Underneath The Pacific Ocean, a large quadruped creature was slumbering near the thermal vents as it was the only available source of warmth in the area. The creature itself was simply known as "clover" due to it being an infant in this stage. Unfortunately for it, an expedition team led by an american scientific group was trying to study it, albeit invading its privacy.

"Another one. That's the third one we found. Imagine if there are more living even deeper than we can ever go." One scientist said with wonder in her voice.

"Highly doubt it. The last time we found one, it was the size of three buildings stacked on top of each other. It would be too difficult for them to live in this cramped space."

"Probably, but they have shown rather unique adaptation skills. Who knew they were so flexible in whatever environment they live in?"

The expedition team was right in front of the creature, using lights to illuminate the darkness. The creature did not seem to mind as it was facing towards the rock.

"Alright everybody, we're going to collect some tissue. Team Bravo, activate the micro saw."

"You got it, captain!"

As the occupants of the sub were about to activate the tool, one of them pressed the wrong button. Instead of turning on the saw, it accidentally shot a diamond tipped harpoon at the creature. Almost immediately, the creature woke up, wailing in pain as it was trying to find the source of the injury.

"What the hell did you do?!" The captain yelled through the commlink.

"It was an accident! We pushed the wrong button!"

"Well, take it out! The last thing we want is to get attacked!"

The sub that shot the harpoon tried to remove the harpoon, but when it did, it drew some blood, antagonizing the infant even more. After crying in pain, it placed its attention towards the primary vehicle, looking at it in a threatening manner.

"Everyone, don't move. It thinks that we are a threat. Don't do anything that could provoke it to attack us."

After several seconds of silence, a radio in one of the subs was at maximum volume, where it would receive a transmission from Monarch.

"You are in an unauthorized area. Please leave at once or we will have to resort to deadly force."

The transmission sounded like a high pitched squeal in the water, where it would interfere with the infant's hearing, causing the creature to roar in pain and unintentionally destroying the subs.

"Abort the mission! We can't stay around and…"

Before the captain could finish speaking, the creature tore the main sub in half, causing water to flood inward. Before the occupants could react, the creature chewed on the cockpit, killing them with the brute force of its mouth. After seeing wreckage around itself, the creature decided to leave the comfort of the vents in order to escape the area it perceives to be dangerous, where it would swim towards the surface.

Once it peaked its head above the water, it saw some land not too far away. It began to move towards the shore of California. On Skull Island, King Kong witnesses the creature heading towards California, but he decided not to confront it as he knows what it feels like to have his home invaded by enemies and feeling confused and scared of people. Feeling guilty about his fight with Godzilla, he went towards the coldness of the ocean and swam to an unknown region that was far away from the island itself.

In Tokyo, Japan, a research vessel was exploring the environmental impact of dumping radioactive waste into The Pacific Ocean on a stormy night. One of the occupants was a scientist named Hideo Hashimoto. Despite the team's insistence that they turn back to land, the scientist was too stubborn to heed their warning.

"Hideo, the weather's getting bad. There's been reports of strong winds in this part of the ocean."

"Are you kidding me?! My sensors indicate that we're right above the radiation source! We have to investigate it no matter what happens!" The scientist said with a hint of arrogance in his voice.

"You want us to dive into the ocean in this weather?! Are you out of your mind?! Not only is it pointless, but you can get reprimanded for putting the whole expedition in danger!"

"You know what?! I'm not here to argue with you! You can take your pathetic excuse for a team and go back to land! I'm going to continue this expedition myself!"

"You can't be serious! Do you realize how high the risks are just going to the radiation source?! You can get killed, you idiot! Don't let your ambitions and pride consume you for once in your life!"

Hideo could no longer tolerate the doubts of his partner and in a fit of fury and rage, he took out a SMG from his pocket and aimed it at his partner's head at point blank.

"Get off my boat right now, you miserable coward! What's the point of having you around if you're just going to be a detriment to my research?!"

The two men exchanged glares at each other as the rain heavily poured above them with the wind blowing hard on the ship. After several seconds of an intense argument, Hideo's partner decided to relent and succumb to Hideo's demands.

"Fine. Have it your way. This expedition was doomed from the start. Don't expect us to rescue you when you run into problems."

The partner then turned around and called for the rest of the team to prepare the second smaller boat for departure. As the whole team came out of the ship's quarters, they started asking questions about the departure and some members were looking at Hideo with shock and disgust while others were shaking their heads in disbelief. Hideo himself stared at them back, but with malice in his eyes as raindrops fell from the brim of his glasses.

"Well, what are you waiting for?!" Hideo yelled. "Get off of my boat at once!"

Everyone began to go to one side of the ship as they began to lower the boat to the unstable waves below. It did not take long for the team to get the boat prepared as one by one, they entered the vessel and began to loosen the ropes holding it to the main ship. After the boat touched the surface of the water below, the crew members looked at the primary ship, where they would see Hideo looking down at them without remorse for his actions.

"Damn you, Hideo." Said a crew member. "I hope you get what you deserve…"

Without hesitation, the expedition team left Hideo to do his own work. After being left alone, the scientist began to ramble about his superiority under his breath.

"Who needs them? I can do everything myself…"

As he was putting on his diving suit, the ship was bombarded by a massive gust of wind, knocking Hideo off the boat. He screamed as he was now in the icy ocean, desperately trying to get back to the ship, but to no avail as small waves began to engulf him and due to his weight, he began to sink. As he was sinking into the abyss, he saw something green and bright on the seafloor.

Hideo was somewhat amazed by this discovery as he tried to fathom the environmental risk of radioactive waste, but that moment did not last long as he saw a massive shark-like creature holding a dead whale in its mouth, where it was closing in on him. He tried to swim away, but to his horror, he began to mutate into some unholy form. He was screaming underwater as the creature also mutated into a grotesque biomass that eventually began to merge with Hideo. The biomass kept shifting until a lizard-like shape began to take hold. After a couple minutes of metamorphosing, the biomass eventually stopped mutating as it was now a kaiju.

The creature itself was no bigger than a fishing boat, but it has large eyes, sharp needle-like teeth, gills that spewed excess blood, and a necrotic appearance that made it look atrocious and ghastly due to the rapid mutation involved. At first, it looked at its surroundings, wondering where it was. It was exploring the depths of the ocean until something kicked in: its metabolism required some food. In a frenzy, it searched for food until it stopped its tracks and looked at the surface of the ocean. Sensing that there is food above it, it began to swim towards the surface with hunger in its eyes.

Meanwhile, the team that left Hideo minutes ago were about to call for help from the coast guard so they would pick them up and get them to Tokyo.

"Are you getting a signal, Miyuki? I don't want to stay here for much longer…"

"I'm trying to, but the wind is making it hard to…"

Before she could finish speaking, the boat was hit by something large and heavy.

"Uh guys, what was that?"

"I don't know. It was probably just a…"

All of a sudden, the creature lunged out of the ocean and ate the crew member with such speed and precision. After seeing the creature for the first time, the others tried to defend themselves with some harpoons and rifles, but it was no use as the boat capsized, placing the crew members in an icy situation. One by one, the creature pulled them under the rough water until only Hideo's former partner was left. He armed himself with a harpoon and was trying to get back to the boat until he felt a sharp and intense pain in his leg as he was beginning to sink. He screamed as he tried to survive as he held onto the boat as much as he could, but nevertheless, he got sucked into the abyss, leaving nothing behind as the boats were the only piece of evidence that they were there during the storm.

Meanwhile, the large quadruped creature emerges from the ocean, where it begins to move towards California. As it began to get close to the shore, numerous military personnel saw the massive beast closing in. Without hesitation, the military shot missiles and tank rounds at the creature, but to no effect as it only made the monster enraged. With an ear piercing roar, it lunged towards the shore defense, where it would destroy the tanks and strykers stationed there.

The remaining forces tried to repel it back, but the bullets from the rifles did not even pierce its tough hide. As it was rampaging on the sore, spider-like parasites fell off of it, attacking the soldiers and brutally tearing them apart for food. After the military defenses were destroyed, the creature saw lights in the distance as there were sounds of people laughing and cars honking at each other. Curious, it decided to investigate as its slender limbs made the ground tremble due to its weight.
