Hello everyone! I have decided to keep writing the chapters for this FF until it is completed before I work on the next one. Here is Chapter Eleven! Again to all you who have stuck with me and are still interested in this fic I hope you enjoy!
We quickly realized we were to late to stop the creature from rising again as we watched with horror as it broke it's way out of the yellow substance that had encased its skeletal remains with a roar. A covering of muscle and body tissue quickly appeared on it's body as it stood and walked around the room.
As I gazed at the creature I felt a sudden painful pressure in my head and turned away sitting down on the floor to keep myself from view and trying to stay quiet as I closed my eyes tightly and pinched the bridge of my nose trying lessen the pressure.
"My daughter. I am sorry, forgive me for what must happen." An unfamiliar voice whispered in my head.
The sound of a gunshot pulled me back into the present and I shook off the weird voice and what it said as I focused on using the distance to my advantage as I threw my knives at the cult men who were chasing Rick and Evy whom he must have freed while I had been out of it.
There was no time for talking as Imhotep sent four other mummy like creatures after us causing us to have to run for our lives. As we ran out of the Museum, Evy suddenly stopped and turned running back to the doors and pulled a bench over in front of the doors.
Rick rushed back to get her and was pulling her away all the while hollering,
"Hunny.. whatca doing? These guys don't use doors!"
Running down the steps we started towards where Rick's car was parked only to see that it was empty.
"Where the heck is Jonathan?!" Rick hollered just as a double decker bus driven by Jon pulled up in-front of us. "Alex!" Evy exclaimed happily seeing Alex in the window right beside Jon. Evy, Ardeth and I immediately ran to the end of the bus and began to climb onto the bus while Rick stayed at the front of the bus and asked well more like demanded,
"What's the matter with my car?!"
"Well I was forced to find an alternative means of transportation!" Jon replied without really answering Rick's question.
"A DOUBLE DECKER BUS!?" Rick hollered in disbelief causing Jon to point to Alex who was currently being hugged tightly by Evy,
"It was his idea!" Jon yelled.
"Was NOT!" Alex hollered back pulling away from Evy.
"Was TO!" Jon replied wanting to make sure that Alex took the blame.
"Just go!" Rick hollered as he started running towards the back of the bus where the door was while Jon and Alex kept bickering over who's idea it was in the background. I turned my attention to the large back window at the end of the bus hearing a loud crashing sound, Ardeth joined me at the window as Jon pulled away from the Museum.
I watched in amusement as the four mummy creatures jumped on-top of Rick's car, smashing it causing Rick to cry out in pain,
"NO! Not my car!"
As Jon drove away Rick entered the bus and glared hatefully at the four mummy creatures that were following us.
"OH I hate mummies!" Rick muttered angrily as glared at them. "Glad to see me now?" Ardeth asked causing Rick to turn his angry gaze to him as Rick pumped his gun.
"Just like old times!" Rick said sardonically before he headed to the upper level of the bus to get a better vantage point to shoot at the creatures.
The creatures soon abandoned the road in favor of using the various buildings as their own personal ladders as they raced to catch up to the bus. I left the back end of the bus and made my way up to where Evy and Alex were standing huddled beside Jon who was driving. Ardeth stayed near the back window while I gave Evy a quick hug,
"Glad to see your okay." I told her before pulling away and turning my attention to the back of the bus where Ardeth was emptying a clip of bullets into a mummy that was trying to get in through the door.
I immediately started back towards Ardeth just as the creature flew backwards out of the doorway, Ardeth backed up a few steps to reloaded his gun while I paused standing in the middle of the bus.
"Feels like it's been forever since the last adventure!" I said feeling a huge smile pull at my face at the excitement and adrenaline that was racing through my veins.
Ardeth laughed, "I know I should say something about peace being a good thing but I have missed this!" He replied in Arabic as he finished reloading his gun just as a creature swung itself in the door.
It managed to knock Ardeth's gun out of his hands it clattered across the bus floor to me as I picked it up Ardeth backed up a few steps keeping himself between the creature and me. As soon as Ardeth got less then a foot in-front of me I hollered out, "DUCK!" And Ardeth dropped into a low crouch causing the creature who had been lunging at Ardeth to come flying towards me using the gun like a bat I swung and socked it in the face causing it to fly backwards out of the back window and into the street.
"Go help Rick, I've got this!" I told Ardeth tossing him back the gun and pulling out one of my twin swords holding onto a pole to keep still as Jon continued to drive like the crazy person he was.
"Be careful my love." Ardeth whispered planting a quick kiss on my lips before he rushed towards the stairs the led to the second level.
