Hello! I'm actually pretty proud of myself - I managed to finish this chapter in 2 weeks, have a good chunk of the next one done and this is one of the longest chapters I have ever written for one of my fics. I'm hoping that any plotholes created will be tied up by the end of the fic. Looks like we're heading for 13-15 chapters.
Thanks to the reviewers who have dropped a line, put me in their favs or follows list and anyone taking the time to read a story that looks like it was abandoned (we're about to enter year 11). I sincerely hope you all are enjoying the ride. Still hoping 2020 is my year!
"Danny!" Maddie wasn't sure who yelled his name, but the very depths of her soul felt the urgency in their exclamation.
"I'm coming for you son!" Jack yelled, attempting to push past the ghost in front of him in a hurry.
"Mr. Fenton, wait!" Tucker yelled urgently, running in front of the man. "We can't just walk in there without a plan; it wouldn't do Danny any good." Tucker put his arms up to stop the man in his tracks. Jack turned his fearful and angry gaze toward the boy in front of him.
"Out of the way, Tucker," he said forcefully, trying to move past him. "I'm not letting that sick freak have another second with Danny!"
Tucker held his position, looking both serious and sympathetic to the father. "Neither am I! But we have no weapons and no idea what conditions we're going to face in there! We need to follow Danny's orders."
The screaming stopped all of a sudden, the silence now even more deafening than the screams before it. The Dairy King frowned, looking at the group with some anticipation. "It's been goin' on for a few hours now – comes and goes," he said sadly. "I met the kiddo before, few months back. Doesn't deserve this if you ask me, but cripes, what can I do to help? Throw a cheese wheel at him? Yous guys are his best shot."
"Hours," Maddie whispered in horror. She looked at the company around her and settled her gaze on Sam. Sam had listened intently to the Dairy King before turning her head to shield Phantom still held above the now empty cell. Her eyes widened as whatever she was thinking clicked in place. Maddie frowned deeply as Sam did something in the moment that she didn't expect.
Sam swore. Loudly. "That idiot!" she exclaimed half exasperatedly, half angry. "That lousy, self-sacrificing idiot!"
Danielle's eyes widened as she caught on. "Oh man, that was his signal!?" she said, face-palming. "How the hell did we not hear it?"
"I have a guess," Sam replied darkly, eyeing the shield. She turned to the kingly ghost still floating around the small group. "Thanks Dairy King. We'll get him out." He smiled, before promptly flying upwards into the ceiling. Sam then turned to Tucker, who watched her with an eyebrow raised. "Tucker's right – we're going to need as many weapons as we can carry to get out of this one."
"No," Maddie said suddenly. Sam whirled around her, confusion plastered all over her face. "We can't leave Danny in there for another minute! I don't care about whatever plans you all have cooked up in the past. This is no time to be playing hero."
Sam scowled, about to retort when Danielle spoke up. Her voice was quiet.
"Don't you trust him?" Maddie and Jack both faltered at the word 'trust'. Danielle wasn't looking at them; in fact she was looking at the ground, her red beanie pushing her bangs lower across her face. When she did look up, her eyes burned with emotion, glowing green. "Do you? Cause that's all he's asked of you today. Trust him - begged for it if you ask me. So, let me ask again: do you trust Danny?"
The accusation came in the last four words. Maddie looked the girl over and for the first time, saw the resemblance to her son; the way her forehead crinkled when he was angry, eyes (even glowing) had some swirling mystery behind them, voice gentle yet commanding. Maddie had seen this earlier in Danny when confronting Plasmius. That's when it hit her – she recognized these things in her son. Her son had the same characteristics. Her eyes widened slightly as the thought sank in. "Yes…of course we trust him." she said breathlessly.
Danielle snorted. "Well, you sure have a crappy way of showing it," she replied, eyes returning to her normal colour with a frown. Her gaze turned to both parents as guilt started to creep in. "Danny knows what he's doing – he's actually one of the best. The only thing he doesn't know, apart from him own limits, is if he has the trust of his parents. If you trust him, really trust him, we need to follow his plan. Meaning we gear up, save Danny and kick Plasmius' ass."
Sam beamed at the girl's speech before taking charge. "This way," she said, darting down the corridor, Tucker, Danielle and the Fentons on her tail.

Danny's back arched again as his legs kicked violently in the air. Ecto-energy poured into him, making his skin burn as he repressed the white rings of transformation again. He bit his lip harshly, keeping his screams locked in his throat. He had no idea how much time passed, but fought harder through the ripples of energy engulfing his frame.
"Time for a reprieve," Vlad smug voice came from somewhere in the lab.
The ecto-energy stopped. Danny's body, now absent from being electrocuted, dropped instantly towards the floor, his restraints pulling harshly at his wrists to keep him hanging. His head dropped to his chest, eyes closed as he gasped for air. Danny could feel the gaze of the older halfa in front of him and wanted to give no satisfaction to that fruitloop about how close he was to getting what he wanted. He was on fire; Vlad flooded his veins with so much ecto-energy, he felt like he would explode if he didn't go ghost. Vaguely, he realized Plasmius was talking to him, but elected to take inventory on something else – namely his ability to keep breathing.
"-like your core is resetting," Vlad continued. Danny swore he heard a bit of pride in his voice. "Now, if you could just follow through and transform, this entire process will be far more enjoyable."
Maybe for you, psycho. Danny didn't flinch as his ghost half's thoughts fluttered through his brain. It became less alarming to speak with himself as the day unfolded; after their conversation in the mindscape (a word Phantom still refused to call it), Danny felt comfortable with his presence.
Danny shuddered involuntarily, a small groan escaping his lips. The shield? He inquired.
Still up, Phantom told him. How much longer before we drop it?
We need to give them enough time, Danny replied. If we can hold out a little longer, we can start phase two of the plan.
If we can even manage stage two.
Hey, this was your plan. Not mine.
We're the same person!
Danny was jolted out of his thoughts as he heard the cell open, a rush of wind from the lab hitting his face. A hand grasped his face and roughly pulled it upward. Danny opened his eyes to glare into Vlad's frustrated face. "Are you even listening?" the older man asked. Danny continued to glare. With an angry growl, he pushed Danny's face away as he floated out of the cell. "Of course you aren't!" he ranted loudly. "Tell me Daniel, how the hell do you think you'll get out of this? I have you cornered. Your pitiful powers won't be able to save you now. The longer you resist me, the more destruction you do to your core."
Danny's breathing finally returned to normal, but continued to stay silent. Already he could feel his powers simmering inside him, wanting to react to the anger and frustration that was caused by Vlad. Sparks of his own ecto-energy ran through him as he stifled a groan. Plasmius scoffed, floating over to the control panel once more.
Focus Fenton his ghost half warned. The fruitloop's right. The more we repress our powers while he's flooding us with ecto-energy, there's more of a chance that our powers will try to overpower us.
Danny inwardly shuddered at that; the last thing he needed was his powers to be out of control around Vlad. And his parents. And relive the sensation of raw energy eating him from inside after a build-up of power. The warning Clockwork gave him months ago again flittered through his mind.
"What have you been hiding?" Vlad mused, typing something into the monitors with a determined expression. Danny's glare turned into a calculated, guarded expression, shuddering again as another spark of his own energy ran through him. "You've acquired much more than that scream power from when we last met."
"Wail." Danny's voice was rough and hoarse as he corrected the man.
"It appears you can duplicate readily now too- in both forms," Vlad continued, not missing a beat. He turned his gaze to the boy again. "It's only a matter of time before you give in, Daniel."
Danny glared, his eyes narrowed. They held each other's gaze – red vs. blue – for a few minutes before Vlad chuckled darkly and continued to look at the console. Danny sighed, suddenly feeling tired and agitated with his powers running rampant. Out of the corner of his eye he swore he saw a flash of orange. Confused, he lifted his head a little higher, blinking a couple times to make sure he could trust what he saw. Is that? He thought, squinting slightly.
Danny's eyes widened as he saw them; his parents' faces were saturated in worry and anger. They each had large blasters at the ready as they stalked towards the containment cell. Dani, Sam and Tucker followed closely behind them, each holding an ecto-blaster with apprehension as they looked between Danny and Vlad. Danny looked in their direction and shook his head vigorously. Not yet, he thought, pleading with his parents to stop. Hide! His parents stopped, Sam and Tucker bumping into them. As they caught sight of Danny's face, Sam quietly pulled on Maddie's jumpsuit and signalled to the older woman to take cover. Maddie shot Danny a guilty look, glared at Vlad before relenting and taking shelter.
Danny let out breath he was holding, before searching himself for his core and the source of the shield. Once he tapped into his core, raw energy sent sparks through his frame again as he felt the shield he held around the original prison dissipate. He bit back a scream, panting slightly, as he dropped further into his chains. Phantom? He called to his ghost half.
On it. Phantom replied, and Danny felt his ghost half leave him, taking all the extra ecto-energy Plasmius bombarded him with and left behind a sore, tired Danny Fenton at the mercy of their enemy.
Lifting his head tiredly, Danny glared at the older hybrid once more. Onto phase two.

The group had found Vlad's weaponry with ease, and Maddie was quite thankful for the arsenal they had rivalled theirs back in Amity. Leading the group through the twists of the corridor, she occasionally looked back at the kids in confusion and concern. Sam and Tucker were both grim, but both looked like they were in a familiar setting. She would occasionally see them send unspoken signals between each other or cast Jack and Maddie a look of concern, like parents trying to shield their children from something terrible. The irony was not lost on her.
Then there was Danielle – the girl looked nervous and slightly afraid of something, but was certainly determined on the task at hand. Both teens were adamant on her caring an ecto-gun too, even with her powers. Maddie kept thinking of her outburst and her conviction of Danny. Danielle was right; when Danny had asked her to trust him, she couldn't. Danny was her son and she had let her own confusion, hurt and anger of his lies blind her from seeing him fully. She vowed to not do that again.
"-matter of time before you give in, Daniel." Plasmius' voice cut through her thoughts like a knife, stopping the older woman in her tracks. She signalled for the group behind to halt, locking eyes with her husband before turning the corner. Maddie gasped at the sight; her son hung against the wall, restrained from his wrists, looking dishevelled. Her eyes moved directly to his face, with his narrowed eyed glare staring darkly at Plasmius. "Danny," she whispered, concerned. She felt Jack move past her to also take a look at their son. Maddie couldn't look away; she had never seen such emotion on her son's face.
"Danny," Jack repeated, worry oozing out of the man. He turned to Maddie with a determined, grim expression before speaking. Jack was not a patient man, especially when his family was at risk, and Maddie knew right away what his next words would be. "Let's go."
"Wait!" Danielle whispered urgently, but they were gone. Sam, Tucker and Danielle shared a look before following. They crept slowly towards the threat, careful not to arouse suspicion. Jack stopped suddenly, Maddie doing the same. She felt the kids bump into her as her eyes flew directly to her son. Danny was looking straight at them, throwing small glances to the ghost to make sure he didn't catch on. He shook his head, eyes pleading with them to do something. She felt someone pull at her sleeve, and saw Sam signalling to the machine close by. It would provide cover, but would leave her son at the mercy of the ghost again. Do you trust Danny? Maddie remembered, turning her gaze to her son again. His eyes were desperate, but not for himself – for them. Maddie locked eyes with him, wishing he could read her mind, before glaring once more at Plasmius and nodding to Sam.
They all but ran behind a large stack of machines, trying to listen to the conversation. Jack took one last look around the machine, before turning around to the group. "We need to get Danny," he whispered harshly, no longer showing any of his usual goofy self. He turned to Danielle. "You seem to know what Plasmius was planning to do to him. Will a surprise attack activate anything to hurt Danny?"
"Kinda," Phantom's disembodied voice whispered back, stopping Danielle's response to Jack. The group whirled around to see the ghost boy materialize in front of them, crouched low. He was solid, and ecto-energy seemed to radiate off him. Before any of them had a chance to react, Sam made a beeline for him and punched him hard in the arm. "Ow," he whispered angrily, rubbing the appendage. "What was that for?"
"That," Sam whispered darkly, "Was for giving us a signal that we couldn't hear, you idiot." Phantom looked at her, confused before she continued. "Did you realize that we couldn't hear the screaming with the shield up?"
Phantom stared at her for a second, before groaning. "Oh man," he started, "These core powers are really starting to be annoying."
"Core powers?" Tucker asked, confused.
Phantom glanced at Maddie and Jack quickly before replying. "Long story." Turning to the Fentons, Phantom's voice became more confident, masked with the seasoned ghost fighter to the glaring parents in front of him. "Danny's fine, a little over stimulated maybe, but fine."
"Overstimulated?" Sam asked skeptically.
"Fine?" Maddie whispered angrily. "Phantom, my son has been screaming, for hours and you say he's fine!?"
Phantom, to his credit, winced. "Didn't feel like hours," he replied to himself. Ecto-energy sparked around his hands, bringing him out of his thoughts and back to the group. "Ugh, okay we don't have time for this." Maddie opened her mouth to protest but Phantom cut her off. "We have a plan."
Jack's eyes narrowed. "Do you? Cause Danny's plan didn't involve you. In fact he mentioned you would be unavailable to help us."
Phantom frowned at the man's tone. "Look," he said with a sigh. "This is all really complicated and I promise that you'll get answers when we get out of here. But I am here, and once we get Danny out of this mess, we can start kicking ghost butt." Sparks flew through the ghost boy, catching him off guard. He cried out softly, putting a hand on the ground to steady himself.
"Danny!" Sam called, bending down towards him, concerned. "What is it?" she asked expectantly, eyeing his form with worry. Phantom shook his head and steadied himself before answering.
"My powers," he explained. "I… Danny… he's being blasted with ecto-energy in order to generate a mid-morph DNA sample." He paused, frowning in thought before continuing. "That ecto-energy is causing my powers to go on the fritz because Danny, thankfully, isn't giving in. However it means that my core is trying to withstand more energy than it's used to and until I can start using my powers to fight Plasmius, I'm basically fighting myself to make my powers not take over." He locked eyes with Tucker and Sam, both understanding what that meant. He turned to the curious faces of Jack, Maddie and Danielle. "My core powers use more energy and can circumvent the takeover, which means that since I'm now running on what feels like 5 energy drinks, I think we can take Vlad and get out of here before we find Jazz."
Maddie was silent for a few moments, letting all the information sink in. "How do you know Danny's okay," she asked finally, her pleading tone not lost on the ghost teen.
"Did you really think I'd leave him to Vlad?" he retorted with an eyebrow raised. "The damn fruitloop has way too many – oh no," Phantom cut himself off, looking very worried.
"What?" Danielle asked, before her eyes widened in realization. "You didn't…"
A resounded smack echoed through the lab, making all occupants jump and Phantom flinching heavily. Jack made a move to look back at Danny, but stopped as an angry yell echoed throughout.
"How many times! How many times do I need to tell you," Plasmius yelled. "I. AM. NOT. A. FRUIT. LOOP!"
Phantom rubbed his jaw tentatively, sparks appearing again around his gloved hands. "Okay," he said, still rubbing his jaw. "We're out of time." He glanced at the group in front of them. "Danny's distracting him, but you can't move until Vlad presses that console button. He'll be distracted enough for you to blast him across the lab. Tucker, you need to get to the control console, release Danny and stop that ecto-energy from flowing through him; anymore and we'll have a different problem to worry about."
"Got it," Tucker replied with a nod. "But Plasmius won't stay down for long."
"Right," Phantom agreed, turning to the remaining members of the group. "You all need to cover Tucker. Plasmius' go to move is duplication, so expect him to split you up." He looked at Danielle. "Don't overdo it – Plasmius is not worth your life."
Danielle scoffed. "I know what's at stake Danny," she said annoyed. "I promise, I won't transform unless I have to. But don't you dare try and keep me out of the fighting. I have a bone to pick with that fruitloop." She gave the ghost a hard glare. "You know this would be a whole lot simpler if you just told them everything."
Phantom sighed, acknowledging the girl's words. "Not yet," he said softly. He turned to the group again, his eyes lingering on Sam for a moment before speaking. "Be careful." He disappeared, leaving Jack, Maddie and the teens alone in the lab again.
Jack and Maddie looked at each other, questions swirling in their minds once again. "So… transformation?" Jack asked the youngest group member, who still seemed frustrated by Phantom's concern.
Danielle huffed. "I'm sure you'll find out eventually," she said, crossing her arms. "For right now, we need to –" she gasped, jumping at the sound of Plasmius' voice.
"Fine! I've had it!" Plasimus snarled. Jack twisted from behind the machine to look at what was happening. Danny still hung from the wall, glaring at the ghost. Plasmius was in front of the console now, typing furiously into the system. "If you won't do this willingly, then I have to make you." He pressed the button with force, sparks of ecto-energy instantly coming to life around the captured teen. Danny's body convulsed as energy ran through his veins. The boy's mouth stayed shut, trapping the scream that threatened to escape.
"Danny!" Jack exclaimed quietly. Without warning, the man yelled a battle cry and lunged directly for the vampire ghost. Startled, Plasmius was thrown backwards, before remembering his flying powers and skidded to a stop in the air.
"How did you escape!" Vlad snarled, glaring at the man. His response came in a blast courtesy of Maddie, who ran to cover her husband. The blast hit Vlad in the head the head, stunning the ghost slightly. He growled, before flying back at top speed, sending ecto-blasts towards the two hunters. Jack dodged to the right while Maddie did backward flips to avoid the onslaught.
"Kids! Get Danny!" she called out, sending another blast toward the ghost. Plasmius merely put up a pink shield to absorb the blast.
"I don't think so," he said evilly. His form glowed unnaturally before splitting into four. One duplicate went for Jack, who grabbed onto the ghost and wrestled with each other in midair. Another went to Maddie, who used her skills as a black-belt to keep a distance from Plasmius while keeping her on her toes. The other two went for Sam and Danielle, both blasting and covering Tucker, who all but ran to the console.
Once there, Tucker looked at the amount of buttons and lights flashing. He suddenly felt overwhelmed before he heard Danny bite back a scream. He looked up in anxiety to see the ring of light around Danny's waist, hovering just around his middle, sending sparks of white ecto-energy through Danny's body. Tucker swallowed, unnerved, before turning back to the task at hand.
"Any time now!" Sam yelled from behind him. He heard blasts from behind him and heard Danielle yell as Plasmius threw her into a wall.
"Have you seen what's on this console?" he replied sarcastically. "There are way too many controls on here."
Danielle recovered from her shock of being thrown into the wall, shaking her head before standing up and pointing her blaster at Vlad. "Less talking, more button pushing!" she yelled, shooting her weapon.
"What she said!" Jack yelled, tumbling through the air with Plasmius into a wall. "Oh no you don't ghost!"
Tucker did as he was told; pushing buttons on the machine while also trying to understand what exactly was going on. Tucker finally hit the green button stopping the attack on his friend. Danny's body slumped instantly, the white ring disappearing but large spurs of green and white ecto-energy moved through him.
"Danny!" Tucker cried in dismay, running towards the teen still hung on the wall.
"No!" a Plasmius yelled angrily, forgetting about Danielle and flying straight for the teen. The ghost girl ran to help Sam with her duplicate. "Not again!"
"Tucker!" Sam called in warning. It was too late; Plasmius grabbed Tucker from behind and with a yelp from the boy, pulled him up to face him.
"Nice try, child" Plasmius said smugly. "I won't lose that easily."
Tucker sent a helpless glance to Danny and started; Danny was glaring furiously at the Plasmius holding his friend. His eyes were glowing green and ecto-energy glowed around him. Tucker smirked, bracing himself. "Dude, you should really pay more attention to things around you."
Plasmius raised an eyebrow. "What are you-AH!" he yelled as he was blasted back with a wave of ecto-energy, dropping Tucker in a heap. Tucker again ran towards the now broken cell, jumped up and undid the restraints of his half-ghost friend. Danny groaned as he hit the floor, crumpled. He curled up into a ball as more of his ecto-energy moved through him.
"Thanks," Danny grunted, half-lidded green eyes turning blue.
"Ditto," Tucker said with a small smile. The smile fell as Danny tried to get up onto all fours. "Whoa, slow down."
Danny didn't heed his words; his face was dark and furious as he managed to push himself up. "Plasmius," he said darkly, his eyes once again changing colour. Danny's left eye turned green and Phantom appeared beside him, kneeling beside Tucker with an equally furious look on his face.
"About time," he said, before jumping up and joining to the fray. Phantom flew straight to the Plasmius he flew back, landing a hard punch as it disappeared. He turned to the next duplicate closest to him and sent an ecto-ray towards him, blocking him from sending one towards Sam and Danielle. Phantom then flew up, kicking the ghost in the chest, dodging a punch to the gut and delivering a punch to Plasmius' back. The duplicate disappeared, and Phantom flew towards the ghost hunters and the remaining duplicates.
Tucker turned his attention back to his friend in front of him. His eyes were back to normal and his arms were shaking in strain. "Danny…" he started before sighing. Tucker threw one of Danny's arms over his shoulder and helped him stand, bracing him as his knees buckled slightly. "Dude… you can't keep this up."
Danny sighed tiredly, looking at his friend. "I know," he said. "But I can't tell them now. Not in the middle of all this." They walked slowly out of the cell, Danny watching as his ghost half fought side by side with his Dad, tag teaming Plasmius. "When Phantom and I split, we use our core powers – all that raw energy that I kept describing back when we talked about the Ecto-Storm. Plasmius' machine just flooded my ghost core with a ton of ecto-energy. Keeping my form together without using some of my powers will mean –"
"You might release the Ecto-Storm," Tucker finished, eyes wide in concern, "In human form."
Danny nodded, seeing Sam and Danielle run up to them. Sam looked Danny over with worry before looking at Tucker for some word on how he was. "Took you long enough," Danny said with a small smile.
Sam fake scowled, a small relieved smile ghosting her lips. "Sorry, I didn't realize saving your idiotic butt would take so much time. Next time you want to play hero, provide more context would you?" she replied playfully.
"Noted." Danny turned back to the fight, vaguely hearing Tucker explain to Sam what was happening. Phantom had finally gotten rid of the second duplicate, and now all three opponents were facing Plasmius at his strength. There was a flurry of movement; Phantom and Plasmius were locked in fierce hand to hand combat, Jack fired a round of shots from his ecto-gun, not aiming at any one ghost in particular. Maddie watched the fight closely, only shooting when Phantom gave her a clean shot. He hissed slightly as one of Jack's shots grazed his ghost form's arm. So I can feel pain in both forms… great. Danny thought bitterly. Phantom flew backwards, aiming a large continuous ecto-blast at Plasmius, who put up another pink shield with a smirk on his face.
"Oh please, do you really think a little blast would stop me little badger?" Plasmius sneered. "You are far more inexperienced in this game than I am."
"Kids! Get out of here now!" Maddie called to them, drawing the attention to her. She gracefully dodged a stray ecto-blast with a back handspring and shot another ghost ray from her weapon.
Danny frowned as he noticed his parents' starting to slow down. He felt himself being pulled along by his friends before stopping them. "Pass me your ecto-gun," he said to Sam, determined.
Danielle frowned. "Danny… you shouldn't go in there."
He smiled lop-sided. "But I'm already in there," he quipped. Sam and Danielle glared at him. "I'm not joining, I promise. We just need more of a distraction." Sam sighed, but relented her weapon to her friend. He smiled in appreciation before turning to the battle at hand. Phantom was now charging straight for Plasmius, who dropped the shield in response. Pull up! Danny thought to his ghost half, and was the only warning given as Danny shot the ecto-gun directly in the line of attack. Phantom rolled in the air, narrowly avoiding the blast and watching it hit Plasmius directly in the chest. The older ghost cried out, only to be blasted 2 more times and being thrown back into a wall. Phantom watched both Jack and Maddie turn to Danny Fenton, their mouths open in disbelief and relief.
"I'll distract him – go. Now!" Phantom called to them, breaking them out of their stupor. Both parents ran towards the group of teens as his fists ignited with ecto-energy. I can buy you ten minutes. Phantom told his human half. Then we need to go back together. It's too much of a strain for us.
Agreed. Danny replied, allowing his parents to check him over. "I'm okay," he told his parents softly. "We need to go!" He felt his knees buckle slightly and Tucker's grip on his arm tighten. His parents shared an unspoken conversation between them before Jack picked Danny up, who let out an indignant yelp, before rushing through the lab.
They rushed through the lab, Danielle leading the group before finding a staircase leading upwards. Danielle stopped for a moment, signalled them forward, before running up the stairs. With reassurance from Danny, Tucker and Sam followed the younger teen, with Maddie, Jack and Danny bringing up the rear. At the top of the stairs, Danielle pulled a level, moving something large to create an opening into what looked like a large library. "This way!" she commanded, eyes scanning the room for an attack. As they passed through the room, Maddie felt a sense of déjà vu as she looked at the décor on the walls. She made a mental note to ask Danny about it later, as they continued to follow the teens in their escape.
They were through Plasmius' study when Danny heard his ghost half again.
Where are you?
Danny bristled in concern; his ghost half's question was urgent and could start to feel the exhaustion within his core. Just passed the study.
Great. New plan – brace yourself and tell everyone to cover their ears.
"Oh no…" Danny whispered out loud. Dread washed over him as he realized what was about to happen.
"What is it son?" His father asked urgently, hearing the alarm in the boy's voice. Danny looked up at him with wide eyes, shaking his head.
"Guys, take cover!" Danny warned. Danielle stopped, and she, Sam and Tucker turned to Danny with confusion, before jumping into action.
"This way!" Sam called, darting into an open room. Once everyone was inside, they shut the door swiftly. The Fentons jumped into action; Jack set Danny down as Maddie barred the door shut.
"Cover your ears! Quickly!" Danny called out. He had three seconds to prepare before the sonic waves of the ghostly wail rumbled under their feet.
See you next time! Review/follows welcome and appreciated.
