Rodeo part 2

Bec's POV

Halfway through the day I left the group to go sign up for the bull riding. I knew that it's stupid to sign up when I haven't done it in years, but I love the thrill of it.

"Ladies and gentlemen, riding Oscar for her return to the thrill, Becca Brown." Larry Jones the commentator announced. Slowly walking over to get ready to mount Oscar, I turn to see Hammersley look both terrified and excited. I knew I could do it because there was no way I was losing while they were watching. I nod in the direction and slowly swing my leg over ready to drop onto Oscar.

"All Becca has to do is stay on for 8 seconds, however no one has ever gotten past 6 seconds. Will she break the record" Larry said getting the audience all ramped up.

"And here we go in, 3,2,1…" the horn blared, I dropped and was suddenly getting bucked around as Oscar made his way into the arena. It felt amazing to do this again. I could hear Larry in the background commentating on what was happening but all I could focus on was staying on and listening for the horn to say I had done it. What felt like an eternity later, the horn blared and just as it did I was bucked off. I flew into the air and landed on my back. I had no time to catch my breath because Oscar was coming my way and fast. Scrambling up, I sprint to the fence near Hammersley and just as Oscar was about to catch me with his horns, I lept over the fence.

"Ladies and gentlemen, she did it folks. Becca beat the record and beat Oscar from catching her" as Larry announced my win, Hammersley wrapped me in hugs congratulating.

Spider's POV

Watching Bec on the bull was mesmerising. She looked so in control but that all changed when the 8 seconds was up. All I saw was my best friend flying and landing on her back. I stopped breathing. Suddenly she was up and racing towards us. As she lept over the fence we looked back to see Oscar skidding to a right turn to not slam into the fence. I was so relieved I grabbed her into a hug and didn't want to let go. My best friend is amazing.

Swain's POV

For the rest of the day we enjoyed watching the other events, asking Bomber all sorts of questions about the rules and the aim of the event was. As the night finished we all sat down to watch the fireworks. Looking to my left I saw Bec snuggled up against 2Dads with Spider on her other side, both boys with their arms wrapped around her. I'm so thankful she is part of our lives.
