"Luce."
"Mm."
"Lucy."
"Uh-huh."
"Lucy, what's wrong?"
"..Nothing."
"Oh, don't give me that."
The blonde finally looked up from her phone and peered up past her bangs at her boyfriend. With a raised eyebrow and his arms folded, Natsu looked down at her worriedly. "What's bugging you?" He placed his hands on her shoulders. "Please don't lie to me."
Lucy heart skipped a beat, and she bit her lip. She didn't want to admit she was a little jealous. They were on vacation with their friends, and had been enjoying a day spent at the new amusement park, FiorePark. Their group had split into two and enjoyed the park in divided groups throughout the entire day, but finally reunited at Sabertooth mountain, a roller coaster they were currently waiting in line in for. Just minutes ago, when they had finally met up with their friends, Lisanna had tackled Natsu exclaiming, "Natsu! Ride the Celestial shuttles with me after this!"
Lucy knew she had no reason to be jealous. After all, the two were childhood best friends. And she could tell that Natsu had missed Lisanna's company the whole day. It was impossible to get between the two's sibling-best friend relationship. She didn't really have a problem with it. After all, she trusted him and he was already her's anyways. But the whole day Natsu had been riding every ride with her and regardless, she already knew she would miss his company even if it was only for a bit.
She knew she was being petty, but she couldn't help it. Lucy met his eyes and gave him a tired smile. "I'm just tired. Don't worry about it too much."
Natsu gave her a sad look. He reached into his pocket to check his phone. "Oh shit, I didn't even realize it was already midnight." He looked at her again and gave her a worried expression. "Do your feet hurt? We've been walking all day. I can carry you." Lucy let out a small laugh and shook her head. "I'm okay, Natsu. Thank you."
He rubbed the back of his neck and met her eyes for a couple of seconds, looking for any signs of a lie. Finally, he broke into a dejected smile. "Come here, you."
"Wha-" He grabbed her wrist, gently but swiftly, and pulled her into his chest, wrapping his arms around her waist. His fingers intertwined against her lower back, and he buried his head into the crook of her neck. She was a bit taken back, but she soon softened into his closeness and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling herself into his hug. Her heart skipped a beat as he held her tight.
She smiled, feeling a little guilty. "We're in line, you know."
"I do know."
"You usually hate being close in public."
"Uh-huh, but you're feeling down. It's an exception."
She had to admit that his tenderness was giving her butterflies. "You don't have to force yourself."
Natsu pulled back slightly and gave her a stern look. "I'm not forcing myself, Luce." He grinned and pulled her hips even closer to his, causing her to lean her back in order to talk to him. "I'm here for you. I want to make you feel better."
The pink haired teen shot quick glances around. The couple were the furthest back in the line within their friend group. The wait area wove through inside the mountain, so the lights were dim. Lucy tilted her head, confused. "Hmm?"
Natsu looked back at her and shot her a devilish smile before swiftly leaning in. Lucy quickly shut her eyes as she felt his lips meet hers. As quickly as it had been initiated, the kiss was surprisingly slow. Which wasn't like Natsu, who had a tendency to do things fast and strong. They were sweet, unhurried kisses. She felt her heart thump in her chest as he kept their hips tight together as he kissed her gently. But just as quickly as he had leaned in, he broke the kiss, pulling away. The two diverted their eyes from one another and glanced at their friends discreetly.
The group was laughing, their backs facing towards them. "Doesn't look like they saw." Lucy thought. "That's good. Natsu gets embarrassed easily with this kind of stuff. Especially with Gray around."
She felt a firm arm wrap around her waist again. Her heart skipped another beat. She already knew it was Natsu. He stood close to her, his arm hidden behind her back, but still pulling her close to him. She couldn't help but smile. The line moved forward and the two walked up together.
She didn't get why he affected her so much. They had been close friends long before they had feelings for each other, and they had been a couple for a long time already, but regardless, every little thing he did made her heart flutter.
She didn't think too much of it though. She knew she had the same impact on him as he did her, and as long as he loved her that was enough. Smiling contently, she leaned into him and rested her head on his chest. She felt him lean down and plant a kiss gingerly on the top of her head, and she shut her eyes, satisfied.
A/N: Hii just something short, quick, and fluffy. I'm sorry if it seemed rushed. I'm actually kind of satisfied with how this turned out. I actually don't hate any part of this, though I do keep coming back and editing little bits and pieces haha oopsies.
I know it may seem a little cheesy. This is based off a little somethin' that happened to me a little more than a month ago haha. Sorry to be that person. Don't worry, he broke up with me. I'm over him though and I just thought this would be a cute one-shot. Also adding it in the bio acts as click-bait teehee. Have a good dayy
