The Warmth Of An Irish Blessing

Rachel and Sasha laughed as King Lauhin tickled them, chuckling as the girls' laughter rang through the room. "Ah, you fill the room with joy, my daughters," he said, letting them up as they laughed a bit longer. Jocu smiled as he came in along with Bubble, who had just finished visiting Guts Man and Cut Man, who were doing well in Dr. Light's lab.

"Well, looks like Father got you both good," the red-skinned Lauhinian said.

Rachel grinned. "Yes," she said before seeing Bubble. "Hi, Bubble. How are you?"

"I'm good, thank you, Miss Rachel," he said, hugging her and she hugged him back. Sasha got up and hugged Bubble too.

"We're glad you're here, Bubble," the brown-haired girl said. "We were wondering if you would like to come over for dinner for St. Patrick's Day."

He looked curious before it dawned on him. "Oh, the holiday where everyone wears green," he said.

"Right," Rachel said with a smile.

Bubble gave it some thought as he had never been invited to the mansion for dinner before, but he nodded. "I'd love to come," he said.

"Alright," Lauhin said with a nod. "I understand Way Big and his brother are making boiled dinner?"

"That's right," Sasha said. "And Rachel and I are going to make Irish soda bread."

"Soda bread?" Jocu asked.

"It's like a dessert bread with raisins in it," Rachel said. "And it's yummy."

"It does sound delicious," Bubble said in agreement. "What time should we be there?"

"Well, dinner will be ready in about five hours," Sasha said. "Why don't you come now?"

"An excellent idea," Jocu said with a grin.

It wasn't long before the entire Royal family was at the Grant Mansion and the inhabitants welcomed them all warmly. Bubble, noticing there were a lot of people, felt his shyness kick in and he scooted away to the kitchen where Rachel and Sasha were. They smiled when he came in, but looked concerned that he seemed a bit unsure about something. "Bubble, are you okay?" Rachel asked.

He nodded. "Just...a little nervous," he admitted.

The girls nodded, remembering that Bubble was a bit skittish around people he didn't know. "Our family is harmless, Bubble," Sasha said gently.

"I believe you, Miss Sasha," he said. "It's just...so new to me."

Rachel smiled before squeaking in surprise as hands rested on her sides. "Boo," a playful voice said in her ear and sure turned to find Goop behind her.

"Hey, Goop," she said with a smile. "Is the ballroom ready?"

"All ready," he said before noticing Bubble. "Who's this?"

"This is Bubble," Sasha said with a smile. "Father adopted him sometime back."

Seeing the robot looked a little nervous, Goop giggled and moved quickly, wrapping around Bubble's middle before tickling him, making the sentient robot laugh heartily as he tried to escape by transforming into his Lauhinian form, but that just gave Goop more advantage because he formed two more hands and tickled Bubble's underarms and stomach at the same time, making him fall to the floor and laugh heartily.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NOHOHOHOHOHOT THAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAT!" He pleaded through his laughter.

Rachel chuckled. "Tickling is a common activity in this house, Bubble," she said. "Just like the Tickle Castle."

Goop let Bubble up and the bot-turned-Lauhinian chuckled as he settled down, looking at the polymorph. "You're good at tickling," he said.

"I've had a lot of experience," the alien said with a chuckle.

The children came into the kitchen and were a bit unsure as they saw the new Lauhinian. "Who's that?" Asked one of the younger girls.

"This is your uncle Bubble," Sasha said. "King Lauhin's son."

That made the kids curious, especially when Bubble transformed to his robot form. "He's a sentient robot? Like Uncle Ultimate Echo Echo and Uncle Atomix?" Another child asked.

"That's right," Rachel said with a smile.

Jocu chuckled at that and was soon glomped by some of the children while the aliens came in, mingling and laughing happily. Bubble stood off to the side, feeling more nervous now before feeling a hand on his shoulder and turning to see a cat-like alien beside him. "You must be Bubble," he said. "I'm Rook, Rachel's fiancée."

"Oh, hello," Bubble said. "She's mentioned you before."

Alien X came up to them, handing them some soda with lime sherbet. "Welcome, Bubble," he said warmly. "Rachel and Sasha have told us so much about you."

"They have?" He asked in surprise.

"Of course," Sasha said with a smile. "You're part of the family too."

Ghostfreak came up to them. "Ah, there's nothing like the warmth of an Irish blessing," he said, indicating above them and they looked up to see a large shamrock hanging from the ceiling and it had the words 'Irish Blessing' in the center.

"What is an Irish blessing?" Bubble asked curiously.

"A blessing of family, good luck, and good fortune," Alien X said with a smile.

Rachel nodded as she came over. "And a time to remember how blessed we are," she said. "I personally couldn't ask for a better family than this."

The others agreed with her and Bubble continued watching the interactions curiously, but it seemed that the family didn't want him to feel let out and so encouraged him to join them as they mingled and shared good stories. Bubble felt a little skittish at first, but to his surprise, the others accepted him warmly and didn't seem to mind that he was a robot that could transform into a Lauhinian.

Some of the younger children gathered around him and hugged him, to which he hugged them back, understanding how his brothers had soft spots for the young ones, because they were so innocent. One even gave him a foam shamrock to wear. "You have to wear green on St. Patrick's Day," the young one had said.

The thoughtful gift made him smile and even the adults were being nice to him. Their kindness was helping him to be less shy and to warm up to them.

When the To'kustars announced that dinner was ready, everyone gathered in the ballroom to enjoy the delicious meal and Bubble had to admit it was one of the most amazing meals he had ever eaten. He saw Jocu sitting beside him and smiled. "I'm glad I came," he said.

"Me too," his brother said with a smile.

"Us too," Rachel said as she hugged Bubble. "Happy St. Patrick's Day."

"Happy St. Patrick's Day," he replied, smiling as he felt the warmth of the Irish blessing Ghostfreak had mentioned earlier. The warmth made him not only feel at home, but also made him feel that he was truly a part of the Grant Mansion family too.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! :)
