twilightsage121, who owns Skelepyre and Twilight, asked for this one. Here you go, Amiga! Enjoy! :)
Skylanders belongs to Activision. I only own Rachel and Crystal.
Never Stoke A Mother's Fire
Rachel and Crystal were in the living room of the Academy, sleeping on one of the couches as they had been on a mission until late in the evening and so were sleeping soundly as the sun was shining. They were so deep in sleep that they didn't hear someone come in.
Fiesta and Skelepyre smiled as they saw the two sisters sleeping and the mariachi skeleton gently set Twilight down on the couch near Rachel. The baby looked at the young woman and leaned forward, gently patting her face.
"Mmm?" The Tech Portal Master groaned out sleepily, making Skelepyre clap her hands to her mouth to keep her giggles quiet while Fiesta just managed to quiet his chuckling. Twilight again patted Rachel's face and let out a coo.
Hearing that, Rachel opened her eyes and chuckled as she saw Twilight was responsible for waking her up. "Hey, chica," she said with a sleepy smile as she picked up the little one and let her sit on her stomach. The baby giggled happily and the Tech Portal Master turned to find her partner and his girlfriend beside her. "So you two are the main culprits," she said without heat.
Fiesta chuckled. "It's nearly nine o'clock, Amiga," he said.
Rachel sat up, finding Crystal still sleeping beside her. "The mission last night went longer than we thought it would," she said, holding Twilight in her arms and the baby was more than content to sit in her arms while the older girl gently rubbed her little sister's back. "Hey, sis. Wake up, mija," she said gently.
Crystal groaned. "Ten more minutes," she groaned out.
Skelepyre chuckled. "Time to get up," she said playfully.
Rachel climbed off the couch, handing Twilight back to the Dualander before stretching, her back and neck popping lightly. "Ah, that's better," the older girl said.
Fiesta chuckled as he went over to Crystal. "Time to get up, chica," he said.
The little girl pulled the covers over her head, but the skeleton only smiled and reached under the end of the blanket, his fingers brushing over the young girl's feet. Crystal giggled and curled up, but Fiesta only grinned. "I'm going to get you, little one," he said playfully as he began poking her sides through the blanket.
Crystal's giggles filled the room and she squirmed to get away, trying to use the blanket for a shield, but that wasn't working as Fiesta continued playfully tickling her until she finally sat up and gave him a cute glare. "Fiesta!" She groaned.
He chuckled and tickled her neck, making her scrunch her neck up and giggle again. "Good morning, chica," he said.
Rachel chuckled before stretching and yawning again. "Well, the sun's bright today. Let's hope the rain holds off a bit longer."
"I hope so," Skelepyre said.
Twilight giggled and reached for Fiesta. "Dada!" She said happily.
He chuckled and accepted her into his arms. "My little one," he said with a smile.
Rachel smiled. "Twilight sees Fiesta as her dad, huh?" She asked the skeleton elf.
"Yes, she does," Skelepyre said, smiling again. "She surprised us last week when she said that as we didn't know she even knew that word."
"Babies pick up on things very quickly," the Tech Portal Master said.
They all headed for the dining room to eat and met up with Fright Rider, who hugged his sister warmly and let Twilight hold his finger as he smiled at her. Just as they all sat down to eat, an explosion rocked the dining room and everyone dove down to be safe. Skelepyre went to get Twilight when she was suddenly shoved back by a force field and Kaos laughed at he appeared with the bullies behind him and one of them picked up Twilight before Kaos pulled a disappearing trick, making himself and the bullies vanish with the baby.
Skelepyre sat up and gasped. "Twilight!" She cried out.
Everyone got up to see that Twilight was missing. "Kaos and the bullies!" Crystal said. "They kidnapped Twilight!"
Fiesta ground his teeth and twirled his horn. "They've made a big mistake," he said in a low voice.
Rachel was angry that Kaos had again pulled such a stupid trick. "I'll call the other Portal Masters," she said. "Crystal, call up the other Skylanders."
Moments later, all the Portal Masters were gathered along with their partners and had been briefed about the situation. "Man, what was Kaos thinking?" One of the female Portal Masters asked.
"Apparently he wasn't," said one of the male Portal Masters. "Did he forget what happened the last time he tried this?"
"He's apparently forgotten," Rachel said. "And we're going to remind him again what happens when he and the bullies pull a stunt like this."
"I'm going with you," Skelepyre said firmly.
"I'm going too," Fiesta said.
The Tech Portal Master nodded. "Okay, guys. Operation Fast and Furious," she said. "It's time to school our enemies."
Back in Kaos' lair, Twilight was crying as she was trapped in an energy cage and Kaos was going over his books. "Let's see," he said.
"She's got to have some kind of powers," one bully said.
"Maybe we should make her cry some more," said another bully.
Kaos smirked. "Oooh, I like it," he said with an evil giggle.
Just as they were about to make Twilight cry some more, a foggy mist filled the room, making it hard to see. "Hey! What's this?" One of the bullies asked in alarm.
The room grew darker. "Any last words?" Asked a familiar voice that made the bullies jump and huddle together in fear.
Skelepyre suddenly appeared out of the mist and she glared at them. "You all made a big mistake," she said with a growl, her obsidian blades in her hands. "Now you face me."
With that, she charged and the bullies tried to use their powers against her, but found Skelepyre was too fast as she dodged their attacks and set her own swords on fire, slashing at the air and making the bullies jump back right before flaming skulls began raining down, making it impossible for the bullies to get away.
"You fools! Get her!" Kaos said, calling up some attacks.
Bones suddenly shot out of the ground, surprising him and the bullies before Skelepyre snapped her fingers, making the bones burn, which made the bullies cower in fear while Kaos just laughed aloud. "What a parlor trick!" He said.
"A parlor trick, is it?" Fright Rider said in anger as he spun in and kicked Kaos.
Fiesta blasted Kaos with his horn. "How dare you kidnap Twilight!" He said angrily as he called up some of his amigos, who jumped in to help.
Skelepyre's body began heating up quickly and it was soon heated up to the boiling point as skeleton minions came around her right before they became burning skeleton minions as a result of the Dualander combining her two soul gem powers. "Burned to the bone!" She cried out as the minions attacked.
Rachel glared at the bullies. "What made you think it was a good idea to kidnap a baby who's got a very protective mother, an equally protective uncle, and a super-protective father?" She asked them.
Fiesta appeared beside her and he growled. "No one kidnaps my loved ones and gets away with it," he said, looking very scary right then, as did Fright Rider and Skelepyre.
"Let's kick these bullies to the moon," the undead jouster said.
The three attacked fast and furiously and Rachel snapped her fingers, catching Kaos in a telekinetic bubble as he tried to escape. "Not so fast, shrimp," she growled. "You're next."
The bullies were shaking in their shoes after Skelepyre, Fright Rider, and Fiesta were done with them and the three turned to Kaos, who gulped as he saw them look at him angrily. Rachel smirked and set him down. "He's all yours," she said.
As the other Portal Masters took care of the bullies and Rachel watched as Kaos was learning just how scary the three surrounding him could be when it came to their family, Crystal was looking for Twilight, soon finding her in a cage in the dungeon. The baby was crying harshly and the little girl went up to her. "Shh, it's okay, Twilight," she said softly.
The baby stopped crying at hearing her voice and looked up at her. "Don't worry, I'll have you out soon," she said, trying to figure on how to open the cage. She grunted in frustration as she couldn't figure it out. "I need some help."
She quickly headed out of the lair and just as luck would have it, she spotted Frightful Fiesta coming her way. "Frightful!" She called out, making him stop short in surprise before he saw the young girl.
"Why Crystal," the orange-and-black skeleton said in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"Kaos and the bullies kidnapped Skelepyre's daughter, Twilight," the little girl said. "She's trapped in a cage and I can't get her out."
"Lead the way, chica," Frightful said immediately, ready to battle Kaos and the bullies.
Inside the castle, Kaos was defeated and passed out from the beating he had taken. Fiesta looked around. "Now where is Twilight?" He asked.
They looked around before Rachel spotted Crystal coming into the room. "There!" She said.
Skelepyre turned to see a skeleton that looked very similar to her boyfriend carrying Twilight. "Twilight!" She cried out.
Hearing her mother's voice, the baby reached for her and the grateful mother accepted her from the new skeleton, holding her baby close as she looked at him, tears in her eyes. "Thank you," she said.
"You're welcome," he said with a smile before bowing to her. "I am Frightful Fiesta, but my friends call me Frightful. Am I right to assume you are Skelepyre?"
She blinked. "Yes, but...how did you know?"
He smiled. "Fiesta is my good friend and he told me all about you," he said.
"Frightful," Fiesta said, giving his friend a hug. "How did you know we needed help?"
"Crystal found me," he said. "And she told me that your daughter had been kidnapped."
Skelepyre smiled at him. "Thank you both," she said.
After putting Kaos in his room and checking to make sure the bullies were far away, the group headed back for the Academy for a well-deserved meal while Fiesta held Twilight in one arm and had his other arm wrapped around his girlfriend. "Are you okay, mi amor?" He asked.
She nodded. "Yes," she said. "Especially now that our daughter is safe and sound."
"If those bullies try that again, I'll really give it to them," he said to her.
She smiled and kissed him, to which he returned the kiss as Fright Rider and Frightful smiled. Rachel and Crystal smiled too, as did the other Portal Masters. "Alright, I think our meal has been put off long enough," said one of them.
"Agreed," said another as they all sat down to eat, the peace that settled in being welcomed as they enjoyed the meal, especially now that everyone was safe and sound.
