The Choice
"We the primordials have taken pity on you and shall give you a choice. Relive your life and make things right, or Go to whatever punishment the gods have chosen for you." I stand there shocked for a bit then ask "Why are you taking pity on me? I killed so many people." They reply "You were not in your right mind. Kronos and The Fates were messing with your mind. Should you accept we shall weave you a new fate that not even the fates could change. But it will be up to you to change that fate if you so please. Though it will be fairly hard. Some of us will also give you advice when needed. Meaning you can talk to us if you want. Also you will have a kind of romantic relationship with Annabeth" I think for only a second before deciding "the chance to make things right. You should have known that I would choose that in a heartbeat." We talk for a bit longer and then they tell me it's time.
I wake up in Hermès cabin. I see I have a book on my nightstand (a gift for Annabeth). I go out and see that the tree is still there. I go to it and sit in front of it. "Hey Thalia. It's been a while. I wish you could talk back. I have one hell of a story to tell you." I then tell Thalia's tree everything that happened my first go around. After I finish I sigh and chuckle thinking how much actually happened in such a short amount of time. I then go back down the hill and see Annabeth. "Hey Annabeth! How are you this great morning." I call to her. She chuckles and replies "I'm doing fine Luke. How about you?" I say "I'm doing good. I actually have a present for you." I give her the book, Atlas shrugged by Ayn Rand. She smiles and hugs me then walks off with her new copy of the book.
I then go back to my cabin and start writing my old life as a novel, changing names but keeping the general storyline. I am interrupted by the horn sounding. I put my manuscript in my bag and head to the pavilion. I eat, give my offering to the gods and head to a secluded spot to continue working. I am interrupted once again, not by the horn but by Annabeth, "What are you working on Luke?" She asks. "It's a novel." She looks surprised but sits next to me and puts her head on my shoulder, I put the manuscript book away, and we just sit there. Eventually we fall asleep with her head on my shoulder and me cuddling her in my arms. Before I fall asleep I hear her say in her sleep "I love you Luke." I smile and reply "I love you too Annabeth" I can tell one thing already, this is going to be very interesting.
