Chapter Six
"Stop"
Zeref was flipping the book he held inside his reading room when he heard a mini quake coming from the room where Lucy being held captive. He sighed as he closed the book with one hand earning a loud 'thud!'
"That girl…" he sighed again as he massaged his temple and sat up from the comfy chair. He walked to the side of the hall of his mansion and went upstairs through the old circular staircase. The wood squeaked at every step he took. He went to the door with the softest texture of wood. He digs his pocket and brought out a jingle of keys. After carefully lifted the key one by one and found the perfect match with the key hole that the door in front of him owned, he inserted the key and the door gave a quick 'click'. He swung open the door and was greeted with messy room. He sighed again for the numerous times today. Zeref glanced through the room and spotted the girl with things floating around her as her mouth chanted a spell.
"What have you done now, Lucy?" His voice broke her concentration as the floating things hit the ground hard and the magic circle on her eyes disappeared. So that what was creating the mini quake just now. "I think I have done a terrible thing by letting you free without my consent."
"You are disturbing me." Lucy said coldly.
"And what do you think you are doing rather than eating your dinner over the table?"
"It's up to me whether I want to eat or not."
"It's also my responsibility to make sure you are healthy."
"Why do you care?"
"Since when did you think about my opinion?"
"Forget it. Leave." She turned her head and continued the ministration she displayed earlier. One by one the things on the ground floated around her and another magic circle could be seen on her eyes. She raised her hands mid-way with her palms facing the roof. Zeref's eyebrows twitched and he snapped his finger. The various things abruptly fell again to the floor and turned into dust. Lucy glared at him.
"What the hell? Can't you just leave me alone?!" She gritted her teeth.
"Listen to me, Lucy Heartfillia."
"…Where are you bringing us to, Hibiki?" The blonde haired man turned his head as a menacing but confused voice called behind him.
"Don't worry, Erza. I know where that bastard took Lucy, so just leave it to me." He confidently grinned while giving Titania double thumbs up.
"…Sure, Hibiki, sure. We would if you said that FIVE HOURS EARLIER!" They―people who were appointed by Makarov to tag along—shouted.
"Yeah! How do you fucking expect us to walk on a tiny road, hike a fucking high mountain, and swim on a river and not to mention its five kilometer long!" Gray slapped Hibiki's head. "And without rest on top of it all! Do you have a grudge on us or something, huh?"
"C-Calm down! I'm just too absorbed in finding Lucy with my archive magic that I didn't realize we had been through that … lot."
Gray turned to the almost snapped Erza with the most bored expression, "Erza, can I kill him?"
"Can I strangle him?" Lyon added without any hesitation.
"Erza-san, please give me permission to drown him!" Sting stood up from his sitting position on the ground and raised his hand before talking. He was jumping up and down eagerly while grin crept up on his face.
Wizards these days, killing people like drinking milk.
"W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-Wait! If you kill me now, you will have no lead about Lucy whereabouts!" They halted.
"Oh, you're right. Lead us then, Hibiki. Come on guys. We can kill him later after we got our Lucy back." Erza walked forward with a smirk as Hibiki sighed in relieve only to stop mid-way upon realizing what Erza meant.
"You gave them permission to kill me!?" he cried in frustration.
"…What?"
"That's right."
"Don't "that's right" me! It doesn't make sense at all! You are a liar! You always be!" Lucy shouted in anger but halted upon realizing what she had just said.
'Wait? "You always be"..?'
"See, Lucy? Deep down you remembered it all. You have no rights to refuse what I had just told you. It was right, after all."
"You liar!"
"I am not." He sighed and walked towards the bed she sat on. She flinched and backed away slightly. He stood a foot in front of her and stared at her cautious gaze. He mentally chuckled. She is not like this when they first met. She is not like this when she always played with him. She is not like this when they are in touchable range. Somehow, it all has changed.
Zeref caressed her cheek lovingly as she flinched at his every touch. "Do you know how long I have been watching you? Do you know how long I have been holding back not to slash your-so-called-friends' throat?" Zeref moved forward until his lips nearly touching Lucy's. "Do you know how long I have wanted to make you mine again?" She shivered as if she could feel his smirk. "Remember, Lucy. Remember. Remember our old days… How you kissed me, how you embraced me, how you said you loved me…" Lucy was trembling as she tried to push Zeref away with her weak hands.
"…No, stop…"
At this moment, Zeref's hand was clutching her arm tightly, almost painful but he paid no heed. "Do you realize how long have I waited until you are finally here?"
"No, no, no, NO!" Lucy struggled in his grips and tried to busy herself so she doesn't have to hear what he wanted to said to break her entirely.
"Listen to me, Lucy. LISTEN!" he growled angrily and Lucy stopped her ranting as she stared at him wide eyes.
"You are mine, not theirs! You should learn about that! Tie it inside your mind. You are mine, Rushielle Heartfillia."
"N-No… I am Fairy Tail's! I am not yours!" She shuttered and struggled softly against his grips.
"Say it. Say that you are mine! Say it, Rushielle!" Zeref shouted at her face, earning a shocked and frightened face from her.
"I am not Rushielle! I am Lucy! I am Lucy's Fairy Tail! Let me go!" She said firmly but her tears betrayed herself. Zeref's feature softened as his thumb brushed aside her tears.
"Why are you crying, Rushielle? Why are you afraid of me?" He asked her softly and smiled a little but tensed once again, "It's that filthy guild, isn't it? It's their fault, right? They are brain-washing you, right? It's okay, it's okay… I will kill them the next time we met again so you can rest assured, my Princess. The unworthy trash will be eliminated… Soon enough."
Lucy felt like every air she inhaled had just left her lungs. She even forgot how to breathe until her world started to blur and she saw a panic expression of Zeref when he started to shake her body roughly.
"Breath, Lucy! Breath!" When she heard that sentences, it was the time she released the last breath she held inside and she collapsed onto the bed.
"LUCY!"
Meanwhile at some different places, all the dragon slayers halted at whatever they are doing and started to breathe heavily. Unconsciously, they started to clutch their chests and tears threatened to fall. Their comrade stared at them with question mark hanged on top of their heads.
All the celestial spirits also halted at whatever they are doing and fell to the ground, feeling the sudden weakness that washed over them.
Fairy Tail mainly focused their eyes on their four dragon slayers and Sabertooth's dragon slayers.
"What's wrong with the six of you?" At the same time when Erza asked them, Lucy's celestial spirits fell to the ground with a loud 'thud'. Even Libra, Pisces and Ophiuchus—Yukino's spirits—was forced open gates themselves and fell to the ground, screaming and roaring. Somehow, Pisces was in their human form—a mother and her son—with scales nearly all over their exposed body and Ophiuchus is in human form—trashed everywhere in pain.
"W-What happened!?" They shouted in shock. Suddenly, their zodiac signs appeared as a light on their forehead and they roared to the sky. All the dragon slayers were emitting their element from their body and also roared to the sky before both of the races fell to the ground one by one, exhausted.
"Are you okay?!" They helped their friends as Wendy can't help them seeing she was one of them, on the ground, crying in pain.
No one speaks.
Until a soft squeak and sobbing was heard from the smallest dragon slayer.
"…L-Lucy-san…"
They halted in guard.
"What happened to Lucy, Wendy?" Erza gripped her and helped her into sitting position. She brought her head up and stared at the armor girl with tears.
"Lucy-san is…!"
