Shane wakes up as the aircraft lands.
"Mr Moon we are here" Glynda states as she stands up and walks to the door "and don't forget your bags"
Shane stands up and reaches overhead to grab his duffel bag from a overhead compartment. As he walks off he can see that landing pad area is very empty besides all the signs telling people where the auditorium is
"Very soon students from all edges of the world will be coming here to learn how to be a huntsmen . Some worked their whole life just to get here, others never will. So maybe you should drop your attitude and start treating this as a learning experience" Goodwitch said in a very professional tone
Shane let his bag drop to his feet and took a look at here
"Ms Glynda , I do not need this schools training. My country has been training the most elite warriors for years now and my opinion is that they outclass everyone one of any huntsman that could ever come out of this school. But I will take everything with a grain of salt."
Glynda could see she was finally somewhat getting through to this boy. Even thought he was still so young he carried himself as an already skilled fighter and leader and he even talks like he could send people into battle. But beneath all that she could also sense a lot of hurt. Almost like a lost childhood, one full of pain and hate. Maybe that's why his mood was always so sour
A large passenger sized bullhead carrying the first wave of students landing cuts her thoughts off. She quickly comes back to her senses
"Mr Moon everyone eles will be arriving shortly, I suggest you make your way to the auditorium for the headmasters welcoming speech"
She walks off whilst typing away at here scroll and leaves Shane to himself for the first time since leaving Sparta. Shane takes a moment and looks at the students unloading. Most of them look very unimpressive but even Shane has to admit there are one or two that could make a good warrior. Shane begins to walk off when he stumbles onto a dispute between two other students one wearing a long red cape and the other practically dressed in a all white dress
The girl in white was making a fuss to the girl in red whilst shaking around a dust vile which couldn't of been sealed tightly because it was going everywhere. The girl in red ended up sneezing causing the dust itself to go off in the girl in whites face sending the vile flying away toward yet another girl. This one on the other hand was wearing mainly black. The girl in red finally getting fed up with the girl in whites attitude shot a small insult just as small as herself
"Hey I said I was sorry princess" the red girl said
Then almost like a ninja the girl in black walks up unseen to the other two only getting their attention when she speaks up
"Its heiress actually" the girl in black states "Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee dust company one of the largest producers of energy propellent in the world"
Shane wondered why she look somewhat familiar. Being around weapons his whole life Shane was no stranger to dust and being a heavily militarized country Sparta need a good amount of dust to keep its military in full fighting force
"Finally some recognition" the girl in white says cockily shooting a glance at the girl in red
"The same company known for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners" the girl in black finishes
The girl in white fumbles with her words until she just grabs her vile of dust from the girl in black and storms off the girl in red shouts at her saying something about making this up. The girl in black then turns around and just walks away too, right toward Shane. As she gets closer, she locks eyes with the spartan. A very questionable look can be seen on her face that is quickly replaced with anger
She goes to say something but quickly decides against it and just walks past him. Shane starts to then walk in the direction of the girl in red now seeing a blond knight looking boy helping her up. They are heard making small jokes when they finally both turn to see Shane walking up
The girl in red eyes light up somewhat
"Umm, excuse me but, are… are you a Spartan?" she asking cautiously and shyly
Shane gives her a look towering over her and the boy. To be honest this question took him off guard. He was half expecting to just go through this whole school without talking to anybody and he would of thought his intimidating stature would keep anyone from trying to talk to him. He had to commend this girl for her bravery. That is walking up to a stranger and starting a conversation. He will fully judge her when he sees what she can do in combat.
"Yes, I am Shane of Sparta and might I ask who is asking?"
"W-well I'm Ruby…. Ruby Rose of uhhhh j-just Ruby Rose" she replied sheepishly
Shane raised an eyebrow
"Well, is there something you need?"
Ruby snaps out of her trance
"Well I was hoping I could ask about your weapons. Ever since yesterday when I saw an article on my scroll about a spartan attending Beacon I was up all night reading about it. I guess im just curious on what you use. I've only seen the videos of you guys fighting grimm but there always very shaky and from very far away" she says very,very,very long windily
The girl now completely over her shyness is walking around Shane taking in everything he is wearing
"Oh wow! You have a cape too, I mean I do too oh and is that a collapse able shield? Wow how did you work it onto your arm like that? That square on the back of your neck what is that? I don't think I've ever seen anyone wear armor with a piece like that on it. Your sword is kind of short too, but I guess you do have a spear. You do have a spear right?
While this girl was geeking over Shane the blond boy speaks up
"Hey, Ruby come on don't you think the guy would like some space?"
Ruby snapping back to reality realized she was practically drooling all over Shane. She blushes and backs away scratching the back of her head
"Sorry! Im kind of a weapons freak. Here look at mine" she says as she simultaneously takes a compact box shaped thing off of her back and unfolds it into a giant scythe, that when it fully activates the tip of the blade somewhat pierces the ground. Shane's eyes widen
Such a small and frail looking girl carrying something that big. Their cant be any possible way that she can swing that thing around
"Ummm, impressive" Shane looks at the blond boy "So what about you? Anything special like hers?"
The blond boy looks down at his feet then sighs. He unsheathes a sword and takes the sheathe itself off his hip and pushes a button on it. It unfolds into a shield
"All I have is this old sword and shield" he says embarrassed
"Nice, I see you are a man of culture like myself" Shane says
Maybe this shy boy could be actually a warrior. Who else in this advanced world would only carry so simple then?
The three then look around and see that all of the other students unloading from the docking areas have disappeared. Shane takes the Initiative and begins to walk and the other two follow
"So blond boy what is your name"
"Oh, the names Jaune Arc short, sweet, rolls off the tongue. Ladies love it"
Shane looks at him with an unamused look and sighs. Maybe this boy is just a fool and no warrior at all. Maybe he was right about this academy and how his life and time will just be wasted here
As Ruby and Jaune make small talk while following Shane they eventually reach the auditorium. Ruby is call over by a blond girl while Jaune could be heard sighing
After a couple of minutes some loud speakers could be heard turning on and everyone looks toward the source of the sound. A man wearing mostly all green starts giving a speech surely it was informational but Shane completely toned it out. He was fixated on this man. This has to be the man in charge of the academy this has to be the one they call Ozpin. This weak looking man is the one that has sabotaged Shane's way of life and tore him away from his home.
When the man is done talking walks up and speaks about how everyone will be sleeping in the ballroom that night
The rest of the day passes quickly as Shane finds himself a nice and quite spot in the ballroom. As night nears he unpacks his sleeping bag and a book. Shane was never much a reader but with nothing else to do he finds this the best way to past the time. Shane is stopped by a thud. A group of four boys are horse playing right next to Shane coming kind of close but not too close. Shane ignores and keeps reading
Night nears so Shane decides he is going to change into something to sleep in and goes to the bathroom. He comes back several minutes later wearing a pair of baggy brown pants and a sleeveless undershirt. Even thought it was only his arms exposed you could see the many scars that littered his body
When Shane got back to his sleeping bag something was off. Even thought everything look to be in the right order and just how he left it he could swear something wasn't just right. So he dug into his bag and found out why he was feeling this way
Shane didn't bring a lot of personal items with him so he would know if he was missing something. Thats why when he emptied his bag and found out that a small box that he stored his dust in was missing he knew for a fact he didn't just lose it
Shane looked around to the people closest to him. To his left was the girl that wore all black. To his front was a whole crowd of people and the only ones that stood out was the girl Ruby talking to the blond girl from before. Lastly to his right was the group of boys that were playing around earlier. They finally settled down and went to sleep.
Shane just shook his head and calmed down and decided to just work down this people closest to him. He started to the girl on his left and walked over
As he walked up to her she looked up from a book she was reading and immediately looked back to her book.
"Excuse me, but I have seemed to have lost something of mine and was wandering if you have seen it"
The girl in black looked at him and almost could be seen internally debating with herself
"What did you lose?"
"It was a small box containing dust. I went to go change and when I got back it was gone I was wandering if you noticed anything?"
"No…..but those four boys that were playing around finally settled down shortly after you left. That might be something you want to look into"
Shane gave her a nod and a thank you and walked off toward the group of four. When he finally got over there without even greeting them he starting going through their belongings searching for his box of dust. After tossing one bag to the side that caused one of them to open an eye and see what Shane was doing
"Hey man what do you think your doing?" he said hostility
"I have, with great suspicion that one of you four have taken something from me. So just lay down go back to sleep and if I find it that will be that. Nothing for you to worry about"
"What? Hey dude im not just about to let you go through my stuff" the boy with a mowhawk says as he stands up. The other three get up too
As Shane is done and digging through the third bag a tall boy with brown hair puts his hand on Shane's shoulder as he is hunched over
"Listen man if your looking for trouble you sure as hell found it" he says as he gives Shane a shove away from the bag
Shane gaining his balance now stands tall looking down at the boy that just pushed him
"Im going to says this only once. I have lost something. It was a brown box containing some dust that I use. Let me finish going through your bags and that will be that" Shane says calmly
"What do you hear yourself? If anything how about you pick up everything that you just threw on the ground huh? Yeah, go ahead and do that or eles" the brown haired boy said
One of the others laughs
"Yeah Cardin you tell him, show him whose boss"
Shane smirks
"Or else what?" he ask challengingly
The boy whos name Shane nows knows as Cardin replies
"Or you will be picking up your teeth!"
He must have been pretty happy with himself as he said this, cause he looked back at his group laughing at what he just said. As he turned back to Shane his eyes widened. What moved as fast as a train but hit as hard as a boarbatusk nailed him right center on his face
Cardin flew backwards and landed on his back his friends watching him the whole way. When they turned back to Shane all he was doing was standing there with his arms crossed. They then looked back at Cardin who wasn't getting up and blood began to leak out of his nose.
"Anyone else who wants the same just simply walk forward and I will be happy to comply. If not hand over my box now and leave it at that"
A boy with gray hair kneeled down to his bag and reached in and pulled out none other than Shanes box and handed it over. As Shane grabbed the box he looked around for the first time to see if not everyone almost everyone was looking at him. He turned away paying no mind to them and walked back to his sleeping bag stuffing his box deep into his duffel bag.
Shortly after Ruby and the blond girl walked over
"Hey big guy, what was all of that about?" the blond girl said while pointing her thumb and three of the four group of guys just standing around Cardin as he wipes up his blood that fell on the floor
"That? They stole something of mine and the dumb one on all fours wanted to pick a fight and I was happy to oblige him. Although I have to say it was a short one at that."
"Well I'd say! You hit him before he could even fully activate his aura. That was basically a cheap shot thought. He wasn't even ready" the blond girl said
Shane look at her
"If he wasn't ready for a fight he shouldn't have provoked me. Also you should always be ready for a fight no matter what, so that's not excuse" Shane said with a hint of aggravation and hostility
Ruby sensing this walked in between the two
"Yang I don't think I introduced you yet but this is Shane. He's actually from Sparta of all places! Crazy right? Shane this is my big sister Yang"
Shane looked up and down at Yang. She didn't look like she was capable of anything special besides flaunting her body around and having unkept hair. The three just kind of stared at each other until Ruby spoke up again
"Soooo, watcha doing?"
"Well, if you must know I was just about to staring going over my gear for tomorrow. Something that only takes one person to do" he says
"So, whats Sparta like? Is it anything like it is here?" Ruby ask
Shane looks up at here
"No, for one Sparta is more greener and isn't as big. The city isn't really surrounded by walls either yet mainly a wall of Spartans at post standing guard. I would recommend for you to go ever could. But the only way for you to get inside the main capital is being a spartan yourself."
After a little more idle chatter the girls leave and Ruby gives Shane a wave and a smile as she walks off. Such a strange girl. I cant wait to see what she can do with that monster of a weapon tomorrow
