CHAPTER SEVEN:
That was then. This is now.
For the whole two years, Scorpius and I were together, they were two years filled with love, passion, support and commitment. Scorpius and I were not just a couple, we were partners, best friends, soulmates.
Everything was going so well, and life just made sense. It seemed impossible, for someone to come between us, impossible, for either of us want to throw away what we had, yet he did.
Five words: Sirena Chang. Welcome back party.
The holidays leading up to my seventh and final year at Hogwarts were bliss. Summery days at home, being surrounded by my family. Warm evenings spent outside catching fireflies, or in Hugo's and dads' case, catching just normal flies and casting a spell on them so they would 'glow'.
'Your dad and Hugo amuse me in their attempt to catch fireflies' my mum says, as she sits beside me on the back porch, wrapping her arm around my shoulder.
'Every time' I smile back.
'You know Rose, this is it this year, this is the year to make it count' looking at me, smiling.
'I am so proud of you, Precious'. Precious, is my mum's name she uses to call me, as when I was little, I used to think my name was Precious, instead of Rose because she always used to call me her 'precious little flower'
'Thanks, mum' I smile back at her, she is the best.
'I can't think of anyone better for you to go through your last year this year, other than Scorpius' she says as we look to the sky.
My parents loved Scorpius, from the beginning, my mum liked him before we started dating, and when she found out we were dating, every time he would visit in the holidays, they would get along so well. My dad was cautious of him at first, not because he was a Malfoy, but because his little girl had a boyfriend, but once he discovered they both loved the Chudley Cannons, it was a competition as to who loved them more, and my dad never complained about me having a boyfriend again. My parents were never prejudiced about last names and old rivalries. They say time and experiences change people, and holding grudges are a thing of the past. They learned to have open hearts and open minds and brought Hugo and me up the same.
When I first met Scorpius's parents, it was the end of term holidays of the fifth year. We had just started dating that term, and we both agreed to introduce each other to our parents. Scorpius had already met my parents, contrary to Albus, but I, however, had never spoken one word to his and only had seen them at Platform 9 ¾ whenever school commenced.
His parents were nice enough, however, I found his mum much more approachable than his dad, it doesn't mean he wasn't a nice person, he just collectively failed at human interaction, well according to Scorpius, but I can agree on that.
'I wouldn't want it to be with anyone else' I say, coming back into reality, away from the pondering thoughts.
That night, I owl Scorpius, catching him up on my day. The next morning, we have organised to go to Diagon Alley, and pick up a few last-minute supplies before school starts next week.
Usually, within an hour or so, I always receive a letter back.
However, that night I never received one. Try not to overthink it, Rose, you'll see him in the morning.
