So after a little bit -a lot- of procrastination, here's what I could remember of the chapter I lost. Expect next chapter to have actual plot stuff… Turns out I forgot a lot more of RWBY than I thought I did, and will be rewatching a lot of it to make sure this story is as accurate as it can be.
Chapter 6: Fade to Blanche
Be Bec Noir
You're now standing outside formerly your room, now your shared room. Your roommate of course being PM. The logic behind it was sound, in a very un-Noir kinda way. It was very obviously the witch's doing. Who else'd put the one person capable of hurting you in your room! Your hand carefully drifts to the pants pocket of your finely tailored suit, slipping inside and removing the case that you and PM's rings are inside of. You're not currently wearing yours because you planned to take off the suit and take a nap, and putting on or taking off anything with only one arm was a pain in the arse. Of course that changed when you found PM in your bed, and you just haven't put it back on.
As mentioned, her ring was there too. You can barely touch it without feeling nauseous. The two rings themselves don't seem to clash at all, after all, they're just rings. Immensely powerful rings, still, but rings nonetheless.
You're getting off topic again.
Ok, so, PM; Roommates with you… -possibly- definitely a Goodwitch plot.
You know what? You are going to go in there right now and do something about this. The witch thinks she can get back at you this way, well too bad for her! You are going to have an even better time than ever cuz you got a beautiful wo-
Just go in there you idiot.
You pocket the case and turn around, and open the door.
"PM! I'm here to have a word wi-URAGHH!"
Be PM
"What a nice conversation, Jack." You say, finishing tying the last knot.
You stand up straight, looking down at his restrained and shaking form, then give him a kick in the ribs for good measure. You then turn your attention to the case which fell from his pocket in the exchange. It had both of your rings in it. Taking them both out and examining them, you decide that they are indeed both of the rings.
"Good" you thought. "Now all that's left is to find a significantly large source of lava to throw them into."
"MMMFF!"
"Oh shut up, Noir." You say, picking up and pointing your Regisword at him, which gets him to quiet.
You could almost admire his obedience if it weren't for the puppydog eyes he was giving you. Weirdo.
Then, there's a knock on the door. You walk over and open it just wide enough so whoever's there can't see Jack lying on the floor.
"Oh, it's that red girl. She looks surprised."
"Um, hello."
"Hello. Do you need something?" You ask kindly.
"Well, I came to ask Noir if you were ok, but it looks like you are."
"Ah, well Noir is a bit tied up at the moment. I may be of assistance though if there's anything else?"
"Yeah there is." She looked a little less happy. "Two of my teammates had an argument and one of them ran away, and we can't find her-"
She was cut off by a ringing sound coming from the nightstand. You give her a One moment Please gesture and look at it. Jack's TABLET THINGAMAJIG is the source of the sound. You pick it up and look at the words that just appeared on it:
Bec, could you come up to my office I
Have some important mail for you to
deliver.
You stare wide-eyed at the message from this Ozpin fellow. You slowly set it back down. You put on your Ring and stand at attention
"Um, miss?"
With a flare of your First Guardian Powers, a familiar hat appears on your head.
"A Postwoman's job is never over! I, Parcel Mistress, am here to continue this back-and-forth cycle which is the true lifeblood of civilization! Onwards… TO MAIL!"
And with that you dramatically warp out of the room, leaving a very confused girl standing in the doorway.
"Well, that just happened… Oh my Oum! Jack what happened to you?!"
Ozpin's office
It seems to be that nearly everyone either hates Noir, or likes him. No in-between and nothing further. Ozpin like to think he was indifferent to Noir's personality; as headmaster he couldn't choose sides. In any matter, Noir was a valuable worker, if in a Noir-ish way.
Finishing up writing the letter regarding upcoming events, Ozpin tapped out a quick message to Noir's Scroll and sent it.
Then, not Noir, but Blanche appeared spontaneously in his office, standing at attention.
"Ready and willing to receive my postal duties, sir!" She announced, giving her mailman hat a slight adjustment.
"Hm. I suppose you will do." He took a long sip of his coffee. "I need this letter delivered to General Ironwood in Atlas. I presume you can deliver it?"
She grabbed the letter off the table and gave a salute.
"Of course SIR! No parcel escapes the grasp of fate, no package left undelivered, no-"
Aaaand she warped away mid sentence. Ozpin took another sip. Everyone was a little quirky, he supposed.
Author's Note: This chapter was supposed to be longer, but I kinda took a hiatus in the middle of writing it. Maybe I'll turn this into an Omake, but for now I really need to get back to writing more regularly.
