Hey guys, sorry it's been so long. School, dancing and work have been really bad lately. So here is chapter 14. Warning: I do say a swear word, though some people don't classify it as one but some do. So just putting the warning out there. If you don't like it, then don't read the chapter or skip it.

Bec's POV

As we pulled up to the funeral place, I could see high school friends that I hadn't seen in years standing outside. I got out and walked to them.

"Hey guys" I said weakly trying to keep it together.

"What are you doing here" one of the girls Charlie said.

"What do you mean?"

"You disappear for years, and then you come back and have the nerve to show up today as if you never left, you don't even know Aaron anymore." She replied bitterly.

"Excuse me, but Aaron and I have kept in contact, we talked at least once a day and if we couldn't do every day then it would have been once a week. I was his emergency contact, so I would have been the first to find out what happened to him. I got on the first plane up to come to him. He would come and visit regularly. So you don't you dare say I didn't know him. He was my best friend." I exclaim. I must have yelled so loud cause next thing I know Leo had his arms around me and was leading me away.

"Just breathe baby" he whispered in my ear. With that I turn myself into him and break down sobbing.

"It's not fair, he wasn't meant to die before me" I mumble over and over again. Hammersley looked really worried at what I had just said.

"Let's go sit ok." Swain said leading the way in.

As we walked in Aaron's mum Sandy made her way over.

"Becca, oh sweetie comes here" she said opening her arms out. I stepped out of Leo's and into hers.

"I'm sorry mum, I should have protected him" I mumble, and everyone grew confused at what I had just said.

"You did sweetie, you did. Thank you for coming. I heard what happened out there. I sent those kids home. They had no right to say that. By the way the first two rows at the front are for you and your friends okay. Also Aaron wanted you to do a speech, is that okay"

"Ya mum that's fine." I respond stepping back and wiping my face.

"Ok baby, go sit down" she replied and then walked over to her husband Shaun.

With that we walked to the first two rows and sat. after 5 minutes the funeral started. Everything went by in a blur. It wasn't until I had to speak that I eventually tuned in.

"Um hi. For those of you who don't know me I'm Becca, one of Aaron's friends. Aaron and I have known each other since pre-school so for 15 years. He was my best friend. We did everything together. So you could imagine mum and dad's shock when I joined the Navy and he didn't. It actually shocked the teachers and basically everyone who knew us. I mean we would put up a fight until the principal put us in the same class. I would like to say thank you to everyone for coming today, I know it means a lot to the family. But I would like to thank my friends who came with me, took time off work just to come here. Um Aaron, I miss you already and one of the biggest moments of my life, which I hoped you would be there for, is happening. And I don't know what I'm going to do now. I imagined I would be the first to die. But um thanks for looking after me all these years. And thanks mum and dad for making me part of the family." I say as I look over to them who give a small smile and nod in acknowledgement.

"But um I miss you. I will always love you. Rest in peace til I get up there. Then we will continue to give 'em hell. See ya soon bud." I finish as I walk over to his coffin and put a hand on it. It was then that the dam broke and tears fell from my eyes. I wiped my eyes and walked back to Leo.

After another 20 minutes the funeral was finished. We went back to mum's for the thing after the funeral (I don't actually remember what it is called.) as we walked in there were pictures left right and centre. When I looked closer I noticed I was in nearly every single one.

"You two really were inseparable, weren't you?" Sally asked with tears starting to form in her eyes.

"Yep" I responded.

"Becca, do you have copies of these" dad asked.

"Nope, do you mind if I copy one of each" I asked

"Go ahead." He responded wrapping an arm around me and pulling me into a side hug. I eventually fell asleep on the couch after ½ an hour.

Leo's POV

After another half hour Bec fell asleep on the couch.

"Leo sweetie, why don't you go put her in Aaron's room" Sandy said.

"Um ya sure, just where is it?"

"Down the hall, second on the right" she replied.

"Ok thank you." With that I picked Bec up and carried her to them room, with not noticing everyone including Sandy and Shaun following. As I opened the door I realised that Aaron had a lot of pictures of him and Bec, ranging from pre-school to her in the Navy uniform.

"He was so proud the day she was accepted, he put all these photo's up and never took them down, if anything he added." Sandy said shaking her head.

"He went down for her graduation from the academy, that's this picture. Asked another graduate to take it. They took so many that day. Eventually when he came home, he started crying. Saying how he was being selfish but wished she hadn't made it, and then he could keep an eye on her. He didn't like how she was now in harm's way. He was so broken. It broke us. But eventually he was himself again, well not quite. The smile just didn't reach his eye anymore. But every picture with Bec after she left, it's the happiest we saw him. They planned to do everything together. She was planning on asking Aaron to walk her down the aisle whenever she got married. For him to be the godfather of her child. She wanted him to be there every step of her life. I really don't know how she is going to cope, so please keep an eye on her. I don't need to lose my other baby." Sandy said.

"Of course we will look after her. But if you don't mind me asking, how is she your other baby" the Co said.

"Well since they were very close together, if she wasn't at school she was either here or they were at her place. One day she was over in grade 3 and she called out to me but instead of saying Sandy she called out mum. From that day we were mum and dad not Sandy and Shaun. It confused teachers so much. She came to family dinners, Christmas' and Easter's. Eventually Aaron's uncle became hers. We were family. And we have so much of her stuff here, that she had her own room. Well she still does. It's right next door." Sandy explained with a small smile on her face.

"Oh, well that is really cute" Sally exclaimed, with a huge grin from the story.

"Yes well, I'm going to start dinner" Sandy said

"Hang on mum, I'll come help" Bec said from the bed.

"How long you been awake?" Ro asked.

"Only for a few minutes" she responded getting up and making her way to the kitchen.

Bec's POV

As mum and I started dinner everyone kept asking questions.

"So what else did she do" X asked.

"Well she would make dinners, lunch, breakfast. She did the laundry sometimes. She basically acted as if she lived here. Which we didn't mind. They acted as if they dated, only thing they dint do was kiss on the lips. They were quite the sight in public. Always got comments on how cute they were. It was always funny to watch them gape at the person, look to each other and then say 'we aren't dating'." dad explained chuckling.

"Yes she wasn't even only here if Aaron was, she would invite herself over even if he was at work, sit on the couch turn the TV on, unless she was helping us with something. Eventually in grade 8 she got her own set of keys here. Which by the way, I hope you still have" mum exclaimed turning on me.

"Yes mum, I do" I responded.
