Disclaimer: I do not own this otherwise the Crisis? Never woulda' happened and I wouldn't be in denial right now.
He had wanted to kill her.
No, Oliver had wanted her to suffer.
But he couldn't stop hearing Barry's voice in his head.
This isn't you, Oliver.
Maybe it was. Maybe it wasn't.
And Barry deserved to be avenged but he was a good man. He wouldn't want her dead.
So Oliver shot her in the leg, causing her to be flustered long enough for him to close the gap in three quick strides, bringing the pistol down on her head and knocking her unconscious.
You did the right thing.
That was Barry's voice.
Then why couldn't I have done it with you?
He stood there, adrenaline causing his body to shake or maybe that was grief and oh yeah, those were definitely tears.
He pulled the tranquilizer out of his belt and he didn't know why he'd put it there but maybe it was a subconscious thing because Barry wouldn't kill and Oliver wouldn't either but he did and he killed Barry-
He jabbed it into her neck, none too gently, for good measure before grabbing some loose twine and tying her up.
The bleeding would be fine.
He texted the coordinates to the rest of the team, catching himself from sending it to Barry before he disappeared back into the night as if nothing ever happened.
But it did.
And Oliver didn't know if he could live with it.
There were days that Felicity would ask herself, in awe and grateful bewilderment-
How did my life get to be this way?
And then there were days like today.
Where she sat at her desk in misery, attempting to dry tear stained cheeks - even though she knew it was hopeless - and asked herself.
How did my life get to be this way?
Oliver was gone and God only knew Barry's fate.
She was scared. No, she was terrified. She couldn't lose them both, God, she couldn't handle that-
"Felicity-"
A grab at her shoulder and sound of Dig's voice was enough to make her jump, no sound emitting from her mouth except a harsh gasp.
He sighed, tiredly.
"I think you should see this," She frowned at his- tired, and broken and just exhausted - voice, standing up to follow her friend. But when she realized he had lead her
to the door where Barry was, she froze.
"Dig, no." She shook her head, already moving away. "I can't-"
"Hey," He gently grabbed her arm, guiding her back. "Do you trust me?" She simply stared at him, but they both knew the answer. He turned, slowly opening the door and she braced herself, blinking back tears that were already forming.
"John, I can't do thi-" She turned away, but froze at the sound of her name.
"Hey, Felicity."
She'd recognize that voice anywhere.
Though raw and hoarse she knew.
She slowly turned back around, nearly choking on the sob that made it's way up her throat, blocking it off with a hand to her mouth.
There, propped up on pillows and who knows what, lied Barry Allen.
Alive.
"Barry-!" She was by his side before her brain even registered her legs were moving. "Oh my God, you're alive, oh my God-" Her hands fluttered nervously, unsure of whether or not she could hug him for fear of breaking him further.
"It's okay. You can hug him. But gently-" Caitlin warned from somewhere across the room, she didn't know because she was solely focused on something else right now.
Or rather, somebody else.
Mindful of his injuries, Felicity brought Barry into a hug, relishing the feeling of holding him close to her.
He was alive and he was breathing and things were gonna' be okay-
She pulled back, perfectly aware of the tears on her cheeks but frankly not giving a damn at the moment.
"You're alive. How-"
"Caitlin's a miracle worker," Barry piped in, smiling in her direction.
"I can't believe this. I mean, thank God, but-" Barry chuckled. "Wait, til' Oliver hears this. He's gonna' be so relieve-" She clamped her mouth shut, abruptly cutting
off her own words.
Barry frowned, glancing around the room.
"Speaking of which, where is he?"
"Um-" Cisco chimed in, nervously hovering nearby. "That's-"
"Complicated."
"A good question.
Cisco and Felicity finished at the same time, each sharing a glance at the other.
"What?" Barry frowned, and Felicity bit her lip, unsure of what to tell him. How was she supposed to explain Oliver's disappearing act and how he captured Crystal but
still wouldn't come back?
Thankfully, John spoke up before she had to.
"Oliver's not here right now," He stepped forward. "He thought you were dead. Hell, we all did," Felicity winced. "But unlike the rest of us, he didn't stick around to
find out the truth. We don't know where he is, Barry."
"Oh, God," Barry ran a hand over his face, before inhaling a sharp breath and attempting to sit up.
That resulted in every person in the room rushing to his side to stop him.
"No, no-"
"Hey!"
He grunted, falling back and closing his eyes as the pain threatened to pull him back under.
"-need to," Gasp. "Talk to him-"
"You can do that later." Caitlin promised, gently pushing him back against the pillows. "Right now, you rest."
"But-"
"No, Barry. You nearly died out there. Now maybe you don't care but we can't handle losing you so just lie back down and stay." Caitlin snapped, pausing as she inhaled a breath of air. She blew the air back out, defeated. "I'm sorry-"
"No, you're right. It's okay," Barry closed his eyes, leaning his head back. "I just hope Oliver is, too." Despite the silence of the room, every person in it agreed
with that sentiment.
They all knew Oliver.
And because of that sole reason, they all knew that Barry had every right to be concerned.
Which is exactly why Barry would talk to him, after he healed.
Felicity only hoped it wouldn't be too late.
Barry's alive! Aw, come one, you guys, did you really think i'd kill him off? ;) I'm not that cruel.
Feel free to leave a review! :)
