Nyota Uhura answered the door of her quarters, "come in," she stood aside and waited for the doors to close before approaching the guest.
"Before we say anything..."
Nyota silenced him with her lips pressed against his then looked up at him, "yes?"
"I take it that I am forgiven?"
"I'm sorry about how I reacted, the Vulcans are traditional and I don't know why I acted how I did, if this is to work then we had to discuss that at some point," although his face didn't show it she knew he was smiling, "and of course, you're forgiven."
Spock moved his face closer to hers again and gently kissed her as they sat down on the chaise in the room only lit up with the house lights and warp drive sending rays of purple and blue into the room, he broke the embrace leaving his hand on her leg, "if it is to threaten our relationship again, I will not bring it up."
Uhura smiled fingering the blue gem around her neck, "I spoke to Lieutenant Charson earlier, and she said this gem was more than a gift?"
Spock blushed, "she may have been right."
"Spock, if it led you to finding me, then I don't mind, you saved my life."
"If you don't mind me correcting you, it was you who saved me."
Uhura reached for his stomach, "how is it?"
"Doctor McCoy says I will make a full recovery, he sounded rather disappointed."
"Take no notice of him," she smiled, "when do we leave the dock?"
"Tomorrow, and then our five years start. Will our previous disagreement affect our work?"
"No. Spock, I know what this gem really is and it shows how much you cared about me even after we broke up, I've loved you ever since our first mission together. I know love isn't a Vulcan concept but it's human."
"My father once told me never to regret loving someone, and as I am half human I do feel some emotions. I can love you Nyota, as I know how much you love me," he stroked her cheek with the side of his finger, "it was not my intent to put a tracking device into your necklace."
Uhura chuckled as she placed her hand over his, "I know you didn't, and again I forgive you. I'm fully aware of Vulcan reproduction but you have to give me time."
Spock nodded, "I've just found out my future self has died, I will also need time, and your comfort is enough for now."
"Okay, I'm here for you, always."
Spock held her necklace in the palm of his hand gently, "thank you Nyota."
Uhura nodded as she pressed her forehead against his with a smile, "think nothing of it. I'll see you later."
Spock tilted her head up to kiss her then stood up, "thank you, lieutenant."
Uhura watched him leave the room and fell back on her bed happily rubbing the gem between her fingers, there was no-one else like him onboard and she couldn't think of anyone she loved more, even if he didn't show her the same level of affection, she could give him her full adoration.
