Toris gripped her throat tightly until Natalya stopped struggling. She wasn't swinging her arms anymore and the kicking had ceased. The Lithuanian let her go once he noticed that she wasn't reacting anymore. He looked down at her, laying on the bed without moving and he panicked. Could it be that he killed her?
"Oh god, what have I done?"
The professor took a few steps back as he clenched his fist and punched the wall a few times in frustration. He just became what he feared most: a cold blooded murderer. He wasn't supposed to kill her, Toris only planned on knocking her out so he could escape but things got out of hands. Suddenly he was invaded by rage when he was strangling Natalya, that wasn't supposed to happen. Now what was he supposed to do? Mr Laurinaitis wasn't psychotic enough to dismember her and get rid of her the same way she did with Ivan. Even though he just killed the love of his life, he still believed that he had some decency. The teacher wanted to run out of the room, run out of the house and ride the next plane to wherever but he couldn't be in that place any longer. Toris was scared to run away since the neighbors will soon find her body and his DNA was all over the place. It was just so difficult to commit the perfect crime, especially if it was without meditation.
While the Lithuanian was walking around the room in circles, planning on his next move, he didn't hear miss Arlovskaya getting up from bed and taking a shovel from her closet. Without any warning when the professor least expected, she appeared behind him like a phantom and gave him a fatal blow on the head with the shovel.
"Sorry about that, darling".
She said coldly while staring at the pool of blood that was forming beside Toris' head. She didn't hit him hard enough to kill him but just enough to have him unconscious for a few hours.
"I really didn't want to go so far".
Natalya sighted, pulling his boyfriend up from the floor and dragging him like a ragdoll to the kitchen. She sat him down on one of the chairs and proceeded to tie him up against the chair, just in case he wakes up before time and tries to get away. She wasn't going to let her guard down again, he almost killed her 5 minutes ago and if she hadn't been smart enough to play dead then Toris would've gotten away with what he wanted.
Miss Arlovskaya grabbed a mop as she began cleaning up the trail of blood that the Lithuanian had left on her floor. Thankfully the blood stains were fresh and they were easy to remove. Last time with Ivan, her knees were soar from scrubbing the floor so hard. Soon she was done and now she had to take care of all the decorations he had placed for their anniversary. Natalya felt a wave of sadness invade her as she was throwing the roses and the food to the trash. She appreciated the gesture but clearly, the professor didn't want to be with her anymore and the proposal was just a escape route for him. Miss Arlovskaya felt a sharp pain from her neck and when she saw her reflection in the mirror, his boyfriend's fingers had left a mark on her neck. She wasn't sure if those were permanent or if it will disappear but she had to cover up. She was lucky enough to have a sweet sister that every winter will knit her a new scarf, so she just put it on and covered it up.
Natalya wandered around the house, her eyes began watery as she remembered all those happy memories she shared with her boyfriend in that apartment. Her memories were very vivid and it was as if yesterday she woke up by his side for the first time. It was heartbreaking to think that something so wonderful could end up in misery so quickly. The Belarusian didn't even know who to blame, she killed Ivan so that was on her, but Toris shouldn't have been looking through her stuff. She went back to her bedroom filled with rage as she picked up the damn red box and three it to the fire from her chimney. She glared at the fire devouring her last remaining memories with Ivan. Natalya no longer had to hold on to those, and she should've gotten rid of them a long time ago, probably since the day she started dating Toris. Now it was too late, there was no way she can get the Lithuanian to love her again, there was no hope for them. Miss Arlovskaya still hadn't figure out what to do with her lover, who was sitting unconscious on the kitchen chair. One thing was clear and it was that she didn't want to murder him. Natalya loved him dearly and losing a great love like mr Laurinaitis would take a lifetime for her to recover. After analyzing the situation over and over, she decided that she was going to let him go. If he wanted to call the police and send her to jail, that was fine. If he never wanted to talk or see her ever again, that was alright. The Belarusian only knew that she didn't want to have any more regrets.
"Toris, wake up".
She mumbled as she got on one knee to untie him. Natalya noticed that there was a lot of blood dripping, more than it should, which scared her. Did she kill him on accident?
"Darling you're free to go, get up and leave".
She was sounding desperate as she lifted his head up and didn't see him open his eyes.
"Toris for god's sake wake up!"
The Belarussian cried out and began shaking him violently, which eventually led to the Lithuanian falling from the chair and collapsing on top of her. She wasn't going to let this happen again, she didn't want to lose another loved one just because she was heated in the moment.
"Don't you dare to die, love".
