Prologue
"So,you want us to celebrate your birthday?"Yui asked shyly while he looked on.
Hachiman thought he would reject it outright as reflex.
Even his own parents didn't celebrate his birthday or acknowledged it although Komachi would give him a postcard.
He had no friends to speak of and was convinced that it's just another lie people would indulge themselves to show off their popularity in some sort of sick game.
And yet...he wanted to
"S-sure...if it's all right with you"
Yui's eyes lit up for she had expected him to put up some resistance to the idea.
"H-hikki!"
Both looked at each other awkwardly before someone else broke their silence.
"Yui!"
Miura called her out while standing in the distance.
She was being considerate by letting her friend talk to someone she was only acquainted with while waiting and looking up on her phone.
"It's tomorrow right. How about we text each other about the plans?"
Yui said and Hachiman had no reason to disagree.
"Okay then. You better not keep your friend waiting."
With that they parted ways.
Being during summer vacations his classmates didn't even kniw about his birthday.
Now he started having doubts about situation he found himself into.
He shook his head for now was not the time to think about it.
For now,Komachi seemed to be the only person he could talk about about planning a party.
