*Prologue*

Dr. Eggman has been working on this project for so long. After some time the Black Arms have been defeated and the Black Comet has been destroyed, Eggman went on back to the top secret project he never told anyone about. It was kept in his secret lab. In front of him is a pod with green liquid and a hedgehog inside. A female hedgehog with yellow fur, and gold hair.

"Dr. Eggman?" A voice spoke from the doorway. "How is the project coming along?" A red robot and a yellow robot came alongside their creator.

"The project is complete." Eggman spoke. "She is finally complete. Her memories took a very long time to recover."

"Her memories?" The red robot, Orbot, wondered.

"It has been 50 years since she has been shot." Eggman said, looking at the scar on the yellow hedgehog's chest.

"Uh, tell us again why you want to bring back your cousin?" Cubot asked. Eggman turned to face his robots and sat on the chair.

"My grandfather, Gerald Robotnik, would do anything to keep his favorite granddaughter alive from the horrible disease, NIDS, but Maria never got a chance to come to Earth. She was shot down by a GUN soldier, and Shadow was sent down to Earth." Eggman explained. "You know what happened after I awakened Shadow. But after I rescued him, I also found a secret project of my grandfather's. He was planning to make a form for Maria. By using Shadow's DNA."

"She will be immortal." Orbot said. "But, that would also mean that she will also be part alien like Shadow."

"Technically yes." Eggman said with a nod. He looked at the pod. "Maria may not be my favorite cousin, but she is still family. She will be a great help. She is a Robotnik after all. She could be a great inventor, a genius, and maybe...a great sidekick when we rule the world!"

"But, will Shadow know about this?" Orbot asked. "He mentioned her many times."

"Don't worry about him. He hardly comes around. Yet, he did forgive me after the Black Comet was destroyed." Eggman said. "Look at him now. He was accepted, got his memories back, and become a GUN Agent. We could bump into each other, but, he will never see my cousin."

"Shadow will find out what you're hiding from him eventually." Orbot said. "He will never leave without finding something he was looking for."

"This time he won't." Eggman told his robots. He stood up from a chair. "And now, the time has come. Maria Robotnik the Hedgehog, time to wake up." Eggman pressed the red button. The green liquid drains and the pod opens. Orbot quickly wrapped a blanket around Maria's body. The hedgehog opened her eyes. Her eyes are blue. Her vision is blurry for a few seconds until they become clear. She looked up at Eggman.

"Maria, can you hear me?" Eggman asked.

"...Grandfather?" Maria asked.

"No. I am not Gerald. But I am his grandson. Do you remember me?" Eggman asked with a smile. "I'm Ivo Robotnik." Maria blinked.

"...Ivo. I...think so." Maria said. She is holding her head. "I feel dizzy. Where am I?"

"You are in my headquarters, Maria. Welcome aboard." Eggman said. "Now I know you have a lot of questions, but they must wait. What you need is some clothes. I have everything prepared for you."

Eggman and his robots walked in the bedroom with a window and a closet. A bed is against the wall. Maria walked inside to look around. She grips on a blanket as she stares at the bed with clothing. A red jacket that is like Eggman's, a black jumpsuit, and boots.

"You make yourself comfortable. My robots will fetch you something to eat. I'll be checking on you in an hour." Eggman said. "Welcome back to life, cousin." He shuts the door to leave the yellow hedgehog alone. Maria looks out the window to see that she is in a city. A city run by Eggman's robots. Maria turned back to her clothes on the bed.
After she was dressed, she looked at herself in a mirror, adjusting the goggles on her head. Despite the outfit, she does look different in hedgehog form. And she is alive. The last thing she remembered is that she was dying of blood loss, and then everything went black. It was like she is living in a long dream and couldn't wake up. Maria smiled to herself.

"My life begins now."

*Author's Note: My old fanfic is coming back, but a remake! But this will continue after Vampire Heart is complete. I thought it'd be a good idea that Eggman would be the one who brought Maria back.
So, about the Coronavirus... I really hope this whole thing will blow over soon, but I hope that people won't get sick. I hope you guys are home safe from the virus. Just stay away from those who are sick.
