"Remy? What are you doing here? Why didn't you use the front door?" Forge opened the back door of his basement to Remy. The basement was as messy as ever, with tools strewn everywhere, including on top of the washer and dryer in front of the staircase. The cement floor could barely be seen under the mess, as well as Forges handy wooden workbench in the middle of the room. The two windows on the far wall looked forever dusty as well. Forge was smart, but he wasn't a neat freak.
"Long story. Look, is your mom here? Do _not_ let her down here, whatever you do!" Remy warned him.
"No, my parents are out in California visiting family. What's going on? You look horrible. And your clothes..." Forge said.
Remy had forgotten his clothes were nearly in tatters, but it wasn't lost on him that he was still missing a boot.
"Let's go upstairs," Remy said. Forge quickly found him something to wear while Remy explained the situation. The pants weren't quite long enough, but at least the shirt and shoes fit. The two sat in the small living room of the house. It was your typical suburban space, just off the closed off kitchen with a red couch, matching chairs, and a large yellow rug, all in front of a white brick fireplace with a flat screen TV above it. "So, you mind if I crash here for a few days or whatever? I don't know how long it's going to take Hank to make some kind of cure to this thing."
"Hey, my place is your place, buddy," Forge said, "I wish I could help, but I'm just the tech guy."
"Yeah, the tech guy that has made us travel through time, twice I might add, and done all sorts of amazing things," Remy said, "Don't sell yourself short."
"Thanks Remy. How's Molly taking all of this?" Forge asked.
"Uh, I didn't have the heart to tell her. I didn't want her getting jealous or worrying. She's laid up with the flu right now and doesn't need the strain," A smirk crossed Remy's features, "By the way, I don't think you've heard, but we got engaged." Now Forge could _never_ go after Molly! She'd been locked down, her heart was all Remy's. So, whatever funny ideas Forge might've had (at least in Remy's jealous mind), could be kissed goodbye forever!
"Really? That's great news, congratulations! I'm happy for you. I'm sure Molly was planning on telling me herself eventually, but I know you two have been busy. I look forward to getting an invitation," Forge smiled, looking not the least bit disappointed at this news. Hmm. Maybe he was never after Molly. Or was he?
"You're happy? You're not, oh, even a little disappointed?" Remy brushed his neck, holding out his hand pensively.
"No? Remy...did you think all this time I wanted to go after Molly? Were you actually _jealous_?" Forge leaned forward, hands on his knees, looking amused with a big smile on his face.
Remy crossed one leg over the other, pouting hard. "Well, what was I supposed to think! You two were always close, and you're not an ugly guy. And you're single, so, naturally I never believed your friendship with my girl was purely out of the goodness of your heart. There had to be an ulterior motive in there somewhere. Molly is warm and sweet. I thought maybe you saw everything good in her that I saw."
"Aw, man. It's funny you saw _me_ as even a threat. It's really flattering, and I know your head over heels, but Molly has never been my type, sorry. We're strictly friends. I'm single because I'm married to my work for now. Maybe the right girl will come along sometime, but it hasn't happened for me yet. I'm glad Molly has you though. I can see how happy you make her. Sometimes she won't shut-up about you, but you guys deserve each other." Forge explained, now sitting back, relaxed.
"Well...that's a big relief. I guess I should've asked you earlier, but all I was seeing was green and your inventions always freaked me out. I'm sure if you wanted to, you could do some awful things to me, so I was cautious." Remy said.
"Oh, you know I really could," Forge actually smirked.
Remy thought about calling Molly to check in, but figured she was still asleep. She really needed her rest. He could always call her later. Meantime, Remy caught his breath with some water on the couch, while Forge went back down to his workshop. Forge let Remy make himself at home, so Remy turned on the TV and caught up on the news.
"Breaking news! I'm here at the Xavier institute where it seems chaos has broken out among its student body," The blonde, female reporter said. From behind her, Remy was shocked to see half of the right front of the institute blown off! The inner bedrooms of the mens wing and the front foyer, with it's adjoining rooms, exposed, while in the background, several of the female students were facing off against each other. Amara threw a fireball at Rahne and Anne, while Rogue was going around knocking out people like Ray, Kurt and Roberto, turning herself into a one woman swiss army knife against a silver, liquid Cessily and a furious looking Storm. The fight wasn't one sided, as Storm brought up a black as night thundercloud over the school, striking down lightning that Rogue avoided with teleporting, blasting ice and electricity from each hand, focusing all her attention on Storm instead. Meanwhile, redheaded Cessily was standing there, readying herself to overtake Tabitha, going loosely around the older girl like a silver snake, primed to squeeze her blue. Thankfully, that didn't happen, as Jubilee came up behind Cessily and blinded her with her plasmoids, causing Cessily to fall to the ground in a heap, then getting knocked out by Tabitha with a joined fist over the head. Meanwhile, above it all, Jean flew overhead, carrying someone in her arms. Remy was shocked as Jean landed in front of the Camera, holding a deeply unconscious Molly.
"I'm here to alert the town," Jean said, "Remy LeBeau's pheromones have overtaken the institute. Every woman is infected because Doctor McCoys cure backfired and it spread to all of us. Be warned, if you come here to stop this, there will be consequences. And Remy, you better be watching this, because you need to come back here or else Molly _dies_!"
Remy ran out the door and to the car, getting in and starting it, but he had no plan. What could he do? If he offered himself up, Molly lived, but without a cure and the Institute in shambles, everyone and everything there was doomed. Least of all Remy. What would they do if they had him? Fight to death until the last woman was standing?! And Molly? What would they dare do to her regardless? She was the one who held Remy's heart in the first place. Would they torture her even if Remy gave himself up to them?
Remy went back down to see Forge.
"Hommes, we gotta plan. Molly's in big trouble."
"I'd do anything for Molly. What do you want me to do, Remy?" Forge busted out his techno-organic arm, ready to get to work.
