The Belarusian sighted as she shut the door close, leaving her ice coffee on the table. Then she kneeled down beside Ivan's body. Natalya covered her nose immediately due to the foul smell coming from the corpse, if she doesn't do anything about it, the neighbors will soon notice. As she continued to stare intently at her brother, she felt like bursting into tears, but she held them back. Ivan had already made her cry countless times and she wasn't going to shred a single tear more. Regret filled her heart as she placed her warm hand on her brother's cold cheek and caressed it. Why? Why would she do such a thing to her dear brother?
"Natalya, you need to stop following me everywhere!"
The tall Russian man yelled at his little sister, who was standing with her head down and hiding a knife behind her back.
"Big brother, I'm just looking out for you".
She replied quietly, taking a step more and approaching Ivan.
"You're stalking me! You need to leave me alone, I don't need a babysitter".
He shouted, noticing that Natalya had gotten closer, he retreated and bumped against a bookshelf, making it fall on the floor.
"You're dating someone right? I can feel you getting nervous".
The Belarussian pierced her glare at him and Ivan immediately looked away, he was nervous indeed.
"W-what are you talking about?"
She was now standing right in front of her big brother, she could hear his heartbeat going faster, he was lying.
"You're lying to me Ivan, why are you lying to me? why?"
Ivan had no where to escape once he stumbled on the bookshelf and pressed his back on the wall. It was a dead end.
"Natalya you're crazy!"
Those were the Russian's last words, afterwards she pulled out the knife she had been hiding and stabbed him on the neck rapidly. Just one thrust was enough to kill him, he collapsed on the floor as blood splashed all over the place. Leaving Natalya with red stains smeared all over her face. A loud scream followed by sobbing and howling was heard. She threw herself on the still warm body of Ivan, hugging him tightly, but he would never return the hug.
Natalya quickly snapped out of the flashback from the day before and stood up. Now she had to fix it, she couldn't bring the dead back from the grave so there was no use crying about it. She had been controlled by her emotions and jealousy which led her to commit an atrocity and she will never forgive herself for murdering the love of her life. Yes, she was in love with her own big brother and she knew that it was wrong, but at the same time, you don't choose who to fall in love with. It's the heart that decides it.
"I'm sorry big brother".
She apologized and closed Ivan's eyes, so he could finally rest.
The next day, she was early for her creative writing class again. She sat down on her usual seat with her note book opened and playing with her pen as usual. Then Mr. Laurinaitis walked into the class. He looked down on his watch, he still had 5 minutes before starting the lesson. Toris turned to see Natalya, early as always and he smiled at her. Very unexpectedly, she returned the smile, which made the Lithuanian somewhat uneasy. Sure, she had a gorgeous smile but seeing her happy was so rare that it was scary. The professor held his breath and walked over to her, grinning in a silly way.
"I see that you're in a good mood today missArlovskaya".
Natalya looked down on her notebook, still with that smile on her face.
"Thanks to the conversation we had yesterday, I have found the inspiration to write a sequel for my project".
She confessed, quite excited about her new writing project outside of class and her excitement could be shared with his teacher.
"That's wonderful! I'm so glad to have incentivated you, what is the plot for the sequel?"
He asked, genuinely intrigued in Natalya's plan for the continuation of her novel.
"Well, I actually wanted to talk with you about it. I would love to get some feedback to know how to improve it".
Toris was shocked, who would've thought that his brilliant student would ever ask for his help. It made him really happy that she wanted to learn more about creative writing and he was willing to give her all the help needed.
"I'm so glad you asked, of course I can help you developing the plot and if you need support with the editing or anything I'm here to help you out! I'll meet you after class in my office then miss Arlovskaya".
Natalya nodded with her sweet smile swifting into a flirtatious grin.
"You can call me Natalya, mr. Laurinaitis".
Toris felt his cheeks burning and his knees shaking. It was a strange feeling that Natalya was giving him. So unusual from her and mysterious, which made her terribly attractive. The professor quickly turned away from her, to avoid her piercing glares. It was wrong of him to find miss Arlovskaya attractive, for goodness sake he was his teacher and he was much older than her!
"Good morning everyone, let's get started with today's lesson yes?"
The teacher began the class and he couldn't help but feel observed by the Belarusian during the whole period. It was disturbing at some point, but he decided to not pay attention to it and concentrate on his class. Natalya was just grateful that he encouraged her to continue the project and that was it.
"Should we go to my office N-natalya?"
The Lithuanian asked, with his voice a bit shaky. He never calls his students by their names but since she asked to be called that way, Toris couldn't reject her. Natalya had only recently begin to open up with him and he didn't want to ruin that.
Natalya nodded and followed his teacher to his office, where she was being questioned the day before.
"So, miss Arlovskaya, I mean Natalya! Sorry I keep messing up, I'm just not quite used to it yet".
Toris explained himself as he took a seat in his office and signaled her to take a seat as well.
"Would it help if I called you by your name as well?"
The professor looked surprised, none of his students ever call him by his name, some of them don't even know his name.
"If you find it disrespectful then I apologize".
The Belarussian said, looking away and feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Oh not at all! I was just surprised that you knew my name, not everyone takes their creative writing teacher so seriously".
Toris laughed if off, hoping to not make the conversation awkward and they could concentrate and what they were going to discuss.
"About the sequel, I wanted to start it with Bree having a new love interest. A way to show that she has finally gotten over Archie".
Mr. Laurinaitis nodded, seemingly engaged in what his student was explaining.
"And who would that love interest be?"
Natalya paused for a second before answering and looked straight into Toris' eyes.
"Her boss, who is much older than her but gives her a sense of security and helps her find herself".
The teacher listened with attention, completely focused in what she was saying.
"Well, so far it seems like you have it all planned out! You don't need my help at all Natalya".
He explained, followed by a giggle.
"Thank you but I still have to write it out, I haven't planned what will happen to her next but I have time to figure it out".
She stood up afterwards, picking up her backpack and walking towards the door to leave.
"Goodbye Toris".
The Lithuanian didn't even have time to say goodbye properly since she left so suddenly. It was quite strange, but after all, Natalya was a strange girl and no one knew what was going on her head. He glanced at the Belarusian's project laying on his desk. He had always found it strange that she was able to describe some of the scenes so vividly, she was just a beginner writer and it was quite surprising. Toris didn't want to think about it but he couldn't ignore the fact that maybe she received help from a professional writer to finish the project. The ending of the story where Archie was murdered was just so vivid. It was as if you were in the crime scene and saw it all. He made a mental note to himself to investigate further on miss Arlovskaya.
Natalya was home already, she was exhausted from her classes and from staying up until late the night before. She changed into more comfortable clothes and decided to reward herself with a beer she placed in the fridge. When she opened the door, Ivan's head rolled off from the inside and fell right on her hands.
"I forgot I put you in here big brother".
