Mclean Bible Church Prince William Campus, Prince William County, VA, USA.
Zachary is driving to church with Robert in his 2020 Ford F-150 Raptor and is pulling into the parking spot. Both him and his friend get out of the truck and start walking towards the church.
Zachary: I can't believe it's almost been a year since Coronavirus broke out. It felt like it was just yesterday.
Robert: Yea, it was just one heck of a year. A lot of bad things happened in 2020 that I never thought was going to happen. I thought this was gonna be a good start to the decade. Guess not.
Zachary: Yea, it sucks. But we can't dwell on the past. We have to move on.
Just as Zachary and Robert go in the front door, a white Chevrolet 2500 Express pulled up. Inside there was Hannah, who gave Zachary a dirty look and blew a raspberry at him.
Robert: What's her problem?
Zachary: *sighs* You remember when we went to that party the other night right?
Robert: Yes
Zachary: While you were getting snacks, she came up to me and said to "knock it off while flirting with girls." But I was like "bruh, I didn't even flirt with no one. You're just looking for an excuse to come after me." So I did the only thing that a logical human being would do.
Robert: And what was that?
Zachary: I severely roasted her and the look on her face when everyone heard about what was going on was funny. She got so mad that she just stormed off and everyone started laughing.
Robert: So why is she making faces at you now?
Zachary: I think she wants revenge. She wants me to suffer after merely embarrassing her. I mean it's not my fault she came up to me to stop me from doing something I never did. That pretty much fits the description of a scumbag.
When Zachary and Robert came into The Rock, everyone gave them highfives. Zachary went over to go say hi to Madison and Anna, but didn't know Hannah was watching.
Zachary: Hey Madison! How are you doing?
Madison: Fine. How about you?
Zachary: I'm doing good. How's senior year for ya?
Madison: Very stressful. I have a lot of work to do prepping for college, but other than that, I'm good. How does it feel being an upperclassman for the first time in your life?
Zachary: It's definitely very interesting. A lot more work than expected.
Madison: How so?
Zachary: Well, most of the time for me each day at home is my Dual Enrollment history homework. Gosh, I'll tell you something. There is a lot of note taking in that class and it's exhausting. However, most of my other classes are easy, so I have time for my homework then. So that leaves me plenty of time to do my job.
Madison: What job do you have?
Zachary: I'm a Youtuber.
Madison and Anna both were shocked that Zachary was a YouTuber. If he became famous, they would both know a celebrity. So Madison asked another question.
Madison: What content do you post on YouTube?
Zachary: Well, I have three different channels. I have one for Minecraft, one for Roblox, Forza Horizon 4, Mario Kart, and any other game that's not Minecraft, and one for IRL stuff. So basically mostly vlogs.
Madison: *with hesitation* How many subscribers do you have on those three channels?
Zachary: I have 400,000 subs on each channel.
Madison and Anna's jaws dropped when they heard Zachary had 400,000 subscribers on each of his three YouTube channels. They basically knew that he was making more money than both her and Anna combined at their jobs every day.
Anna: I can't believe someone like you would be a YouTuber. I thought only secular people could do it.
Zachary: Well, you're wrong on that. I had a dream about it a long time ago and said to myself "This is what I want to do in life." And before you ask, I felt like God called me to this. So that I can use YouTube for his glory. So I make videos every day and make more than six figures than most people.
Anna: How much do you make?
Zachary: I'm not going to tell you that. For one, that's just wrong to flex money and second, I don't want people knowing how much I make. If you want to, I'll tell you later, but both of you must promise me, no matter what the circumstance is, you won't tell anyone. No ifs, ands, or buts. Do you understand?
Madison: Yes
Anna: Yes
Just then, Hannah shows up and decides to take her chance at revenge. Unfortunately, she didn't know what was coming for her when she made the foolish decision to provoke Zachary when he did nothing wrong and just had a simple conversation with her supposed "two best friends."
Hannah: *speaking loudly to try and get everyone her undivided attention* Well, well, well, look who it is. The famous YouTuber who makes more than anyone else in this room and here he is flexing his money on the two people that I care about the most.
Zachary: Hannah, stop. I'm not flexing my money, first of all, second, I'm just having a conversation about high school over here, and third, you have no right to butt into conversations and to try and get everyone's attention to make me look bad.
Madison: He's right, Hannah. You should know better than to do something like that.
Hannah: *with frustration* Of course I have every right to butt in your conversation. I clearly saw you with my two eyes talking about how much better you are than everyone else.
Zachary: Are you high? You look like you're on drugs.
Hannah: NO I'M NOT HIGH! HOW DARE YOU SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
Zachary: You're salty bruh.
Hannah: Don't call me your "bruh."
Suddenly, everyone started laughing. Hannah was furious. She tried throwing more insults, but it made everyone laugh harder.
Hannah: HEY! THIS IS NOT FUNNY! I'M NOT MEANT TO BE HUMILIATED! I'M BETTER THAN YOU!
Zachary: *laughing* Well, I'm not the one who constantly is angry and jealous at someone because she got roasted at a party and tries to frame people just so she can boost her ego and make her parents proud.
Everyone continued laughing harder and harder. Finally, Hannah had enough. So she fired a verbal bullet that would kill and destroy the laughter in the room.
Hannah: At least I wasn't born with Autism.
Suddenly, the room stopped laughing. They stood in a state of shock. They couldn't believe that she would say something like that. Zachary was now furious and exploded like an erupting volcano.
Zachary: *With anger* What did you just say to me? Would you like to repeat that to the rest of the group here?
Hannah: I said at least I wasn't born with autism.
After Zachary heard those words, he immediately charged at her and pushed her into the wall like a defensive lineman. Hannah was starting to be consumed by dark crystal. She became very scared.
Zachary: *with really hot anger* HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT TO ME! DO YOU KNOW WHAT EFFECT THAT HAS ON ME? I DIDN'T CHOOSE TO BE AUSTISIC. I NEVER ASKED FOR ME TO HAVE AUTISM. YET, YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT? Oh wait, you would never understand something like that. You know why? Because YOU DON'T CARE JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN THIS WORLD! You want to know why I've had pain for years? Why I've had depression? Why I felt left out? It was all BECAUSE OF YOU! YOU'RE THE REASON I'VE HAD PAIN OVER THE YEARS! YOU'RE THE REASON FOR EVERYTHING THAT I BLAMED MYSELF FOR! I'VE HAD ENOUGH WITH YOU. I WILL SLAP YOU SO HARD IT WILL RIP THE CARPET IN HERE!
Zachary picked up Hannah and slammed her to the ground ripping up the carpet. Hannah was so terrified because she knew she had provoked the wrong person. Everyone stood in silence. Zachary looked at everyone, then opened a door that magically appeared and went through the door and left. Anna tried to say something, but Zachary took off before she could finish her sentence.
Zachary: *with remorse* I'm leaving. I don't deserve to be here. I deserve to be someplace better so I can be far away from this world. Sorry I had to disappoint you all.
Anna: Zachary wait!
*Zachary opens the magical door and closes it after going in it.*
Madison: Anna, we can't do anything right now except hope he will come back and forgive himself.
Anna: It pains me to see himself like that. Ever I've known him, he always struggled with depression. I wish I could have been for him more, but he had his life, and I have mine.
Zachary came on the other side of the magical door and came to another door. It led to Equestria. He knew that his pony friends could help him with his depression. But he didn't feel like telling them right now because he was filled with so much anger. He went through the door and came inside his castle. From there, he began to sob very loudly and started punching the wall as his mental health became very unstable.
Zachary: *crying* THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS! I LET EVERYONE DOWN AND IT'S MY FAULT! ARGGGHHHHH! *punches walls*
Meanwhile, Twilight was reading in the library when she heard a loud noise. She looked over and saw Zachary punching the wall. She was very sad to see someone she knew well as a friend suffer like this. So she went inside the castle and began comforting her friend.
Zachary: W-what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be doing princess duties?
Twilight: This is more important. You are in despair and you need help. Now tell me what is wrong.
Zachary: No one seems to understand how I feel about anything. Not even my own church understands how I feel. I just was having a simple conversation with some of my friends and then, one of the people I've had beef with over the past four years had to tear into me, so I tore into her. *gets box of tissues and blows his nose*
Twilight: Well, that's over now. I'm here for you. It's getting late here. You need to go to bed. I will discuss this with you in the morning.
Twilight teleported herself and her friend inside the bedroom and tucked him in. She felt bad for her friend and understood what he was saying. It seemed like he too had PTSD just like her and Spike. But she needed more evidence in order to say that. She put a bit of magic on him and kissed him on the head.
Twilight: Goodnight, my friend. I will make you feel better. Nothing will take the place of that.
Twilight went back to her castle and knocked on Luna's door. She opened the door and let her in.
Luna: Oh hi, Twilight. Come on in. *closes door* What can I do for you?
Twilight: It's my friend. He's come from the human world and is very sad and mentally unstable. I think he has PTSD, but I can't be sure until I have more evidence. Can we look inside his mind to see what his mind is thinking?
Luna: Sure we can. Although, do note that if he does have PTSD, I can't do anything about it. Okay?
Twilight: Okay. I knew that already though. I just need to help my friend. He was there for me when I was going through this, now I'm determined to help him.
Luna blasted magic to create a white line that would connect her horn with Zachary's head. They were teleported inside his mind and couldn't believe what they saw. Then, they saw one of his nightmares.
"You are nothing but weak. No one will ever believe in you. You will always be a failure."
"You think you're stronger than me? How about this? *shoves Zachary and immediately fell down*
*Lying in the hospital*
Luna paused the nightmare. Neither she or Twilight could believe what happened. He was always told he would never be great at anything and was physically abused. Twilight's eyes were filled with rage. She watched as someone she knew for a long time get thrown around like that. Luna noticed that Twilight was angry, but didn't say anything.
Twilight: *with anger* I can't believe that bully did something horrible like that. He deserves to be punished. I will make sure he riots in the Canterlot dungeons.
Luna: Calm down Twilight. Zachary probably doesn't even know where he is. We can't do anything about it.
Twilight: I just watched someone so mean hurt one of my friends in a way that could have killed him. Didn't you see him in the hospital? I'm going to do what I have to do in order to save my friend's health. From what I saw, he has PTSD.
Luna teleported herself and Twilight out of Zachary's mind. She and Luna both knew that Zachary had to get psychological therapy. They both went to sleep in their respective rooms. The next day, Zachary woke up with Twilight, Celestia, and Luna surrounding him.
Zachary: *waking up* Hmm? What the? What are you guys doing here?
Twilight: We are going to take you to the therapist because you might have signs of a certain disorder that I'm not going to say.
Zachary: Wait, it's PTSD, is it?
Twilight: I can't say for certain. Anyways, we are gonna teleport you to the train.
Twilight and the former rulers of Equestria teleported Zachary to the train station and carried him in. Everypony was concerned because one of Twilight's best friends was devastated emotionally. The train set forth to Canterlot where the psychological therapist was. Celestia and Luna went to a different car to leave Zachary and Twilight alone.
Zachary: Wait, isn't this the same train you were on when you had a mental breakdown?
Twilight: It is. After I returned home, it pretty much became a train who needed privacy from the general public and most of the passengers needed medical attention.
Zachary: You didn't have to do this for me, Twilight. I don't remember anyone or anypony doing something this nice for me.
Twilight: I had to do it. You were there for me when I suffered a mental breakdown. I had to do the same for you. Nothing pains me more than to see you suffer like the way you did in your dreams.
Zachary: Wait, you were in my dreams last night?
Twilight: Yes, both me and Luna saw what had happened to you and was heartbreaking. I do admit I was filled with fury when I saw you go down and end up in the hospital.
Zachary: So you know everything now? Ok, I'll tell you the story. It's about time you know. You see, when I was young well, very young to be exact, I decided to break the pencil sharpener by putting the eraser in the place where the pencil is sharpened. I was no longer allowed to use the pencil sharpener for the rest of the year, and that bully you saw in my dreams, that was Ben Cohen. He felt bad for me, but I was so angry I turned my back on him. From then on, he bullied me. The worst of them all is one day in 7th grade Geography, where before class started, me and this other kid named Aden Bargeaon Cary played a trick on me and took my computer away from me. He gave it to Ben and I tried to get it back. But for some reason, he thought I was trying to be stronger than him. That was before my powers grew to the fullest. Anyways, he shoved me into the smartboard and caused me to fall down. I was screaming in pain. My ankle was hurting bad. The teacher came in and saw I couldn't move. He called 911 and I was transported to the hospital. It turns out I just had an ACL tear, but I never really recovered after that. Anytime I felt pain that hurt really bad, it gave me flashbacks of what happened on that day.
Twilight: I see. That clearly sounds like PTSD. Don't worry. We are gonna give you the help you need. I'm sorry that had to happen to you.
Zachary: Don't feel sorry for me. I never even deserved to be treated this way, but you're doing it for me anyways. I guess that's what the definition of friendship is.
Twilight: You would be correct. And you shouldn't feel bad for me doing this for you. You were there for me when I had this problem. So it's my determination to help you like you helped me on that day.
Zachary: Thanks for always being there for me when I needed it.
Twilight: No problem. That is my duty as the Princess of Friendship.
The train arrived in Canterlot after 30 minutes. Twilight used her magic to take Zachary all the way to the psychological therapist. There, he along with the others waited outside the hospital to be treated.
Zachary: Hospitals always make me nervous. Yet being here isn't really that bad.
Twilight: I'm sure everything will be fine. These two ponies know exactly what they're doing.
Zachary: I hope you're right.
Just then, Gentle Gust walked out of the office and signaled Zachary to come in. He then said for Twilight, Celestia, and Luna to wait outside until he said for them to come in.
Gentle Gust: Hello Zachary. How are you doing?
Zachary: I'm doing fine. I guess. I remember when I was here with Twilight several months ago.
Gentle Gust: Yes, and thanks to you, Twilight is doing much better. But anyways, tell me what's bothering you.
Zachary: *sighing* Well, I've had major trouble in the past. I've been bullied for most of my life and just recently I got mad at someone because it reminded me of that disastrous day.
Gentle Gust: What happened?
Zachary: I fell down, and tore my ACL because a bully pushed me down.
All of a sudden, Zachary felt tears forming. He began to feel embarrassed, but then, he fell down again and screamed in pain suddenly turning unconscious. Twilight, Celestia, and Luna came rushing in wondering what happened to their friend.
Zachary: *struggling to hold the tears back* I just don't understand why this had to happen. I CAN'T STAND IT! *falls over and screams in pain*
Twilight comes rushing in following Celestia and Luna.
Twilight: ZACHARY! What happened?!
Zachary: My leg hurts *falls unconscious*
After Zachary fell unconscious, he was transported to the ICU. He laid there for about 2 hours. Gentle Breeze and Gentle Gust looked inside his mind on what happened and took an X-ray on what happened after he collapsed.
Twilight: How is he? What happened to him?
Gentle Gust: Well, from what we've seen it turns out when he collapsed, he tore his ACL. I think he definitely has PTSD.
Twilight: *sadly* What? How so?
Gentle Gust: He had a panic attack and how his brain is wired, whenever his brain overworks and stresses out, it responds with tearing one of his parts of his body.
Twilight began to cry because she had one of her best friends who had been there for him during that time period she was going through, was experiencing the same thing. Celestia and Luna couldn't hold back the tears either.
Twilight: Can I at least go in and see him?
Gentle Gust: Yes, you can. In fact, since he was one of your best friends and helped you through this crisis, you can stay overnight.
Twilight: Thank you Gentle Gust.
Twilight went inside the ICU room and sat in the chair next to the bed he was sleeping in. He began forming tears and started to cry burying her head into the bed where his arms were.
Twilight: *crying* I'm sorry. This never should have happened to you. You were always there for me and I will always be there for you. No matter what happens, we will get through this together. Nothing will ever change that. *saying loudly* WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN TO HIM?!* *cries more and buries her head into his arms.
The next day, the hospital people had to take Zachary away to do surgery on his ACL. Just then, Twilight's friends came rushing into the hospital wondering where their friend has been and what happened.
Twilight: *turns around* Girls! What are you doing here?
Applejack: For our friend of course. We were worried sick about ya, sugarcube.
Rainbow Dash: Yea, Twilight. Where were you all this time?
Twilight: *sighing* One of my best friends just had a terrible mental breakdown. He was just taken away for surgery on his ACL.
Rarity: What is an ACL?
Twilight: It stands for anterior cruciate ligament. It's a part of the human knee. It's one of four ligaments in a human.
Rainbow Dash: How did you figure that out?
Twilight: Zachary told me about it when we were on the train here.
Fluttershy: So why are you here?
Twilight: Well, he's the one getting surgery right now. It pains me seeing him like that.
Rarity: Oh poor thing. How did he tear his ACL?
Twilight: He had a panic attack and his brain decided to tear his ACL.
Rainbow Dash: How does that happen?
Twilight: Well, according to Gentle Gust, because of how his brain is wired, when his brain is stressed out, it sends a signal to break something in his body.
Applejack: Oof, that sounds really bad.
Twilight: It does. He's done so much for me and the rest of Equestria. He's practically adored here. I can't stand seeing him suffer like this.
Celestia: We all feel that way Twilight. He will get better. It might not seem like it now, but he will come through.
Applejack: How did this all happen in the first place?
Twilight: It's a long story….
Twilight explained to her friends what had happened. Their hearts sank and couldn't believe what they heard. The person that was adored by everypony was suffering so horrible.
Applejack: Wow. That is really heartbreaking.
Fluttershy: I can't imagine what he's feeling right now.
Rarity: Someone like him should never go through something like that.
Rainbow Dash: Seriously. That is not cool. I swear, if I ever saw him, I'd kick his butt so hard he would be breakfast in two seconds.
Pinkie Pie: That's no fun. That makes me so sad. I wish I had ice cream on me. This now sounds like a pity party.
Just then, Zachary came out of the surgery room and was placed into another room. Twilight, all her friends, along with Celestia and Luna, followed in.
Twilight: How is he doctor? Can I go in?
Gentle Gust: Yes, you all can go in. But you need to be quiet. He just came out of surgery and is sleeping. Any loud noises may cause a disturbance in his brain.
Twilight: Will do Gentle Gust. Girls, we must be quiet. We can't disturb him at all. After all he's done for us and Equestria, the least we can do for him is give him peace and quiet. So does everypony understand?
Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash: Yes.
Twilight: Ok, let's go in.
Zachary was sleeping in his hospital bed with an IV on his hands. Everypony came in and sat all around him. Twilight sat right next to him.
Twilight: Hey. It's me Twilight. You made it through surgery. I hope you know just how much I care about you and how much we appreciate you being around. You will always be my hero to me. *starts crying and buries her head into his arms*
Everypony else starts crying softly for their friend. 5 hours passed and then he finally was awake. He was shocked that all his pony friends were there. They all gave him a hug.
Zachary: *waking up* H-hmm? W-wh-what happened?
Twilight: You're awake! Welcome back my friend.
All of them give their friend a hug.
Zachary: Thanks. It's great actually being part of a family that appreciates who I am as a person.
Twilight: Of course. We care very much about you. You never abandoned us. You stuck by our side when we needed you most. You will always be part of our family.
Applejack: She's right, sugarcube. You helped me realize that doing the same old thing will never help.
Fluttershy: You always told me that I never got out of my shell, no one would understand who I was as a pony.
Pinkie Pie: You told me that even when there are times of sadness, there is always hope somewhere in the world.
Rarity: You said to me that even though ponies have said that fashion is the only thing I cared about, you said that I was always generous.
Rainbow Dash: Yea, when I felt like giving up and going somewhere else, you told me to stay loyal to my friends and to never abandon them.
Twilight: What all of us are trying to say is when each of us have faced a tough situation, you always encouraged us and were there for us.
Zachary: I don't understand. Why would you tell me this?
Twilight: Because even though you might have faith in yourself, we do.
Zachary: I don't really deserve it anyways. I don't know if I can forgive myself for what I did before I came here.
Twilight: What did you do?
Zachary: *sighs* someone got mad at me because I roasted them at a party earlier this week. So they fired an insult at me saying "At least I wasn't born with Autism." It gave me flashbacks to that disastrous day where I was told I would never be great. So I got super angry and yelled at them, then picked them up and threw them to the ground ripping the carpet in the process.
Rainbow Dash: Ouch.
Zachary: I know. I can never forgive myself for that. I will always regret that. *puts his head down*
Twilight: *draping a wing over Zachary* Listen, we all make mistakes. But we shouldn't focus on that. It will bring us down and will make us sad forever. I have done things before that I've deeply regretted, but I moved on from it. We can't change our past, but we can change our future by mending the relationship through forgiveness.
Zachary: Thanks, I needed that. You always will be a good friend to me.
Twilight: *jumping up and hugging him* You will always be in my heart.
Twilight had jumped up from her chair and gave Zachary a hug in his arms. Everypony else felt happy for them. Even Celestia herself was happy for her former student. Everypony gave the two doctors their undivided attention for Zachary's diagnosis.
Gentle Gust: After a series of tests, we have concluded that Zachary indeed has PTSD.
Zachary: *sighing and putting his head down* I figured that. *sighs again* How can I get over this condition?
Gentle Breeze: Well, you need a lot of support from family and friends.
Twilight: Well, we got plenty of that.
Everypony gives Zachary a hug and makes Zachary feel better. He suddenly knew what he had to do. He had to go forgive Hannah. But the doctors had something else to say before he got a chance to leave.
Gentle Gust: We also saw that Zachary has Autism Spectrum Disorder or ASD for short.
Twilight: What is that?
Gentle Gust: ASD is a serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact. It also impacts the nervous system.
Twilight: How bad is it?
Gentle Gust: The symptoms can vary. The most common ones are difficulty with communication, difficulty with social interactions, obsessive interests, and repetitive behaviors.
Twilight: How come he never told us this?
Zachary: Because If I told you, you would treat me differently like people on Earth.
Twilight: Why would we treat you any differently? You are our friend no matter what happens. It doesn't matter if you have a disability or not. You're still the same person inside. Nothing will change that.
Zachary: The problem is with autism, I think differently, I'm socially awkward, I see things in black and white, I don't get some sarcasm, and I take everything literal.
Twilight: It doesn't matter. You are still the same person on the inside. Who cares if you have a disability? You still are the great person you are today. Don't ever let anyone or anypony tell you that. Because that's not who you are.
Zachary: Thanks, Twilight. You always seem to know who I am better than I do.
Twilight: It's what my duty of being the Princess of Friendship is. To make people or ponies make them feel like they belong.
After Zachary got out of the hospital, he and the other ponies went on the train back to Ponyville. There they all went inside his castle and he had to say goodbye once more.
Zachary: Well, it looks like I have to go.
Twilight: Do you have to?
Zachary: Yes, I have friends back home that need me and I need to forgive someone after what I did to them. *sighs* It's going to be hard doing this.
Twilight: Don't beat yourself down on this. Actually enjoy life. We as alicorns might be around forever, but humans sure aren't. So enjoy it while it lasts.
Zachary: Thanks again, Twilight. You are the one pony that encourages me when I feel down.
Twilight: You always did it for us, so we are simply giving it back to you.
Zachary: I'll miss you, but I'll be back sometime before I graduate high school.
Twilight: *jumps up yet again and gives Zachary a hug* I'll miss you too. Don't be gone too long.
Zachary: I promise.
The rest of the ponies gave him a hug before he finally opened his magical door to leave Equestria and to go back to Earth.
Zachary: I'll see you guys later. *opens magical door back to Earth and closes the door*
Zachary: ok, time to go back to Earth. Whew, what an adventure I had. *opens door back to Earth*
Zachary: *sighs in relief* Home sweet home*
Zachary came out of the magical door and there everyone was standing in the same position when he left. Anna was the first to say something to Zachary.
Anna: Zachary, your back. We were worried sick about you.
