Disclaimer: I don't own Winx Club or Castlevania

Chapter 1

The throne was spinning, whiping through time as the Winx Club members were attempting to return to their own time. Bloom's fingers twitched, since the beginning of their adventures through time, Bloom knew that what they were doing was particularily dangerous. She'd seen enough Dr. Who to know the dangers of time travel. The throne lurched as did Bloom's stomach, the ride had been unusually bumpy this time around. Bloom turned to look at Stella, the other girl was looking more than a little green around the gills. The throne lurched again, Stella and Bloom pitching forward a little.

"It's pretty bumpy today," Stella shouted over the noise.

"I know. It's never been like this before," Bloom shouted back.

"Tecna! Do you know what's going on?" Musa asked.

"We seem to be going through some kind of temporal turbulence. It should be over soon. We're going through the worst of it now," Tecna replied

There was the sound of something cracking, Bloom looked over at her bracelet, where the Stone of Memory was and saw, to her horror that it was cracking.

"Tecna, I think we might have bigger problems, my Stone of Memory is cracking," Bloom shouted.
"Mine too! Tecna, what's going on?" Stella asked.

"I don't know! Just hang on to something."

"Hang onto what? There's nothing to hang on too!"

The throne lurched again and the cracking sound got louder and the cracks on the stone seemed to get larger. Bloom exchanged a worried glance with Stella before turning to shout at Tecna again:

"We need to stop, the cracking is getting worse!"

"We just need another minute, just hang on!"

There was a shattering sound and Bloom saw her stone had cracked badly, breaking into two pieces and then she felt the seat she was sitting on give way and she fell. She could hear Stella screaming next to her. Bloom closed her eyes, waiting to stop falling and then, she felt solid ground under her. Bloom groan and sat up, her Stone of Memory broken in two halves. A despondent moan from Stella told Bloom that Stella's Stone was in the same condition.

"What happened?" Stella asked

"I wish I could tell you." Bloom sighed.

"And when and where are we?"
"I wish I could tell you that too, Stella."

Bloom looked around, there wasn't much around aside a few trees and there was a road heading off into the woods. There was also a wooden sign by the road as well. Bloom approached it cautiously, there were red smears on the wood and Bloom had a sinking feeling that it was blood.

"Hey Bloom, what do you make of that glow?" Stella asked.

Bloom turned around and saw a deep orange glow coming from above the trees. Bloom felt a chill run up her spine as she grabbed Stella by the arm and gently tugged on it.

"I don't know. But I don't think it's anything good. Come on, maybe if we follow the road we can find somewhere to spend the night."

"You want to to go through the woods, in the dark?"

"Do you want to take your chances with the scary glow that seems to be getting closer?"

"Dark and scary woods, it is."

Bloom and Stella took off at a light jog, occasionally glancing back at the light behind them. Bloom tightened her grip on the stone pieces as she ran. Fortunately, they didn't have to go very far, the building was small but maybe they could stay a while, just to catch their breath and come up with a plan. They had reached the door when Bloom grabbed Stella's arm and shook her head:

"We can't go in there like this," She indicated the clothes they were wearing.

"Why?"
"We'd stand out. We can't stand out."

"Right."

Stella waved her hand and the clothes they were wearing changed. Bloom was now dressed in a simple blue dress and black boots. Stella was dressed in a simple orange dress and brown boots. She had also created a pair of navy hooded cloaks. Bloom nodded and opened the door for her friend.

There weren't a lot of people in the bar. A few men sitting around the bar and talking about one of them having some kind of involvement with a goat that neither Bloom nor Stella were interested in finding more about it, and another one sitting alone and nursing a pint of beer. None of them looked up at the door or at Bloom and Stella as they walked in, hoods up, just in case. The man sitting in the corner looked up at Bloom when she took her hood off before going back to his drink. Bloom and Stella sat down at a far table. Bloom placed her halves of her Stone of Memory on the table, and Stella placed her halves on the table too.

"Okay, what do you think happened with the stones?" Stella asked.

"I don't know. They weren't affected during the fight and none of the spells being fired even hit the stones. This is something different and new and I don't really like it."

"What are we going to do? Are we just stuck here until the others find us and bring us back?"

"We may have too. Or maybe not, since the stones are magic, maybe they can repair themselves."

"What are the chances of that happening?"
"If Tecna were here, she'd say they are very slim. But it's the best we can hope for."

"Okay. So, either the stones repair themselves or the others find a way to come get us. We'll probably have to lay low, find somewhere to hide. Bloom did you hear anything I said?"

Bloom turned back to her friend. Stella sighed, knowing the look on her friend's face. Stella turned to look at where her friend was watching. The men at the bar were talking about something and harassing the man who was in the corner. There was a quizzical look on Bloom's face. Like she was considering something.

"Oh no, don't even think about it. Normally, I'm not to responsible one but, don't."

"Stella, I'm not planning on doing anything..."

Then Bloom's expression changed before rising to her feet.

"Excuse me one minute."

Trevor's day had gone from shitty to extremely shitty. Between waking up cold and hungry that morning, to the multitude of monster attacks, to being run out of yet another town because some asshole recognized his family crest and now this run down bar with extremely shitty beer. He hadn't expected the two women who came in, several hours after he came in but neither of them really seemed all that special. Not enough to draw the attention of the other patrons at least. Normally he wouldn't bother paying attention to people but he couldn't help but notice how entirely different they looked. One of them was slightly darker than other women with blonde hair that he had seen while the other one had orange hair and blue eyes. He had never seen a woman with hair of that colour. She was pretty, that was for sure.

From the look of their clothes and how well kept they looked, it was a safe assumption that the two were either rich or nobility. But what in the name of everything good were a pair of noblewomen doing out this far in the countryside? He hadn't heard of any larger towns being attacked as of yet. He kept an eye on them, anyway. Well, until he was pulled out of his watching to try and produce some coin for his drinks and was recognized. Again. Now, here he was, his balls on fire and about to get beaten up. Again. Getting beaten up was becoming more and more normal. He braced himself for impact and an opportunity to land a punch on his opponent when there was a crashing noise as someone smashed a chair over his assailants head, knocking him out cold.

It was the redheaded woman who had just come in, her blue eyes flashing with anger. Trevor, was too shocked to say anything, not expecting any form of defense from anyone. Trevor just stared up at her, she wasn't just pretty, she was beautiful.

"Are you okay?" She asked, reaching out a hand to help him to his feet.

Even her voice was beautiful. Trevor, speechless for the first time in a long time, took her hand and was surprised by the strong tug that pulled him off his ass on the wood floor. She was deceptively strong, hidden under the clothes she wore. If she was a noble, she had definitely been taught to fight. He was reluctant to let go of her hand, which was soft and smooth compared to his rough and calloused one. He had almost forgotten about the other assailants when another female voice shouted:

"Heads up!"

The redheaded beauty let go of his hand, and ducked as an empty tankard sailed over her head, knocking the second man off his feet, and caused him to trip over the bar. He had almost forgotten about the blonde woman, who was the redhead's companion. Trevor, now out of his reverie, rushed forward and landed a punch on the third man, knocking him out cold.

The three of them stood there, unsure what to do next considering there were now three unconscious men on the floor. He watched as the blonde ran over and placed her hand on the other's shoulder with a look. Both women seemed to be communicating silently with their eyes. Trevor cleared his throat and said:

"Thank you. For your help but I had them handled."

The redhead snorted and said, her lips quirking into a smirk:

"Didn't look like you had them handled."

Trevor fought back the urge to blush at her comment. He tugged at his cloak and shifted from foot to foot. He felt awkward and unsure. His hind brain on the other hand seemed determined to get his to ask for the redhead's name, and no matter how much the rest of him wanted to know that as well, he knew to keep a clear head.

"If you don't mind me asking, where are you two from? It's fairly obvious that neither one of you are county folk but I haven't heard of any larger cities being attacked by the night hordes," Trevor asked instead.

Bloom and Stella exchanged a look, neither one of them had come up with a cover story. Thinking quickly, Bloom spoke up:

"You're right about that, we aren't from the countryside. Our caravan was attacked by the horde, we were lucky enough to escape. We were headed for the port city."

"Brăila?" Trevor asked, his eyebrows shooting up.

"Yes. Our families thought it was prudent we left the country," Stella said, speaking up.

"Wouldn't it be more logical to have taken the main roads?"

"Yes, but we must have taken a wrong turn somewhere. According to the coachman, the signs had been torn down and he was guessing the direction he was going in," Bloom lied, rubbing the back of her neck.

Trevor wasn't sure if he was being told the truth or not. Signs indicating the directions of towns had been knocked over or destroyed, that was true but there was something that was bugging him but he couldn't be sure about what it was. It might be their accents, there was something off about it but then again, it was possible the alcohol was making things sound strange to his ears. He suspected that it was also the alcohol that made him give into his hind brain's urges when he asked:

"Can I get your names?"

"I'm Bloom. And this is Stella. Nice to meet you."

"Trevor Belmont, nice to meet you as well."

To his surprise, neither one of them seemed to get upset at the revelation of his last name like he expected. It was unlikely that they hadn't heard of his family but then again, the excommunication of his family might not have reached their ears. Highly unlikely, but possible.

"You wouldn't happen to know where we could find somewhere to stay the night, would you? We were hoping this place would have a room but," Stella looked around, "I don't think we'd be welcome here tonight."

Trevor chuckled in agreement before responding:

"Not in the area. Gresit is the nearest town however but moving at night isn't recommended. I can take you both in the morning, however. I'm sure that from there, you can arrange for transportation to Brăila."

"Really? You'd help us?" Stella asked

"You both helped me, figured I'd return the favour."

"Thank you, Trevor Belmont," Bloom said gently, a soft smile crossing her face.

In that moment, between his name on Bloom's lips and the smile she was giving him, it was then did Trevor came to the realization that he was fucked.

Ugh. Between writers block and work, I was sure I would never get this damn chapter done. But now, between the fact that I don't have work and the fact that I have to stay home all the time, I know have time to work on this. Before anyone starts shouting at me, I haven't seen season 3 of Castlevania yet, so this won't have much season 3 content. I hope everyone enjoyed this chapter. And if you are inclined to do so, maybe drop a review. Stay safe and stay healthy. Later, Dana.
