Remus walked over to the stone steps. He felt numb, distant from the world around him. The only thing that was constant was that voice, that voice that laid as the constant reminder he was still there. His voice, inside his head, "you are dangerous", "look what happens to the people around you" "how have you let this happen again". "How could I, I must be the monster people think" he said to himself. Every step he took, the weight of the night began to consume him. As he came to the final three steps outside the castle, away from the people he left in the great hall, whose voices where tailing him before closing the door, he sat down. He didn't know what to do, he didn't know how to fix it. He closed his eye and dug the palm of hands into his sockets and then upping them to his forehead, compressing the pains of the thoughts. Pushing his fingernails into his hairline as he did. Remus tried to concentrate on his breathing, drowning out the world around him.
"It's not your fault you know".
Remus felt looked up. "Luna, what are you doing out here? You need to go to the hospital wing, I told you that you are lucky it only appears to be a concussion but you still need to be monitored". "it's not your fault, you couldn't have stopped what happened, and I know you want to be alone right now and you won't say it but don't stay away from everyone we want you with us". "Luna I'm fine I just needed some fresh air". "It's okay if you don't want to talk about it, but don't cut yourself of from the people who love you, even if at this moment you want to, do it for them, you have more people who care for you than you know ". She swept over to Remus and softly kissed the side of his cheek before proceeding up the stone steps and disappearing into the castle.
