First there is just this lil' convo I really wanted to happen between Alice and Warner. Because baseball. Let's pretend it's right after Alice finds out her entire family died and that she is actually from 16 years ago for some context.

"You know what?", he suddenly.

"Once all this shit is dealt with...", he started, making Alice startle next to him. It was not often you heard Warner use such crude language.

"...I am going to take you to a nice field somewhere and teach you how to pitch."

"Pitch?", she inquired.

"To throw. A baseball to be exact."

"Why do we need to be in a field?", she asked.

He scoffed.

"Because once we get that done I'll teach you how to hit. And there is no need to cause Delalieu any more stress by smashing a window by accident."

Alice considered this for a moment. Then she leaned into his side.

"I think I would like that", she decided.

Then there is this more fleshed out convo between Juliette and Delalieu. (I was actually very proud of this one)

Juliette let her gaze wander for some time to try and find a place to settle down. It rest at Kenji, Aaron, Adam, James and even Castle. All resting with their backs against a wall, talking softly to the person or persons next to them.

But she didn't go to any of them.

She was just about to decide to sit on her own for some peace and quiet when her eyes caught someone else.

As many times before she hadn't even noticed that Delalieu was present; sitting silently against a wall on the other end of the room, next to a running machine. Eyes somewhere else. Deep in thought maybe?

"Can I sit with you?", she asked as she had walked up to him.

He was startled and she immediately regretted her decision. He obviously wanted some peace and quiet for his own.

He looked up at her. Gray eyes widening a little as he realized who it was. First looking a little confused, but then a gentle half-smile broke out on his face.

"No I don't mind, miss Ferrars", he said.

She said down beside him, enough far away to not have any contact with his side.

They sat there in silence for a while, which didn't bother Juliette. It was what she had looked for.

After a while she looked to Delalieu, studying his profile. The gentle curves of his face. The wrinkles of experience. He even had smile lines around his eyes she realized.

People often forget that everyone had a backstory of some kind. That they doesn't just show up when you enter a new place. They got there as well, and they walked a road full of history and other people as well to there.

She wondered how he had ended up here. He must have had supported the Reestablishment at some point, so how did he get where he is now? If he was Warner's grandfather, how did they become so distant from each other? And just as much as Warner had lost a mother, had Delalieu lost a daughter. And what about Anderson's abuse towards them? Had he been blind to it? Had he tried to help but failed? Had he realized it too late? He knew about Warner's scars, so he had to know about the whipping at some point. What had he felt when he knew the man he had given his daughter to did the unforgivable?

Maybe that was why he stayed.

All of this passed through her mind, even if she didn't say anything.

What was he thinking of right now?

She followed his gaze.

It was Alice at the other side of the room, sleeping peacefully against Warner's shoulder. A suit jacket draped over her. It was so big that only her legs below the knees were visible. White knee socks on them.

She didn't know much about her.

"Did you know she just app-ppeared in Warner's study one day?"

Juliette turned her to see Delalieu, still looking at the girl but slightly leaning towards her.

She didn't know that.

She shook her head.

"We never understood how it happened, until today", he continued.

"That she has an ability…", she filled in.

Delalieu sighed.

"Yes", he said,"I suppose Sir Warner got some theories about it when his Father told him there were more of you... But we didn't have time to dwell on that mystery, it was the rest of your abilities that alarmed us." He shrugged. Then he laughed a little at something, but sighed again.

"I c-can't imagine what things she could have been used for if A-Anderson had known found out", he pondered, but didn't seem very humored by it when he said it out loud.

He fell silent.

Juliette didn't say anything either for a while.

"Warner must have been off the wall if she just showed up in his office one day", she suddenly said.

Delalieu scoffed. He actually scoffed.

"You can say that again, miss Ferrars", he said.

"We ran around the base for hours trying to find any security footage or a witness of her entering", he told her.

"As you can probably guess we didn't find any. It probably would have been g-glossed over if she didn't come back every time we tried sending her to the compound."

"She did?", Juliette asked. Amazed.

"She did", he nodded.

"And Sir Warner only got more frustrated as time went by. But I guess he just gave up after a while. And she got sick..."

Juliette looked at the two blondes at the other side of the room. Alice resting against Warner's arm while he read over some documents. She realized it was his suit jacket draped over her; and just for a moment she felt a sting of jealousy at the scene.

"They seem rather close", she said softly.

Delalieu smiled at her remark.

"It took some time. Even if he claims he only sees her as a wandering p-pest that only exists to interrupt his work", Delalieu said, a certain fondness in his voice.

Another silence passed between them.

"A lot of people a-actually thought they were siblings", he suddenly said, turning his head a little to smile at Juliette.

Juliette was barely surprised. She smiled at the thought of Aaron having a younger sibling to tussle around with, much like Adam and James did.

"They actually look a little like each other. They're both blonde and wear fancy clothes, so I wouldn't be surprised. I would probably say the same if Warner hadn't told me he was an only child."

"They also pester each other like real siblings do. I don't know how many times he has chased her down the corridors because she did something she wasn't supposed to. Or Alice arguing with him over the most trivial things", he said.

She didn't expect to be told that.

She looked at them again. Warner being so comfortable to have another human being so close to him. And Alice looking like she had done this exact thing plenty of times before.

And Warner had said he had no friends.

I realize as I read this over that it's a bit weird how Delalieu is just sitting on the floor in the gym. But I'll leave it for the aesthetic.
