I hope everyone is safe and healthy during this pretty confusing time in the world. My job thankfully closed for a few weeks to help with self-isolation and containment here - I know there are some people that are not as lucky. The semi-positive news is that with me being stuck at home, I actually have time to sit and write to my heart's content - meaning more chapters for you guys! Least I can do for leaving you for 11 years.
So remember in the last chapter how I said I was so excited I wrote it 2 days? I finished writing this on Sunday. As of today, I'm halfway done the next chapter (the last chapter - I think) and might actually fulfill my promise of finishing this by the end of the year. Thanks again to all of those who read/reviewed/favourited/followed over the years. I still can't believe how kind you've all been.
And now... Chapter 11!
"Goin' Ghost."
The white ring of light appeared at his chest as he felt the rush of his ghost powers flood his veins. The ring split apart, one half travelling down his lower body, changing his jeans and sneakers to black pants and white boots. The upper ring travelled upwards, replacing his t-shirt with the black shirt and the familiar logo across his chest. Eyes changed from an icy blue to an electric green and black hair switched to a stark white. In a matter of seconds, Danny Fenton disappeared and Danny Phantom took his place.
Danny glared as Plasmius floated down to the ground in front of him, the older hybrid's face shocked. He ignored the gasps of shock and confusion coming from behind him, trying not to think of what his parents must be thinking.
"Do you have any idea what you've done?" Plasmius asked him, disbelief and anger edging through his voice.
Danny's eyes lit up angrily. "What I've done?" he snapped. "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you Plasmius! You wanted to call my bluff, well here we are!" Danny spread his arms wide angrily. "My parents know now. You can't hold that over me anymore."
Plasmius recovered from his initial shock and chuckled darkly at the boy's outburst. "You fool," he said smugly. "Do you really think it would be that simple? You lied to them for almost a year Daniel. Do you really think they'd accept you so quickly?" Doubt clouded Danny's face at Plasmius' words. Plasmius' smugness grew. "Will they accept all the choices you made? Will they understand your lies? Will they fully comprehend what you've done today or will they think Phantom just overshadowed Fenton?"
"Danny!?" Maddie called out to him, her confusion, shock and fear present in her voice. Danny tore his vision away from Vlad for a second and chanced looking towards his parents. Jack had his mouth open, shock and horror mixed in with guilt plastered throughout his being. Maddie almost mirrored his father's, slowly shaking her head in disbelief. Guilt overcame him as he saw what the truth did to his parents.
"Danny! Behind you!" Sam yelled in warning, bringing Danny out of his despair. He turned back to Plasmius, who had used Danny's distracted mind to his advantage; the ghost lunged toward him, making Danny fly up quickly to narrowly avoid being hit. Deciding that Plasmius was the bigger concern, Danny charged his fists with green energy, sending two streams of ecto-energy toward his foe. Plasmius dodged with ease, sending his own blast of pink energy to the young ghost's. Danny dodged, flipping in the air and flew up higher, leading Plasmius away from his friends and family. Once he felt comfortable with the distance, he turned and dived, sending a volley of blasts towards the older ghost. Plasmius blocked them, but one blast managed to get through, sending him flying.
Regaining his bearings in mid-air, Plasmius glared up arrogantly at Danny. He laughed at the look of anger the boy presented, but Plasmius knew his words were getting to him. "Admit it Daniel, you have no idea if they'll accept you," he taunted, watching his face contort with rage to cover the amount of fear and doubt he must be feeling. "I've won little badger. Their hatred for ghosts are more than their love for their children – the only person who truly understands you is me!"
"Shut up!" Danny roared, lunging at the man, launching a flurry of punches at him. Plasmius smirked as he blocked the attacks readily.
"It's almost too easy," Plasmius said, sending a punch to the teen's gut. Danny cried out as Plasmius moved to the offensive.
:-=-:
Maddie watched in horrid fascination as the ring of light they witnessed not even an hour ago on Danielle appear around her son's waist, travelling up and down his body and transformed him into a ghost she vowed to capture. She gasped sharply, watching as he didn't turn towards them, and instead locked eyes in front of him. She could see them talking, but couldn't register anything but a rush of air in her ears. Everything seemed frozen, the world shifted. From beside her, she could vaguely make out Jack making non-coherent sputtering sounds of shock and confusion – she really couldn't blame him.
"Here we go," Jazz said apprehensively, looking toward her parents cautiously. Maddie turned to her daughter, emotions running rampant across her face. Jazz wasn't surprised in the slightest by her brother's transformation; in fact, neither did any of the other teens. Tucker gave Danny a look of concern before starting the furiously type on his PDA. Danielle was yelling cheers of encouragement from her sitting position, almost all of them about kicking Plasmius' butt. Sam was frowning, looking between Danny and his parents as if there was some way to help.
"Danny!?" Maddie called out in confusion, turning her gaze back toward the ghosts in front of them. She watched as Phantom's – Danny's? – body turned to her voice. His neon green eyes were apologetic and filled with guilt as he locked eyes with her. Behind him, Plasmius moved suddenly, grinning as he launched himself towards the teen.
"Danny! Behind you!" Sam yelled in warning, snapping Danny from her gaze. He moved almost instinctively, flying up in the air to avoid the attack.
Maddie watched, her mind still racing, as Danny and Plasmius locked themselves in combat. She had seen Phantom fight multiple times, a couple times today, but never like this. There were no witty remarks, no bravado.
"How…" Jack finally said, finding his voice at last. His voice was raw with emotion, causing Maddie to tear herself away from the fighting ghosts above them to her daughter.
Jazz sighed. "The Fenton Portal," she said, turning to her parents. "I've known for a few months now, but I wasn't there in the beginning."
"We were," Sam added, not really looking at the ghost hunters. "Danny was inside the portal when he turned it on. Been like that ever since."
"Is it… really him?" Maddie asked faintly.
"Yes," all four teens empathically answered.
"Mom, it's been always been Danny," Jazz explained sympathetically. "He's a halfa, half human and half ghost."
"But… today… Phantom," she said, confused. She distractedly pointed to two places in the air.
Jazz looked at Sam, also confused. "What is she talking about?"
"Remember earlier when Danny split himself?" Sam asked the red head. Jazz's eyes widened.
"He didn't," she said, annoyed.
"Oh, he did," Sam confirmed, rolling her eyes. "Danny managed to split himself into Phantom and Fenton at the same time in order to maintain his secret. You remember what he was like after the first time? This time, he used his powers too."
"Doesn't help that Vlad bombarded him with ecto-energy either," Tucker chimed in, not looking up from the PDA as he tried to type multiple encryptions to release the shield around them. "At a certain point, he had to split himself before he unleashed the Ecto-storm in his human form."
Jazz blanched, disturbed. Turning back to the confused parents, she sighed again. "Even if you saw Phantom and Danny together, I promise you that they're the same person. He's one and the same. Danny is able to use some of his powers outside his ghost form – he must have used them to try and protect you guys before now."
"Ghost… form…." Jack said, trailing off.
Blasts from the fight above echoed in the air. The group of humans looked up to see Plasmius grabbing Danny's arm, blasting him to the side with a yell. Danny recovered in the air, holding his mid-section before creating a shield to block an onslaught of ecto-blasts sent in his direction.
"So you're telling me," Jack said slowly, unnerved, "That our son has been the ghost boy all this time? Why wouldn't he tell us!?"
Jazz, Sam and Tucker shared a look.
"Let's destroy the ghost!" Tucker exclaimed in a low booming voice.
"No, let's dissect the ghost!" Sam added sarcastically.
"How about we rip the ghost apart," Jazz continued, also in a low booming voice.
"Molecule by molecule," concluded the three teens drily.
"Yikes," Danielle said, pulling herself away from the battle to look at the two Fentons. "No wonder Danny didn't want me to transform in front of you guys." She brought herself back to the fight with a concerned frown.
Jazz raised an eyebrow at her ashamed parents. "Did you really think he would tell you? He was afraid for so long that you wouldn't accept him." She looked up at her brother in worry. Vlad now held a shield up as Danny tried to attack. "I think he still might be."
Maddie followed her gaze back to the fight above. Phantom… no… Danny was breathing hard as he continued his attack. The two ghosts exchanged a few words above them before Danny launched himself at Plasmius. The older ghost looked almost like he expected it and dodged before sending Danny flying with an ecto-blast. The boy hit the top of the blue shield with a yell of pain as it electrocuted him from behind. He fell slightly before regaining his bearings, only to be hit by a roundhouse kick sending him tumbling into the ground.
Maddie winced as she watched him struggle to get up. There was a desperation in his fighting style that Maddie had never seen during one of Phantom's fights. He never worried about having an audience unless – Maddie's eyes widened in realization. Don't you trust Danny? She remembered Danielle asking her. Whatever happens, I'm still me Danny had told her.
"Kids," she called out worriedly. "Why is he fighting like that?"
"What?" Jazz asked, confused.
"Danny," Maddie said, watching Plasmius fly at Danny at full speed. Danny managed to block the attack. "That's not Phantom's fighting style, only defending rather than attacking. He's not responding to attacks the way we've seen react in previous fights in Amity."
Jazz and Sam looked at each other, back to the fight and then back at Maddie. Danielle frowned in thought.
"She's right," she agreed. "Danny's not going on offensive; all he's doing is stalling. While getting his butt kicked I might add."
"Yes, thanks for the update," Sam replied sarcastically, also frowning in thought as she looked at her friend. "Why would Danny be stalling? This is Plasmius – Danny usually hits him with everything he's got. Unless…" she looked at Maddie in thought. She sighed. "I think… I think Danny is trying to stall until Tucker gets the shield down to escape."
"But why?" Maddie pressed. "Why would he not fight the way he knows how? What's changed?" Jazz looked at her exasperatedly. "Oh…." She replied. She looked over at Jack before turning back to the fight at hand. "It's us. He's afraid of showing us all of his powers. He's afraid –"
"That we might reject him," Jack finished dejectedly. "Of course he is, we gave him no reason to believe otherwise!"
"Then maybe it's time to change that," Danielle said, smiling in acceptance at their admission. She turned back to the feuding half-ghosts; Danny flew into the ground and up again, punching Vlad in the jaw. Plasmius cursed as he skidded away onto the ground. Danny floated in the air, panting while holding his side. "I don't think he can keep this up much longer."
"What do you mean?" Jack asked.
The answer never came. Plasmius threw Danny towards the ghost-human shield again, the boy letting out a yelp at the attack. Once he hit the shield, it lit up with sparks of energy, causing him to scream. He fell, dazed, straight into the ghost shield, which lit up with ecto-energy as it tried to expel the threat. Danny bounced off the shield and landed on the ground hard in front of Danielle, Sam and Jazz. He stayed on the ground for a few moments, gasping, before pushing himself upwards on his hands and knees.
"Danny!" Sam yelled out to him. He groaned in response, shaking his head slightly. His breathing came out in pants as he struggled into a crouched position, one hand on his chest while the other held him up. He continued to glare at Plasmius, who seemed to gleefully float a distance away, watching the downed boy struggle.
"Any luck?" he asked tiredly.
"Tucker's still working on it," Jazz told him worriedly.
"Great," he said distractedly. He winced slightly, hissing as he pulled at his side. Maddie and Jack came over to him at the shield but Danny didn't turn towards them. "Tuck, I'm going to need you to hurry it up."
Tucker looked up from his screen annoyed. "Like I wasn't doing that already?" he asked sarcastically. He glanced back down at his PDA frowning. "I'm close to breaking Vlad's firewall, but when he's as well connected as he is, these firewalls are almost impenetrable. Not to mention the actually time needed to take down the shield."
"Okay," Danny said, wincing again as he moved. "I'll give you as much time as I can. As soon as that shield goes down, grab the speeder and stay in the ghost shield." Danny was about to launch into the air again when his father stopped him.
"Danny wait!" Jack called out. Danny bristled at his Dad's voice but did not make a move to turn around.
"Danny," Maddie said coaxingly, "We know you're trying to protect us, but it's okay. We're okay."
At that, Danny did turn his head to look at his parents, confused and ashamed. "What-" he started, only to be cut off.
"It's okay," his mother reassured, smiling at the confused ghost teen in front of her.
"She's right son," Jack agreed proudly. "Show Plasmius what you can do. Don't hold back."
Danny held their gaze for a few seconds, doubt, guilt and confusion swimming in his green eyes before a genuine smile of relief washed over his face. "With pleasure," he said determinedly, finally showing glimmers of what both hunters saw in Phantom. Turning back to the ghost in front of him, Danny growled as he leapt into the air and launched himself at Plasmius.
"Hey cheesehead," he yelled, sending three discs of ecto-energy toward Vlad. The older hybrid dodged all three, but Danny used the narrow window of surprise to punch the man across the grounds. "I've had enough of your lies. Why don't you just try getting a cat!"
Plasmius skidded to a stop in mid-air before sending a strong pink ecto-blast toward Danny. Danny put up a small ecto-shield and pushed against the energy, moving backward in the struggle. Even with him fighting at his full strength, he was still at a disadvantage. Finally, he was able to push against the energy and make it disappear, only slightly winded as he watched Plasmius fly towards him. Steeling himself, he matched every punch and kick with his own, able to land one nasty roundhouse kick to Vlad's abdomen and hit him with an ecto-blast, sending Plasmius crashing to the ground. Danny floated lower as he watched Plasmius get up slowly.
Moving his cape out of the way, Plasmius gripped his arm as his red eyes bore into the electric green ones of his young enemy. "I'm done playing games," he said darkly. Danny stiffened in anticipation but it was too late. Before he had even realized, a Plasmius duplicate grabbed him from behind and bombarded him with ecto-energy, making the younger half-ghost scream in agony. Once satisfied, the duplicate threw him up in the air, watching his body roll limply in the air. The original Plasmius flew up quickly, charged a pink ecto-blast and sent a stream of energy towards the boy's chest. The blast hit Danny, sent him soaring across the grounds again and hit the human – ghost shield about 15 feet away from his friends and family. Danny screamed again as he was not only shocked from the shield, but held in place by Plasmius' attack.
"Danny!" his friends and family yelled at him, running to the edge closest to him. He was too far away from them to do anything.
"Tucker!?" Sam asked impatiently, watching in worry as her friend was being attacked with no remorse.
"I'm working as fast as I can here!" he yelled back anxiously, picking up the pace on his typing. "Come on dude- hang in there for just a bit longer!" He let out an excited cry as he finally made it through the firewall.
Plasmius stopped the attack. Not being held up any longer, Danny fell forward, rolling through the air and landed with a resonate thud face first into the ground. He didn't move as Plasmius merged with his duplicate, floating a short distance away, or as Jazz, Danielle and his parents yelled out to him.
"Did it really need to come to this Daniel?" Vlad said in fake exasperation. He crossed his arms as he floated closer to the ground. "We could have been on the same side."
Above them, the clear night sky started to become darker, as dark green clouds moved in. Noticing the change, Tucker chanced looking up and saw the clouds. He frowned slightly as they started to merge together, almost encompassing the entire shield. "Shit," he swore quietly, paling as his eyes moved from the increasing weather changes to his best friend lying face down on the ground. He recognized the signs; Danny's hand curled into a fist. "Sam," he called in warning, drawing out the vowel in her name as his voice pitched upward.
"What?" she answered annoyed. Tucker pointed up and she gasped.
"Oh no," she said dreadfully. She turned to the older hybrid, still glaring down her friend taunting him. "Plasmius, stop!"
The ghost raised his eyebrow at the teen. "Or what?" he asked sarcastically. "Going dye my clothes black?" Ignoring her, he turned back to what he deemed to be the more enticing threat. "Even your little fan club knows that you won't be able to defeat me."
Thunder rumbled from above as the wind picked up. Jazz's eyes widened as she finally realized what was happening. "He wouldn't… right?" she asked desperately to both Sam and Tucker.
"Danny, get up!" Danielle called out to her cousin.
"I don't think it's intentional," Sam replied, still looking fearfully at Danny face first in on the ground.
Jack and Maddie continued to call out to their son over the howls of the wind around them.
"I have 20 years of experience over you, little badger," Plasmius continued, enjoying his victory. "All you had to do was renounce your father and joined me. Instead, all you are is a pathetic little hero."
Green lightning hit the top of the dome with an explosion, stopping everyone in their tracks. Plasmius looked up, startled, as the storm started to rage outside of the shield. Lightning continued to hit the shield, as if attacking, with ferocity. Wild green ecto-energy started to whip around inside the shield, causing the older hybrid to put a shield around him. He turned back to Danny and gasped.
Danny was attempting to stand, slowly staggering to his feet. He kept his head low, face hidden under a mess of white hair. A circle of light with his emblem appeared at his feet as raw energy moved around him. His anger boiled towards Vlad, feeling his core react and raw energy fill his veins. Flashes of memories of the night thus far surrounded him as the energy encased him.
"Don't hold back!"
"Focus Fenton!"
"My guess? Balance?"
"We're the same person!"
"I am the 'another way'"
"Why are you holding our ghost core in our mindscape?"
We're the same person.
"Daniel?" Plasmius asked tentatively, watching the exhibit of power in front of him.
"My name," Danny said his voice distant yet commanding. He raised his head to face Vlad's worried and fearful gaze. "Is Danny!" His right eye turned a vivid blue as he released the full power of his Ecto-Storm within the shield.
"No!" Jazz, Sam and Tucker yelled frightfully, worry and concern as the raw energy almost exploded out of Danny's body in waves.
Tucker suddenly dropped the PDA, wringing his hands, as the small electronic device started to spark. "Damn it!" he yelled angrily. "Danny's making the shield wig out – I can't break it!"
"What is that!?" Maddie yelled in alarm as she watched streams of ecto-energy pour out of her son.
Sam swallowed thickly. "That," she said worriedly, "Is one of two powers that he can't control yet."
The entire group turned back toward Danny in concern. His hands gestured to the areas of attack and streams of raw blue-white and green energy streamed out, destroying everything it touched. In the middle of the emblem, Danny paused looking down at his hands. There was no pain in it nor did he feel like it was almost eating him alive. He smiled, feeling secure for the first time in this power. "I can control it…" he whispered in awe. Eyes narrowing, his hands curled into fists as he searched for his enemy. Sure enough, he saw the older hybrid just a few feet away, still holding his shield with a look of absolute horror on his face. Surges of energy lashed out against the human-ghost shield, making it sizzle and spark as it tried to contain the onslaught of attacks.
"How!?" Plasmius exclaimed, watching Danny control the energy with ease. "Half-ghosts shouldn't be able to use raw energy!"
Danny glared darkly, before jumping in the air and launching himself at Plasmius, the hurricane that encircled him following. Plasmius held his shield firm as Danny hit it, but the boy waved his arm and a large wave of ecto-energy hit Plasmius, sending him flying. Plasmius flew backward on the ground, hitting the ground in bounces. He stood up slowly, still gaping at the raw display of power coming from the teen. Danny floated towards him slowly, blue and green eyes shining intently as he brought more ecto-energy around him.
"Daniel stop!" Plamius said fearfully, no longer concerned about the fight. "This is too much power for your core to hold! Think about what this could do to you!"
Danny paused for a moment, hand outstretched. He felt his core almost hum with the ability to let all of this power loose, but also felt the almost electric sparks ready to explode through his body. It was a fine line between life and death that he drew from – and it was exhilarating. He considered briefly to heed the ghost's words, but remembered why he was here fighting in the first place. Danny turned to his family and friends, who were watching almost horrified as he attacked. The swirling energy around him glowed menacingly as his eyes narrowed at half-ghost in front of him. "I won't" Danny started, his voice still not quite his own, "Let you hurt them." Danny's eyes widened and the swirling energy around him expelled in mass waves. One of the waves hit Plasmius and he was blasted back with a yell. He hit the blue shield hard, waves of energy continued to lash out until he was finally blast through his own shield, out of the battle and out of Danny's wrath.
With Plasmius defeated, Danny turned to the mansion. He closed his eyes and opened them again, still different coloured, signalling the hurricane of ecto-energy around him to leave and move directly for the billionaire's home. The lightning above finally broke through the shield (helped in part by Vlad's departure) sending large pieces of it crashing down towards him. The ring at his feet pulsed as the entire shield fragments started to break apart, not hitting the boy or the group under the ghost shield.
Watching the storm destroy Vlad's Wisconsin base, Danny collapsed to his knees, panting from exertion. He breathed tiredly, only now realizing what he went through. "I….I did it!" he said amazed. He laughed, giddily and breathless, as he sank deeper to his knees. "I actually did it!"
"For Cripes Sakes!"
Danny turned, startled, to see the Dairy King floating next to him. The ghost next to him had his mouth open in shock as he watched the stone walls of the mansion come down.
"Dairy King?" Danny asked, confused. Guilt bubbled in his chest as he looked back to the destruction he was causing and cringed. "Oh man, I'm sorry-"
"Don'tcha worry about it," the ghost replied, waving his hand like it was nothing. "Plasmius has destroyed my castle a few times now, believe you me. It was only a matter of time before he did it again."
Danny's blue and green eyes lit up slightly, giving him the energy to slowly stand up. "Thank you," he said appreciatively. "You saved my family – I don't know how I'll ever repay you."
"Uff-da," Dairy King replied with a smile. "You've done so much for us ghosts Halfling, it's us that needs to repay you, don't ya know." He turned to the chaos in front of him wistfully. "Besides, I think it's time I head to the ghost zone. With all this fighting out here in the human world, I think settling into a nice haunt would do me good, don'tcha think?"
"Danny!"
Danny turned at the voices, watching as Danielle, Jazz, Sam and Tucker ran towards his emblem, with his parents following a short distance behind. Danielle got to him first.
"That. Was. Awesome!" she exclaimed excitedly, bouncing up and down in front of him. Danny frowned as he noticed beads of ectoplasm running down her face. "The way you controlled that lightning? Not to mention the big blasts of energy! AND YOU FREAKEN SENT VLAD FLYING!"
Danny chuckled slightly as his friends and sister came around him.
"You okay?" Jazz asked, a concerned frown on her face. He managed to smile and shrugged noncommittally. Jazz sighed in both relief and frustration.
"You did it!" Tucker exclaimed, punching the air. "You actually managed to do it!"
Sam said nothing, instead moved closer to the ghost boy as she looked him over. Like Jazz, she could tell that something wasn't quite right.
Before the boy could respond to the concern and praise, Dairy King coughed. "I guess I'll be off then," he said, raising his sceptre. It glowed green and a ghost portal appeared.
"Wait!" Danielle said, turning towards him. "I'm coming too."
"Danielle," Danny said with a frown. He faltered slightly; Sam grabbed him to keep him upright but Danny paid no attention to his body's movements. Sam frowned in concern. "You don't have to go you know."
Danielle smiled at him sadly. "Being in the Ghost Zone will help me stabilize," she said matter-of-factly. She looked beyond the teens to see his parents lingering a couple feet away, not sure if they should intrude. She gave them a reassuring smile before turning back to her cousin. "Besides, you'll have a lot to deal with here. I'll be back – don't you worry! You can't keep this ghost girl down for long."
With a final wave from all parties, both Dairy King and Danielle walked through the ghost portal, it closing promptly.
"Danny?" Sam questioned as she looked at his face. Danny was starting to pale slightly, but continued to keep his powers going.
"Not yet," he murmured, breaking away from the girl, and turning to his parents with apprehension. Both Jack and Maddie were standing awkwardly, confusion, worry and a bit of something else hidden in their faces. He started to make his way over to them, slowly walking before he stumbled, letting out a cry in pain.
"Danny!" they all exclaimed. Maddie ran forward just as Danny fell and caught him; she was surprised at how light he was when in this form.
"What's wrong," Jack asked, appearing over Maddie's shoulder in worry. Danny had his eyes closed and breathing hard, but white and green sparks of energy flowed through his body, making him shudder against his mother.
Jazz, Sam and Tucker exchanged worried looks. "This isn't good," Sam said, moving towards them quickly. "Danny," she said gently, trying not to let her worry show too strongly. "You need to stop the Ecto-Storm okay?"
Danny made no inclination that he heard her. The storm around them kept going as more sparks of energy moved through him. Suddenly, the emblem on the ground started to glow, engulfing the entire area with a white light. The clouds overhead cleared, the energy around them dissipated, leaving behind a large ruin of a mansion in its wake. The storm ceased as Danny fell limp in his mother's grasp.
"Danny!" Maddie called to him anxiously. She looked at Sam. "Should we be worried?"
Sam frowned as she looked over the unconscious ghost in front of them. Large bruises and burns covered his frame as smaller sparks of ecto-energy ran through him, but he was breathing somewhat normally. "He's probably safer if he stays in ghost form," she said finally. "He heals a lot faster that way. He'll transform back eventually."
Maddie moved some hair out of his face tenderly. She frowned, taking in his injuries, but also taking in his features as she held him in her arms. Apart from the ghostly aura, the white hair and the hazmat suit, he looked positively normal. She inwardly cursed at how obvious his secret identity was now that she was staring it in the face. "My baby boy," she whispered to him, patting his hair softly as she hugged him closer.
"We shouldn't stay here," Jazz said getting their attention. "Once daylight hits, this destruction is going to be mainstream news. Besides, Danny has been through a lot today – and we're going to have a lot to talk about."
Jack nodded. "Jazzy's right," he said, moving to take Danny from his wife. She transferred him gently, careful not to agitate him in any way. "Come on," he told them softly, turning towards the speeder. The group followed the man towards the speeder, only stopping briefly as a white ring of light appeared at Danny's midsection, transforming the half-ghost back to his human self. Once assured that he was fine, they loaded themselves into the speeder. Jack put Danny down on the ground as Jazz, Sam and Tucker raided the cabinets of the speeder for every first aid kit they could find and started tending to Danny's wounds. Maddie programmed the Auto-Jack pilot for Amity Park and then they were off.
They were finally going home.
I hope that this lived up to you expectations. Leave a review to let me hear what you thought! Thanks again!
