Ch 1
"Cody!" Yelled Teaspoon as he walked around the station looking in all his hiding places.
"Cody!"
"He ran into town, Teaspoon. He should be on his way back. Something wrong?" Asked Noah.
"You could say that. He was supposed to fix some boards on Rachel's porch. Apparently, he ain't bothered himself to do it."
"He's been busy trying to swoon Pamela Madison from town. He went into town to pick something up for her."
"I see. Well Rachel stepped on a bad board this morning and fell through. Hurt her ankle. She is scorching mad."
"I don't blame her one bit. Cody got Kid to fix the fence for him and Ike is chopping his wood. I'm gonna tell ya, Teaspoon, we are getting mighty tired of covering for his ass."
"When I find him, I'm gonna have to put my foot up it."
"Well we have been talking. We got us a plan to get even with Cody and get him to do his chores." Noah smiled.
"Noah, I don't usually condone that kind of behavior but have at it. I think Mr. Cody needs to learn a lesson."
"That's the same thing we all said."
Teaspoon and Noah smiled as they walked over to Rachel's to look at the broken porch.
Cody came riding back into the station humming as he went. He walked into the bunkhouse. Jimmy was laying on his bunk above Cody's. He heard Cody walk in the door. He slightly tipped his hat back off his face to watch him. Cody pulled his trunk out from under his bed. He pulled a small velvet bag from his coat pocket. He smiled as he slipped the bag under some clothes in his trunk. Jimmy closed his eyes as Cody stood. Cody looked at Jimmy. Happy that he was asleep, Cody walked back outside. Jimmy smiled to himself.
Cody walked over to the barn to find Ike finishing up chopping the wood. Ike saw Cody and flung the axe down.
'Where were you?! You said you would only be gone five minutes!' Ike signed furious.
"I'm sorry, Ike. It took a little longer than I planned. I'll make it up to you. I promise."
Ike shook his head and walked away. Cody smiled as he picked up the axe and put it back where it went. Cody walked over to wash up. Kid was walking to the same place. Cody put his arm in front of him.
"Kid, can I go first? I have a date tonight."
"Cody, I've been working all day! I smell!"
"It won't take long, I promise."
"Whatever. Make it quick."
Cody grinned as he went to clean up for his date. Kid walked back into the bunkhouse. Jimmy and Noah were sitting at the table.
"Ok, he's in there." Said Kid.
Noah smiled as Jimmy stood up and went in Cody's trunk. He pulled out the velvet bag as Noah stood watch by the door.
"Y'all think we are being too mean?" Asked Kid.
"Don't pussy out on us now, Kid. He deserves all this and more. Sides we are just gonna make him look like an ass."
"I don't know about you, but Cody has been swindling all of us for weeks. I'm ready to put an end to it." Said Noah listening.
"Sides, he went as far as to cut my cinch last week in town so I'd fall off my horse in front of everyone. All because Pam spoke to me in Thompkins. This is easy compared to the beating he should have got." Said Jimmy.
Kid watched as Jimmy opened the window slightly and poured the perfume out. He replaced the perfume with horse pee.
"He's coming!"
Jimmy shoved the bottle back in the bag and pushed the trunk under his bed just as he was coming up the steps. They all ran and sat at the table. Cody walked in and looked at the group.
"Where you off to Cody?" Asked Jimmy.
"I asked Pam on a date, if you must know."
"Such great news." Mumbled Jimmy.
"Don't be jealous, Jimmy. You're just mad cause your cinch broke in town and you fell on your ass in front of Pam and her friends. Hilarious, though."
Jimmy frowned at Cody as he grabbed his gift and made his way out. He looked at Kid and Noah.
"See what I mean."
