Riku: *facepalm* Not again…

Chapter 7: Tower of Illusion

"This fortress…" Dark Pit mumbled, as he and the others climbed up the stairway of the abandoned fortress they were currently in to find Sakiyani. "What is it?"

"I've found information. Would you like me to tell you?" Palutena asked them.

"Yes please, Lady Palutena!" Pit answered enthusiastically.

Palutena took a deep breath before going to her explanation. "This old fortress was once known as the Gensou Tower, or the Tower of Illusions. It was once a part of a castle, but the castle mysteriously burned down one day, leaving only the tower. However, it was known as the Gensou Tower because of the fact that when people came, they could've sworn they saw the castle, but the castle never existed. Eventually, the tower became abandoned."

"So, this fortress is a Tower?" Riku asked in clarification.

"Yes. Be careful. As its name implies, Sakiyani could use the Tower against you."

Xion, as she was stealthily following them, heard everything the Goddess of Light had said. She already knew much caution was necessary, since she didn't want to be caught by her friends and teammates, and Xion wanted to help in any way she was able to, but wanted to mainly be backup if her friends needed it.

The group went to climbing up the stairwell for much longer, and it seemed to last forever and ever, like it would never end.

That was mainly because the staircase was long and suddenly…THEY HIT A WALL.

This caused them to tumble all the way back down to the beginning of the stairs. However, Xion narrowly avoided in time for such a thing to happen.

Then she heard an enraged Roxas yell, "DAMMIT!"

Xion found that the wall was an Illusion. They believed they had hit a wall and fell. However, Xion walked through the wall like it was nothing. She hoped her friends could do that same and figure it out, as she didn't want to go too far ahead of them and get caught.

Downstairs, out of all of the five that got hurt, Riku got hurt the most.

Riku fell down first and landed first, and then Pittoo fell on top of him, and then Roxas fell on top of Pittoo who was on top of Riku, which resulted in Sora falling on top of Roxas who was on top of Pittoo who was on top of Riku and Pit fell down last, and he fell on top of Sora, who was on top of Roxas who was on top of Pittoo who was on top of Riku and Riku had a lot of weight on top of him, so we have to say poor Riku.

"Nngh…Can't…breathe…"

"At least you aren't on top, Riku. You're heavy!" Sora indicated.

"Well, you guys combined is much heavier than me.:

Dark Pit rolled his eyes. "How about we all shut up and get off of each other or we won't be able to climb up this tower."

Pit got off of Sora who got off of Roxas who got off of Dark Pit who got off of Riku and let the guy breathe. Yes, I'm giving you relatively confusing sentences on purpose.

Riku brushed himself off before stepping up to lead the group. "I'll do it. Besides, there was something off about that wall anyway."

"There was?" Sora and Pit asked. Riku nodded as they began to climb up the stairs.

Xion was ahead of them, but they were catching up fast. Xion heard their footsteps. Conveniently, there was a safe space to the side and Xion put herself up against the wall and knelt down, and pulled her hood much tighter than it was already was. Xion noticed shadows creeping closer on the wall, and she panicked.

She was worried she'd tear her hood at this point. She wasn't seen as her friends passed by, and Xion sighed in relief. She got up and waited before proceeding to sneak behind her friends unseen.

"This tower seems to climb up forever…" Pit groaned.

"Uh huh. And this tower isn't nearly as tall at the tower where the Lightning Chariot used to reside." Virdi suddenly butted in.

"Still, it is tall…And tiring…" Pit sighed.

"Nah, I've had to climb up a tower before." Sora indicated. Pit's eyes widened. "Really?"

Sora nodded. "It only took 30-60 minutes or so."

"Sora, why would it take an hour?" Riku asked his best friend.

"I'd take breaks with climbing in the middle." Pit began to whine again, as they weren't taking any breaks.

"Pit-stain, shut up." Dark Pit growled at him.

Xion didn't laugh at them directly, but internally. She was surprised how the group was able to work together though they didn't get along.

They continued to venture up the tower. Eventually, the group before Xion hit something and before Xion could get caught in, she sidestepped into another conveniently placed hiding spot.

"Riku…is that door real?" She heard Sora ask.

"Yeah. By the looks of it, it must be the boss room, or the pre-boss room." Xion heard Riku say.

"Pre-boss room?" Xion asked herself.

"Yeah, it is. There's some Drinks of the Gods by the Door. Those are always there before a boss."

"But we didn't take any damage?" Pit asked.

"No, we did. We fell down the stairs and hit that illusion. That took off damage."

"Actually, the enemies were taken out and the most of my illusions were disabled." Saki explained.

"By who?" Xion heard Dark Pit asked.

"Don't ask. Please." Despite the monotone sound of Saki's voice, she sounded scared.

"What do you…"

"DARK PIT!" They heard a girl squeal.

"Huh?! AH!" Xion didn't know what was going on.

"Oh no…Who opened the door?" Saki asked.

Xion, who was luckily unnoticed, saw a girl with brown hair, dark purple wings, gray sweatpants and a blue t-shirt. She couldn't see her face, but she was hugging Dark Pit.

Then she said, "Hey bro!" to Sora. Sora raised an eyebrow before asking, "Do I know you?"

Xion tensed up when someone tapped her on the shoulder, and she saw Zexion. Her blue eyes were frightened.

"Do you know what's going on?" He whispered to her. Xion assumed he didn't want to get seen either.

Xion shook her head.

"No. This just happened." She explained.

"I was coming to fight Saki, but when I got up here, I saw this, so I tried staying back here and I saw you."

"Saki, what's going on?" They heard the Commander ask.

"I don't know…"

They heard Palutena's voice. "I'll handle them."

Zexion and Xion clearly saw two figures vanish in Palutena's light.

"Zexion." Xion began to ask. Zexion looked at Xion. "Yes?"

"Did you come on the Organization's Orders? I know you're with them." Xion indicated.

"Actually, I'm not." He answered.

Xion didn't get it. Then they saw Sora and the others begin to go in. "Come on." Xion told Zexion. The two followed them in.

(Saki's Chamber)

The Angel of Illusions waited on her throne after that incident. Kind of like Thanatos.

"Welcome, heroes." Saki greeted them.

"Maiden of the Commander! I am Pit…" Saki threw a staff at Pit and it hit him in the face. "OWW…."

Saki stood up. "Don't you dare try and use that on me."

"It's my boss battle taunt though…" Pit whined.

Dark Pit hit him with an arrow before going, "AHEM."

"What?" Pit asked Dark Pit, rubbing his back. "We came up with that together during the Chaos Vortex chapter, remember?!"

"We did?"

"Yeah!" Viridi yelled.

"Oh. I forgot."

Everyone face palmed at Pit's idiocy.

Saki frowned before getting into her battle stance. "Shall we fight?"

With a nod the battle began. However, Saki was surprisingly far more powerful than she looked and how they thought her magic was. Saki could stir up some powerful illusions. In fact, those illusions were far more powerful than they thought.

Which eventually lead to them getting knocked out by Saki.

"Maybe I fought too hard?" Saki asked herself.

She heard the Commander applause. "Good job, Saki. You've gotten some of our opponents out of the way. Makes me wonder why the other two couldn't handle it."

"It's not over yet." Someone said.

Saki stood up and asked, "Who's there?"

Two figures in cloaks appeared (Zexion and Xion).

Xion pulled her hood down. "I'm glad I came for backup."

Saki was interested. "You did? Then why is another here?"

Zexion pulled his hood off. "I came to help Xion."

Sakiyani instant-fired at him and Zexion dodged.

"What the…?"

"I was ordered to eliminate any of the Organization Members that tried to interfere."

Xion gasped. This was going to get bad fast.

Then it came to her. Saki was weakened from the previous fight. Zexion nodded at Xion, as an indication to let him distract her.

Xion hit Saki from behind and surprised her, and before Saki could hit back, Xion fired a Ragnarok attack at her and Saki wailed in pain.

"My word! What is up with…?" Sakiyani shouldn't have spoken as it was her loss that happened.

Zexion nor Xion did not hesitate to attack and defeat Saki, and eventually, she released a powerful breeze from her wings before saying, "I'm sorry…Commander…"

Saki vanished and the Tower began to rumble and shake. Sora and the others began to wake up.

"We need to get out of her, now!" Xion yelled at them.

"Xion?! What are you doing here?!" Roxas asked.

"There's no time! Come on!"

They managed to barely evacuate the Tower before flying off the Island, which was also crumbling.

(Palutena's Temple)

"I didn't realize that Saki was using her power to keep the Island and the Tower together." Palutena indicated as she spoke with them, though they were staring at the two mysterious Angels.

"Um…Lady Palutena? Who are they?" Dark Pit asked.

The one girl from earlier was revealed to have ocean blue eyes and a golden crown necklace and then the other angel who was apparently at the Tower too had shoulder length blonde hair, a blue t-shirt, a silver star necklace, sneakers and jeans.

Neku happened to pop in. "Hey Palutena, about that one guy…"

"NEKU!" The blonde squealed.

"Never mind!" Neku slammed the door.

"Oh, these two? The brunette is Ruby and the other one is Sky. They're here to help."

"Hi!" Sky greeted.

It was noticed Dark Pit had left the room.

"So, they'll help? And why is Zexion here?"

Palutena took a deep breath. "I'll explain…"

A/N: This chapter wouldn't write itself and I was having problems. Sorry it took so long.

Also, RubyDarknessAngel, I hope I wrote you guys out okay! Sorry for not giving you much of a role in the story in this chapter.

I apologize for its relative shortness. This chapter was hard to write, as I just said.

I can't say whose next. And the Commander… Really, who is she and what is she after? And why?!
