Weeks later…

"Can you believe we're going to head back to DC in a couple of weeks?" Reid asked Élise as he was packing up the last of their items.

"I can," Élise said, fiercely rubbing her 18-week belly.

"And I can't believe my little humans are growing inside her beautiful belly," Reid replies as he began to rub her belly. Getting closer to her stomach, "Hi there, little ones. It's daddy, again. And you two are about the sizes of artichokes."

"How cute!" Élise gave him a peck. "Calling the babies artichokes."

"I am, huh?" Turning around to see Anastasia with her weighted teddy bear. "Hey, princess. Are you ready to go back to DC?"

"Yeah!" Anastasia cried.

"Are you ready to see the new house in DC?"

"Yes!" She began jumping up and down.

"Do you want to feel my belly?" Élise points to her stomach.

"Uh-huh." As she felt her belly. "Oh."

"What happened?" Reid curiously asked.

"I felt something," Anastasia whispered.

As Reid and Élise playfully gasped to each other, "That means you felt a kick."

"Did it scare you?"

"A little bit."

"I can't believe you all are leaving," Alex said as she hugged Élise.

"You can always come and visit us in DC," Élise suggested.

"We will," James said. "Perhaps we can see everyone else again."

"That would be great." Alex said as she went to hug Reid and whispered in his ear, "Maeve would be so happy for you."

Reid looked at Élise and Anastasia with James. "Yeah."

Élise placed down Anastasia, "Want to give Alex a hug before we leave?"

"Buh-bye, Lexi." Anastasia wobblily runs over to Alex's open arms, who was more than happy to accept a hug from her.

"Bye-bye, little one." Blake softly said before letting out and Reid picks her up.

"Well, we better get going," Élise said as she stood by the passenger's side. "We have a long drive back to DC."

After strapping Anastasia in her car seat, "Come and visit us at our new abode!"

"We will." Alex and James said, waving to them as they drove off. "Bye!"

"Goodbye!"

A week later…

"Well, that's the last of it," Reid said as he was getting ready for bed. "We're finally got everything in place. Anastasi should be sleeping now."

"I hope she's liking her new room," Élise said as she closed her pregnancy book.

"Her new purple room you mean," Reid said. "Did you know purple has many meanings: wealth, wisdom, creativity, imagination, the future and dreams?"

"It was also associated with royalty and nobility going back to ancient times, especially in Europe." Élise sighed before continuing, "I also read purple was one of her late mother's favorite colors."

"Yeah."

"When do you want to tell her about her mother? And four brothers? And the rest of her biological family?"

"When she's older. Perhaps in a few years."

"I think we should build up the word adoption in her vocabulary or at least…"

"I know." Reid figured before suggesting, "We can talk about it regularly."

"I think that would be a great idea. Tomorrow, I can even lookup…"

"Mama? Daddy?"

Anastasia entered their bedroom with her weighted teddy bear.

"Hey there, you." Reid waved before motioning her to come over to the bedside. "What's wrong?"

"I want to sleep with you."

"You do, little one?" Élise asked before turning to Reid. "Well?"

"Okay." But before Anastasia could cheer. "But only one night."

"Yay!" Anastasia jumps into their bed.

"Oh," Reid playfully exclaims. "You really are getting big, huh?"

"Teddy wants to sleep with us, too."

Élise runs her fingers through Anastasia's hair, "Of course, it would be a proper sleepover without Teddy."

"Are you settled in?"

"Mm-hmm." Kissing her head. "Say goodnight to the babies."

Rubbing Élise's belly, "Night, babies."

"They wish you good night, little one." Élise pats Anastasia's head before kissing it. "Good night."

KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK!

"Coming!" Reid cried as he opened the door and it was,

"Rossi?"

"Hey there, neighbor," Rossi said with Krystall by his side.

"Well, come on in." Reid motions Rossi and Krystall into the new house.

"My-my," Krystall said as she and Rossi entered the foyer before entering the formal living room. "What a place you got here."

"Thank you." Reid said before asking Rossi, "What's in the container?"

"My world-famous spaghetti alla carbonara."

Before Reid or anyone else could say anything,

"Oh, is it me or do I smell Rossi's spaghetti alla carbonara?" Élise asked as she descended down the stairs, carrying Anastasia. "Spencer, babe…" Her eyes widen at the sight of,

"Rossi." Élise awkwardly waved and smiled. "Hey there, Krystall."

"Élise…" An almost speechless Rossi said. "You're…"

"Pregnant." Krystall completed his sentence.

"And married." Élise proudly announced. "Five months."

Rossi raised his eyebrows. "Five months?"

Élise shows off her wedding ring. "We put a ring on it."

"Really?" Rossi sounded intrigued before he kissed Reid's, Élise's, and even Anastasia's cheeks. Proudly smiling as he pulls everyone into a giant hug, "Well, then. Congratulations." Whispering to himself, "Took you both long enough."

"What?"

"Nothing. Congrats."

"I'm glad you two agreed to have lunch with us," Élise said before taking a big bite of carbonara.

"What are neighbors for?" Rossi replies, "At least you had a good reason to disappear for sixth months."

"I had more than enough reasons." Reid retorts. "Some reasons I'd rather not talk about."

"Fair enough." Rossi respected that.

Krystall asked. "So…what did you three do?"

"After your wedding, we went on a road trip to New York City and stayed at the Downtown Four Seasons for a few days."

"Oh là là." Krystall coyly said. "You all went sightseeing?"

"Yeah-yeah. After that, we headed over to Boston for the remainder of our time."

Reid continued as he wiped pasta sauce from Anastasia's mouth. "Yeah. We…even saw Alex Blake and her husband again."

"You did?" Rossi was a bit surprised.

"We did and don't worry; we said 'Hi' for you."

"What did you do in Boston?" Krystall asked.

"Harvard and MIT gave me a class to teach and helped worked on some research projects."

"They must have paid you handsomely."

"$100,000," Reid answered. "We'll be using it for educational purposes."

"Knowing you, they'll be having scholarships and getting degrees by the time they're teenagers."

"But enough about us," Reid insisted. "How've you been?"

"Hanging in there, especially with…"

"Yeah," Élise knows the entire story. "Look, David. It's doesn't matter how many battles the Chameleon has won; in the end, it's all about winning the big war."

Rossi smirks. "Thanks for the boost talk."

Georgetown University Hospital

An average-height woman with brown hair, green eyes, dressed in green scrubs walks into the room. "Hello, I'm Dr. Ginger Foster."

"Pleasure to meet you, doc." Élise shook her hand.

As Reid had Anastasia on his lap, "So, what's the progress?"

Looking at her charts before, "The pregnancy's going quite well; you're now officially halfway through, even though twins have the tendency to come earlier. You are eating right?"

"Yes, doc." Élise nods her head as she was laying down near an ultrasound machine for an examination. "I'm eating my daily nutrients and vitamins."

"Despite the junk food cravings." Reid jokily added.

"Ha-ha," Élise sarcastically said. "How are the babies?"

"Let's take a look," Dr. Foster said as she's preparing the ultrasound. "Almost…ah! Here we go."

"Oh, my…" An almost speechless Élise said. "Look at them. But they're covering their gorgeous faces."

"But they are happy to be in their wombs. And soon enough, they'll be looking like their mommy and daddy as their hair, nails, and eyebrows continue to grow and grow."

"See, sweetheart," Reid said to Anastasia, "Look at the babies; they are now the size of a banana."

"They don't look like 'nanas." Anastasia innocently said.

Dr. Foster chuckles, "No, they don't, but their sensory is really boosting."

"By now, their brains should be marking for taste, smell, vision, hearing."

"Why, yes, they should be hearing you better by now."

"Hi, babies!" Anastasia cried to Élise's belly.

"Oh," Élise grabs ahold of her belly. "They're kicking. I guess they must be getting their exercising, huh?"

….

"Hey, Élise," Reid said as he pressed his cell phone to his ear and was in the privacy of a bathroom.

"Hey, you," Élise answers back. "How was your first day back at work?"

"Everyone greeted me back in open arms; it was almost like I never even left."

Élise almost dreaded asking this, but she needed to, "How are things between you and…JJ?"

"Still awkward." Reid truthfully answered.

"Well, you haven't talked to each other in six months. Especially not since…"

"I know." Élise figured. "But still…"

"I think focusing on the case first would be good for us. And then, perhaps…"

"You two can talk about it. I get it. I better get going; your girl's about to wake up from her nap and I'm about to make me a salad."

"Make sure you don't eat it all that you did with Rossi's carbonara." Reid jokily said.

"Aren't you cute?" Élise smirky replied. "Of course; I've been waiting up for you, anyway."

"Thanks." Whispering, "Love you."

Élise lightly chuckles, "Love you, too."

"Hey, Rossi," Reid said as he peeked his head through Rossi's office.

Noticing Reid, "Hey, Reid." Rossi motions Reid to have a seat. "What's on your mind, lately?"

"I have so much on my mind."

"Is it the pregnancy?"

"Yeah." Rossi was half-right. "I'm just so scared."

"Why?" Rossi wondered. "I mean, you're already a great father to Anastasia."

"I know but still, I…I just…I can't help but be scared that…"

"Spencer," Rossi cleared his throat before continuing, "I told you about my second ex-wife, Hayden Montgomery, right?"

"Yes."

"Well…after we divorced, I didn't know that I impregnated her with Joy and…she never told me"

"Did she have her reasons why?"

"Not until after the year I found out about Joy, the reason she never told me is because of the demands with the job. I made it clear to her that the job came first, and she wondered where would that leave Joy."

"You missed your chance to be a father." Reid realized.

"Yeah. You're an amazing father to Anastasia; her mother, four brothers, and the rest of the family would be extremely proud of you. You're going to be an amazing father to your baby."

Leaning in closer, "Between you, Élise, and myself, we're having twins."

"Twins?" Rossi's jaw almost dropped.

"Hmm-mmm."

"My lips are sealed."

"Thanks, Rossi." Reid got up and immediately hugged him.

"Anytime, kid." Rossi softly said. "Maeve would be so happy for you."

"I think she is." Reid almost had a tear in his eye.

"Hey, Spencer." Élise rushes into the waiting room with Anastasia in her arms and Will, Henry, and Michael. "Spencer."

"What happened?" Will whispered in Reid's ear.

"Gunshot to the abdomen, under her left arm. Her heart stopped at one time."

"Oh, man." Will groaned as he took a seat. "My god…"

"Uncle Spencer!" Henry and Michael rush to hug him.

"Hey there, boys."

As Henry pulls away, "We missed you."

"I missed you too, buddies." Reid playfully messes with his hair. "It's complicated."

As Reid just left JJ's hospital room to take a phone call, Élise needed just a few more minutes to clear and ease her mind. And when she finally did,

"Hey there, you." She plasters a smile on her face.

JJ weakly smiles back, "Hey."

"I heard Spencer saved you."

"He did. And I can see you're pregnant."

"Five months." Élise rubs her belly.

"Congrats."

"Thank you." Élise sets the small flower bouquet. "How are you feeling?"

"Hanging in there."

"Well, that's good. Because now…I don't whether I want to do first."

"Do what first?" JJ asked.

"Hug you. Or hit you?" Élise quietly seethed.

"Élise…"

"I overheard what you said to Spencer." Élise was still gently boiling on the inside. "So you really do love him? So much so that he was your first love. And that you'll always love him."

"Élise…"

"You're about to make me unleash my inner West Indies. And I'm pregnant. Not a good combination at the moment." Élise whispered the last sentence.

"It's not like that." JJ tries to explain. "It's just complicated."

"Uh-huh." Élise sounded doubtful. "It must have been so complicated that Reid took a sabbatical for six months because he wondered if you actually meant it. And clearly, you do. Remember what I told you six months ago. On second thought, I'll refresh your memory. You do anything to hurt Will, your sons, and/or Spencer, God, Mary, Jesus help me, you dare come between my marriage with Spencer," Élise shows off her wedding ring. "I will come after you so hard, you won't even see me coming; you'll just might even be gone. Hell, I might even destroy you. You can't have it both ways. Sad but true. And like I told you, you're not the only one whose been in a warzone. And I do mean that in the nicest way."

"Mommy!" Henry and Michael dash into the room.

"Hey, boys."

"Hello again, William," Élise said to him as he walked in with a big bouquet. "You and the boys take such good care of her as you always do, okay?" She flashes a toothy smile before leaving.

"Are you okay, baby?" Reid asked Élise as she was intensely rubbing her belly.

"I'm okay," Élise answered. "I…had some words with JJ."

"You did?"

Taking a deep breath, "I…overheard you two and…"

"Élise, listen to me…" Reid tries to explain.

"I know." Élise takes Reid's hands. "Like you, I'm not going to let anyone; not the universe, not religion, not even JJ, come between us. Because God, Mary, Jesus, help her…"

"I won't let her, either, okay?" Reid passionately kisses Élise on the lips.

"I know you won't." Élise passionately kisses Reid back. Taking Anastasia's hand again, "Are you ready to see Grandma?"

"Yeah!" Anastasia cried.

"Well, that's good," Reid replies. "Wait until she sees her granddaughter and daughter-in-law…"

"Spencer!"

An ecstatically happy Diana Reid rushes to hug Reid.

"Mom!" Spencer immediately hugs her back.

Following her,

"My beautiful daughter-in-law," She immediately hugs her before noticing, "Who is pregnant!"

"Twins."

Squealing, "Oh, such wonderful news! I'm getting two more grandchildren!" Kneeling down before putting up Anastasia, "My adorable granddaughter!" Kissing her face. "How have you been?"

"Good."

"I think it's great that your mother's been having great days," Élise said as they watch Diana playing with Anastasia and showing her off to the other patients.

"I wish that can last forever." Reid sadly replies.

"I know." Élise placed her hand on his shoulder. "And I understand. Why do you think that was part of the reason why I wanted to make up with my family after so many years of estrangement?"

"Really?"

"Yup. You know when I saw Garcia hug it out and…make up with her brother last year. Or least work out their relationship. When I saw them hug, I…called my parents and…when they answered…I didn't know what to say, so I just hung up."

"You okay?" Reid asked again as Élise was still silent, "If you don't want to talk about, that's okay. But like I said, if you want to, you don't have to tell me everything."

After Élise releases a deep breath. "It was sometime after I won the NJ lottery. The money wasn't the issue. It was…me finally moving out. I wanted to be out there on my own for the first time I've felt in my life. And my mom and I…got into it. When I was growing up, it was always hard for me to stand up to anything, really. But with my mother, I…anyway. We…we really got into it. And…growing up, I just always felt my mother putting me down and…calling me names and…I just let it build it all in…and let it fester." Tears running down and her voice started to crack. "During the argument, I…I called her an overly religious hypocritical bitch and…she slapped me. Really hard. Then she started to hit me and…I just lost it. I hit her back and we started to fight. My brother and dad had walked in on us and…I kicked her…twice…when she was down. I never did that before. I ran out. I didn't know what to do…"

Reid whispered, "You didn't kill your mother, Élise."

"I know the feeling of wanting to," Élise replies back. "You're extraordinarily lucky that you have a mother who never made you feel any less or like a freak."

"Before my prison stint and Anastasia, I…brought my mother home to stay with me instead of sending her to a sanitarium. And…one time when…she was having one of her episodes, she…slapped me. After getting some rest, she asked how I got my face all red, I told her I bumped into something."

"You're a good son, Spencer."

"And you're a good daughter, Élise."

"Hey," Élise pats on Reid's hands as Diana rushed over to their side with Anastasia in her arms.

"Think you can bring in Anastasia here more often." A giddy Diana asked.

Reid and Élise nodded their heads. "Anytime."

"Now, come in and join in on the fun."

Housewarming Party…

"What a swanky place you got here, pretty boy," Morgan said as he, Savannah, and their growing son Hank, entered the reception hall/room and formal living room. There was Prentiss, Rossi and Krystall, Simmons, Kristy, and their kids, Hotch and Jack, Garcia, Tara, Alvez, and Lisa.

"Indeed it is," Hotch said, observing the formal living room. "How big is this house?"

"15,100 square feet sitting on an acre," Reid answered as he rocked Anastasia in his arms. "Eight bedrooms and bathrooms. The house comes with a pool, laundry room, a library and office, a little spa with a sauna, exercise room; the house even has a guest house."

"Wow," Kristy exclaimed.

"How can you afford a place like this?" Alvez asked.

"Élise did win millions of dollars in the NJ lottery years ago and…you know when Élise...had her ordeal with Griffin?"

"Unfortunately, yeah."

"Well, her and along with his survivors managed to split the money he inherited from both his biological and adoptive parents."

"Well, I'm sure it doesn't erase the memories she still holds from him, I'm glad it can be used for a fresh start." Tara nods her head.

"I drink to that," Prentiss raised her glass in the air before taking a sip.

"So, where is Élise?" Matt asked.

"Yeah, how's Élise doing?"

"I'm coming," Élise overheard them as she was descending down from the stairs. Asking as she entered the room,

"Hey, everyone."

Some of their mouths dropped, some were speechless, and some were smirking.

"You're pregnant." Garcia finally said.

"Very pregnant," Kristy pointed out.

In a black long-sleeve turtleneck maternity dress.

"Yes, I am," Élise replies, rubbing her belly. "Five months."

"Five months?" Alvez had to ask.

"Yup. With twins."

"Twins?!" Morgan exclaimed.

"I guess they really got naked by the end of Justin Timberlake's Rock Your Body," Alvez whispered to Simmons.

"You said something?" Élise asked with raised eyebrows.

"Nothing." Simmons tries to assure her.

"Oh," Garcia rushes to hug Élise, "Two babies. Two babies." Now rushing to hug Reid and Anastasia. "You're going to raise twins." That's when she noticed, "O…M…G!" And then noticed, "You two are married?"

Morgan, Alvez, and Simmons almost did a spit take, some were still shocked, surprised, speechless.

Grinning, "Yes. We finally admitted we love each other. And we have for a long time, but…I want to be with her for the rest of my life and I'm just so glad she's the mother of my children." Reid and Élise gave each other a very long and passionate kiss on the lips.

Savannah hugs Élise, "Well, congrats you to." Whispering to herself, "Took you two long enough."

"What?"

"Nothing."
