A/N: Let's get into it. I just read this story from start to finish, I had forgotten what it was even about. There are so many mistakes, like good god damn, I am going to try to do a hell of a lot better with this update. When I started this story, I was in a really dark place, I am no longer in that place, so I am going to try to continue this fic without getting to deep into that dark place. Welp, here we go.
(Tori P.o.V.)
The alarm went off around 7 am, I was wrapped around the beautiful woman next to me. For the first time in years I woke up rested, no nightmares, I felt safe here with Jade. I felt like my dad couldn't get to me here. I finally opened my eyes; I lifted my head to see that Jade was awake and looking at me. There were dark circles under her eyes, like she had been up all night, even so, she was so beautiful. "Are you sure you want to go to school today? You look like you haven't slept." She just rolled her eyes at me. She managed to untangle herself from me, she got up and went to her closet, throwing me some clothes and grabbing some for her as well. She walked out of the room, I just stared at the door for a few minutes, wondering if I had done something wrong. I sighed and decided to just get dressed.
I was wearing lose fitting black jeans and a black long sleeve shirt that had small skulls on it. I didn't think I looked to bad in Jade's clothes, maybe it's time for a wardrobe change. The door opened, I looked over just as Jade came into the room, she was holding two mugs, she handed me one. "Here." Was all she said before she started drinking out of her mug. She looked amazing this morning, I just stood there staring at her. She was wearing black tights with a deep read skirt over them and a tight black long sleeve top that had nothing on it.
I stared at her for a few more minutes before I realized that I was doing it. I looked away and started to drink what was in the mug that the beautiful woman gave me, coffee, I should have known. I sat down on the bed, facing away from Jade, she was doing her makeup, and drank my coffee. "You look great, Tor." Jade came over and sat next to me. "I don't really talk until I've had some coffee, I'm not a morning person." She smiled at me. "Are you ready to go?" I shuck my head no. "Talk to me, why don't do want to go?" She cocked one eyebrow.
"I just want to stay here with you, I feel safe here." I looked her in the eye. "What if he come looking for me?" I was scared. Jade draped her arm around my shoulder and put the side of her head on mine, it was strangely comforting.
"It will be okay, Tori, I will be there with you." She kissed my temple; I could feel her smile against my skin. "We should tell Lane about some of what is going on so he can make sure your dad can't get to you when we are at school." I again shuck my head no. "You need to tell someone at school so they can protect you when you are there, if they don't know that something is going on, they can't do anything when he comes to take you out of school. He could hurt you. I don't want that to happen. You need to be protected, and we aren't in ever class together so I can't be there all day if something happens. I don't want you to get hurt. I want you to be safe so you can get help, so we can find out if anything can progress with us, if we can go beyond just a few kisses."
"I don't want him to call the cops, he is required to call if he knows of a student is being abused. If it gets out, everyone will know how weak I am, how damaged I am." I started to cry. "I don't want everyone to know, Jade. It's so humiliating."
She stood up, offering her hand to me. "Come on, lets go or we will be late." I took her hand and stood up, pulling her into a hug. We stayed like that for about 10 minutes or so before I stopped crying, I nodded my head to indicate that I was ready to go.
It took us about half an hour to get to the school, Jade came around to my side and opened the door for me. She, for the second time that day, offered her hand to me, I took it without hesitation. We walked together, hand in hand, through the door of Hollywood Arts, the students that were there and in the halls were staring at us. "Are you willing to talk to Lane if I am there with you? If any of these asshats say anything bad about you, they will be on the business end of my scissors." She leaned in, whispering in my ear. I looked at her and nodded, giving my okay. "Let's go then." She smiled at me.
As we walked to Lane's office, nobody could take their eyes off of us. I don't think anyone ever expected for Jade to be nice to me, let alone be holding my hand and whispering in my ear like we were together. Not that I would mind if we were together, if the way she has been there for me the last few days was anything to go on, she would be one hell of an amazing girlfriend. She knocked on Lane's office door, "Can I help you, Jade?" He asked when he opened the door and saw us.
"No, but you can help Tori." She said to him, I gave him a sad smile while staying slightly behind Jade. "I have to be in here with her."
He nodded, moving aside for us to come into the room. "So, ladies, what can I do for you?" He asked as he put some lotion on his hands. I still have no idea why the man uses so much lotion.
"If I tell you that someone is being abused do you have to report it?" I asked him as Jade and I sat down.
"Yes, I do." He looked at me confused. "Is someone being abused, Tori?"
I looked over to Jade, she slightly nodded her head and squeezed my hand. "I-I am." I let out a sigh, closing my eyes; I was holding on to Jade's hand for dear life, like my life depended on her keeping physical contact with me. I opened my eyes and looked at Lane, he nodded at me, silently asking me to go on. "My dad, he's been hurting me, bad. I left my house last night and I will be staying with Jade, I will not say with anyone else." I stated.
"How has he been hurting you?" He asked, looking back and forth between Jade and myself. "Why are you staying with her, I thought the two of you weren't friends?"
I looked at the woman next to me, "How much should I tell him?" She leaned in and whispered in my ear, telling me that she thinks that I should tell him everything, but it is up to me what I tell him. "Well, the reason I am staying with Jade is because she has been there for me the past few days and I feel safe with her." I closed my eyes again, trying to find my nerve to tell the weird guidance counselor what has been going on. I started to cry, Lane handed me a box of Kleenex and told me to take my time. I sat there sobbing for 10 maybe 15 minutes. At some point Jade let go of my hand and pulled me into her side, like a half hug, she was rubbing my arm lightly. "My mom died when I was ten, we were coming home from the store and I was distracting her, we got into an accident. My dad would start beating me when he was drunk, always telling me it was my fault." I stopped to take a breath and wipe my eyes, I was still crying, not as bad though. "When I got older, he started to touch me. Touching me got worse, he went further." I broke down again, I turned my head and sobbed into Jade's neck. I was clinging onto her.
"You're okay, baby, I'm here." She whispered to me. "I won't let anybody hurt you, ever." She kissed the top of my head.
Lane looked like he needed to calm down before he said anything, his fists were clinched, I could tell he was angry. He took a deep breath. "I will contact the proper people. Do you think he, or anyone, will be home right now?" He asked. I told him that everyone would be out of the house, my dad and step-mom would be at work and Trina would be here. "Okay, Jade take Tori to her parents how and help her get some of her stuff, take it to your house. I will make sure that nobody questions why you two are not in your classes today."
We walked out of the office and headed to Jade's car, again we were holding hands. She only let go of my hand for us to get into the car, once we had seatbelts on, she took my hand. We didn't speak the whole drive to my dad's house. There were no cars parked in the driveway so I know it was okay to go in.
I tried to tell Jade to stay outside, that I would be fine to go in on my own. She was having none of that, she fallowed me in and up to my room, she helped me get the things that were important. We were getting ready to leave my room when we heard the front door open and slam closed. "How's here!?" My dad yelled.
We looked at each other, Jade looked like she was about to kill him. I grabbed her arm and pulled her to the window, I opened it and throw my stuff out of it. I heard footsteps coming closer to my room, I jumped out of my second story window. I landed awkwardly, hurting my ankle, I grabbed my garbage bags of stuff, only two bags, and limped to Jade's car. I looked back to see that she wasn't following me. I was started to panic; she was still in the house with him. I was so scared of what he would do to her if he saw her.
(Jade's P.o.V.)
"Mr. Vega." I greeted him, chocking the back the bile that was threatening to come up. "I was just looking for Tori. She said that she would help me with a project this morning, before school, and she never showed up. I got worried and came to see if she was sick or something." I explained to the said excuse for a man.
"I don't know where she is, when she gets home, I will let her know that you were looking for her, Jade." He smiled at me, I fought back the edge to knock that smile right off his ugly face. Tori's mother must have been beautiful because there is no way she got her looks from this shit head, as much as I don't want to admit it, Trina was even good looking.
"Thank you, Mr. Vega." I said as I scooted past him. "I will just get going, I don't want to keep school waiting any longer that it has to, my classmates will start to question why the most attractive person isn't there."
He laughed. "It's always nice to see you, Jade. Come back anytime you want." He waved as I walked out the door. I made my way to my car, Tori was hiding in it, I could only see her when I got right up to the window of the driver's side.
I got in and started the car, driving away, when we got out a few blocks away she raised her seat up. "Did he hurt you?" She asked me, I could tell that she had been panicking.
"No, he didn't. He told my that it is always nice to see me and that I could come back anytime. I fought the edge to knock his head off." I reached over taking her hand. "Are you okay, that was a long drop." I looked over at her really quick. She told me that she was okay, she hurt her ankle but she could walk on it so it was all good. "I am really proud of you for telling Lane what was going on." I looked over again, smiling. "I know that wasn't easy, but it was a big first step." I squeezed her hand.
We got back to my house; I carried her bags inside for her. My dad was home when we got there, he told us that he had a room made up for Tori right next to my room. He let her know that she had a place here for as long as she needed and that she didn't have to use her new room if she didn't want to, she could continue to stay in my room, as long as it was okay with me.
"My room or yours?" I asked when we got upstairs. Torie nodded her head to my door. "Okay then." I smiled at her; she opened the door for me. "Welcome home, Tor." I pulled her into a hug, she pulled back slightly, looked into my eyes, then leaned into me softly putting her lips onto mine. I couldn't help but to smile into the kiss.
"Thank you, Jade, for everything you have done for me the past few days." She leaned in and kissed me again. This felt right, being in her arms, kissing her, just being near this beautiful woman. "Are you sure you want me around? This is going to be a long road and its going to be hard." She looked at me, she had doubt and worry in her eyes. "I'm not going to be okay for a long time. I know that you have feelings for me and you know that I have feelings for you, but I know that things with me are going to be hard for a long time. I couldn't ask you to wait for me to be bet- " I cut her off by kissing her.
"I will wait." I told her. "You are worth it, even if it wasn't me that you had feelings for, anyone would be lucky to have the chance to be with you and if they couldn't wait for you to be ready then they do not deserve you." I smiled at her. "I will wait for as long as you need me to. You are worth the world, Tori Vega." I leaned in and softly kissed her again.
