Hi friends, here's chapter 9. Also I started an AU of this FF, The Bonds That Never Break. I hope you will like it as well. And I am thinking about Stebekah instead of Mabekah. What do you think? I just always felt that Elena was not good enough for both the Salvatores. Do leave me your reviews about what do you think. It might help me to work on Stebekah.
Niklaus was very happy when he woke up the next morning, with the sunlight cascading over the large king size bed. The black and red coverlets were so bright and shinning in the sunlight, the same way his face was with the smile washing over him. He finally eliminated the threat that was looming over him family. Now, all he needed to do was undagger his siblings and they can make a home here in Mystic Falls as a family. A real family. With Elijah, Finn, Rebekah, Kol, Arabelle and Nadia.
With the thought still running in his head, he reached for his mobile phone and dialed Rebekah's number. It went straight to voice mail. The same way it was happening from the night previous. Maybe she doesn't want to talk to him. But one thing he couldn't understand was what made his little sister turn against him.
He freshened up and put on his black jeans and black Henley t-shirt. Walking down the stairs, he saw that his foyer was filled with lots of boxes. Amidst them were Arabelle and Nadia, talking and scribbling in the notepad.
He caught Nadia's eyes and raised an eyebrow.
"Clothes for Father and Uncles" she said.
Mikael was no more. He must do the right thing for Nadia. But how come he breach the subject to the people in question, he did not know. But when the time comes he will.
All morning Arabelle has been running around the mansion tidying rooms for their siblings. He could understand her anxiousness. They were going to wake up the entire family, who were having a very long slumber. He was anxious himself.
As he walked down the stairs, he could see that Nadia was troubled. It only took him a minute to realize that she was only doing those works to humour Arabelle. She can be quite intimidating sometimes. So he decided to rescue her.
Luckily, before he could breach the subject, Arabelle did. "Where are you going this early in the morning?" she asked with something between a frown and scowl. That clearly meant she expected him to help her moving things. Oh, no way in hell.
"To bring back our family" he said.
Arabelle instantly brightened. He could see that innocent Arabelle, when they were human, coming back to the surface. He almost felt guilty. After they were turned by their parents, for some reasons, Arabelle felt she had to grow up, she had to keep the family safe. But now that the main threat has been eliminated, she was turning to her old ways. Young, loving, caring, innocent, and much more that was buried under her serious mask. He would do anything to keep her like this.
"Would you like to accompany me, poppet?" he asked Nadia.
"Yes, please" she said relieved and flashed out the door, before Arabelle could say anything.
Niklaus chuckled and went past Arabelle, giving her a peck on her cheek. Nadia was already in the car, waiting for him.
On the road, Niklaus tried to call Rebekah again, but like before, it went straight to voicemail. "Rebekah, where are you? Pick up the phone, darling. Daddy's dead. It's time for a family reunion." He said.
As soon as he ended the call, Nadia asked, "What's wrong?"
"Rebekah is not answering the call" he said.
Nadia frowned.
"And I am having a bad feeling about all this"
They reached their destination soon enough. Niklaus made his way, with Nadia trailing behind, when his phone ringed. He smirked when he saw the caller ID. "Stefan. Miss me already?"
"I'm just calling to thank you for my freedom." Stefan said.
"I like to believe I'm a man of my word. More or less." He said.
"The thing is, it came at too high of a price. You took everything from me, Klaus." Stefan replied.
Something was up, he could feel it. "Let bygones be bygones. Trust me, resentment gets old."
"You know what never gets old?" Stefan asked.
Something was definitely up.
"Revenge" Stefan said after a pause.
That doesn't sound good. At all. Reaching the truck container, where he kept his family daggered, he opened it. But it was empty. He could hear that Nadia was gasping. "No!"
He turned around to see Nadia's eyes filled with unshed tears. So was his.
"What's the matter, Klaus? Missing something?" Stefan asked. He could hear that contentment of having someone's heart in Stefan's voice.
"What are you doing?" Niklaus asked, barely containing his rage.
"I'm just enjoying my freedom." Stefan replied.
"I will kill you and every one you've ever met." Niklaus threatened.
"You do that and you'll never see your family again." Stefan said, no doubt smirking at Niklaus' predicament. "I wonder, Klaus." He continued, "As someone who's been one step ahead for 1,000 years. Were you prepared for this?"
Arabelle saw red, the moment she heard what happened from Nadia. They crossed the limit by taking the coffins. And she would do anything to get them back.
She did the first thing she needed to do. She asked Niklaus and Nadia to return home. Then she went to her room, opened her bedside table's drawer and took out a candle. Lighting the candle, she laid down the bed and muttered the spell.
Arabelle opened her eyes and hoped out of the bed. With a last glance at her body that was lying still she took out to the woods.
"Ayanna" she called out.
Within seconds Ayanna arrived there with Quetsiyah and Alkmene. They all looked tense and she knew immediately that they knew what happened.
"Where shall I find them?" Arabelle asked immediately. She has no time for beating around the bush.
"They have been kept in the old witch's house by the younger Salvatore and our young descendent." Alkmene said.
"But you can't see them" Quetsiyah said.
"What?!" Arabelle almost shrieked.
"They're shielded by the witches of Rocque bloodline. But we can link our powers to remove shield and get the coffins out of there" Ayanna said.
"Is there anyone in the witch's house?" Arabelle asked.
"The Salvatore" Sheila's voice rang as she appeared beside Ayanna. "I hope you won't hurt my Bonnie"
"I won't, I promise" Arabelle said.
"Rebekah was not there" Sheila said, "there were five coffins but one was empty. I don't know where they were keeping her"
Arabelle was silent for a moment, thinking about everything she just learnt. She must get Stefan out of the witch's house, also must learn where Rebekah's body was kept, also ensure the safety of her family. A plan began to form in her mind. "I will come to the witch's house once Stefan leaves. Wait for me with the others." Arabelle said to Ayanna, hugged her and left the place after saying a quick bye.
She reached home soon, thankfully before Niklaus and Nadia reached the foyer. Judging by their facial expression, she could see that they were worried. Which was just an understatement.
She reached her room and hopped back into her body. Now, onto the plan.
Arabelle raced down the stairs and went straight to the living room, knowing full well that Niklaus and Nadia were there.
Niklaus was pouring three glasses of scotch, as she sat on the couch. "I failed, Belle" Niklaus' defeated voice reached her ears. It was very low, only the fact that she was a vampire helped her pick up the words.
"Why would you say such words, Niklaus?" Arabelle asked.
He brought the glasses and handed one to Arabelle and another to Nadia. "I failed to save our family. Now I don't know where they are"
"Niklaus," Arabelle took his hand in hers, "You didn't fail anyone. I will bring them back. Nadia will help me. We will get them back before night falls, I promise"
Arabelle drowned the scotch, "I know just the thing to be done"
She signalled Nadia to follow her and nodded toward Niklaus. Walking out of the mansion, she said, "Wait for my text, once you receive it, you will know what to do"
Nadia nodded.
Arabelle took her phone out of her pocket and dialled. "Tyler" she said, "I want you to do something for me"
As soon as she finished the call she took out in vampire speed to her destination. Gilbert house. She heard only two voices. Damon and Elena. Her blood boiled.
"What makes you think I'm not ok?" Damon asked.
"Well, you're a day drunk. It's not exactly your most attractive look." Elena said
"Oh. What is my most attractive look?" Damon asked.
They were flirting. The man who was destined to be her soul mate was flirting with the woman who was in love with his brother. Wonderful, she thought.
Arabelle tuned out rest of their conversation. She had had enough for one day. She waited as she hid in a well secluded spot outside the Gilbert house. Moments later Jeremy Gilbert entered the house. Then Tyler.
Then the awaited argument broke out. Then, Tyler left the house.
Arabelle flashed out toward the house. She stood in the portico as she was not invited in. She stood just outside the door, dressed completely in black, arms crossed just below her breasts, with a smirk plastered on her lips. "Hello Damon"
"Arabelle" he said, obviously not interested.
But her irritation should not be brought in. Her family was in stake. "I believe that you know that your brother stole from mine"
"Whatever do you mean?" Damon asked, "He skipped town the moment he saved Klaus"
"Oh no, he called my brother earlier to inform him of his thievery" Arabelle said, not showing any emotions, "Now, I would find him and convince him to return what was ours before I kill him, if I were you"
"I don't know where he is" Damon said.
"A witch in your little Scooby gang knows of his whereabouts" Arabelle said.
"If you know this much, why don't you go find yourself?" Damon asked, obviously irritated by this conversation.
"Oh I can do that. With the connections I have, I can kill your brother with the help of my witch friends, not to mention European witch clans that are under Nadia's reign. It's not that difficult. But I am giving you a chance to save your brother. It is up to you to take it or leave it" She said.
Without much of a goodbye, Damon flashed out of the house.
Arabelle looked past Elena's shoulder at Jeremy and compelled him, "Jeremy, would you step out of your house for a moment?"
Jeremy walked out of the door in a trance.
"Now, I want you to remove your ring"
He did.
"I want you to walk straight to the middle of the road and stand still"
He did.
"What are you doing?" Elena yelled at her.
But you should never mess with the Original family.
Jeremy stood still as one of the hybrids drove the car straight toward him at a high speed. It was just a hair breath before he was hit. And Alaric has to ruin it. No worries.
Arabelle grimaced. "No worries. Now call your wonderful boyfriend before I kill your brother and the history teacher without the ring." She said to Elena.
"I don't know where he keeps the others. But I will tell you where Rebekah is if you leave my brother and Alaric alone." Elena bargained.
"Once you give me the location of my sister's whereabouts, I will compel your brother to leave the town, myself. I give you my word" Arabelle said.
"What if you go back on your word?" Elena asked.
"We are not like you and your precious friends, doppelganger." Arabelle said, "Once we give our word we don't back stab"
Elena looked down her feet. "Rebekah was daggered and kept at the basement of Salvatore boarding house"
"Thank you" Arabelle said. And truer to her words she compelled the Gilbert boy to leave town. But that doesn't mean she was not going to keep tabs on him. He might prove useful in the future.
The moment she left the Gilbert's she sent a quick text to Nadia.
Rebekah – daggered – Salvatore's – basement.—A
