Inasa laughed as he soared through the skies, his wings spread wide as he settled in a glide. He grinned as he looked over the apartments, his sharp eyes recognizing the buildings even from afar. He tucked his wings in at a certain apartment, quickly stopping to land on a balcony on the top floor.
He toed off his shoes and stepped inside, sliding the door shut behind himself. He looked around and grinned, hearing the soft flutter of wings. "Alice! Come with me!"
The young woman smiled as she fluttered out the kitchen, her hummingbird wings fluttering quickly. "What's going on?"
He tucked his wings close as he quickly walked over, wrapping his arms around her waist. "There's a festival! They're gonna have cotton candy and games and I can win you all the best prizes! Oh! And there's gonna be fireworks! Lots of big ones too! Let's go!"
She laughed when he started carrying her out and nudged his arms, standing on her feet. "Let me get dressed, first."
He nodded rapidly and started nudging her to the bedroom. "Go get dressed! Dress warm!"
She smiled widely and batted his hands away, shutting the bedroom door to get changed in some jeans and a tank top. Carefully guiding her wings through the slits in her jacket, she zipped it up as she stepped out. Inasa was practically bouncing as she pulled on her sneakers, his shoulders flexed as he held his wings close to not knock over anything.
She hopped up and stepped out onto the balcony, sliding her phone in her pocket. "Okay, let's go."
He grinned widely and knelt down away from her, his wings spread out. "Hop on! No offense, but I fly way faster!"
She hugged his neck as she settled on the space between his wings, hooking her legs against his hips as he stood up. "I know you are. Where is this festival, Inasa?"
He held her thighs and jumped off the balcony, his wings spreading wide. "It's not far! Maybe an hour out! By the time we get there, everything will be up and running! I think they've even got a ferris wheel! And a carousel! You love those, don't you?! I like seeing you go up and down on the horses!"
She smiled widely, folding her wings in closely as he easily gained speed. "That sounds like a lot of fun! I can't wait to ride the carousel."
He nodded rapidly and felt the wind under his feathers, focusing on flying to the fairgrounds. Sure enough, within the hour, he could see the ferris wheel growing quickly in size. He circled around as he slowed down, carefully landing behind a tent.
Alice hopped off his back and grabbed his hand, inhaling deeply. "Oh, this reminds me of home. I can smell the fried food."
Inasa smiled widely, squeezing her hands. "It is an American company. Today is all yours! Show me all your favorite parts of an American festival!"
She smiled widely, pulling him to the ticket booth. "This is so cool, Inasa! Okay, first of all, they're called fairs. This is a bit of a smaller one, honestly. Oh! I want you to try an elephant ear! I see some deep fried candy too!"
Inasa laughed as he handed over the cash for a bundle of tickets. "Show me everything!"
Alice pulled on his arm, pulling him to some games set up. He grinned widely as she fluttered up, hovering beside him as they played games together. They gorged themselves on fried oreos, fried reece cups, and an elephant ear.
Inasa patted his stomach as he sat on the picnic bench, sighing loudly. "I think I ate too much."
Alice laughed as he leaned into his side. "I told you not to eat that much! Come on, let's ride the carousel and then we can ride the ferris wheel and go home."
He squeezed her shoulders and smiled widely. "That sounds great! Let's go!"
She fluttered up, holding onto his hand as he walked over to the carousel. He carefully counted their remaining tickets, grinning as he pocketed the remaining tickets. She followed him up onto the platform and giggled when he gripped her waist to lift her onto a horse.
She laughed and tugged her phone out her pocket. "Take a picture with me!"
Inasa grinned, hugging her waist as he stood beside her, one of his wings wrapping around her. "Great idea! We can remember this day forever!"
She smiled widely, holding up her phone to take a picture. She quickly pocketed it when them music started playing. Inasa tucked his wing in and rested one hand on her thigh, smiling widely as her horse started moving.
She giggled happily and swung her feet, gripping the pole tightly. Her wings fluttered quickly, forcing her to tighten her thighs on the horse to stay down. He laughed and tightened his grip on her thigh, grinning widely at her flush.
She smiled sheepishly and hummed along to the music, reaching down to hold his hand. When she went up, she could actually see over his head! Just for a moment, but it was nice regardless. Her wings could lift her up that high, but he usually hugged her before she could get too high.
She lightly pouted when the ride slowed to a stop and fluttered up, holding Inasa's hand as she landed on her feet beside him. "Ferris wheel?"
He nodded rapidly and pulled her off as she hovered. "We've got just enough tickets to ride it! It's perfect!"
She smiled and tugged on his hand. "Can we get some cotton candy first?"
He stopped and grinned at her. "Great! We can share it on the ferris wheel!"
She nodded and fluttered over to the cotton candy stand, handing over some money for a large pink stick. She smiled widely and fluttered back to his side, holding onto his arm as he walked quickly to the short line of the ferris wheel. They climbed onto the seat when an empty seat came around, their wings wrapping around their shoulders carefully.
Inasa smiled widely as he held her waist. "We can feed each other! The fireworks should be starting soon too, so this is a date! A wonderful date!"
She laughed and tugged a piece of cotton candy off, offering it to him. "This is a wonderful date!"
He grinned and ate the piece, his eyebrows shooting up. "It melts! It's soft and fluffy but it melts!"
She nodded rapidly, laughing when he quickly offered her a piece. "I know! It's so amazing!"
He nodded, taking the bite she offered as they rode the ferris wheel. They perfectly ended up at the top as the fireworks were lit, streaking into the air. She smiled widely, squeezing his arm tightly as they exploded into the air.
She rested her head on his arm and smiled widely, mumbling, "They're so pretty."
He squeezed her hand. "They are! I'm glad I found this!"
She smiled and kissed his cheek. "Thank you, Inasa."
He smiled softly and lightly kissed her, softly mumbling, "You're welcome."
She hummed happily and squeezed his hand, tilting her head up to kiss him. He returned the kiss, gently cupping her cheek in his hand. Fireworks continued to explode, the lights dancing behind their closed eyelids.
