt of lightning that struck Pidgeotto, which made him let out a loud shriek. He fell to the ground with sparks dancing along his feathers, which gave Ash the perfect opportunity as he pulled out another pokeball.
"Go pokeball!" Ash shouted as he threw the pokeball. It landed on the fallen Pokemon and it shook twice before making the 'DING' noise, to show it's capture. Ash grinned hugely as Loki flew over to fetch the pokeball and then handed it to Ash.
"Another friend! We might need a list!" Loki exclaimed.
"I'll say," Ash agreed.
"That…was a good capture," Misty called over but Ash still wasn't pleased with her.
"I apologise for almost attacking you but you really upset me. I don't mind you coming with us but I want you to apologise to Caterpie," Ash said as he placed the pokeballs back in his satchel. Misty was about to apologise but Ash's ears picked up something and raised a hand for everyone to be quiet.
"So, we meet again," a male voice said.
"That voice…" Misty muttered.
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all people within our nation!" James said
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth! That's right!"
"For the love of…" Ash grumbled as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
"We are in the middle of something here!" Loki protested.
"Quiet! There's only one talking cat around here and that's me!" Meowth said.
"We aren't here to listen to you, we are here for the Pikachu!" Jessie said as she pointed over to Pikachu, who looked quite surprised.
"No offence to you Ash but why would he want your Pikachu when you have a flying talking cat instead," Misty pointed out and Ash considered that.
"We already have a talking cat! Besides, he can only fly and it as useless as a Margikarp," Meowth replied.
True to his word, they had reported back to their boss about the cat but he wasn't interested. They were so caught up in talking about Pikachu and the cat, they didn't even remember that he was a dragon slayer, nor did they mention it to the boss.
"That's mean!" Loki said as he cried, while Pikachu patted him on the back.
"Alright, why is Pikachu so important to you? There are so many Pikachu's out there that you can get for yourself," Ash pointed out.
"Your Pikachu's power is special! Our Pokemon got quite the charge you know!" James exclaimed.
"I feel complimented," Pikachu commented.
"Now hand it over!" Jessie said as she held up her own pokeball ready.
"Forget it," Ash answered as he folded his arms.
"Alright, then we have no choice!" the duo yelled as they released their Pokemon. Ekans and Koffing glared at Pikachu as they recognised him from the centre. They hadn't particularly enjoyed the shock they had received from him.
"Um…Ash? Can't you just get rid of them all with your magic?" Misty whispered.
"I would but I don't injure the Pokemon, good or not. You have no idea how much I want to though," Ash answered and Misty nodded in understanding.
"Ekans, Poison Sting!" Jessie shouted as the snake fired its poisonous darts towards Pikachu.
"Koffing, use Tackle!" James added.
Ash pulled out Pigdeotto's pokeball along with Caterpie's and called Pikachu back. He didn't want to give them the satisfaction of using Pikachu in his battle.
"Pidgeotto, use Gust to fire Caterpie into Tackle!" Ash called.
Pidgeotto flew up and flapped his wings to create a current of wind, which caused Caterpie to be lifted off the ground and to be fired towards the two opposing Pokemon. Caterpie then spun through the air which caused the Tackle attack to add more power. The combined move enabled Caterpie to dodge Koffing's attack and to drive through the Poison Sting to hit Ekans.
"Kanns!" the Pokemon cried out.
"Alright, Pidgeotto, finish up with Quick Attack!" Ash said as the large bird's speed the picked up as he came towards Koffing.
"Koffing, use Smoke Screen!" James ordered. Koffing then widened its mouth and spread the black smoke towards Pidgeotto, who flew right into it. However, this was exactly what Ash wanted.
"Up!" he said simply, which confused everyone, minus Pidgeotto. As the bird flew up, it took most of the smoke with him, leaving Koffing completely open, to Caterpie, who was now positioned right in front of Koffing.
"Cater!" Caterpie said.
"String Shot!" Ash called. A sticky thread then came out of Caterpie's mouth which binded up Koffing in a sticky web, who then landed on the floor along with an unconscious Ekans. Ash grinned and Team Rocket's shocked faces.
"Yeah!" Loki yelled.
"Want to have a turn?" Ash invited to Misty, who smiled and nodded as she readied herself. She held up one arm which then changed into a water in the shape of a whip. Ash's cheeks expanded as his eyes went purple once again. Team Rocket were visibly shaking at this point.
"Water Nebula!" Misty yelled as she slashed the whip.
"Ghost Dragon: Roar!" Ash shouted as the attacks combined together and created a fused explosion. Team Rocket yelled out in shock as they were blasted off the ground with dirt marks all over them.
"I completely forgot about that twerp's magic!" Jessie yelled as she fussed with her messy hair.
"Low blow…" Meowth mumbled.
"The boss will hear about this!" James declared.
"We're blasting off again!" Team Rocket yelled as they soared through the air until they were out of sight and out of mind. Ash and Misty watched them go as the Pokemon and Loki all cheered at their victory.
"Well, that went well," Ash said as he dusted his hands.
"Yeah I guess so…" Misty said as she shuffled her feet. She was about to say something to him until her attention turned to Caterpie.
"Caterpie?" Ash asked but then his eyes widened in realisation at what was happening.
Caterpie's body started glowing blue and began to change. Everyone had to squint for a moment but as soon as the light died away, Caterpie was now replaced with a green worm like creature with two eyes that looked quite tired. Ash grinned hugely as he pulled out his Pokedex.
"Metapod, the cocoon Pokemon and the evolved form of Caterpie. A steel-hard shell protects its tender body. It quietly endures hardships while awaiting evolution."
"Awesome, I've never seen an evolution before! Do it again!" Loki said.
"Don't be silly, it takes a little more training for that," Misty told him as Ash turned to Pidgeotto, who was new to this situation.
"Hey Pidgeotto, I'm Ash. Nice to meet you!" Ash greeted.
"Hello but I don't know how you can understand me," Pidgeotto chirped which only Ash understood while the others were stumped at the conversation.
"Trust me, I can understand you, thank the dragon slayer senses for that," Ash told him and from the flapping of his wings and squawks of surprise coming from the bird, everyone else immediately got what he was saying.
"I have been taken in by a Dragon Slayer?! I am going to become the strongest ever!" Pidgeotto declared happily and Ash laughed as he rubbed his head.
"Alright then, welcome to the team! You know Pikachu and Metapod! This is Misty and the flying cat is Loki," Ash said and they all waved.
"Another flyer? This will be fun," Pidgeotto said with a gleam in his eye.
"Ash, why is he looking at me like that?" Loki asked worriedly.
"Better lay off the rice balls," Ash said with a snicker and Loki glared at the bird when he said that.
"Ash, I want to say something," Misty said as she came forward.
"Alright, go ahead," Ash said as he returned Pidgeotto. He guessed that she was about to say something to Metapod as she crouched down to his level. He saw that she was shaking but then again, since she was cared of bugs, it was only natural.
"Metapod, I am sorry for hurting your feelings…I just get very nervous around bug types but I guess I could try and be nicer around bugs," Misty said. Metapod didn't move but Ash knew he was pleased with her response.
"Pet his head if you're sorry," Ash said and Misty gave him a worried look but he responded with a slight glare. Loki and Pikachu snickered at this. No one could match Ash's death glare by far.
"Okay…" Misty said as she slowly placed a shaky on the bug's head. She bit her tongue but then realised that it wasn't so bad after all.
"Aw, he likes you!" Loki said with a smile.
"See? I think we can all get along," Ash said as he returned Metapod. Misty got up and dusted herself off and looked at Ash with a smile.
"I guess so. So, I take it that you want to enter the League?" Misty asked.
"Yes, it's my dream to become a Pokemon Master and to find Yakuri. What about you?" Ash asked and he noticed that Misty looked a little nervous at this. However, she did answer him.
"I love Water Pokemon and I want to be the best trainer of them," Misty answered.
"Well then, that explains your magic. Travelling together could be fun, we could train and become stronger together?" Ash asked.
"Yay! Companionship!" Loki said as he flew around.
"This could be more fun," Pikachu agreed.
"Yeah…I guess it could be fun," Misty said with a grin.
She did want to get stronger and she knew that Ash was a strong and good trainer. In addition to that, his magic was one of a kind too and she did want to learn more about it. Ash smiled too. She would be interesting to travel with and who knows, maybe they would find Yakuri on their way. He was slightly anxious on how people would react, especially his mother but maybe he'd cross that bridge when he came to it. For now, he would just enjoy his journey with his new friends.
Far away from the group of friends was a large hidden base that had grunts patrolling all around with their Pokemon. There were various scientists in labs inside the building that were experimenting with Pokemon and what could be used to amplify their abilities. The man in charge of this base was Giovanni Rocketto and he was currently massaging his temple as he dealt with three idiotic members of his organisation. Jessie, James and Meowth stood in front of his large desk fearfully. It made it worse that the desk was raised up off the ground which only made him look scarier to them. He was wearing an orange suit and had his brown hair slicked back that showed his harsh brown eyes.
"You three are incompetent. All you had to do was to steal some Pokemon for the experiments but you can't even do that!" Giovanni shouted.
"It's not our fault boss, I swear!" Meowth pleaded.
"I won't tolerate any more excuses! Our operation is nearing completion and we can't afford to waste time. Keeping the operation low profile is hard enough without you making trouble," Giovanni said with a frown.
"But boss, this twerp had a powerful Pikachu and I think it could…" Jessie said but Giovanni slammed his fist down.
"A Pikachu? A Pokemon that isn't fully evolved has no real potential," Giovanni said and this time, James caught his attention.
"His magic was powerful! He was a Dragon Slayer!" he said, and Giovanni's eyebrows raised. A Dragon Slayer? This was certainly unusual but he already knew of a Dragon Slayer and wasn't easily swayed. Giovanni knew that the Dragon Slayer was indeed against his plans but thankfully, he wasn't completely aware of his true identity yet and he didn't need another Dragon Slayer to add to the scene.
"Alright, I suppose that's useful. What is his name?" Giovanni asked as he stroked the Persian that was sitting by his chair. The small group had to think for a moment before they spoke up.
"I think his name was…Ash Ketchum?" James said and at that name, Giovanni's eyes widened and his breath caught in his throat. An image of a man came into his mind and the fact that he now knew that he had a son was simply…interesting and shocking. How he didn't know about this was beyond him.
"Listen to me closely. Pursue that boy and do your best to capture the Pikachu. If you do, bring him here and that will lure the boy here," Giovanni said sternly as he quickly typed something onto his computer next to him.
"Yes Sir!" the three said. They were surprised at his reaction but if it pleased him, they weren't going to argue. Giovanni then threw something at them and after Jessie caught it, they saw that it was a small recording device.
"Document his movements around the cities. I want to know everything about his magic. You are dismissed," Giovanni said sharply as the three again saluted him.
"Yes Sir! For Team Rocket!" the group said before running off to do their mission.
Giovanni the looked at the computer screen which displayed the image of a man with dark brown hair and brown eyes, although half of his face was covered with something. Ah yes. He was the one responsible for a downfall in his plans at one point in his life. One that had been tied to the Ketchum family for years. He had no idea where the man was now nor of his magic. It pained him to admit it, but that man...dare even say monster...didn't need magic to bring his operations to a halt. However…this new child that the group had mentioned may have even greater promise. But for now, he would keep an eye on him. He didn't want anything to thwart his plans. Even so…he had to be safe. He picked up a nearby phone on his desk and dialled a number.
"Yes, this is Giovanni," Giovanni said.
"Ah Giovanni. What is the nature of your call? It's not often that you call. You haven't spoken to us in ten years," a calm, yet cold voice stated.
"I am aware of that. I haven't required your services since the man I wanted dead seemed to have made himself scarce. However, there appears to be a new problem. He hasn't done anything of yet but I want you to do some research before you send someone out. I also want to know who you'd be sending out," Giovanni replied.
"You have my interest. Who could be more of a nuisance then?" the voice asked.
"Take down the name of Ash Ketchum," Giovanni answered.
"Oh my, now this is certainly a twist. Did you even know?" the voice said and Giovanni knew that he was surprised too.
"No, I was unaware of it. It seems that even he had some secrets of his own," Giovanni admitted.
"Do you want him dead when we find him? Or just…injured?" the voice asked cruelly.
"Just injure. He may prove to have uses," Giovanni answered.
"Very well. You already have one of us helping your plans so be aware that having another one of us to spy on this boy is a dangerous game," the voice warned.
"I don't care. If this boy proves to be as annoying as his father then both of our ambitions will be crushed," Giovanni said, a bit more harshly.
"I see your point. The next one I send to you will be more…vicious…how does that sound?" the voice asked.
"I like your thinking. Get it done. You can wait a few months before sending the spy in," Giovanni said as he put the phone down. He smiled sinisterly as he petted his Persian. His plans were going smoothly and as annoying as the helper was, she was very good at her job. He could only wonder what one they would send next but he was sure that the person would be even better than the last.
Ooooh does anyone know who that may be? Feel free to review yours theories. Hope you enjoyed and see you soon!
