Tales of the TARDIS
Chapter 5
AN: I have had this chapter on paper for months! I had just read Issue 546 of the Doctor Who Magazine (DWM) and The Fact of Fiction episode was 'The Snowmen '. The Doctor noogied Strax and Strax said "Sir, please do not noogie me during combat prep. " According to the DWM, this term wasn't used until the mid 20th century. The Victorian era was mostly in the 1800s. The DWM suggested that Strax either picked it up from the Doctor or that it was a Sontaran barracks tradition that he accidentally exported to a New York schoolyard. So this chapter is inspired by the second option. Anyway, on with the show!
Disclaimer: I own a small collection of DWMs (Doctor Who Magazines) but not Doctor Who.
Alfie Summers was a 12 year old boy who was playing soldiers with his friends in the school yard after school.
He was in a bad mood. He was recovering from cancer so unlike the other boys, he was bald. He had also wanted to ask Sonya Winters who was the prettiest girl in the school out and had heard that she liked tanned boys so he went to a tanning studio but got the cheapest tan he could find and now he looked orange!
It was very cold so his overprotective Mother put him in enough warm clothes to make it look like he had no neck.
It was nearly dinner time for Alfie so he left his friends and started to head home.
He passed through a deserted street when suddenly there was a flash of light and a boy in blue armour and a blue helmet appeared.
"Well. Where's the battle Major? " asked the other boy.
Alfie, thinking that the boy wanted to play soldiers pointed behind him and asked "That way, what's your name? "
"Commander Strax, Sir. Thank you, Sir, " answered Strax.
Strax then rubbed his knuckles over Alfie's head and marched past him chanting "Sontar-ha, Sontar-ha, "
Alfie laughed at the strange boy's behavior, he thought about what the strange boy did to his head and decided that it was cool.
He showed his friends the next day and together they christened it the noogie.
Meanwhile:
Strax found the yard in which Alfie's friends were still playing soldiers.
He looked at the boys, at his vortex manipulator and scowled.
"Humans, and not even in a proper war, " he sneered.
He entered the coordinates to the correct planet and in another flash of light was gone and that is how Strax accidentally brought the noogie to Earth
