Chapter 19
Korra was in the lift bringing Kuvira underground to take her to her wooden cell that replaced her broken cell. When the reached under ground Korra and two other sentries guided her to her cell. Once into her cell, Kuvira turns to Korra. "How did you find me?" She asked.
"Kuvira, we are a lot a like in many respects." Korra started. "So I used it to spiritually track you and where you were going and used it to get to you with the police."
Kuvira smiled. "Thank you Korra for keeping an eye out for my daughter, though I feel sad that she will have to separate from herself from her friends."
Korra looked at her confused. "The country knows that she is my daughter and they will hate her for it and the president will use it as an excuse to deport her even if she arrived legally." Kuvira explained.
"If he is I will convince him to change his mind myself." Korra said with a smirk.
Korra then left the prison after Zaheer and her gave each other peculiar looks that no one could decipher. Korra than made her way home to a sizable home just outside Republic City. Once she opened the door she gets tackled by a little light skinned girl with black hair and green eyes. "Hey Katara, I take it that you missed me huh?" She asked.
She nodded vigorously. Korra smiled and hugged the little girl. "Well lets go inside and see how Hiroshi and mommy are doing?" Korra asked.
"Okay mom?" She said getting off her.
They walk into the house as a dark-skinned male with brown hair and blue eyes looks up from his book and sees his mom. "Hey mom how did the emergency go?" He asked.
"It went well." Korra stated.
A door opens to the living room and Asami came and kissed her wife on the cheek. "So how was your day."
Korra smiled at her. "Well, Kuvira is back in her cell and her daughter has been rescued from her kidnappers, so it went really good today." She said.
Asami smirked. "Good." She said smirking before her and Korra kiss.
"Eww." Hiroshi stated not looking up from his book.
Katara giggles at Hiroshi. "Now what's for dinner Sami." Korra asked.
"The cook is making some noodles with some fish." She told them.
"The cook is awesome." Korra said flopping on the couch next to Hiroshi.
"Hey Hiro, what are you reading?" She asked.
"A story about the final battle of the 100 year war." He told his mom.
"Hopefully it's not written by Toph." She stated.
"A story by Toph sounds interesting." Hiroshi countered.
"She told me a story, just gave a brief description about the surroundings and what happened." Korra said grumpily.
"Maybe you are just terrible at listening to stories." Hiroshi said with a smirk on his face.
Korra playfully glared at her son. Korra then smirk before putting her arm around him to annoy him. It works. "Mom!" He exclaimed.
Korra laughed while bringing him closer to her. "Mom are you teasing Hiro because I want to join." Katara said jumping on Hiroshi.
"Ah Mother help me please." Hiroshi pleaded for Asami.
"All right you two stop teasing Hiroshi." She told them.
"Fine." Korra said with a great big breath.
Korra and Katara let Hiroshi go. Hiroshi dusts himself off with a blush on his face. "Speaking of work, Katara are you done with your homework?" Asami asked her.
Katara looked at around guiltily. "No." She answered.
Asami gives her a discerning look. "Go to the table and I will help you with it in a few minutes."
"So how was your day dear?" Korra asked.
"It was fine, got a board meeting tomorrow, hey with everything going on, why don't you invite the chief and her charge over for dinner Friday." Asami suggested.
Korra looked at her wife with a focused look. "You know that sounds like a good idea, I will ask the chief tomorrow in our meeting over the incident."
Suddenly Korra had a forlorn look on her face. "Beifong is being pushed to retire over this incident." Korra relayed sadly.
Asami looked shocked over the news. "Really, I knew the president was losing support but to force a respected stalwart like Beifong just shows how desperate he is."
"I have not had a president that I wanted to punch since Raiko." Korra stated.
"Well he is a politician dear what do you expect."
"Well at least Friday is something we can maybe look forward to." Korra said giving Asami a quick peck on the lips.
"Can you to get a room please?" Hiroshi asked desperately.
Korra and Asami laugh at that. "I am going to help Katara with her homework I will come when dinner is ready." Asami told them.
Korra then went to the radio and turned it on to the jazz station to listen to some music while pulling a book out to read. She tapped her foot on the floor. She looked at her son to see that he was doing the same. Korra smiled and continued to read and listen to music.
