7. Sampling Europa.
The Tardis lands on Europa, not far from the crashed spaceship. The Doctor, Ommera and Crystelle emerge wearing the Europa mission's space suits.
One of the remaining small metal crabs' claws at the Doctor's boot but isn't noticed as the Doctor accidentally stands on it.
The Doctor scans the spaceship ruin remnants with his sonic screwdriver. "What is that?" He steps closer. A much larger Queen crab emerges very close to Ommera. It must be twice her height. The Doctor communicates to Ommera. "Ommera, run and run fast and don't look back."
Ommera runs and doesn't look back. The Doctor acts as a distraction to the Queen crab.
Crystelle can't see the Doctor be devoured by the Queen crab. She is behind it and she climbs up onto the Queen crab and hits it hard with a stone.
The Queen crab shudders and turns but it can't see Crystelle; she is out of view of its eyes. The Doctor runs with Ommera towards Tardis but turns to see what is happening. Crystelle is still on the back of Queen crab. "We must save Crystelle," he says.
"You run one way and I'll run the other way," the Doctor says. "The one behind the Queen crab must help Crystelle down."
Actually, Crystelle is very fit and just jumps down. Although it looks like a long way, the reduced gravity lets her land easily.
Ommera and Crystelle run to the Tardis. They look back to see the Doctor running from the Queen crab.
"I have an idea," Ommera says. "We must go into the Tardis."
They go into the Tardis.
"Tardis, could you surround the Doctor please?" Ommera says.
The Doctor finds himself running inside the Tardis Control room. He has to stop quickly!
The Doctor has the readings from his sonic screwdriver now. He thinks he knows what he's dealing with.
The rescue is complete.
They pick up loads of samples and deliver them to the Orbiter, along with the three space suits.
"Almost everything you wanted to do," the Doctor says.
"There will only have been a brief break in transmissions to Earth," the Doctor reassures the crew. "I could give you a speed or location boost on your way home, but it would look really odd. So, you're on your own from here."
"Oh, and erm, could you say as little as possible about us; preferably nothing," the Doctor requests. "We came to help, and we've helped."
The Tardis leaves the Orbiter where it would have been if it had simply continued to orbit without the Tardis' help.
Neville is fine with this; after hearing Crystelle's eulogy about the Doctor. Angel not so. She doesn't understand the Doctor's role in all of this. Neville has to pull rank on her to stay silent.
What is happening in OrionTwoBetaFive? What is behind this deluge of metal crabs?
Suddenly, in the Tardis Control room, a hologram appears. The Doctor recognises the face. The Master is just laughing.
"The Master is playing with us," the Doctor says. "Just how extensive is this game?"
The hologram disappears. The three are alone once more. The mood has changed. Beforehand, they were all happy that they had helped the crew. Now the Master is involved. They are all just a part of his game.
