A/N: Sorry this chapter is super short. I'm not even a month into writing and I have two Fanfics. The next chapters will be longer. Please Review!
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter
I hear Hazel rush into my room and slam the door. She probably has another "amazing" idea. Hazel is my twin sister. We have the same short brown hair, the same dark brown eyes, and the same crazy imagination. We have always been very close, probably because we always needed help with our crazy ideas. Once, we decided to paint our shared room without anyone knowing. We were four at the time. We ended up with rainbow walls and shocked parents. Another time, we decided to cut our hair. It was April 2nd, the day before our 7th birthday. We cut each other's hair right above the shoulders. Since we cut each other's hair and not our own, it didn't look bad. Mom let us keep it, and to this day we wear that hairstyle. The only main difference between our personalities is that she is very outgoing while I tend to be shy. I also think things through, while she just seems to go with any of her ideas.
"I have an amazing idea!" she announces.
"I figured," I say, "What is it today?" We have always been very close, but this year we have drifted apart a little bit. We are still best friends, but now she goes to a different school, Hogwarts. She came home for Christmas break last week.
"Okay, Helen," she says, still obviously excited, "So you can't do magic, but that doesn't mean you can't go to Hogwarts!"
"What are you talking about?" I ask. Around a year ago, a woman with stern eyes and hair in a tight bun came to our house. She told my sister that she was a witch and did some magic to prove it. It was just a few days before Christmas. Hazel said it was the best gift she's ever received. Before the woman left, Hazel asked if I was a witch as well. The woman had said that, though it was rare for only one twin to be magical, it was the case here.
"Well, I have been thinking about this for a while," she says. That surprises me, I usually am informed the moment she has an idea.
"Okay?" I say, waiting for her to continue.
"When I got to Hogwarts, I was already trying to think of a way for you to go. I decided not to tell anyone about you," she explains. I feel betrayed. She didn't tell anyone about me? I thought we were best friends. Everyone at my school knows I have a twin.
"Since we are identical, most people can't tell us apart, right?" she continues. I can sort of see where she is going with this, and it doesn't seem good.
"Hazel, I'm not so sure this is the best idea..." I say. She completely ignores me and continues anyway.
"So we switch places and you get to experience Hogwarts!" she finishes. I can see about a million flaws in this plan.
"Won't everyone find out I can't do magic?"
"Not necessarily," she says. She has a mischievous twinkle in her eye.
"Plus, I've already talked to the Headmaster, Dumbledore, about it!" she says. I'm shocked that she has taken the time to plan it out. I'm usually the one trying to figure out how to make her ideas work.
"He's okay with it! Though he did say we were going to have to talk to all the different teachers about it," she says.
"Hazel, I'm still not sure this is a good idea," I say. Even though I want to go to Hogwarts, I feel like I'm intruding.
"Oh please, Helen. It will be so much fun! Plus, if anything goes wrong, we can just switch back." she says.
"Please," she begs. I roll my eyes.
"Let's do this," I say reluctantly.
"Yes!" she shouts in victory.
