I remember thinking about this scene a lot as a fifteen year old, but I only wrote down notes on what would happen; so this is something I threw together.
It takes place directly after the last scene of Ignite me. Team returns to base and Alice is told that Anderson has been overthrown. What she didn't know was that they had always planned to kill him.
And being the Swede she is she can't help but question their methods.
It's dramatic as hell xP
"You killed him?", Alice asked.
"He's dead?", she looked around at them. And as she did, one by one, they realized she was not part of the happy train that had just entered the base.
"You killed him?", Alice repeats. It was obvious she was surprised by this. Upset even.
It's as if everyone paused mid-celebration. Some of them glanced at each other. Self conscious.
Was it okay to act so happy when they had just fought a battle?
Alice walked up to Warner. Tugged at his arm.
"You promised no one would get hurt!", Alice said.
"I said they weren't here at base to hurt anyone", Warner replied, easily removing himself from her light grip.
"I never said that we weren't planning to have my father assassinated."
Alice startled at his words.
"Oh isn't that rich!?", she demands once she has gathered herself, her tone rising.
"Weren't you supposed to be better than him?!"
She looked around, daring anyone to disagree.
They stand quiet, no one stepping forward to respond. They weren't prepared for this kind of reaction from anyone.
"You are all just a bunch of hypocrites. You say you are pacifists but you only know how to solve your problems through more violence…!"
"No."
Warner's firm voice interrupts her.
"You're just a sheltered, entitled brat who doesn't know what reality's like", Warner affirms.
"You have no idea what these sixteen years have been like, you don't know what he did, to the world. To us. To your family!"
Alice looked as if he had physically struck her.
"And even though you've been here a year now all you know is the comfort of this base. And thus you don't understand that there was no other way-"
"But you don't actually know that, do you!", Alice yelled.
"You just believe that because it was all her", she said. She looked at Juliette for the first time during the argument.
Juliette was almost physically taken aback. Those light blue eyes were filled with a hate that seemed to burn.
She realized she had been a fool for thinking she had escaped it. There would always be someone…
Still it was Alice's next words that seemed to stab her.
"But all she is a murderer. Always have been. Always will be."
"Don't you dare talk about her like that…!"
His growled as he stepped forward to perhaps grab Alice. To shake her around some. Whatever he had intended Alice managed to slap his arm away.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!"
And then she was gone, her scream echoing in the gym for a few more seconds after her departure.
Warner stared at the spot Alice had been at for a few seconds, then dragged a hand through his blond hair; slightly unkempt after the day's intense battle; and whispered:
"Jesus..."
Everyone eventually returned to what they had been doing before Alice and Warner's confrontation, celebrating, even though the mood had been a little mangled, to say the least.
The "Don't touch me" is a lil' reference to the Swedish "Shatter me" title translation. It's "Don't touch me!", with the "Don't" crossed out, in Juliette fashion.
It worked really well for the first book, but it got a bit weird for the other ones.
Like, "Don't save me!", for Unravel me.
Next chapter is going to be some Ultra Hurt/Comfort between Jasper and Alice.
