It was no words needed. Wallace opened his door and just gave her a long hug. It was one of those hugs that people only gave when they had been worried for a long time. "I called you!" He said and she nodded. "Yeah, kind of turned my phone of, and then I slept for...well until just now. Thanks for taking dad home!" Veronica said. "I am pretty sure he would have walked if I hadn't. He really wanted to get out of that hospital!" "Who can blame him!" Veronica said as they sat down. "He seemed fine actually!" Wallace said and Veronica nodded. "Yeah, we kind of just had a fight, so he is getting better!" "A fight? About what, did you trash his place with a wild party?" Wallace said with a smile. "No, but he seems to want me to go!" Veronica said. "Oh, you mean back home already?" Wallace said and was stunned by the mad look he got back. "Back home? So everyone thinks I have this fantastic life now and should just go back to it?" She said. "Well, don't you?" Wallace asked. "Not sure, maybe..maybe not… does it matter? It's not where I want to be!" Wallace drank some coffee to get time to figure out what to say.
"I guess I just thought you were happy and content, besides you know your dad isn't an complete outcast, I see him all the time, the man is a great babysitter by the way! And then there is Bradly!" Veronica looked up. "Yeah, dad mentioned him too, has everyone got it in their heads that we are anything other than friends and coworkers?" She asked. "Hell yeah! I actually think you are the only one who doesn't know the status on that! He is crazy about you!" Wallace said. "You met him twice!" Wallace nodded. "All it takes girl… all it takes! So you are not in to him at all?" Veronica thought about it. "No!" She just said and that seemed to confuse Wallace. "Have you two spoken about it?" "No!" Veronicas short answers told Wallace that she actually had completely missed the fact that this nice looking lawyer was head over heels for her.
"Oh Wallace… my best friend, he is truly the brother I never had. We met his first day of Neptune high and he instantly knew we would be friends, why? Well, Wallace got himself into a...sticky situation. He was taped to the flagpole with the word "Snitch" written over his chest and this is Neptune. Everyone stayed cleared of him, because we had the rich people and we had the really bad ones and it was that second category that taped him up there. He had ratted out two members of the PCH bikeclub and they made sure we would get the message, but then I cut him down and who knew that this would be the day I would cross the very two people I still trust. Wallace Fennel and Eli "Weevil" Navarro. Now Wallace did a lot for me, he was my best wingman when it came to favours and he usually never asked. But he had a limit, so at times he did ask...and at times I told him. "
