'Cross' Communication
Dr. Director watches her superiors leave chambers. She couldn't believe Chairman Kalmar and SSC Chairman Franklin's would even hint at such an order—leak the Stoppables' location, where the Monkey Masers would come out of hiding and handle a problem they couldn't.
She knew she couldn't fulfill this directive through her usual snitches. Too many things could go wrong, such as wires getting crossed, they could double-cross Global Justice. If so, Team Possible may never receive her warning in time.
Maybe she'd been in the intelligence community too long. She'd sacrifice those parents for the greater good without an ounce of guilt. And yet, she couldn't get that little girl's face from her head. She realized, she could only save her one way, but not without indirectly incriminating herself. Alas, it was the only way she could warn her Junior Agents.
Crimson Fox dreaded ever taking this assignment. He'd never took so many unnecessary chances. He really understood why so many colleagues failed to infiltrated HenchCo. Their bosses impose too many 'safeguards' on their undercover operations, painting bigger targets on their agents' backs, indirectly making it easier for their enemies to uncover and kill undercover agents.
He was lucky. Dr. Director recognized the shortcomings in G.J.'s rulebook governing undercover ops, realizing various officials added these regulations within the last 5-years, about the same time, powerful enemies started to infiltrate Global Justice.
She loathed to admit. Their enemies had become so entrenched among their ranks. She no longer knew who she could trust. Hence, she secretly re-evaluated each regulation, discarding most, before imposing a single 'safeguard,' stipulating the condition upon which he could accept or refuse his current mission.
Crimson Fox reluctantly agreed unto her terms. Hence, she entrusted him with a G.J. satellite phone, insisting he keep it close, where she could contact him or he could contact her, if necessary. Little did he realize how much danger a simple phone would put him in.
He'd long dreaded the day this phone rang, wondering, 'Would he be alone? Would other HenchCo associates be present? Could he talk his way out of trouble? If not, how could he rectify this situation and salvage his cover and op?'
He'd considered maybe letting it ring, until his bosses hung up. Alas, he knew he couldn't ignore Dr. Director. The woman didn't take rejection well. It'd raise too many questions in her mind. Who knows how she'd react or think. Maybe he betrayed them? Joined Drakken's hordes? Dr. Director could blow his cover, letting Drakken and Shego handle a traitor? She could also send in the cavalry, thinking he was in trouble, blowing this op completely.
The day he'd long dreaded finally came to pass. Luckily, it wasn't a worse-case scenario. He was alone in his bedroom inside the lair. His phone dings, not rings. Crimson Fox was thankful it was only a text message and not a phone call. A ringing phone would draw too much unwanted attention.
He reluctantly sinks unto his knees, brushes aside the rug by his bedside, and pries up a floor plank. His test message displaying a message from 'Maggie Sullivan,' Dr. Director code name when contacting him inside the field.
Crimson Fox reads his boss' urgent text, expecting many things, like last-minute instructions altering his mission parameters, but never expecting what he'd received, "What is Gama Rose's phone number?" He couldn't believe she'd jeopardize his mission and life for something so asinine.
Initially, he considers discarding his phone completely, thinking someone must be onto him and had somehow hacked G.J.'s carrier wave security protocols. This possibility alone rattles his core, putting his life in graver mortal jeopardy.
Her deviant questions perplexed him, on so many levels. Alas, he knew he couldn't refuse to supply this information. Whether his boss or an imposture, they could too easily expose his cover. And he was safe as long as useful. He texts her back, "555-376-6575". He closes his phone, puts it back inside its hiding place, and snaps his plank back into place, spreading his rug over his secret alcove.
Her cell phone rang at the most inopportune time. Gama Rose had only just returned from South Island. She still hadn't rinsed all the crud from her hair. She jumps outside the bathtub grabbing her cell. The Caller-ID read, 'Restricted number'. She seldom answered such calls. And yet, something, maybe fate, prompted her to answer this one, "Hello".
"Gama Rose," Dr. Director greets her straight off.
Gama Rose immediately recognized the head of G.J.'s voice snapping, "How'd you get my number?"
"Believe me, it wasn't easy". Dr. Director condescends.
"Well, Director, you found me and now have 30-second, before I go dark. So, you'd best state what on your mind".
"Shego's alive," Dr. Director hits hard and fast.
"Bull," Gama Rose retorts. "I saw her die!"
"No, you saw what Dark Starr wanted you to see," Dr. Director plants doubt in the prideful assassin's mind. "Why else would she black out the entire island, before detonating the hut?"
Gama Rose didn't speak but didn't hang up, either, though their call was well-past her 30-second deadline. Dr. Director deduces, that can only mean she hand the jilted assassin's undivided attention.
Even Gama Rose had to admit. This fed raised a logical question, one, even she didn't consider. She regains her composure, at least enough to ask, "Why are you passing along this news? To me?"
"I know your boss," Dr. Director snickers, alleging she may be a fed. She played both sides, like her brother, Gemini.
Gama Rose considers this revelation. She always figured, there were no honest feds. Even feds have their angles, a reason why they do what they do, no matter how altruistic they may sound. But, this was more than she could bear rasping, "You know Arlin Helion?"
Dr. Director glows with accomplishment. She'd learnt her brother's most secretive alias yet. Arlin Helion. Hegoverned Necros with an iron fist. She couldn't chance. Gemini could be in the room. A simple glance could blow her ruse.
Dr. Director shifts gears clarifying what she meant, "I don't personally know Arlin Helion. I, however, know his type. They're abrasive, unyielding, usually very insecure. Their brutality covering their own inadequacies. Tell me," she drives home her point, "how's he react over Shego's death?"
Gama Rose shivers. Few people scared her. He did. Those eyes. "He nearly killed me, why?"
Dr. Director knew her brother. He may change names and faces. He couldn't change nature so easily. An associate fails an assignment, Gemini usually fed them unto the sharks—seeing she was still alive and breathing, he'd chosen option two.
"Let me guess," she drives home her point by revealing what the assassin was so reluctant to discuss with a fed, "he gave you a special assignment. A test, if you will, to prove your loyalty, bring in your sister, alive or dead, and you live. Fail and you both perish. Am I correct, Gama Rose?"
The assassin's own silence conveyed her growing uncertainty loud and clear.
"I thought so," Dr. Director baits her into acting. "Well, here's your chance at redemption Gama Rose".
"Redemption?" Gama Rose condescends. "What would a fed know about redemption?"
"More than you might think," Dr. Director didn't offer anything else.
She'd searched everywhere, exhausted every resource, and she'd still come up empty-handed. Her deadline was fast approach. Either she delivered her sister or Mr. Helion would issue her termination orders. Longtime allies would become her executioners. She couldn't fight them all and survive long.
"And why would a fed help me?" She couldn't pass up a potential source.
"I have my own reasons," Dr. Director dodges her question.
"Like what?" Gama Rose wouldn't let this pass.
"G.J. wants the young girl. Your sister wants Shego. Your boss wants your sister. And only she can prove Shego's still alive, and knows where she hid the plasma wielder. Why else would she put on such an elaborate show back there on the island?"
"I don't know," Gama Rose entertains what this fed had to say.
"I'll tell you why," Dr. Director lays out Trinity Rose's deception. "Your boss would blame you over losing his prize possession, Shego. Death's shadow would hang over your head. You'd live everyday in fear, distracted thinking, today may be the day, when my boss retaliates against me, taking his vengeance. You'd say or do anything to get back into his good graces.
Trinity Rose, meanwhile, still has your boss' prize. She can deliver Shego into Grimmorea's waiting hands and collect her bounty. And no one can stop her. She can easily, wait until you do something to earn your boss' trust again, simply foil your efforts. Your boss will eliminate you. Trinity Rose doesn't even have to lift a finger. Her problem will be solved in house".
Gama Rose grit her teeth, never so peeved over how easily she'd been played, "Sister or not, no one makes me look like a fool! She'll pay! And pay dearly!"
"Why's this young girl so important to Shego?"
"Bait," Dr. Director deadpans. "Shego doesn't believe Kim Possible, Her Princess, is dead".
"Well, is she?"
"Positively," Dr. Director leaves no doubts. "We have her body. And three M.E.'s identified her remains through dental imprints and bone marrow. As I said, your sister set up that little show back on the island simply to distract you and your boss. Redeem yourself and we both get what we want".
"Where's the address?"
"It's coming across your phone now," Dr. Director texts the information.
Gama Rose receives the text. She memorizes the address, then removes her phone's battery, and drops her phone down a nearby sewer. If they trace, let the feds trace its location. She disappears.
Life, Death, and Redemption
Gama Rose screeches up outside the Stopables' rented home. Her sister favored electronic gizmos over human back-up and facing her enemies head-on. Well, she'd come prepared this time. She'd force her baby sister into the open.
Her people laid siege unto the police station, cut all landlines, and jammed every wireless com signal going into or outside Middleton. The city was cut off. The mayor couldn't call in reinforcements. She'd even set up 30-blackades throughout the neighborhood.
She hired muscle, street thugs mostly, boy and girls, who didn't know who she was, nor did they really care. They only cared about getting paid. Gama Rose armed these delinquents with instructions to set up and maintain checkpoints along strategic locations within the neighborhood. Outside that, they could do whatever else their other members wanted.
She couldn't chance, one the trouble started, neighbors could get brave and join in resistance against them. Hence, Gama Rose assigned EOD specialists to rig various homes roundabout their neighborhood. No one knew exactly what homes were or were not rigged.
Her people issued each resident the same warning, 'Leave your homes for any reason, without Gama Rose's authorization, then kaboom, the violator, their family, and several of their neighbors would pay the ultimate price'.
She didn't stop there. Gama Rose acquired two MQ-9 Reapers. Her drone pilots offered air support, while her other teams secured their posts. If all else failed, she could level this whole neighborhood with two AGM-114 Hellfire Missiles, ensuring her sister doesn't escape this trap.
Gama Rose preens about the neighborhood, waiting as the rest of her forces erect a trench around the Stoppable residence. She waits 30-minutes before assuming full authority and initiating this siege, "Dark Star, come out, come out, wherever you are!"
As if she didn't know. Her voice reverberated around the whole neighborhood.
Inside the home.
Dean, Pearl, and Hanna had just sat down for lunch. They didn't have any idea what was really going on outside, until now. All three hear Gama Rose's demands. Neither had an idea what she meant. Nor had they ever heard of any Dark Star.
And she wouldn't shut up. Gama Rose kept on issuing the same demand. "What in the world," Pearl glances towards the living room window.
"I don't know," Dean shrugs with mutual doubt.
"Can't you find out something, for our daughter's sake," Peal implores her husband.
He didn't want to but sensed impending danger. "Fine," he sighs with growing frustration. What's the world coming to when a man can't sit down and enjoy a meal inside his own home. He walks over and barely parts the living room window.
Outside. Gama Rose grew impatient. She'd waited nearly 2-mintues. Her sister should have shown herself by now, but hadn't. She cocks her assault rifle taking aim.
"Well, Daddy, what do you see?"
Dean never got the chance to respond. Automatic gunfire spoke for him. Various caliber rounds drill the home's exterior wall and front door, finally shattering the living room window. His body, sadly, takes multiple rounds, jerking more violently and groaning louder with each hit, until hitting the ground and exhaling his last mortal breath.
"Daddy!" Hanna screams, reacting on instinct. She jumps from her seat and starts towards him.
Pearl knew he was dead. She grabs her daughter and drags the little one kicking and screaming back towards the kitchen. She knew, Dean believed the kitchen was the heart of a home. He reinforced its walls. They'd shield them better than anywhere else inside her home.
Gama Rose knew she'd killed someone inside. She suspects the worst, fearing the girl was dead. Her sister stole her prize back on the island? Why shouldn't she return the favor here? IFR trace two living signatures making their ways towards the kitchen. She redirects her gunfire towards their location.
Various caliber rounds riddled the dining room walls and cabinets with bullet holes. Stray rounds zipping past various parts of the mother and daughter's physical anatomy. Pearl realized, whoever was out there, they'd purposely targeted them.
She shields her daughter with her own body, finally making it inside the kitchen. Her bravery came with a heavy cost. Her baby was alive. Pearl, however, wasn't so lucky. She'd obtained multiple GSWs. She ignores her own growing pain, cradling her terrified child.
"Kim," Annie relays a mission update, "the Stoppables are under attack".
"Damn, she must've gotten here before us. Scan the interior".
Annie does, "There's one dead, male, I'd say, Dean Stoppable".
"What about Pearl and Hanna?"
"Pearl's alive, but judging by the automatic gunfire shredding her home and her fluctuating life signs, I'd say, she's severely wounded. Hanna's alive and seems to be unharmed".
"Annie, release the synthodrones..."
"Wait, Dr. D's helping us...against my replacement?" Shego recoils over his unmitigated gall.
"Not, exactly," Kim grins mischievously.
Shego reads between the lines. She knew her 'partner' did something. And whatever she'd done, Gama Rose will blame Drakken. Even Shego had to admit. He'd betrayed her trust in the worst possible way. And, yes, she wanted to beat him senseless, leaving 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-degree burns all over his body. She couldn't explain it. But, she didn't' want him dead.
"What'd you do, Princess?" She inquires how much trouble Drakken would reap over Princess' actions.
Kim discerns her concern over Drakken's well-being. "I simply walked into his lair..."
"...as Gama Rose..."
"Who else?" Kim shrugs her shoulders with a sinister smirk, "I asked for synthodrones to avenge you. He didn't argue with his new partner".
Shego cuts her eyes. Piercing green infernos glaring into hers.
"Don't worry, Shego. He'll learn you're alive soon enough".
Shego rolls her eyes. Just knowing wasn't enough. She wanted him alive and squirming, every waking moment worry how she'd repay his betrayal. She couldn't get that satisfaction if he was dead.
"You may not believe me. I know something about betrayal, too, Shego. First, Ron betrays my trust by kissing another woman right in front of me. Dr. Director only capitalizes his betrayal by lying about her involvement in starting Necros. The very organization now trying to kill me".
Shego crosses her arms defiantly. She rolls her eyes, sighing heavily.
Kim discerns, her reluctant partner didn't care about who betrayed her or why they betrayed her. She was so wrapped up in her own woes. She couldn't see the parallels in their experiences. Kim switches gears, giving her a new reason for playing along with her plan.
"Maybe you'll appreciate this better," Kim sneers malefically. "Making your grand debut according to my plan will serve multiple purposes. First, it'll prove to Drakken, you're better than this poser he recruited to replace you.
Second, Gama Rose already collected her bounty for killing you. Can you imagine her boss' reaction when you show back up alive again? He'll lose faith in her skills. Plus, her longtime associates will be more convinced than ever she betrayed them, possibly even joined us. Third, Drakken will be easier to manipulate, this way".
Shego knew her conniving partner. She'd been her frenemy long enough. She'd assume the most dangerous mission role, leaving her to rescue the mother and daughter trapped inside the house. Shego wouldn't have this.
"Kim," she uses argument against her, "you get inside and rescue the child and her brother. They won't recognize or trust me enough to leave without a little persuasion".
Kim saw through her ploy. Alas, she couldn't refute her claim. Shego could be a little heavy handed sometimes. Hanna's been through enough. "Be careful, Shego," she yields under the voice of reason. "There are over fifteen armed assailants roundabout this house".
"And don't forget the MQ-9 Reaper drone circling high above and carrying 2 AGM-114 Hellfire Missiles," Annie bring a greater overlooked threat unto their attention.
Twist of Fate
Annie opens the driver's side door under stealth mode. Kim leaps below free-falling nearly 20 feet. She powers up forming a cerulean fireball. She releases the projectile blasting a hole through the roof. Her aura grows darker spreading head to toe. Kim sinks into the attic, through the sub-floor, and lands inside the master bedroom.
"She's inside," Gama Rose shouts. Her team steps up their assault. Automatic rounds shredded the homes lowest floor with increasing devastation.
Shego knew, Kim and the Stoppables would never make it out alive under such firepower. She had to even the odds somehow. "Annie, set the synthodrones roundabout the house, and arm the ultrasonic nauseator in the VLF range resonating at 30 kHz". An invisible energy dome drops over the property.
Annie fires the acoustic weapon at full strength. Its wave bounces off amplified by the dome's walls.
Gama Rose learnt since their last encounter. Her sister beat her using a power suit. She wore one, too, this time. She raises its acoustic shield insulating herself. Her troops weren't so lucky. Every woman and man grab their ears, staggering back and forth, disoriented by this weapon, but eventually drops unto their knees and keels over, cursing their opponent under every mortal breath.
Annie disengages the acoustic weapon. Mission parameters didn't permit harming these people.
Gama Rose's AI detects the danger passed. Her suit's AI drops her shields.
Shego drops below shimmering into full view.
"You?" Gama Rose takes two steps back, both shocked and outraged. "Where's my sister?"
"Inside," Shego points over her shoulder.
"She lied to me! Grimmorea didn't want you!"
"Nah, I was a double-agent," Shego winks.
"What? She can't face me now?"
"Oh, no, you have it all wrong. She tested your skills back on the island. And you failed miserably. In fact, she feels you're beneath her skills. I'm relegated to dealing with inferior opponents," she ignites her plasma head to toe.
"Inferior!" No one had ever spoken unto her so condescendingly. Her temper explodes, Gama Rose attacks with guns blazing.
Kim ignores the gunshots outside the home. She makes her way around the bed and discovers Pearl Stoppable leaning against her bed, shot multiple times and a gaping hole perforating her chest. Hanna hugged her Mama's neck tightly sobbing with her head laid over her shoulder.
Her lungs razzed with exertion. Each breath becomes more ragged. Blood slowly seeped into her air passages. And she couldn't clear them fast enough. Pearl senses someone enter the room and turns her head gasping in shock. "Kim? You're alive?"
"It's me, Mama Stoppable," she grasps the ailing woman's left hand reassuringly.
"She's yours. Take Hanna and leave, while you both still can".
"What about you?"
Hanna glared between her Mama and brother's girlfriend. Each tear echoed Kim inquiry.
"I'm dying," Pearl speak candidly. "No amount of medical aid can save me now. I should've listened and never left your safety. Dean didn't want to leave but relented when I insisted. Don't let my baby die over my stubbornness. Get her out of here alive. She's yours now, Kimmie".
Kim perceives this dying woman's last request, "Are you asking me to adopt Hanna as mine, Mama Stoppable?"
Pearl coughs sharply spewing blood everywhere. Kim nor Hanna budged an inch. Pearl grasps her daughter's right hand joining hers with Kim's.
Kim felt like someone had mercilessly ripped out her heart and tromped it underfoot. Tears stream down both cheeks. And she couldn't stop their abundance. "I'll be her Mama, if she'll have me, Mama Stoppable. I give you my word".
Pearl smiles, stroking her daughter's tear-stained cheeks one last time. "Treat her good, Little One. She's..." Her outstretched arm drops. Pearl exhales her last mortal breath and slumps over dead in the younger redhead's arms..
Back outside. Shego's plasmatic aura shielded her body. Automatic rounds dissolve into thin air.
All guards down and barfing their guts out, Gama Rose casts aside her assault useless rifle drawing a sword. Her adversary's shield didn't falter. Its soaring temperatures could melt her katana like butter and easily induce 2nd and 3rd degree burns with a simple touch. She needed a edge spreading her shield over her entire body and shield. It wouldn't last long. She'd still haft to hit hard and fast.
Shego stood motionless, like an immovable mountain, daring her adversary's worst. Her rage spiked and aura grew darker with her opponent's closing proximity.
Gama Rose moves faster than expected. She delivers a sharp jab into the stomach.
Shego soars back impacting a giant oak. Her aura was so hot. Flames spread up the tree bark within mere seconds. Leaves and limbs crackle lively being slowly consumed by plasmatic flames.
Gama Rose returns the favor. She stood like a stone statue. Sword drawn, eyes piercing, and ears sharp, awaiting her opponent's next move.
Shego discerns her intentions and wouldn't disappoint. She charges straight ahead. Palms lit and her screaming like a wounded banshee. Her voice amped by closing proximity.
Gama Rose flinches. Her muscles involuntarily flexes as she unconsciously anticipates her rival's next move and how to counter it safely.
Shego notices this slight change. She changes tactics flipping several times.
Gama Rose perceives her open striking parallel with her lower abdomen.
Shego somersaults over her head barely missing getting eviscerated. She lands on her hands split-kicking her rival brutally in the lower back.
Gama Rose loses her footing and tumbles head over foot several times. She barely staggers back onto her feet. A 12-inch tranquilizer dart impacts her right thigh. She whips her head around glaring up.
A vibrant blue and black 2016 Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo shimmers into open view. "Shego, let's go," Kim bids her new partner, as Trinity Rose, a.k.a. Dark Starr.
Annie opens the passenger door. Shego leaps into the air climbing inside.
Hanna climbs into and curls up in Shego's lap, still sobbing over having witnessed both parents get brutally murdered before her own eyes.
Shego didn't see the parents and reads the little girl's tears to mean, "They...?" She couldn't repeat the rest. It was just too depressing to contemplate.
"Didn't make it, Shego," Kim deadpans, not wishing to go into details. It'd only upset the little one worse. She felt strange enough already. Rarely does a woman become a Mama overnight by such a bizarre, tragic twist of fate.
Gama Rose collapses over her legs going numb. Sheer willpower couldn't hold her up any longer. An animated fury grips her soul seeing her sister escaping yet again.
Annie closes the passenger door and barely activates her shields in time.
"Nice going." Gama Rose crawls over the masticated lawn grasping her M27-IAR assault rifle. Hers loaded with Armatac dual-capacity drum magazine. Gama Rose targets the sports car dead center firing on full auto. She didn't give up firing until her rifle clicked empty. 150 rounds hammer its shields without a single penetration. The sports car disappears far into the open expanse.
Two team members recover enough staggering onto their feet. Both could hear police sirens wailing with closing proximity, and grab their leader dragging her unto her feet. She props her arm around their shoulders limping away and leaving the rest.
Crimson Fury
Gemini's phone rang well past midnight. He rolls over in bed snatching it up, "Yea!"
"Boss, she failed".
Gemini recognized his operative's voice. He'd been undercover inside G.J. nearly 10-years. "What's new, Agent Delta?"
"This," Delta transmits the captured video outside the Stoppables' house.
Gemini listens unto the video start to finish. Gama Rose curses her departing sister, 'Nice going'. She meant it sarcastically, but Gemini interprets it as an open admission of guilt. He hangs up dialing her cell immediately. He wanted answers now.
Gama Rose eventually recovered her mobility enough. She could easily move around again on her own. She leaves her team behind seeking an alternative dwelling. She'd no sooner walks inside. Her cell rings displaying Arlin Helion, her boss' Caller-ID. She slips unto her knees, places her phone on the ahead, and accepts his call. Gemini's holographic Arlin Helion avatar appear in the same room. "Master," she extols, pressing her forehead into the floor.
"Why do you honor me with your lips, but betray me with the same breath, Miss Rose?" Arlin snarls with deep betrayal.
Him simply calling her 'Miss Rose' was bad enough. He only did this when most displeased. But, the added verb, Betray, only intensified his threat and her worries. "Betray, Master," she denies whatever he may be blaming her for. "I'd never…"
"Save your lies, Miss Rose," he shushes her defense. "I have your confession on tape".
"Confession, Master? On tape?" She squeaks, avoiding eye contact with the tiny screen. She may be Necros' top assassin. They had others, young and eager to take her spot.
Gemini produces and inserts a Micro-SD card into his Tablet-PC's slot. "Here we go," he scrolls through its data files selecting the video file. A video opens on screen replaying her fight outside the Stoppables. She didn't see anything incriminating. And he could tell. Gemini rewinds the clip replaying the last 10-seconds. 'Nice going,' she hears herself gripe.
Only then did she realize how he must've misinterpreted what she'd said. "Master, I can explain..."
"I bet you can, Miss Rose. You're quite gifted at lying. It comes with the job. The problem arises when you start lying unto your own people".
"Master, I'm not in league with them. I was reproving myself over being beaten so easily". She was sure he'd understand, maybe even sternly punish her, but ultimate forgive her grievous transgression.
"Oh, I don't blame you".
She relaxes a bit.
"You were easily beaten". He agrees, building her false security, only to crush it, "Too easily, if you ask my opinion".
"What are you saying, Master?" She sobs with reverberating terror.
"Just this," Gemini reads betrayal in every breath. "First, you failed to eliminate Possible".
"I did, on the road..."
"No, you didn't," he refutes yet another lie. "Colonel Bradford and his team did. You should study their example. Those men and women exemplify true loyalty. They died to achieve their assignment. What'd you do? Nothing!"
His pointed accusation renders her speechless. For once, she didn't have the answer. She knew she'd been set up, but was clueless how to convince her paranoid boss.
Her aberrant silence only convinces him more. "I guess the old saying is true. Blood is thicker than water. And that's why you failed to deliver my prize. It wasn't you couldn't. You betrayed us by joining switching sides and joining Grimmorea. Hell, Shego was a member of her organization. How could you deliver her?"
"Master. I..."
His avatar leans in closer, face-to-face, for dramatic affect chiding, "Run, Miss Rose, run. And don't stop. My people are coming for you. There's a $10 million bounty on your head. No one betrays Arlin Helion, personally, and especially not Necros professionally".
Her device goes dark seconds later. She casts aside the device, knowing what came next. A piercing wail permeates the area, before the device detonates. The concussive blast decimates her tiny studio apartment. Flames sweep through its interior devouring everything along its path spewing out every window. Various types of debris rains down littering the streets roundabout the apartment complex.
Gama Rose rises up dusting off her clothes. He'd made his point known loud and clear. She was on her own. She fades into the night planning retribution. Trinity Rose set her up. Her own sister.
Me And Mine
Kim couldn't head straight home. She had one last stop. A family reunion was long overdue. And she wanted to deliver the horrible news in person. She flew straight to Japan under the radar. She lands just on Mount Yamanouchi's base.
"Let's go, Little One," she grasps Hanna's right hand.
"Where we going, Mama," the little girl yawns just waking up.
Kim gasps with teary-eyes, barely able to contain her own emotions. She realized, Hanna hadn't fully accepted her parents' deaths. Maybe she dismissed the whole ordeal as a bad dream.
Hanna glances up, noticing Kim, not her Mama or Daddy. Kim's tears tell her everything she needs to hear. "It wasn't a bad dream. Mommy and Daddy are dead," she breaks down sobbing again, heavier than last night even.
Kim picks her up cradling the bawling little girl against her right shoulder, and starts their slow trek towards Yamanouchi. She already knew the way by heart.
Shego wasn't far behind, but kept uncharacteristically quiet, not wishing to upset the little one any worse than she already was.
They reach the school around daybreak. "Halt, who goes there?" A male guard stops them.
"Trinity Rose, a.k.a. Dark Starr," she introduces her cover. She didn't want everyone knowing the truth. Kim Possible is Trinity Rose. "I seek an audience with Master Sensei concerning the Monkey Master. I'm here with his baby sister, Hanna Elaine Stoppable".
"Please wait, I'll see what Master Sensei says," the head guard dispatches a messenger. He needed instructions before he could allow her to proceed any further.
Kim and Hanna's wait proved friendly than Kim anticipated. She figured, Ron's ninja pals would try to question an uninvited interloper. But, no one tried anything, keeping their spears and bows locked up, their eyes marking her every move.
It didn't' take long. "You may enter," the same authoritative voice beckons her inside. The school's gates creak open upon their rusty hinges.
"Stay close, and don't deviate," she advises her companion.
"I won't, Princess. Don't worry". Shego stays close.
Kim leads them inside the grounds. Students and teachers lined the street, both sides. Various weapons drawn and ready to strike, if given justifiable cause. She maintains the same slow and steady pace until standing outside Master Sensei's personal quarters.
He greets them standing near the steps, "What can I do for you Ladies?"
"We're unarmed," she assures the ninja master. Kim bows in respect requesting, "My companion and I humbly request a private audience with you and the Monkey Master, Master Sensei".
Master Sensei noted how she cradled the child. Even how Hanna snuggled into her arms crying herself back to sleep. He felt no immediate threat. "Very well," he grants permission. "You have your audience. 20-minutes, then you leave, if told to do so".
"Agreed," Kim speaks for her band.
An elder lady moves towards them. She reaches out.
Kim slaps away her hand imperiling, "Touch her and you die, Old Woman".
"But, she's..." The elder woman goes to protest.
"...mine," Kim asserts her claim. "Her mother died in my arms. I swore a blood oath. I'd never leave her side. She goes with me. If the Monkey Master deems me unfit, he'll have to kill me himself to take her from my arms".
"Leave her alone. For now," Master Sensei snaps in Japanese.
My Daughter, My Blood
Kim waltzes past the elder woman and up the stairs stopping parallel the ninja master.
"This way," Master Sensei leads them unto his office. Two guards stood outside and mark their every move. One guard slides open his door stepping aside. Master Sensei eases inside sitting seiza style.
"What do you want, Woman?" Ron steps from the shadows behind Master Sensei.
"I have unsettling news for you, Monkey Master".
He notices his sister's ruffled dress, matted hair, reddish cheeks, and sniffling. Ron easily discerns her news wasn't good. And, whatever she had to reveal, Hanna witnessed everything. "What news do you have?"
"First, you must accept something else. If not, you'd never believe the rest. And those doubts would only force us into mortal combat against one another. Win or lose, we'd all still lose, especially this Little One. And she's already lost enough, don't you agree?"
He'd dealt inside the villain community long enough. Honest people speak what they mean. Villains and those with something to hide always double-talk trying deceiving you into believing whatever you want most. He takes her double-talk as a veiled threat.
"Lotus Blade," he accepts her challenge.
He, then, turns towards his rival, "What must I learn?"
"Lotus Bloom," she matches his theatrics. The ancient blade materializes in her outstretched hand.
Master Sensei leaps onto his feet slowly backing away with his blonde pupil. Each eyeing her with growing curiosity.
"What the hell's going on here?" Ron demands, glowing royal blue. "First, you show up carrying my baby sister. Second, you come here demanding an audience with Master Sensei and myself alone. Now, you call Kim's magical blade. How can you do this?"
"Shego," Kim calls her companion.
The green woman steps closer. Kim hands over her little one. Shego cradles the sniffling little girl in her arms.
"Simple, Honey Bear".
Ron eyes grow wide with shock and hope. Only Kim called him that, more as a tease, because he prefers honey over syrup on his waffles in the mornings. And he always bought the Honey Bear brand. The bear was so cute and honey tasty. Even he wasn't prepared for what she did next.
"I am Kim Possible," she removes her contacts, rips off her silicone face and wig, even shakes her head to loosen her natural hair.
"KP...?" He chokes up with emotions. How this possible? Even for a Possible. He witnessed her die, blown to smithereens. He didn't care. Ron rushes over embracing her tightly, just to make sure she's real. He never wanted to let her go again.
"How'd you survive?" He caresses her jawline lovingly.
"Later, Ron," she breaks his embrace. "I have terrible news. Your parents left my protection shortly after you did. Both were killed hours ago".
"What?" He collapses on his knees.
Kim kneels, too, hugging him tightly. She becomes his pillar of strength during his moment of mortal weakness.
His head hung over her shoulder sobbing heavily.
"I tried to save them, Ron. I really did. I arrived too late," her tears and broken-heartedness matched his own. "Your father was already dead, and mother mortally wounded and dying. She gave me Hanna as my daughter. She's ours now".
Ron detected something more behind ours. He breaks her embrace, swabs his eyes, and clear his throat repeating, "Ours?"
"I accept your proposal, Ron Stoppable".
He gasps in shock. He'd envisions a thousand different ways he could pop the question. This one, however, never once crossed even his wildest imagination. "How'd you know?"
"Your dad told your mom. And she told me with her last dying breaths. I promised I'd accept if you asked me. Why do you think I've been so miffed, lately? I thought you were cheating on me".
"KP, I'd never..."
Once started, he'd never shut up. She leans in kissing him, simply to shut him up. He'd listen now for sure. "I realize that now. The broken dates, all the lies, dodging me, and your edginess around me, along with a thousand smaller things added up and festered over time into something bigger. I drew the wrong conclusion, especially upon seeing your kiss Indigo in Bueno Nacho and at our table".
"I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me".
"You weren't yourself, Snow Flake".
"I wasn't?" Ron perceives he'd been dosed somehow. "What'd she use on me?"
"An aromatic version of Wade's Cupid Ray," Kim caresses his nape. "I'll work on my jealousy, I promise," she extends her left hand.
"This isn't how I imagined doing this. But, let's keep this traditional," he retrieves and open his ring box kneeling down. "KP, will you marry me?"
"Yes, Ron Stoppable, I will".
He slips the rose gold ring onto her finger. He stands up right, moves in closer, cups her cheeks, and kisses her tenderly on the lips, not too passionately in public vowing, "Always and forever, KP. Always and forever, until death do us apart".
Shego was both touched and repulsed. Touched, Princess found true love. Repulsed, she loved the redhead, too. Even she wasn't exactly sure to what extent, whether just as friends, sisters, or lover. All this touchy-go-feely crap was such a new experience. She didn't really understand how to comprehend or handle all these feelings.
She does what she always does in uncomfortable situations. She changes the subject fast, getting their minds back on the mission at hand, asking, "What do we do next, Princess?"
"Get Ron and Hanna back home".
"What will you be doing, KP?"
"Reproving my sister".
"Sister? You're the only Possible girl, well, besides Mrs. P and Joss". Nana passed away early last year. He didn't mention her because it'd only upset her again. She'd been through enough.
"Shego will fill you in".
"Remember what I said about our powers, Princess".
"I'll shoot straight, Emmy".
Ron perceives them speaking in code. He didn't know what it meant, but didn't like the implications.
