Hey everyone, sorry it's been so long. Currently working on chapters for my 3 stories. Thank you for your support and understanding and I hope this chapter is liked. Disclaimer: I know nothing about these events mentioned in the chapter only what I've seen on movies or TV.

Bec's POV

We were walking through the streets on the way to the rodeo. That's right, a large group of city folk were going to a rodeo. And of course, they had gone shopping to buy "cowboy/girl outfits". I was dressed in a blue and white plaid shirt, blue skinny jeans, white cowboy boots and a white cowboy hat. Ok so I may have started the whole lets dress the stereotypical way. Oops.

Walking through the gates, I led them over to a row of seats with an empty row behind. Us girls and Spider were in the front row while the rest were in the second.

"Holy crap its hot." Spider started complaining.

"Don't start. This is a typical day, in fact it's a little cooler than other days, you're lucky."

"Yeah Spider. Just put on sunscreen, keep the hat on and find shade. Also drink water. That goes for all of you." Mike ordered just like a father would. Always trying to protect us.

"So what happens at these things?" Kate asked.

"Non-stop rodeo action - bull riding, saddle bronc, bareback bronc, rope & tie, steer wresting, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping. It's amazing, you guys will probably cringe quite a lot, but expect a lot of yelling." I respond as the commentator announced the start of the barrel racing.

"Also if you're lucky you might see me enter some of these." I say with a wink to Leo.

"Bec." I turn to see my ex-boyfriend standing beside the stands.

"Josh, its great to see you." I say hoping up to give him a hug.

"Yeah, good to see you too. Who are you here with?"

"I'm here with my ship mates." And introduced them all

Leo's POV

"Bec" we all turned to see a young man standing next to us.

"Josh, its great to see you" I watched as she hoped up to hug him. As he took a step back he raked his eyes up and down her body. Oh I did not like this man.

"Yeah, good to see you too. Who are you here with?"

"I'm here with my ship mates." I watched as he straightened up as she started listing us off.

"Oh, nice to meet you all. Look I've got to get back to mum and dad. Lucy, Amanda and Riley should be here soon. You should come say hi, and if not I'd love to go get a coffee with you while you're here."

"Um, yeah. I'll come over and say hi probably after this event." With that she hugged him and he left.

"So… How'd you know him?" Nav asked.

"Oh he was my boyfriend from year 10-12. We broke up because I left for the navy" she responded casually.

"Yeah, so you knew his family well?" Nav asked again.

"Um yeah, I guess. I mean his mum and dad are Jill and Roy, his sister Amanda and her two kids Lucy and Riley. And then there's Amanda's husband Dylan but I'm assuming he's working today. Lucy is 3 and Riley is 5. I'm Lucy's godmother."

"Oh cool. So if you and Aaron were inseparable how did you have time for Josh?"

"I mean, yes I admit Josh and I were mainly by ourselves when Aaron was at work but Josh was always cool with how close Aaron and I were." And then suddenly she went quiet. I sat there watching her.

"I'm going to go get food, some of you boys want to come help. What would everyone like?" Bec asked. After we all placed our orders Bec, Swain, Spider, Buffer and Ryan walked off to get food and drinks.

Swain's POV

We came back and handed the food and drink out we sat down to watch the event. I have to admit, these people have talent to be able to stay on horses while going around barrels.

Suddenly Bec got up and started speed walking away. We all looked at each other curious. Then we saw a little girl jump into her arms. I have to admit I've never seen Bec smile as big as she was in that moment. Walking back over with the girl in her arms and holding the hand of a young boy she stopped in front of us and introduced us all.

"Swain and Sally, these two munchkins are going to go to the kids club. Would you like Chloe to join them."

"Chloe would you like to go play with other kids?" I asked, for no reason apparently as she had jumped up and was standing beside Bec.

"Ok. Well I'll go with Bec and sign her in." nodding I kissed my wife and watched her walk away with the kids and Bec.

Sally's POV

After signing the kids in, Bec and I were walking back when I nudged her shoulder.

"What's wrong, you've been weird since you told us about Josh."

"It's just my first time at the rodeo without Aaron. It was our annual best friends' day. Then I joined the Navy, he never went because that was our thing. And then Josh, like I saw him look me over and it just unnerved me."

"Ok, well cheer up and if you need a moment at any point, say you're going to the toilet and I'll come with you."

"Thanks Sal, you're amazing." She said giving me a side hug. With our arms around each other's shoulders we walked back to the group. I hope we don't see any more of her past. I don't think she could take it.
